"Ask your instructors tonight, you will be introduced to them later on. I am not in charge of your academic time table here." Horton said before adding, "Also, an important lesson to all of you, in this army only ranking officers are addressed as 'Sir' or "Ma'am." You will address your immediate drill sergeants as with their full rank. As for someone like me, a Warrant, you can address me as 'Mister Horton' or 'Chief Horton' however you choose."

Darragh worried at the sound of haircut, although he kept his head shaved his culture demanded men grow full beards as a show of strength and adulthood. "Chief Horton, are beards required to go?" He asked.

David didn't mind the formal ways of White Rose, but he didn't exactly like them either. He was a casual guy, I mean, being formal in Lambert would get you killed. He believed Marcus was the same way, based on their chat. As David listened to questions, he began to lose his thoughts and listened to the others.

Ames enjoyed this, being yelled at. It reminded him of Basic Training. He wanted to impress the Warrant officer, Chief Horton, and try to get on his good side. He tried to display his prior military training with every order he was given, though he started to feel self conscious about his uniform; it was getting heavy and hot in the sun. Hearing the bit about the haircut, Ames got curious. His hair was cut in the New Roman Imperial Army style. "Sir, is my current haircut alright, or do I need one as well?" Ames asked, without realizing his Roman helmet was still on.

OOC: Just a FYI, the Army hair cut is buzzed (guard size 2) around the sides, and a guard size 3 on top.

"Of course! How else could you use a gas mask in combat?" Renate thought for herself when she heard Darragh's question. She didn't say it loud though, it was for the Warrant Officer to answer.

She too had her doubts about the hair cut. Even if she loved her long hair, she could see the necessity in cutting it for practical purposes. But she refused to cut it in a masculin way! She was a proud Bad Nazi woman, and she would never allow them to shave her head as if she was somea concentration camp intern.

Nevertheless, she kept listening to the WO with full attention.

Phuoc Thang rolled his eyes, while silently emitting a breath of exasperation. Unbelievable is the word he is expressing. He had to come all the way here not just to learn new military tactics and the circumstances of being a good officer, but to get wasted of his good hairstyle. A haircut? Really? Isn't my hair just fine, he thought.

His country''s military allowed hairstyles of his kind - the cool kind: emo hair and spiked hair, although long hair has to be braided or cut short and no exceptions of hairstyles that are mohawk-like. Officers of all branches of the military allowed the recruits' hairstyle to be kept, but if severe misdemeanor revolves around any single one of them, they will be threatened to be shaved of their hair. Unbelieveable. It is unbelieveable, indeed, that Phuoc Thang would end up like somebody who misbehaves during training. However, if he would ever dare to disobey his superior's orders, it would end up worse than just getting stripped of his great hair. Still keeping onto the rope of respect, he would never dare question the orders he was given.

"We expect each and everyone of you to adhere to our grooming standard. That means, yes, if you're a cadet, you need to be clean shaven, your hair need to be cut. If you have any problems with that I suggest you take it up with your Head of Government, your provincial Lieutenant Governors, Kings, Presidents, whoever gets you here in this place." Horton somehow raised his voice. New intake are always like this.

"When in Rome, do as the Roman do. If you're so rigid and unable to adapt to the culture here, it means you don't belong here. Don't worry you gents will look better that way I promise you and the ladies here loves clean shaven, clear cut military gentlemen. For the ladies, you have it easy...it's not compulsory for you to cut your hair if they're long, but we do expect you to groom yourself like lady officer, graceful but still a badass capable of kicking the butt of all the 'men' here."

Then somebody wearing a helmet interjected, asking whether his hair cut is OK.

"Open your helmet and let everyone see, cadet."

OOC: Well pretty much the same, No.3 topside, No.2 on the side.

"If there's no question we will begin sorting you guys into your temporary team."

Darragh nodded solemnly "Very well sir" he said, trying to keep any contempt absent from his voice and to keep a neutral tone.

First day in the program, and Maseng was already screwing up. Socially, anyway.

