Dwile Warriors complete a treble of UICA trophies for the Apox National League.

Updated coëfficients are now available.

The entry limits for the next season of UICA competition will be as follows:
Champions’ Cup 59: The number of teams allowed is determined according to association coëfficients, with the following distribution:
  • Associations ranked 1–3 (Apox, Jasĭyun, and The Calanian Union) are allowed to enter four teams.
  • Associations ranked 4–6 (Polar Islandstates, Capitalizt SLANI, and Eura) are allowed to enter three teams.
  • Associations ranked 7–33 (Audioslavia, Nephara, Farfadillis, Buyan, Valladares, Turori, Vilita, Taeshan, Valanora, 95X, Brenecia, Pasarga, Earent, Kernansquillec, Dainer, Yttribia, Felix, Zwangzug, Acedonia, Darmen, Unified Sunrise Islands, Falcus, Ko-oren, The Royal Barangay, San José Guayabal, Legalese, and Capivara Group) are allowed to enter two teams.
  • Associations ranked 34 and below, and unranked associations, are allowed to enter one team.
  • Special considerations:
    • Dwile Warriors is assured a place as the titleholder. If it fails to qualify for one of Apox’s four Champions’ Cup places, it will replace the fourth-placed team, which will receive an additional place in the Globe Cup.
    • Élite League: Has seven places. Jasĭyun must enter at least three teams and Capitalizt SLANI at least two.
    • LigAnaia: Has six places. The Calanian Union must enter at least three teams and Audioslavia at least one. Because three LigAnaia associations are ranked in the top 32, and only two of them may be registered as primary associations, 33rd-ranked Capivara Group is allotted a second place in the Champions’ Cup.
    • V-League: Has four places. Turori and another association must enter at least one team each.
    • A-League, SiegLeague: Each has three places, which must be filled by at least two different associations.
    • United Hoofball Association: Has two places, which must be filled by two different associations.
    • Minor Valhallan League, Futbalo Asocio Sarrbi: Each has one place.
Globe Cup 56: Every association is allowed to enter three teams. Multiassociational leagues with two primary associations may enter six teams, of which no more than four may be from the same association. Sokojiwa Dosi CK is assured a place as the titleholder unless it qualifies for the Champions’ Cup; if it fails to qualify for either competition through its multiassociational league, it will receive an additional place in the Globe Cup. Apox may also receive an additional place as explained above.
Series B Champions’ Cup 56: Every association is allowed to enter four teams. Multiassociational leagues with two primary associations may enter eight teams, of which no more than six may be from the same association.

The deadline for entry to Champions’ Cup 59, Globe Cup 56, and Series B Champions’ Cup 56 is tentatively set for Sunday, 2015-04-26.

Bidding is now open for a UICA Partner for seasons 60–67, which will be the primary sponsor of the Super Cup. The following is required to submit a bid:
  • The name of the bidding company or product, preferably a single word or acronym.
  • The company or product’s wordmark, as it would appear in the sponsorship logo. This wordmark must be black on a transparent background, in SVG or PNG format, and as large as possible, but must be distinguishable at the size at which it will ultimately be used.
  • If the company has a storefront forum thread, a link to that thread.
Bids should be posted in this thread. Companies from Audioslavia, Bleak Rock, Cairnskillen, The Calanian Union, The Fallenmark Islands, Paripana, and Polar Islandstates are ineligible to bid. Renewal of the existing contract with Tropicorp will automatically be considered.

Procedural Notes:
  • The entries of The Royal Barangay (Real Cintore), Darmen (Scott City FC), and Buyan (Pajukas Sport), were accepted on the condition that next season's entrants qualify for the competition on sporting merit. Failure to comply with this will result in the exclusion of their entries for next season.
  • The entry of The Sword Bloke (TT The Owner Supports) was accepted despite the Cup Winners' Cup Organizing Committee failed to find any evidence of results for their domestic cup. The same conditions for future admission expressed in the previous item will also apply to The Sword Bloke.
  • The entry of Mapletish (Celtic Rovers) was also accepted even though the Mapletish FA did not fully meet the admision criteria [OOC: link to cup final scorination in this thread nowhere to be found] after the Cup Winners' Cup organizers found evidence of a national cup being played by browsing through Maplish sporting websites. Failure to comply with the admission conditions in the future will also result in the exclusion of their entries.
  • Last but not least, the Cup Winners' Cup organizers would like to request the Kernansquillec FA to avoid submitting entrants for past CWC editions; New Southampton were accepted despite having been signed up for "Cygnus Cup 32", but the Cup Winners' Cup organizers might not follow this same course of action in the future.

Welcome one and all to the thirty-third edition of the Cup Winners' Cup, once again brought to you by the Valladar Football Association. This edition of the competition will see 40 clubs from 39 associations participate, a decrease of one club and one association from the last edition. Sixteen clubs will take part in a preliminary round, and the eight winners of this round will be joined by the current titleholders plus the remaining 23 clubs which will be entering the competition at the first round proper. Titleholders Raynor City United will be looking forward to be successful in their title defense like they did in the ninth edition, but clubs like Vilita's Turoki United and Pasarga's CA Paulinthal will want to rain on their parade and (why not?) win the competition in the process. Final Site Election

