Technically I should only answer Esperanto but reality forces me to concede this is not entirely the case. Significantly, because of our large migrant population the top languages of the world like English and French have come to prevalence in the immigrant community. While, despite the best efforts of the Government the local ethnic Awesome population continues to speak Aw'sum at home and reserve Esperanto for work. Our large Veran population is largely bilingual in Veran Russian and Esperanto and more likely to be literate in Esperanto than Russian.

In spite of all this, If you plan on visiting of living in 250land and Vera Esperanto is your best bet for communication and our army (which accepts foreign recruits) operates entirely in this language.

English, though there are varying levels of dialect. Some of the language used by the people far up in the mountains is very different.

Most people in Savelsieron speak, predictably, Sieronian(of which I have no text of as of yet, but I'll make it soon; it's a Germanic language.) However, it isn't unknown for some to speak other languages, such as German, English, or French.

There are 5 official languages of Oxenryd:
Catalan | English | Oxenian | Slovene | Spanish

English and Spanish are known by ~90% of the population, with Catalan diaspora scattered throughout the country.
A huge influx of Slovene immigrants brought the language to the country, and a large number of Slovene communities, mainly in the south-east, were established.
Oxenian is the traditional language of the country, and is taught in schools.

The national official language is Yeungwainese. Around 85% of the ethnic Han majority speak Yeungwainese, with a significant Cantonese-speaking minority in eastern Ninggwai province, a significant Mandarin-speaking immigrant group, and small Xiang-speaking communities in eastern Gwaijau and northeastern Ninggwai. There are 16 recognised minority languages - Mandarin and Cantonese, plus 14 for the minority ethnic groups making up around 35% of the population. Although, what with Yeungwai historically being a multiethnic nation, a lot of these have a strong Yeungwainese identity as well, and therefore around half speak fluent Yeungwainese, and that percentage is growing.

A large percentage of the population can also speak Mandarin, due to aggressive promotion of Mandarin during Chinese occupation. In schools, English is taught from age 8, and Mandarin from age 11. Due to the lexical similarity with Yeungwainese and some grammatical similarity with Mandarin, it's quite common for Yeungwainese people to be able to communicate to some level in Cantonese without having studied it.

German is spoken throughout the nation being the only official national language. There are some regional languages such as Dutch, Norwegian, Danish and Swedish. Other languages such as Polish or Russian are illegal to speak and very few people do, as the Russian and Polish people have either been expelled or killed.

The nation of Nidrosia speaks the Nidrosian language, a modern descendant of the Gothic language of yore. It is similar to Danish in phonology, yet draws almost all of its vocabulary from Gothic. Some sample sentences:

Yes - Je [je:]

No - Ne [ne:]

Please - Bede [ˈb̥ɛð̞ə]

Thank you - Tank [tˢɑˀŋɡ̊]

Good morning/day/night - God mørgen/dag/natt [ɡ̊o:ð̞ˠ møɐ̯jn̩/d̥ɑʊ̯/nad̥]

Welcome/farewell - Velkvume/farvel [ˈʋɛlˌkʰʋumə/ˈfɑ:ˌʋɛl]

Hello, how are you? - Hejl, hvø es tu? [hɛjˀl ʋø:s tˢu:]

Excuse me - Forkved (mig) [fɒ:ˈkʰʋɛð̞ˠ (mi:)]

I don't know - Eg ni ved [ɛɪ̯ ni: ʋɛð̞ˠ] (fact) / Eg ni kand [ɛɪ̯ ni: kˠʰaˀn] (someone, understand)

Where is the hospital? - Hvar es syghuset? [ʋɑ:s ˈsy:jˌhu:sd̥]

Grace and peace to you - Anst ja fryd du tig [ansd̥ ja: fʁyð̞ˠ d̥u: tˢi:] (A formal greeting, a relic of older times)

Hyggematic:
(Note that Hyggematic like all inflected Germanic languages has variable word order. Unlike modern High German, Hyggematic verbs do not need to appear in any fixed location, but tend to appear finally in normal written sentences. When context supports, esti "is" can be dropped; this is especially prevalent with the "is" is negated, leaving only uk or ukid, negators.)
    Hello -- heya!
    Goodbye -- uesthu hailtis
How are you? -- kuos esi?
    I'm fine -- esus/suia/esu esmi (depending on gender, masc./fem./neut.)
May I...? -- esti meme ultai... (followed with infinitive of action asked)
    Yes, please do -- uoltai
No, please don't -- ne uoletai
    Give ... to me! -- miki tidudi/dedi/tedudi ...! (pres./aor./perf.)
    Help! -- yihidi!
    Go already! -- ya idi!
Kill him! -- ton ktendi/gundi! (ktendi is reserved for persons)
Kill him!!! -- ton ktondi! (ktondi is the intensive form from ktendi)
To your health! -- sesongomos teue
    What is ... called? -- kuisi kekltai ... ?
    Where is ... ? -- kuisi enesti ... ?
I have no idea -- uk miki esti mentis
I understand -- kignosko ("I" is usually dropped as verbal inflexion patently indicates the first person and singular pronoun. When not dropped, it creates a contrast between the speaker and spoken to, such as "I understand, do you?")
Given more time, in the fullness of time -- son polu ti
Fuck you! -- yobmi te! (This would be slightly awkward in Hyggematic because no local expletive directly translates "fuck". yobmi indicates actual copulation, in a forcible manner.)

English (or rather its local variety, Stormaen English) is spoken by 96% of Stormaeners as their mother tongue and proficiency in English (of any variety) is a requirement of permanent residency (and later citizenship).

That's about it on a national scale. There are pockets of immigrants in larger towns where they speak their own language amongst themselves. Since the Second World War, Polish has been Stormaen's de facto 'second language', with 45,000 speakers as of the 2006 census. Poles are so much a part of Stormaen society that "Pole" has become a controversial by-word for "labourer" or "handyman" (due to Poles often being in the labouring sector).

Throughout the earlier colonial history, Portuguese became Stormaen's de facto second language as merchants from the Azores bound for North America stopped over and re-supplied in Stormaen. As many as 25,000 Portuguese people settled in Stormaen between 1636 and 1800.