The cadet he tried to talk to was apparently asleep, a fact he only realised after some prodding. For the rest of the ride, he just lay back and relaxed. He soon got up, however, when the bus came to an abrupt stop. "This is our destination, huh?" He said out loud. The facility was quite massive, especially in comparison with the small camp he had trained in for most of his soldiering life. When the officer called for attention, his hands immediately snapped to his sides and his bag dropped to the ground. He listened intently to the Warrant Officer as he spoke about, well, a lot.

When the man began to talk about the cadet's hairstyles, Maseng couldn't help but giggle a litle at the more outlandish one some of them had. His superiors in the Republic would probably get them to do a bunch of push-ups if they saw them. His hair had already been shaved neatly before his departure; he was certainly prepared. The other cadets seemed like an interesting bunch of people. Maseng looked forward to working, living and training with them for the years to come.

That was a relief! Renate certainly didn't want to look like some jarhead. She was also glad that the Aeyariss seemed to value beauty just as much as her homeland. Eager to start as she was, she hoped no one had any further questions.

Come on, you guys! Can we get this over with so we can get haircut, and then eat lunch, Phuoc Thang thought. He was directing it towards those that were stalling the whole group. He wanted to get this over with. He was getting real hungry. Really hungry in the rate that he could just sit on the ground and starve and even interrupt the warrant officer in the end. But still, his mind was still in respect mode. Soon after, the urge to cry out in plea for food had diminished.

Not for the first time, Anton suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. He could stand to attention as long as the Warrant Officer needed them to and he was good at keeping his face blank but, if his fellow students were the cream of their respective nation's crop, it wasn't going to take much effort to wipe the floor with them. Some of them appeared to have bizarre misconceptions about what a real army looked like and just as many had no idea how to properly address their seniors. Do we have to call you sir, he thought, his internal voice dripping with sarcasm that he could and would never have said aloud. No, of course not. It's not as if this is the army. Some of these pups aren't fit to shine my boots.

The hair cutting wasn't going to be an issue for him. The genetic fairy had blessed Anton in a number of ways and then hit him with her best shot when his guard was down - he had the gift of an excellent metabolism that helped him stay trim and in shape, his face lean but never straying into gauntness, and his black hair fell naturally into a movie-star style that never needed working on...and then, just as Anton began to get vain over his appearance, started balding at a rapid rate. Try as he might, no hairstyle could look cool with a growing bald spot and at twenty-two, he'd got drunk and strong-armed three of his friends into shaving his head. His memories of the night were patchy at best, but he distinctly remembered slurring "And if hair think it ain't good enough for my head, THEN FUCK IT, it don't get to grow any more! SLAVA! CLIPPER ME!"

Suffice it to say, it was not one of his proudest memories, but Anton couldn't help but feel a little grateful to his younger self now for taking the plunge.

Horton took a quick glance once the peculiar looking helmet was off, moving further ahead toward the ranks of the cadet in order to get a quick look, moments later he decided that it was somewhat close to White Rose grooming standard.

"Could be trimmed a little bit more, but yeah, you're good." He concluded.

"Right, one final word from me; you lot are one lucky bastards to be able to enter to this place - especially those from abroad - hundreds thousand applied every year and we only accepted a few hundred at one time. Do not waste this opportunity. Learn as much as you can, as fast as you can. Do things right the first time. You'll survive it. Remember, when the going gets tough, the tough keep going." Horton allowed himself to smile for the first time.

"Drill sergeant take charges. See to it that the task assigned to you is completed by 1700 Hour. Good luck. I'll see you again soon."

"Group, atten-TION!" Staff Sergeant Fasbach, the senior drill sergeants among everyone there barked out his command with a tone and voice not less powerful than the chief.

"Carry on!" Chief Horton said, waving his right hand off as he walked back into the museum.

"Alright, you greenhorn listen up carefully, when we called out your name step out of the formation, marched to the front, and take your name card." As soon as the processing event continued, the sun decided to showed itself once again and the full fury of the afternoon sun began to takes its form.