Eight football associations (The Sword Bloke, Nw Drknka, Gregoryisgodistan, Valanora, Pasarga, Felix, San José Guayabal, and Vilita) expressed their interest in hosting the final of this Cup Winners' Cup edition, however, only six bids made it to the final step of the process since Gregoryisgodistan was the venue for the most recent final and San José Guayabal was given the Globe Cup final by UICA. That said, delegations from The Sword Bloke, Nw Drknka, Valanora, Pasarga, Felix, and Vilita were invited to the Autódromo de Yumbo in the outskirts of Metropolis to compete against each other in a 33-lap "wacky race" for the hosting rights. However, none of the contenders would have an easy task as the members of the Organizing Committee deliberately kept on putting a series of booby traps throughout the track for the duration of the race in order to eliminate the highest number of contenders before anyone could complete the 33 laps. The Swordean, Drknkan, Vilitan, and Vanorian cars all fell victims to these traps, leaving only their Felixian and Pasargan counterparts still in contention, with the Felixians managing to complete the 33 laps in first place and being awarded the hosting rights for the thirty-third Cup Winners' Cup final, which shall be played at Stadia Volker in Volker, Felix (cap. 90,000).

The 33rd Cup Winners' Cup

Final
Played at Stadia Volker in Volker, Felix

Scott City FC (DAR) 1–4 Raynor City United (VAL)

Raynor City United rounded up another successful title defense by clobbering Scott City FC in the decisive game, while the Darmeni side were treated to their third disappointment in a Cup Winners' Cup final, joining Urbizania Wanderers in that club.

Notes for Cup Winners' Cup Entry

  • Each association may enter ONE club into the Cup Winners' Cup, with the exception of Valanora which may enter one club in addition to Raynor City United.
  • Should Raynor City United win their qualifying national association or league cup, the spot held over for a second Vanorian entrant will be vacated.
  • Clubs can only qualify through ONE domestic cup competition.

Season 1971

The supporters of CAP must be getting quite anxious now, as this season makes it two in a row that the club giants will go without any domestic silverware. Instead of the flagbearers of Pasargan footballing rebounding from Tani's title with their own, it was instead an unforeseen club that rose to the top. It is fitting in a way, that it was Baskita FC who won the title, as this is believed by many to be Gignac's last year as a starter for the club. The talimansic striker has seen good years and bad years, yet the Valladar never wavered in his loyalty in the club, even with CAP and Galatica gave him a look over, some even say there were serious offers on the table. For all that work and dedication, he and Baskita have been rewarded with a long overdue vindication with this title.

It was difficult though, with CAP deadset on recapturing the SuperLiga title that some claim they believe is their right. To their credit, the players for the side were trying to that title back, only falling to victory five times over the season. However it will be the twelve draws that the side had that will see them left disappointed in their quest to retake the title. It all came down though to the final two weekends despite those draws, where CAP hosted Baskita and then a trip to Tanrısal. Gignac would score the lone goal in a one to nil victory for Baskita, bringing the teams level on points but with CAP holding the goal difference tiebreaker. In the final weekend, Baskita traveled to SC Myrkan, coming away with the easy two to nil win that everyone expected. In Stein-los, Tani shocked everyone however, as they demolished CAP five to nil, and delivered the title to Baskita, their first outright title since 1948, ending over twenty years of frustration.

CAP would find disappointment as well in the Copa, as they were felled in the Quarterfinals to Club Stein-los in penalities, after the two sides failed to find the back of the net over a hundred twenty minutes. With the biggest hurdle out of the way, Club Stein-los marched past Galatica easily in Torgos during the semifinals, and then made use of penalities once more in the capital for the Final, where Stein-los Turkish were denied their first piece of silverware in over three decades, much to the celebration of their cross town rivals.

At the other side of the table, there was much lamenting as Duke of the North was unable to keep up their top flight status. The club is a bit of a fan favorite, however they were unlucky in the last matchday, only managing to draw Paulinthal FC when a win would have kept them afloat. It is highly likely we will be seeing them back in the topflight soon though, though there is a huge surprise in store for next season in the SuperLiga. That surprise comes in the form of Stradirù who have done the unthinkable and won promotion in back to back seasons through the playoff system both years. They are going to be hard pressed to find solid footing the top flight, with the SuperLiga becoming gradually better, among the top 20 leagues in the world in the latest UICA rankings. However if any comet can keep up their flight, it certain is this one, as it seems that luck is indeed on their side.

Pasarga (PAS) Final Site Bids
Champions Cup 59 : Stade de Torgos (90,000), Torgos - The crown jewel of Pasargan footballing stadium, it is both the national stadium and the stadium of the club side Galatica. It was built to be a monument to the prowess that the Pasargan people can achieve whenever they put their minds to it and show the rest of the footballing community that they belong. Located in the heart of the capital, it is easy to reach from anywhere within the city and the noise created inside the stadium has been known to shake surrounding buildings whenever the Wanderers are playing.

Globe Cup 56: Kilmonarch (72,000) Stein-los - Stein-los welcomes any and all travelers to its borders with open arms. Long since believed to be the footballing capital of the nation, usurping the title from both Torgos and Targas, the chance to host the World Cup has the Stein-losians ecstatic. Kilmonarch, the best of which Stein-los has to offer, is a stadium built just a short twenty or so years before with all the latest amenities meant to attract UICA final bids that never really formulated until now.

Series B Champions Cup 56 : Telathron (72,000) Targas - One of two stadiums in Pasarga that has retractable roofs, Telathron is located in the former footballing capital of the nation. Telathron was built as a supposed rival to Stade de Torgos to compete as the national stadium, but the arena feel to the stadium made it lose out. Despite that, it is still a modern stadium that offers the capability to keep the temperatures during the games at a comfortable seventy-five degrees whenever the roof is closed.

