Assassination of a Public Official - Killing someone involved in government work or under government contract. Ironically enough, ever since the death penalty was put back in for murder, this carries a lesser sentence of exile.

Because Jankenjin marry in threesomes rather than couples, our laws regulating marriage are rather different. One that's probably unique to us is:

Marital Conspiracy - Basic family decisions such as where to live, how to spend the family budget, how to arrange household effects, how to raise children, etc., are expected to be made by consensus among all three marriage partners. However, if two of the three have a private agreement, financial or otherwise, that is not shared with the third member, this is called "marital conspiracy". It comes in several degrees of severity, depending on the importance of the decision and whether or not it was done with malicious intent:
  • Going behind a partner's back when making school arrangements for the children, for example, would be considered misdemeanor marital conspiracy.
  • Creating a private financial fund between two of the partners with the intent to cut out the third would be considered felony marital conspiracy.

Besides the criminal penalties (usually fines, only very rarely is jail time sentenced), marital conspiracy impacts Jankenjin civil law. Ordinarily, for married Jankenjin to get a divorce requires "proof of cause" (such as adultery, estrangement, or failure to support the children) and the consent of all three partners. A marital conspiracy conviction automatically grants proof of cause, and if it's a felony conviction, waves the unanimous consent requirement.
Yes, we have a Factbook, for all those odd facts about this bunch of weird aliens.

Unauthorized genetic manipulation: This is a felony offense, all persons undergoing genetic augmentation should give informed consent before the procedure goes ahead.

Doctors caught performing genetic modifications without the consent of the patient will lose their medical license and face up to 10 years imprisonment per offense when convicted.

Technically, the only thing illegal in Victorious Decepticons is treason, which is punished with death.

Some of what qualifies as "treason," however, may be surprising. It stands to reason that in a dictatorship, dissent = treason. But as a society of robots, some unique acts also qualify:

Building a Decepticon robot that does not at least meet the Minimum Design Specification is treason because doing so would weaken Decepticon society.

Notable example: It is treasonous to activate a new Decepticon that is not made of properly-armored metal and equipped with two powerful blasters. If this is violated, the Coder/mechanic responsible will be melted down, and his own metal used to make the requisite parts.

It is treason to intentionally write defective or otherwise below-spec Code that is intended to be sentient.

Those who are known to be bad Coders, yet repeatedly activate sentient Code without first having it tested by Debugging, will be considered traitors who are intentionally trying to weaken Decepticon society. They will also be reviled by the citizens, sort of like how "child abusers" are hated by humans.

Even though we deleted all the Autobots, it is still treason to make, fix, or drive a car. This is because doing so implies Autobot sympathies.

In Dungeyland, it is illegal to own a dog whose head is not attached to his body. This law, still enforced, dates back to the days when the invaders from Rolamec used to use dogs to find Rebellion leaders. The Rebels were often caught, and often they attempted to chop of the dogs head. As such, headless dogs are illegal and punishable by six year in jail. This law has often been on the agenda for repealtion, but the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals (RSPA) protested.
Classical liberal.
  • My nation is called the Dangish Empire, officially
  • The population is circa 500 million
  • It is an imperial federation
  • The term Dungeyland while only technically referring to one colony can be used for the entire Empire (think Holland)
  • The Dangish Empire is a constitutional monarchy, our monarch is Queen Ellen I

Fursecution - Deliberate and harmful actions conducted with malicious intent against sentient non-humans. Punishment depends on legal specifics of the actions in question. This charge, if upheld, may extend a prison term out by as much as fifteen years.

From the way you say that, I suppose it would also not be a good idea for a Moralite - that is the term, yes? - to visit Julian soil.

Do you know, even with such threats, you would be free, human, to walk about in the streets of any city here? Oh, the irony! The only time harm is likely to come upon a human is when he brings it down by his actions.

In any case, your most courteous warning is appreciated, and has been forwarded to the correct offices of the government here. Thank you.

Dinocide: Harming or killing a Dinosaur citizen if you're a non-Dino. Since the Dinosaurs are the dominant species here, this crime is taken very seriously, especially if the perpetrator is a Human, a species seen with apathy and pity by most Dinosaurs. Punishment towards a Human depends on whether the victim is alive or dead. If the victim survived the whole ordeal, the Human is either sentenced to serving in a Penal Unit (who often engage on all the suicidal tasks on the battlefield) or enslaved. If the victim dies, either on the spot or later on, the Human is executed, usually by being eaten by carnivorous Dinosaur guards.

Hmmm. With an attitude of ignorance like that, I'd say that's probably not a bad idea, if you come to visit. It would be healthier, though, if you instead came to sample the fine tobacco and wine stocks.

Well, some of us do, but then others use the Old Ways, reclining at meals and making sure to be decently clothed before leaving the house. It is possible to walk down a street and see men in clothes of a style first used a thousand years ago and more, walking beside men dressed in modern business clothes.

But then even as I type this, I know you will use it as yet one more excuse to hate my people.

Electricide: The improper disposal of electrical equipment that is still useful is called Electricide. (i.e. salvageable, operational, et cetera.) Punishable by minimum 4 months maximum 1 year of community service time.

Intellicide: The crime that has taken the place of murder, and all other killing crimes are usually grouped under Intellicide. (Murder of anything intelligent, be it artificial or natural.) The crimes are sorted as: Intellicide-Infanticide for child killing, Intellicide-Patricide for father killing, et cetera. (They can be abbreviated as I-INF, and I-PAT respectively. All Intellicidal crimes have codes as shown.) Punishable by anywhere from 15-Life of Jail time, or expulsion from the country with no chance of parole.

Public display of profanity: if one swears profusely, frequently, and/or loudly in public places after being warned to stop, they can be arrested for such and spend a night in jail. It is a felony because violators are placed in federal penetitiaries instead of county and local jailhouses.

Failure to relenquish a slave: TurtleShroom law does not give faith and credit towards slaveholding nations. Masters entering with slaves risk getting caught and their slaves handed a certificate of emancipation. Slaves can then apply for citizenship after one month of aquisition of freedom. Masters who fail to comply with this law are forced out of TurtleShroom, and they still lose their slaves. It if a felony because it is punishable by forced exile.

Impersonating a geezer: nursing homes in TurtleShroom are overfunded and more luxurious than any five star hotel in the country. Everything one could ever dream of is provided without expense. Almost all of the TS health budget goes to the elderly, like in pensions, hospice, and retirement homes. Naturally, people try to abuse this process by disguising themselves as an old person. The punishment is forty years in prison, and it is a felony due to its length.

Taking the life of a turtle/Chelonicide: also called chelonicide. Derived from the word "chelonian", a taxonomic order for all turtles and such and -cide, literally meaning "the killing of a turtle". In TurtleShroom, turtles are capable of human-level thought, adhering to religion, and intelligence (sapience/sentience). Even though, by Biblical law, they are inferior to humanity (sanctity of man and beast/Human Dominion of the earth in Genesis), they are in TS law treated as equals. Killing a sentient turtle is equivalent to killing a human, and carries all of the penalties.

Taking the life of a mushroom/Mycocide: also called mycocide (literally "the killing of a mushroom"). See Chelonicide but with mushrooms.

More to come...