The roll call was conducted bus by bus, and simultaneously, three sergeants yelled out names at the same time, which would definitely cause some confusion if somebody goofed off. Sergeant Axel, assigned to the international cadets began his duty. He stepped right in front of the platoon, took a look into the tablet he brought with earlier and checked the names on his rosters.

"Winslet, Katniss!"

"Veslaxous, Ecarious!"

"Thang, Quyen!"

"LeCroix, Marcus!"

"Tulsih, Darragh!"

"Estonwilz, Frank!"

"Ames, Jonas!"

"Heidler, Renate!"

"Gohver, Maseng!"

"Richardson, David!"

"Pavlovic, Sokol!"

"Kharitonov, Anton!"

"Gozum, Anika!"

...the call continued until Axel reached the final 28th names on the list.

"And last but not least, Cross, Jackson."

Renate stepped forward when her name was called. She stopped in front of sergeant Axel and stood at attention, raised her right arm to her forehead in a salute and clapped her heels together, in classic Prussian manner.

"Renate Heidler, hier!"

She hoped she was doing it right. The empire could very well have different traditions than Bad Nazis, and she didn't want to make a fool out of herself. She was the Führer's daughter, after all.

"Kharitonov, Anton!"

Anton suppressed a grimace. The man's accent was atrocious and anywhere else, he would have spoken up to correct it immediately. Taking his cue from the woman with the long hair, Anton broke ranks and marched smartly to stand to attention in front of the man with the name card. Snapping a neat salute, he stamped gently but firmly - not enough to raise sparks, but enough to raise a sound - and replied "Lieutenant Anton Kharitonov, sir." He was tempted to add his patronymic, but there was formal and then there was showing off.

All 213 name cards were distributed not more than 10 minutes after Warrant Officer 1 Horton's initial speech, well it wasn't quite a speech really, which luckily for the young men and women weren't that long, as the skies above the academy dissipated, allowing the sun to shine its full force in what will become another typical blistering hot afternoon. The pavement started to heat up, and the fact that White Rose is located next to the ocean didn't help either. Half more hour standing at parade attention, these people would start developing sunburn. Well at some point they will experience it for sure.

Administratively, the 213 cadets are divided into 3 understrength companies, with about 70 or so plus size strong, and each further divided into 3 different platoons, with average platoon numbered about 21 men and woman. In terms of demographic, 97% of the new intake are local Aeyarissan, while the remaining came from abroad, from other allied SACTO nations and non SACTO nations. In terms of age, the oldest was a 29 years old and the youngest is just 18 years of age. Gender wise, it was about even, 120 male officer cadets, and 103 female officer cadet. Well pretty soon, these number will dwindled down as time goes by, and they always do. Some will wash out, some will be kicked out and some perhaps might even met their untimely death here during training. Perhaps, things like that are possible and it had happened in the past. On average the passing rate, where everyone here will graduate with a bachelor's degree and commissioned into the Imperial Armed Forces as Second Lieutenant are about 60% from every intake. Well perhaps this year this new intake will be lucky and pass a 100%. Perhaps.

Sergeant Axel introduced himself to the 5th Platoon, where the majority are foreigners, well it wasn't known yet why the academy policy is to group all the non aeyarissan in one special bunch instead of dividing them up and distribute them evenly among the other nine platoons, but so far they are to be grouped in a single platoon. The commandant, Major General Armstrong, had feared that the introduction of foreign cadets in what has been an Aeyarissan dominated would cause some friction - Aeyariss generally treats foreigner warily- and to allow them to group together would enables the academy to control and oversee them at once, and also to protect them.

Well, not that I care, breakdown in discipline and order will be squashed instantly here. Staff Sergeant Axel "Axe" von Stauffenberg thought out loud. Looking at the sorry bunch of civilian playing soldiers in front him. God, to think he will spend the next three years with them.

"Platoon, attention!" he commanded.

"My name is Axel von Stauffenberg, I will be the drill sergeant for this platoon."