Slaves R Us is a Gregoryisgodistani Slave Shop that sells slaves of all ages to government VIP's. From a baby slave to practice diaper changing on, to a youth slave to run errands, to a sex slave for those more "personal" favors, to a strong adult slave, to an old slave who you got because he was the cheapest one available, Slaves R Us has all your slave-buying needs.

Gregoryisgodistan (GGS) Site Bids
Champions Cup: Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium, Capital District (capacity 175,617)

The newly rebuilt Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium will be bidding to host the Champions Cup. It was newly rebuilt following a terrorist attack by Wolfopians and is the biggest stadium in Gregoryisgodistan. Although smaller than the original, the fans are packed in tighter making for a raucous atmosphere. For Gregoryisgodistan national team home games, there is always a sell-out since fans are forced to attend and executed if they don't. That will not be in place for the Champions Cup.

In contrast to the other bidding stadiums, the Gregoryisgodistani Soccer Federation refuses to temporarily rename Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium to comply with new UICA policy on the grounds that plenty of stadiums in other countries are named after heads of state or former heads of state. If necessary, the stadium will withdraw from bidding rather than change its name.

Globe Cup: Slavery Field/District 23 Field, District 23 (Capacity 300)

Slavery Field is a field in District 23. The field is located inside a slave district where slaves work on manual labor. Not all slaves are based in slave districts, since some work directly for masters, but these slaves in the slave districts farm food items for Government VIP's who can eat whatever they want, to be shipped off to their homes, as well as making other items for government VIP's such as clothing. The slave districts are also used for people sentenced to slave labor for crimes. This was decided that Slavery Field would bid after Slaves R Us attempted to sponsor the Globe Cup last cycle. Now it is bidding again. If this bid is selected, slaves from District 23 will attend to both teams' every need during their stay.

Slavery Field will be temporarily known as District 23 Field for the Globe Cup Final should UICA deem it inappropriate. The Gregoryisgodistan Soccer Federation holds that the normal field name is acceptable as it takes no position on the ethics of slavery, but is willing to change it if necessary.

Series B Champions Cup and Youth Cup: Death To Saintland Soccer Stadium at King Petrus XX Memorial Sports Complex/District 22 Stadium at King Petrus XX Memorial Sports Complex, District 22 (capacity 2,800)

Located in the King Petrus XX Memorial Sports Complex in District 22, Death To Saintland Soccer Stadium at King Petrus XX Memorial Sports Complex is one of several sporting venues in a sporting complex dedicated to the death and destruction of Saintland. The complex is named after the current King of Saintland, very much alive, in the hopes that someday, he will be killed. Once King Petrus XX dies, if the Kingdom of Saintland is still intact, it will be renamed after the new King. If the Kingdom of Saintland has been destroyed or the monarchy has been overthrown and replaced by a government backed by either Feministvs Sanctvsterra or the Church of Gregoryisgodistan, it will be renamed Destruction of Saintland Commemorative Sports Complex.

Death To Saintland Soccer Stadium is located next to Death To Saintland Stadium, a baseball stadium and the original stadium, built before the rest of the complex. Other venues include Death To Saintland Football Stadium, Enemy Crusher Biggy McParis Memorial Ice Hockey Arena, Death To Saintland Arena, which hosts basketball, Death To Queen Veronica Softball Field, Let's Blow Up Saintland Tennis Center, Death to the Patriarch of Saintland Track & Field Complex, Vindicta Progressvm Volleyball World, King Petrus's Decapitated Head Swimming and Diving Center, and Feministvs Sanctvsterra Turf Field, which is used for field hockey and lacrosse.

Death To Saintland Soccer Stadium at King Petrus XX Memorial Sports Complex will be temporarily known as District 22 Stadium at King Petrus XX Memorial Sports Complex for the two finals if selected to comply with UICA Policy. The name of the Sports Complex will not be changed seeing as there are plenty of other stadiums around the world whose names memorialize people and there is no UICA rule stating those people must already be dead. Although the dictionary shows that the word "Memorial" clearly refers to someone who is deceased, Gregoryisgodistan's Vocabulary Enforcement and Reeducation Offices report that UICA does not currently employ Vocabulary Enforcement Officers and thus has no way to enforce the rules of the English Language. However, should UICA desire to hire some Vocabulary Enforcement Officers, VERO will gladly provide some provided UICA pays their salary. UICA should keep in mind, however, that the Vocabulary Enforcement Officers will not selectively enforce the use of correct vocabulary as UICA desires. Rather, they will impose sanctions against every player, coach, club, venue, or sponsor participating in UICA competitions who misuses vocabulary.

The Mangolana Premier league has geared up for its next season. With the World Cup so close, the clubs of Mangolana's soccer association have voted to start the new season early in an attempt to complete league play before the start of the World Cup. The teams have also voted to reinstate the Mangolana Cup in an attempt to get Mangolana clubs back into the Cygnus Cup.

The First Half

The first half of the season went almost like last. Both Skyline United and Skyline FC sat atop the standings through nineteen matches. Thanks to a victory over their rivals on matchday 17, Skyline FC are even at the top with United despite a loss to Federation their last time out. Rounding out the international qualifying spots is Mangolana City and Arsenrall.

United and FC sat atop both sides by three points. Also in the chase for international spots is former Premier League champions Soccoroo, trailing both Mangolana City and Arsenrall by two points.

