Well I'm here now, so how about we discuss The Return: Insurgents then.
Like what stuff needs to happen with it, and what stuff you guys want? I mean activity on it is probably too low than it should be. We need more people to post on it and what not. Basically it needs a couple of more things to function properly. And of course, again, plot stuff.

To be fair, I think the primary reason why Return is having problems is lack of new RPers and interest. Considering its only just Nul I think. And it's pretty hard for just you Min, AA and me to carry the whole RP. Also Nul and Saint somewhat.
Not sure of everyone will agree though.

We have a core plot; that's everyone's WIP. Maybe it could use some polishing. Agencies, groups, people, the city itself. flesh out the things more and it might attract more people.... hopefully

Hmm, problem with fleshing out is that we don't know the outcome.
AA has been added to roster.
I also haven't yet voted on the poll yet coz I'm not sure whether I want to overhaul the rising or whether I want to merely improve it.

I personally think an overhaul is needed, particularly with the rather OP circle and stuff, and the plot itself, having two different plot lines for the militaristic group and the investigative group just doesn't feel like a good idea.

Mincaldenteans wrote:I voted for either the overhaul or the improvements for the Rising.
Issues with the first: Villains sprang up whenever it was convenient and we had no way to find out any information (about the Circle) unless it was official release - one battle after the next that simply pummeled the good guy at every step became tiring in the end.
Issues with the second: Finding able players that can play good villains that had a vested interest to keep up. Two plots were necessary because it was two distinct character development stories. Confrontation of good and bad was inevitable but sadly fizzled out.
Unless the OP solely takes command of the villains or melds the plot in some unique way that we don't need to worry about different sides. Over all a sense of direction and actual interest to invest the time creating and participating in it is required. That would mean a completely different focus on the Rising and how its managed and RP'ed.
And the Circle. Gald is concerned about overpowered figures, specifically the agents. Jess is worried on the science behind it, and both want a realistic outcome that seems convincing without being too 'outlandish'. There are so many things wrong with the aforementioned statement given the context of what the Rising was since the beginning: a literal scifi-action/drama. My concern has always been the sense of direction: The Circle went from secret organization to public threat and now a [possible] nation onto itself; tell me how THAT isn't outlandish in correlation to the specific OP agents and the advance researched and developed weapons the Circle is putting into the hands of key individuals? Of course its not, because it's a scifi-drama and that means fleshing out the Circle more to give a broad scope of who, what and why they are. Whether players can be part of the Circle is entirely up to the OP, but when it boils down to it, more information to fully grasp them is better than none or RP'ing it blind.
That said, despite my votes for improvements or overhaul, I'd sooner see a horror RP. It's been awhile and the one Whit ran some time ago had a lot of potential.

So basically, for one, we definitely need more lore on the Circle?
Also I agree with the horror RP being made before the rising and shit coz I'd really love to first of all restart the Whit Hills, second of all interbreed it with WLITD if people want to and just generally coz horror RP. Also two people besides me are still interested in space RP so I'll have to revive that project (much) later on and get that done eventually.

But that will probably not be a good idea, especially if it's alongside the horror RP you guys are thinking about. Oh well, I guess every mess up thing I could think up of manifested into one RP would just have to wait another time. But what was Whit Hills and WLITD like exactly?

WLITD went much further than Whit Hills, but both were different kinds of horror (WLITD one creature/demon, Whit Hills being suspense/thriller type if memory serves correctly).

I see. The kind of horror I was thinking up of would be the stuff of eldrich abominations, and twisted horrors.

We can combine WLITD with my Whittington Hills. I think that could be promising. The premises of Whittington Hills paved the way for creep Stepford Wives type of thing, but combining with shifters, body snatchers, demons, etc, could liven things up a bit.
