Apox National Information

So you've managed to qualify for this "Cup for Chaps", wot? And now you find yourself stuck in this country called Apox for the finals, eh? Well, there's rather a few things you should know, old fruit, to make your stay here as splendid as it could possibly be. Have a quick gander down the information recorded below to make sure you'll fit right in. Rah!

COUNTRY HISTORY

Apox was founded 584 years ago by migrants from the north of our continent in Esportiva, with a large influx of people coming from The Licentian Isles from the East and from Uitbregen in the West. The capital Dwile was established in 14 A.T (Apoxian Time) and has been the cultural and financial centre every since, in it's prime location in the middle of the country, whilst also being on the coast, therefore providing an extra level of accessibility for those who prefer to travel by sea.

After war against Cyborg Holland, for the southern county of Olfa, Apox in it's current form was established in the late 460's A.T. Since then, it has thrived in relative peace and freedom, with our semi-democratic state watching over. A civil war between 550-555 A.T led to Apox becoming more democratic, and it emerged from the ashes a stronger nation on all fronts, with our first leader, Lord Winklebottom, driving through a great deal of change. Apox becamse less isolationist and joined in the regional affairs of Esportiva, our standing growing in the region so much so that the regional delegacy of Esportiva was until recenly held in Apox, with Jemima Cafrew still maintaining an important position in regional affairs after being the regional delegate.

TRANSPORTATION

Apox has a quite varied road system, with the roads around Dwile being very well maintained, but with the roads further away often being one-track and almost dirt paths. However, our railway system, the Apox National Railway is a very good service, and is one of the most reliable railways in Esportiva. Our four main airports Dwile Capital Airport, Mandon District Airport (just outside Dwile), Gwinevra Airport and Urbanista Regional Airport are spread out over the country and have flights from many countries.

SPORTS
It's been 22 years now since Apox emerged from the wilderness to compete in the 48th Baptism of Fire and you'd be amazed at the levels you can achieve in such a short time, with the Apoxian National Football Team having made it through four World Cup Finals, including hosting the finals of the 69th World Cup, having reached a high of 18th in the KPB rankings a couple of cups ago after becoming the first team from Esportiva to advance to the knock-out rounds of the World Cup.

Domestically, the Apox National League is the biggest league the multiverse, having attained a high of being ranked 1st in the UICA rankings in it's 16th season of professional organised play, with five clubs; FC Endeavour, Dwile Warriors, Barbury Town, Urbanista and Gwinevra Barbarians ranked inside the top 50 clubs in the UICA rankings.

Apox is also a key player in various sports organisations, the Presidency of the Rugby World Cup being in Apox, as well as the dual-Presidency of international cricket being in Apox until recently. Most excitingly, and most recently, the vice-Presidency of the WCC, the organising committee for multiversal football has moved to Apox, with Miriam Whittaker, the President of the AFB, moving post as a result.

Here is the Gregoryisgoidstan soccer team's roster. Our team is nicknamed the Foot Slaves. Our style modifier is -5

Coach: Horse Beater KFIU9140

Gregoryisgodistani names have the title first, which is usually whatever job they have. Then comes either the government ID sequence (for commoners) or the name (for government VIP's.) If that is the same, they are the same person even if the title is different. However, government VIPs can change their name whenever they want.

All players play domestically in the Gregoryisgodistan Soccer League except as noted. Only government VIPs are permitted to play club soccer outside Gregoryisgodistan. All clubs are accurate as of the last UICA cycle.

Lineup:

GK Prune Farmer 3818F - Prune Farmers FC
DL Police Agent Jorge Warlord - FC 17 June
DC Government Advisor Lordborn Godsam - FC 17 June
DC Secret Police Agent Dominic Button - Police Squad
DR Executioner 98481 - Club de Executioners
DMC Pervert Chaser 867530PNC - Capital District Crushers
ML Hacker Fred'); DROP TABLE Rosters;-- - Rouyn-Noranda Coal Diggers FC (Quebec)
MR Prune Farmer 913881 - FC 17 June
OMC Guy Who Cleans Up Behind The Elephant at the Circus P0120AZNNAU - Coastal Soccer Club
FW Soccer Captain Laredo Potato (C) - London FC (Quebec)
FW Slave Beater SUAXMC91 - FC 17 June

Bench:

GK Cow Herder 91291A - FC 17 June
GK Slave Chaser ASUFU8348SG - Coastal Soccer Club
DL Grammar Enforcement Officer ZZNNKUMBYA - Coastal Soccer Club
DC Chef 82718138 - Coastal Soccer Club
DC Soldier X92OSKDSNFSNDFN - FC 17 June
DR Decapitated Head-to-Bomb Converter DHU83818 - Coastal Soccer Club
ML/MR Pervert Chaser KIS9DLLMZMAABDB - Missile Minders
MC/OMC/DMC Slave Beater SUAXMC91 - FC 17 June
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Death to San Jose Guayabal (Winnipeg United - QUE)
FW Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Robert Possibe - Real Campo Grande (Valladares)

Notes: Pervert Chaser 867530PNC and Pervert Chaser KIS9DLLMZMAABDB both played for AC Pervert Chasers in the most recent season, but with that club being relegated, the club could not afford them with the salary limits imposed by the second division and sold them to move to the newly promoted Capital District Crushers and Missile Minders. Those two teams had just been promoted, and with the greater salary limits imposed by the top division, signed them from ACPC. Also, Loyal Friend of Lord Almighty Gregory Death to San Jose Guayabal formerly played for the Gregoryisgodistan Special Administrative Zone national team, but as that team has been permanently disbanded, all players are eligible to play for Gregoryisgodistan.