At the opposite end of the table lies the relegation fight. Fifteenth through twentieth are only separated by six points. Totten and Quentis sit 15th and 16th. Former Premier League powehouse Mascona FC also sits in relegation danger. With only twelve points in nineteen matches, the Suns are in danger of falling out of the Premier League for the first time in their history.

Rounding out the bottom of the table in the automatic relegation positions are Jaconess, Felixian owned Bluepool and Narcana. While Jaconess sits 18th with eleven points, both Bluepool and Narcana sit bottom with only ten points.

Even worse for Bluepool is the Derby day loss at hated rivals Redpool. With very little joy thus far throughout the season, Bluepool's misery hit a major breaking point with the loss to their hated rival.

Speaking of derbies, Skyline FC leads the Skyline derby thanks to wins over both City and United. City and United both have little chance to take the derby this season thanks to a dull 0-0 draw between the two sides. Also in contention is the stadium sharing rivalry down south. With the sides sharing a stadium while Soccoroo's new home is built, Arlnet has failed to defend their turf, losing late 1-0 to the city rivals.

Five Matches Remaining

Its going to be a race to the line between Skyline United and Skyline FC. With FC leading the way, United sit behind their derby rivals by a single point. With the derby match still to come, the Premier League title race could come down to who wants it more.

Still in the title race is Soccoroo. Trailing Skyline FC by only five points with five matches yet to be played gives the south coast a chance at winning a second Premier League title. However, Soccoroo must remain focus on international qualification. Mangolana City sit only two point behind in fourth while Arsenrall trailes by only four with five matches remaining. A single loss by any of the sides could cost them a shot at international competition.

A haunting sign for Skyline FC could be their draw at Skyline City. However, thanks to their 1-1 draw against City, United have no chance of catching Skyline FC, allowing the side to win the Skyline Derby title. Also on the block was the loss by Arlnet against Soccoroo, allowing Socoroo to win another Arlnet Derby title.

Three Matches Remaining

The battle at the top remains agonizingly close. Both Skyline FC and Skyline United remain separated by only a single point. With the derby coming up in the next matchday, the outcome of the match will almost certainly decide the outcome of the title race.

Also heating up is the battle for the final two international spots. While Mangolana City lost at Skyline United, their 6-0 win over Amsterpom was enough to move the side up above Soccoroo on goal differential. Arsenrall has have fallen out of the race while Federation sit only three points behind both Soccoroo and Mangolana City for the final international spot.

The final derby of the season was also decided when Bluepool drew rivals Redpool 0-0.

One Match Remaining

In a turn of events, Skyline United has defeated Skyline FC 2-0. With the win as well as the draw in their last match against Soccoroo, Skyline United now sits in the driver seat heading into the last match. Tied on points, United hold a the Premier League title in their hands thanks to their extremely high goal differential.

It also looks like the international spots have been almost decided. Mangolana City has clinched their spot in the Globe Cup while the final spot is now down to Soccoroo and Arsenrall. A win or draw in their final match would clinch Soccoroo the spot, with Arsenrall's only real hope being a win and Soccoroo loss. Federation also has a shot at getting in should Arsenrall draw or lose and Soccoroo lose.

The relegation battle is also coming down to the final day. Both Bluepool and Jaconess have been officially relegated from the Premier League. Quentis sits 18th, with their only hope being a win and loss by Narcana to get themselves into the playoff position. Narcana also has hope to miss the playoff should they win and have results ahead of them go their way.

End of Season

Blowing a golden oppertunity comes to mind. Skyline United drew at Federation on the final matchday, opening the door for Skyline FC to jump and win their first Premier League title of the new era. However, Skyline FC were denied by a resilient Narcana side. The draw ended the season for FC, allowing their arch-rivals to win their second straight Premier League title.

Arsenall also blew their chance at getting into the international spots. Though Soccoroo suffered a shocking loss at the relegated Jaconess, Arsenall could not find a way to win on the road. The 0-0 draw at Bluepool ended Arsenrall's hope of getting into the Globe Cup.

Mangolana (MNG) Final Site Bids
Champions Cup
Commander's Stadium, Arlnet (80,000) The Stadium of power, settled right near the Mangolana Navy yard, the Commander's Stadium was built as a dedication to Mangolana's military, but specifically, her powerful navy. The stadium originally sat 63,000, but was expanded to 80,000 with Arlnets new stadium sharing deal with fellow Premier league side Soccoroo, who recently signed a 20 year lease with the stadium and the city of Arlnet . The stadium was built by both the city of Arlnet and the Arlnet Soccer Club. The city of Arlnet is also known for its great beaches and its family style environment. Downtown Arlnet, is also not designed like a big downtown, with many of the original Arlnet Businesses still inhabiting the stores they opened with when the city became first incorporated. Though the club Arlnet was finished a disappointing 8th this season, more than half of their matches and all of Soccoroo's matches were close to actual sell-outs, which shows the love and passion for the sport in the area. The stadium is one of a kind along with the passion of the fans, no stadium in the world can match it.

Globe Cup
Klein Multi-Sports Stadium, Poolings (78,000) A basically brand new stadium in Mangolana, home to Redpool of the Mangolana Premier League, the stadium was not put into use due to a delay in construction until the 8th week of the Premier League season. A retractable roof, which is used only when inclement weather strikes prior or during half-time of a match. Because of the roof that can be closed, the field is not natural grass, but a turf, which plays basically like a grass field, but with a little more bounce to the ball. The Stadium officials plan on also bringing the Champions Cup to the stadium one day. The stadium is one of a kind in structure and viewing experience. Though turf is not the preferred field type, their is changes that can be made to the set up and density of the field.