"Listen up, from now on, you people are the 5th Platoon, Bravo Company. You are in 3rd Battalion of the 1st White Rose Regiment. All Year One junior cadets are assigned to the 3rd Battalion. When you complete the year, you will be assigned to the 2nd, the Intermediate battalion, and finally assigned to the 1st, the Senior battalion, at the end of your study here. As this moment, both the 2nd and 1st are outside somewhere doing some field exercise. You will be able to meet with your senior brothers and sisters after the week is out."

"You sorry looking bunch are at the bottom of the food chain. Everything here is based on a strict hierarchical system. You must respect and obey the orders of everyone senior to you. That includes intermediate and senior cadets, then your immediate senior drill sergeants, and of course, your superior ranking officers.

"As Chief Horton has said. You address everyone who wears an officer epaulettes on their chest as "SIRS" or "Ma'am", whenever you see them, if you are wearing uniform you must snap to attention, salute them smartly and greet them. As for non commissioned officers such as myself, those from Lance Corporals, Corporals, Sergeants. You do not salute them. You don't call them as sirs. Addressing them by their ranks is suffice."

"Those who did just now, well thank you, you made my day. No one ever saluted to me in the past." Staff Sergeant Axe said, which was a lie. First comer usually made a mistake.

"Now I will release you to your temporary dormitory. Do you see that green apartment buildings, 500 meters, to the right this building? That's your building. That's 3rd battalion dorm. The yellow and the brown as for 2nd and 1st respectively. Now gather your belongings, and follow the pathway and do not, I repeat, do not step on our fucking lawn. I caught you apes doing that, I'll promise you you'll eat nothing but grass for today.

"Oh, welcome to White Rose."

Axe looked around, and saw that the other platoons are ready to move out as well.

"Now, gather your belongings, you lot will be marching to your dorms by platoons to your dormitories. Don't worry we know you lot don't know shit about marching so today's is your only off day where we will cut you some slack. You have till 1330 H to rest, then assemble at the parking lot outside your dorms. A simple refreshment has been provided at the apartment lobby."

(After everyone gathered their belongings).

"Battalion, atten-TION!" Fasbach yelled out the order.

"Right, face!"

"Forward, march!"

"Battalion, halt!" Fasbach commanded, and the whole batch had just entered the barrack compound. Well, the 'barrack' was in fact several blocks of four storeys apartment building and not the typical single storey communal dorm - the regular recruit training yes, but this is White Rose, where the future leaders of the army are trained. The rigorous training will be hard on the weak, but the facility is world class.

The Green House, which all the first year will be stationed in, consisted of Block 1. Well, but the 200 plus intake will require less housing compared to that. A single house here is fit for a squad size unit up to 12 people at one time, and on every floor there is 15 houses each, so the whole building hold the capable of housing the entire 3rd Battalion. But half of these will be emptied, and on certain level, some of the houses will become the home of the respective drill sergeants.

A list of the temporary housing has already been organized:

1 Platoon - 301-303
2 Platoon - 303-305
3 Platoon - 305-307
4 Platoon - 307-310
5 Platoon - 310-312
6 Platoon - 312-315
7 Platoon - 401-403
8 Platoon- 403-405
9 Platoon - 405-407

"This will be a coed living. We will be enforcing strict gender equality here...but if that will make you ladies feel uncomfortable living in the same house as the guys, feel free to organize yourself, the ladies can live under the same room or houses."

"And you boys, don't be thinking about sex...sexual fraternization is highly prohibited here! I'll assure you, you won't have the time to think about it once you go through your first day schedule."

"Now, sort yourself, find a bunk mate - he or she will become your buddy partner throughout three years here."

Phuoc Thang then proceeded to find a bunk mate for his stay. He wasn't a promiscuous guy himself. He always respected others around him in his years in the academy, even girls, especially those of whom he befriended. The gender rules of this academy were corresponding with those of the academy he attended in his motherland. Furthermore, because he treated girls equally, he never developed a strong testosterone mindset when he was youngm unlike some of his friends back home. Even when he read manga that had such explicit, or at least somewhat explicit, images, he kept a strong defense in his mindset against the dreadful aspects of strong lustful desires. This trait led to Phuoc Thang's decision of not choosing a girl for his roommate. Phuoc Thang was indeed a respectful guy.