Series B Champions Cup
Green Burrow Stadium, Western Landings (50,000 capacity, 49,000 seated) Home of Globe Cup competitor's and former Premier League Champions Federation, the Green Burrow Stadium represents all that is right with Mangolana Soccer. A club that was never competitive until a few years ago, Federation now represents a power among Mangolana soccer. The stadium seats 49,000 with capacity for standing room being an additional 1,000. The stadium is also home to state of the art housing and hotel complex for the visiting and home players to stay at. Also provided are training grounds for both clubs. The area surrounding the stadium is one of suburban landscape, with most people living in the area having to travel north to Mascona for work. The tranquility and serenity of the area are one of a kind and represent the greatness of the area.

Negotiations derailing after Grisolon identity crisis

As infrastructure goes, the expansion of an international railroad to the Shell Shock Troop Clan wasn't necessarily high-profile news. Perhaps not as exciting as a new superhighway, or a private toll road in the inner cities. Nor did it have the allure of an airport, or the simple beauty of a coastal harbor.

But it was not nothing, either. The idea that we could have public transportation--and it didn't have to be a dirty word, in this context, but rather a judicious use of taxpayer money--to link up with our neighbors, whoever they may be, working on a collective project together, peacefully, and profiting by it! Leading to a favorable exchange of trade goods and perhaps even travellers, this was nothing to sneeze at. The same trains that might have been dismissed as collectivist claptrap ages ago were instead a sign of the new, forward-moving Shell Shock Troop Clan. And the international community took this as a good-faith pledge. The new depot, they announced, would signal to all that Grisolon was a city worth connecting to.

There was just one small problem.

The depot was not in Grisolon.

Perhaps foreigners should not be held responsible for distinguishing among the cities of the Supercentro. Yes, Ciudad Peralta is still the capital and largest city. It should not be confused with San Pablo, which was the capital in colonial times, nor are either to be conflated with Ciudagua, which eventually surpassed both of them for the country's largest football stadium, say. However, if you're not familiar with the geography, these kinds of confusions aren't unforgivable. The supercentro--the south-central area which consists of many populous cities and their intermingling suburbs--is dense, with its borders somewhat arbitrary. From a distance, perhaps they all blend into each other. Oh, residents of one city will still gently needle the others with healthy, non-chauvinistic urban pride. But once more, to the uninitiated, not being able to tell those metropoli apart from each other isn't strange.

Confusing the entire Supercentro with the city of Grisolon is something else again.

Grisolon is located in the far northeast of Shell Shock Troop Clan, in what was once the far northeast of Aguazul proper. It's a border city, and if it's known for its transportation links at all, it's as a coastal city--decidedly one not linked by international trains. Yet, for whatever inscrutable reason, our foreign counterparts didn't know or care which Supercentro town this depot is being built in, so have apparently decided to label all of their maps and tickets with the name of Grisolon. Finally, residents of Arcrés and Condadore, Ciruelas and Mapabore, have put aside their internecine squabbling long enough to take aim at the real "enemy" here--undeserving Grisolon, which is doing no work to build this rail station and taking all of the credit.

"It isn't fair! We've got a zillion cities down here, they have one, and the rest of the world thinks they should name this place after stupid Grisolon?" complained one disgruntled commuter. "Makes me yearn for the lawless days of private highways."

"I mean, maybe it fits better on a map than 'Ciudad Peralta' or whatever, but come on!" protested another. "What has Grisolon ever done?"

For their part, residents of Grisolon seemed pleasantly surprised at their unexpected moment in the sun. "We're part of the economy of this country, too. With internal trade and stuff, in an important sense it is our citizens and trade goods that are moving around. Even if we're not at the congested center, it's important for our contributions to the transportation system to be recognized," said an impromptu spokesperson.

"The Supercentro has everything. And let's face it, we're not much of a presence on the world scene anymore. These days, if it wasn't for a train station we may or may not actually have, who'd have ever heard of Grisolon?" mulled another.

"Just let them draw their maps," was the northeastern consensus. "What's the worst that could happen?"

This may actually be the most important question. Because while a retreat into peaceful coexistence with our neighbors and the rest of the world isn't the worst fate--actually, by our standards, it's kind of impressive--the world's apathy towards our state may well be a sign of broader peril in store. Perhaps it's fearmongering, but the instructive case of Zwangzug provides a notorious example. That country was no stranger to, shall we say, a little friendly competition of all sorts, with ancient tests of brilliance being given new light. And yet, when it came time to consider some of the nuances of the modern world, all sorts of apocalypses were feared.

Nobody can be exactly sure what happened in Zwangzug over the course of the last five months (plus or minus local time dilation policies). Objective news is still difficult to get from the chaos-torn country. But every city seemed to have its own impossible rumors. In Arlington, people feared the spread of four contagious epidemics, which could spread from city to city and wipe out the population. In Trink, there was news of violent explosions wrought by out-of-control fireworks. Bassabook's conservative language pundits were dumbstruck by the sudden appearance of banana trees, flourishing where the climate had never been welcoming. In Bingness district, everyone was lost for words--five at a time--as they were rendered moot trying to describe everyday items (except for the lipogrammers, who apparently carried on as normal). Romance was dead in Spenson, where hearts were broken constantly, and disillusioned astronauts went out to try and shoot the moon (with a crossbow). Needless to say, in the country's capital, Zwischen, anti-government sentiment was high, and underground resistance movements began trying to root out spies who had allegedly been covering up evidence of the paranormal. And as the last straw, the enormous FTC was supposedly brought to its knees when half of the surviving population turned into werewolves and preyed upon the others (we're thinking it was the eastern half).

Image
Zwangzug's rail system was always a colorful mess at the best of times. Now?

This is mostly impossible, of course, but it's unclear what condition the country is in now. Setting aside whether it might ever regain its luster, we might not know the truth for some time if at all. So if this is what Shell Shock Troop Clan has to look forward to, it's perhaps a bit unnerving.

All the same, we're still part of the international community, albeit under misnamed circumstances. Alea iacta est--again.

International sports: Lobyuseistvooshu, of the Stvoto Latosi league, have confirmed the signing of Lilavati Kanwar, a center-back with some limited experience in the World Cup qualifiers of bygone seasons. Her contract with the Red, Gray, and Chartreuse is expected to be for five seaons.

CYG: Hondo FC, Raynor City United
AOCL: Raynor City United

Valanora's (VAL) Final Site Bids
Champions Cup 59: Artani (74,000), Mar Sara - Located in the heart of Mar Sara, this modern stadium was built just over three decades ago with the best technology that the world has to offer. It is owned and operated by Mar Sara FC of the Elven Premier League and is routinely used by the VFA for domestic cup Final sites when a Mar Sara side is not in the Final. Artani offers all the best money can buy when it comes to a quality stadium and hopes to welcome all to the bread basket capital of Valanora.

Series B Champions Cup 56: The White Fortress (70,000), Gladerial - The legendary White Fortress stadium is one of the oldest stadiums and most magnificent in all of Valanora. It still retains its original architecture, having not undergone renovations like The Battleground. It has actually been used as a fortress at time to time in the history of nation and its unique structure makes for a loud and intimate atmosphere.

Cygnus Cup 34: The Battleground (78,000), Raynor City - In the middle of the sprawling capital of Valanora, The Battleground is one of the oldest stadiums in the country. It underwent a major renovation nearly sixty years ago to become the premier and largest stadium in all of Valanora. Rail from all over the capital have stops outside the stadium making it easily accessible to all citizens and visitors to Valanora's capital. It has hosted several domestic and international Finals and is used to the commotion that large scale matches create and can accommodate all with proper security and seating. While not as new as Artani, the renovations made to the stadium have made it the premier stadium of Valanora.

UICA Partner Bid
Image
Viella Incorporated (VI) is bidding to be the UICA partner for Super Cups 60-67. They are a multinational corporation, and the largest company in Valanora, that deals with developing, publishing, and distributing technological software (ex. video games) and hardware (televisions, consoles, etc...), who have a fine history of sponsoring both sporting competitions as well as clubs, including previously being the partner of the UICA Super Cup. They routinely publish the UICA Manager series and provide versions that are two years old for free via digital clients, having taken quite well to the innovations of modern society.

Phase 1 - Regional Leagues (Ligas Regionais)
There are 8 regional leagues composed of 4 clubs each. The clubs play against each other in the league in a small round-robin tournament.

The champions and runners-up in each Liga Regional qualify for the Copa Julio I and for the first division of the Liga C&C.

The third and fourth places of each Liga Regional play the second division of the Liga C&C.

Phase 2 - Copa Julio I
The champions and runners-up of the Ligas Regionais qualify for the playoffs of the Copa.

The roud of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals are played in home and away matches.

- Away goals rule applies
- There are no extra-time or penalty shoot outs. The team with the best results in the respective Liga Regional will pass to the next stage in case of tie in the two matches with no away goal difference.

The final is played in one single match in neutral field.

Two surprises on this season's Ligas Regionais, as Carcaju FC and Águias, which had won all the previous editions of their respective Ligas (Liga do Condado do Oeste and Liga Imperial) failed to make the top half of the score, thus not qualifying for the Copa Júlio I and the First Division.

GWFA Season 7

Super League
Leverstock Green Rovers looked like giving this season a fairytale story by leading for so long, but were eventually caught by St Albans City stunning run of form. Bovingdon FC and Bricket Wood FC also made it into the Top 4. At the other end, Cassio Club suffered immediate relegation, Sporting Tudor ended 6 years in the Super League, and Harlequin Islanders never got going.

Challenge League
Abbots Langley FC surprised nobody by winning the Challenge League. Welwyn Garden City took their second chance to win promotion after failing last season. In the playoffs, a dream came true for small side South Mimms FC, as they beat Vicarage FC to win promotion, the smallest ever side to make it to the Super League. Nash Mills, Galleria and Boreham Wood were all relegated.

National League
In the last season before the regional split, Hatfield FC came from the playoff places to win the league, and were followed by Bury Lake Mariners. Harpenden were winners in the playoffs, disappointing many, such as Shenley, who had led for much of the season. Only 2 teams were relegated due to the league restructuring, it was the 2 rookie teams in the National League, Gade FC and South Hemel United.