After looking out for a partner, he picked one that interests him, so that he can develop a good relationship with. That person was a male, a tall one indeed, named Darragh Tulsih.

"Hey, do you want to be bunk mates," he asked in a polite tone.

Marcus chuckled a bit under his breath as Fasbach finished speaking. Not about the gender equality thing, but about the fact that he thought that saying 'NO SEX ALLOWED' would do much ...
Marcus pushed the thought out of his head and looked around at his group. He shrugged, and though, Might as well find a guy. He turned to David and said, "Want to be buddies?", saying the last word in the voice of a three year old.

Renate slowly began to realize what she had signed up for. At least she thought so. The real training hadn't start yet, but she was sure it wouldn't be easy, but she was also sure she could handle it, and become stronger from it. Renate smiled and imagined how she would be celebrated by her country when she came home after graduation, as the first Bad Nazi to be a White Rose.

But first she would have to pick a partner. Her eyes fell on a handsome, blond man: Sokol Pavlovic. He looked very aryan. Renate decided to ask him. She walked up to him and felt a little nervous.

"Er... excuse me... Do you want to be my partner?" She smiled but still felt a little insecure, as she found the way she had expressed the question too childish and girly. Well, hopefully the White Rose could help to make her a real woman. And maybe this boy could do that too, although in another way.

Hitler died in 1938, Himmler, Goebbels, Göring and the other criminals lost their power in the following power struggle and the Reich became a "regular" corrupt dictatorship). It's based/stuck in the 1950s - 60s, but thanks to Die Glocke we can interact with all worlds. WWII still happened, but ended in a tie. Some Wunderwaffe exist (such as UFO:s and Die Glocke), as well as revived dinosaurs.

This is only a parody nation. I do not endorse National Socialism in any way, nor the people associated with that ideology.

Quen Minh wrote:Phuoc Thang then proceeded to find a bunk mate for his stay. Even when he read manga that had such explicit, or at least somewhat explicit, imager, he kept a strong defense in his mindset against the dreadful aspects of strong lustful desires. This trait led to Phuoc Thang's decision of not choosing a girl for his roommate. Phuoc Thang was indeed a respectful guy.

After looking out for a partner, he picked one that interests him, so that he can develop a good relationship with. That person was a male, a tall one indeed, that was named Darragh Tulsih.

"Hey, do you want to be bunk mates," he asked in a polite tone.

Darragh had, in all honesty, been daydreaming while the drill sergeant explained everything My aren't they just imaginative with the rules he thought to himself before inwardly laughing. He had been interrupted from his daydreaming when the Quen Minh officer trainee approached him, Phuoc Thang, or at least that's what Darragh thought he'd heard.

"Why not?" He replied, shrugging "Not like I'm gonna get a better choice" he added, before picking up his stuff "So whose top bunk and whose bottom?"

David laughed at the way Marcus said "buddies" to him. He was right, it was a pretty childish word. "Hell yeah, we can be... buddies . The place looked really nice compared to where he lived back home, where he lived in a small, roughed up apartment. The rule "no sex" disappointed David, he had lots of testosterone that he had mustered throughout the years and despite his age had done it a few times. The word buddies came back to him. How could such a childish word be used in such a formal place?, David wondered. It didn't matter did it? He thought. Anyway, on David continued his new journey in White Rose...

Marcus nodded as David said buddies in the same childish voice as he had. He picked up his bag, and said to David, "A quick warning. I should probably sleep on the bottom, because not only do I get up at five o'clock every morning, but I toss and turn so much that I almost the top bunk once.
After he said the part about waking up at five, Marcus was suddenly very glad he had brought his coffee maker. He had heavily modified it to make his coffee super strong, so strong that when his father, a heavy coffeeholic, had tried it, he said it was like hearing colors. Marcus had never really been bothered by it, but he thought David would find it funny all the same. He told David the story as he picked up his stuff, and then asked, "So. Where do you want to go?"