Perhaps it's not too common for a defender on the thirteenth-placed club to be arguably the fans' favorite player. A pundits' first instinct would be to consider what that means about the three teams that did worse, and the commonality is obvious—not only are they all defensive-minded sides themselves, they have all been recently terrible. Namiri Forest, 102d Jr.s, and Arlington City have combined for two finishes outside the bottom three among them, over the course of the past four seasons. They duly proceeded not to add to this in a season marked by equal inertia at the top of the table; between Matilda Kratochvil back on the bench and Nadine Roark commanding the back line, Excelsior Slogda remained unstoppable.

Unstoppable, that is, but for all the other crises besetting the country. Every city has its own version of events, and every fantastical conspiracy theory has been met with a much more down-to-earth explanation. Consider Sharag, home of mid-table Namiri Independent. Could it really have been beset by dragons and unicorns, or is it more likely a couple of stray dogs got loose and caused havoc? The official account is the prosaic one, but for more and more people, the official government account is untrustworthy. Look at the state of the country now—barely competent to reestablish communications with the outside world, after months of isolation, and no guarantee this tentative connection will endure.

Ironically, it's here in Zwischen that everyone seems to agree on at least half the story—bands of disgruntled citizens, paranoid that the government has been keeping dark secrets from them, organize into cells to strike blows against the authorities, with mixed results thanks to infiltration from loyalists. Really can't argue with that. Now, the extent of the secrets being kept, and the actual culpability of the state in the events that have transpired, are still up for dispute. But people certainly are complaining.

And they have a popular hero in a voice that was...shall we say...anti-establishment even before the crises. Percy Eskridge, defender for Spenson Suburbia, was infamous for his speculation about the possibility of werewolves, dismissed by most as an elaborate nickname for more violent countries' gangs of mafia. No one took him seriously...until the day when the FTC woke up concerned about full moons and suchlike. To them, he was a man before his time. To the so-called resistance movements in the capital, he was an inspiration. And, of course, back in Spenson, he was—to call a spade a spade—diamond in the rough season that the club had.

Spenson's campaign began with a 4-2 defeat to joint-leaders Arlington City, which tells you something about how they had it—Arlington, to put it briefly, equalling their win total from last season (they'd win four more! ...and remain last). The Suburbians played kingmaker (perhaps a dangerous choice of words, but whatever) once more on Matchday 7; by losing to the Bassabook Old Boys, they let BOB retake the top spot from our own Ephesian (who had beaten Bassabook the previous week).

Thanks to a mix of experience, Blake Fures' effervescent chap skills, Connor Ohme's stoic defense, and an unexpected supply of potassium, Bassabook remained top past the halfway point until Matchday 18. That's when they were held to a tradition outlasting basically anything fate can throw at the league...a scoreless draw with Namiri Forest. Slogda, for their part, found a late winner in Keppal City, and never surrendered the lead.

Alaisti wouldn't actually clinch until Matchday 29, by winning in Trink, where fans are no longer allowed to set off firecrackers or anything for fear of triggering another round of the catastrophic fireworks of doom (or whatever they went through). Not that it mattered much since Bassabook were also losing to Sporting Esper. The Robins, along with Ephesian, were one of the league's most improved sides. This could be because their stadium isn't in Hope City itself, but rather outside. They were thus spared the ravages of fires that destroyed part of the city (how much depends on your source), believed to be caused by overstoking household fires with dangerous pokers. No doubt Jocelyn Chara-Fekapeu's ability had something to do with their rise as well.

Even FTC United, to their credit, held onto fifth place in a season when, no matter who you talk to, their name was as oxymoronic as ever. It's a new era for the Oxen, without their captain Martina Ruan, and perhaps for the country as a whole. It's unclear whether anyone will have the finances or ambition to reform the national team after what we've been through. Of course, even if they did, we'd probably still be saying that they won't have a captain whose unafraid passion for her country shines through quite like Ruan.

And yet even she wasn't the same kind of popular hero that Eskridge has become, by chance or by design. If she was one to sing her nation's praises, or at least stand up for democracy in dangerous locales rather than keep her head down and leave it to others, he is a cry from the outside—a forerunner of resistance, even to what by all accounts is still a democratic state. What's next for Sir Percival? Well, leading Spenson beyond...thirteenth place may yet prove to be a formidable grail quest. But at the end of the season, maybe, just maybe, UICA places linger again.

The Banijan Soccer League

Image

The Royal Soccer Association of Banija is proud to present the Banijan Soccer League to the sporting world. This is the top division of soccer in Banija, competing with gridiron football to be the nation's most popular sport. The Banijan Soccer League consists of 16 teams, who compete in two competitions. They compete for the league title, to be champions of the league. The other major competition that BSL teams compete in is the King's Cup, which all professional teams in Banija participate in, but is almost always won by a BSL team.

Currently, there is no second division for BSL teams to be relegated to, though one may be formed. The format followed for league play is a double round-robin. The format followed for the King's Cup is each round(round of 16, 8, and 4) all being two legged affairs(away goals rule as the 1st tiebreaker), with a random draw of who is at home first. The final is one match located at Frazier Field in the national capitol city of Istria. Breaks are given midseason to allow for the play of the King's Cup, and the King's Cup final is always held one week after the Final Day at the Banijan National Stadium in Istria. To start the beginning of a new season, a kickoff match is played between the King's Cup winners and the BSL winner(or, if they are the same, the 2nd place team of the BSL) at the National Stadium called the national kickoff match.

Herzegovina City derby between Gudre FC and HZCFC as they are both located in Banija's largest city.
Battle for Moravica's Heartland between FK Kurgan and Bagremovo United.
The Capitol Derby between FK Mostar and Briskol Football Club. Known as the most vicious due to ethnic tensions between the Slavic east side and the immigrant west side, who are both minorities in the Afrikaner dominated western half of the nation.
Duel of Oaxaca between South Oaxaca Sporting Club and Askatasuna Football Club.
The Twin Cities Cup between FK Berk and the Kliphout Sporting Club.

A 'final day' format is there for the last week of the regular season, with all games kicking off at the same time.

The deadline for entry to Champions’ Cup 59, Globe Cup 56, and Series B Champions’ Cup 56 is now confirmed to be 14:00 16:00 UTC on Wednesday, 2015-04-01 (extended because of NS downtime).

UICA to shift focus to ‘new grounds’
Marina Papacharalampous, head of UICA’s development and anti-discrimination campaign Football Everywhere, today announced a major restructuring of UICA competitions to achieve greater inclusiveness.

“For too long, UICA’s premier competitions have been off-limits to nearly everyone except those with exceptional footballing abilites,” she explained at the Olympic Tower press conference announcing the decision. “The solution was obvious: to make UICA more accessible, the football had to go.”

The new-look format will see the world’s top football clubs face off in a knockout series of home-and-away twenty-over cricket matches, and the team with the greater aggregate runs will advance. If the aggregate score is level, away runs will count double, and if still level, a super over will be played. If any match cannot be completed on the arranged date, the home team shall forfeit the tie, unless its captain is able to provide a complete and accurate explanation of the Duckworth–Lewis method.

Asked why cricket was chosen, Papacharalampous pointed out that it “synergizes with another of our diversity goals.” In the past, UICA’s stadium infrastructure regulations have barred matches from being played at venues with various defects, such as dead patches in the middle of the field. “With cricket, we don’t have to worry. UICA can take its world-class competitions to new grounds, grounds that would have been excluded in the past.”

Most of UICA’s commercial partners have welcomed the change, which will give them the opportunity to sell all-new licensed cricket merchandise to the members of the UICA football family. Tropicorp has been especially pleased with the decision to arrange the Super Cup as a single match at Tropicorp Park, with each of the three qualified teams batting and fielding against each opponent for ten overs. Regrettably, UICA has had little choice but to immediately terminate its contract with HAKK and cancel the Youth Cup, as the new format may prove to be unsuitable for children.

A new series of trophies will be commissioned for the four competitions, symbolizing their spiritual rebirth in the form of precious metals. The current cups have been donated to the world’s preëminent museum of football trophies—Alesanka Park in Yuba—although at press time it was rumored that they were being sent on consignment to Valladares in exchange for the Cup Winners’ Cup.

To avoid playing in winter, which would inevitably cause an unacceptable number of forfeited ties, the next season of competitions is being staged on an accelerated schedule. To facilitate this, member associations may enter their qualified football clubs by telegram to UICA rather than through the traditional newswire system.

As per this post, Jeckland would like to send the following teams to UICA competitions.

Champions Cup: Rack City Rangers
Globe Cup: Fingletown Thunder, Kyslo Cheetahs, Tyville Tornadoes

Site Bid
Series B Champions Cup - Harkenbury (cap 40,000)
Harkenbury is the most presitgious cricekt ground in Jeckland, located on the outskirts of Rack City.... which is currently ravaged by civil war, but that's not important. What is is that this ground offers a perfect venue for the revamped UICA competition. And remember, not voting for us just wouldn't be cricket.
Winners: N/A
Runners Up: WBC 30 & 31, Memorial Cup
Semi Final: CE 26, WBC 35, WLC 20

Procedural notes
  • Champions’ Cup titleholder Dwile Warriors (APX) has been included in the draw, although it failed to submit an entry.
  • The informal entries of The Sarian were accepted.
  • Although member associations are allowed a high degree of freedom in establishing a qualification system based on sporting merit, it is intended that qualification take place through a football competition, rather than a cricket one. All entries for this season have been accepted, but the regulations will be amended to this effect in the future.

Final site selection
As UICA’s Olympic Tower office was temporarily closed due to an infestation of crickets, the Selection Committee accepted an invitation to meet in Gregoryisgodistan instead.

Final site selection
The Selection Committee placed tarps with the names of the bidding venues over the empty stands of the Melbin Oval, and decided that whichever one was hit by the Melbin Cricket Club’s top batsman would be the “chosen one”. Unfortunately, he failed to score a boundary off the first four deliveries, and was bowled out on the fifth ball. Since all of his strikes landed within the ground, it was decided that the Melbin Oval in Melbin, Paripana will host the Globe Cup final.

(For more information, visit this thread: Polkopian Domestic League)

After the completion of last season, the Polkopian Premier League is underway, and the kickoff for next season is to begin shortly. Newly-promoted sides, Kalinka and Tamenkana, are seeking to solidify their position among the top tier of Polkopian clubs, whereas clubs like FC Valinkova, FC Rotislav, and Mordavia will all contend with Peeto Gordost' for the title.

Furthermore, the President of the PFA, the Polkopian Football Association, has now "Opened the Gates" of the league, and as of this season, Polkopian clubs are now allowed to scout foreign players and sign them, as well as sell Polkopian players to other teams. Of course, this has received mixed reviews from domestic coaches. Some believe that this will give their team a nice balance and is an opportunity to make the league more well-known internationally, whereas others believe that it may ruin some players' careers, who are used to playing with the same team their entire lives. Either way, this is an exciting turn for Polkopian football. We'll see how this next season pans out!