OOC: If you don't get the hacker reference, see this comic. If you still don't get it, entering that name as a database input in certain programming languages will delete all the rosters from the file. Feel free to RP this crashing your computers or something like that. By the way, Fred's younger brother, Hacker John'); DROP TABLE Rosters;-- is on the junior hockey team.

Uniforms (by Libertad Sportswear):
Image

From left to right, our home kit, our away kit, and our third kit (in case of clash.)

Home games will be played at Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium, the newly rebuilt national stadium in Capital District. It was rebuilt following the Wolfopian terrorist attack (OOC: a false flag by Gregoryisgodistan's government) and seats 175,617. It is a guaranteed sellout for every game since people will be forced to attend if it does not sell out.

Image

RP Permissions: Basically, do whatever you want but expect reciprocation. If you card my players, I'll card yours. If you kill my players, I'll kill yours. Just don't kill Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state and alleged deity. Also, if you are going to refer to my nation by a different name for IC reasons (like Gregoryisnotgodistan) please either TG me or leave an OOC note saying you are referring to Gregoryisgodistan. I frequently search for mentions of my nation, but if it's not mentioned by name, that doesn't help. So either mention it by name in an OOC note or TG me to give me a heads up. You don't need to wait for permission with the TG, but please send it so I can respond to the RP. Also, striking out the "isgod" part (as in Gregoryisgodistan) causes it to not show up on the search, so this will not fulfill the notification requirement. However, feel free to use that style as long as you either mention me by name without the strikethrough in the same post or TG me to let me know about the post. Also, no completely unrealistic scoring events such as 80 meter goals.

Part 7

Postby Star United States » Tue Jan 20, 2015 3:38 pm

OCC: To get a some background info, please feel free to read "Into the City," thank you.

The Rise and Fall
Chapter 3, President's Speech
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
The Battle of Jarille | An Ending to the War? | Into the City | President's Speech

“Lake Star,” he thought. The words echoed through his head. “This is it. It ended here, and out of all places, I have to give my announcement here at the battlefield.”

He got up from his comfortable seat, and made his way to the exit of the plane. Although he does not like the fact that so many had died, “well,” he thought, “time to lead a country.”

As he walked out the plane, he felt the warmness of the sunlight. His eyes begun to adjust to the lighting of the bright sun.

“Woah,” said President Tyson. “It does not look like a battlefield here,” he thought.

He went down the stairs, with one guard behind him, and another in front. They just won the war, they could not lose the President, especially not at a moment like this. He entered the black vehicle that was waiting for him at the bottom of the steps.

In the car he sat quietly. He looked out the window, and he could see what the war actually did. He landed in an untouched sector, but unlike that area, these areas are devastating. He, also, started to review his speech.

Before he knew it, the car came to a stop. He looked out the window. He was in the heart of Lake Star. He looked up to see if he could get a glimpse of the flag but, that was currently out of his vision. Suddenly, the door of the car was opened. He stepped out.
Instantly, he looked up. There it was. In the sky, it flew. The new Starian flag flying Star United States into a new era.

He walked past the flag pole, and towards the podium. After a few minutes of waving to the crowds and greeting, he arrived at the metallic podium. He took a deep breath and smiled. He took a glance at his note cards but, discarded it at the last moment.

“Good morning my fellow Starians. I am here to inform you of what is happening. The Blun Communist State is no more, as most of us are aware. We have prevailed. Freedom as prevailed. United forever, never indivisible.”

He took a look around, nodding and smiling to the people around him. He looked up at the flag behind him.

“Behind me, you can see the new Starian flag. It flies high and proud. It has replaced the misery brought upon the flag of the Blun Communist State with happiness and joy.

It as to be a symbol of hope and peace, not of discouragement and violence without a cause. It is to be a symbol of love, not of hate. It is the symbol that represents us.

Everyday that you see our flag swaying, we shall think of the freedom that it brings over our land and what is stands for, not what it replaced.

Many lives have been lost, and I feel much sorrow for this. However, I salute to those who fought bravely for what they believed in. May we have a moment of silence for all the lives that were lost during this war.”

Silence came upon the crowd. The metal edge of the flag could be heard colliding into the pole.

“Our flag, our hope, our love, our freedom, our everything has prevailed.

Our glorious land has been a variety of forms of government, from a Federal Republic, to a Republic and Communist, plus many smaller administrative regions.”

He paused, and took a big breath, once again.

“However, it is time to unite, in perfect harmony, under one government. Although our flag does represent our hope - it also represents the Utopian Republic of Star United States.

I know that we cannot reach a perfect place, as there is only one place as such, which is where the throne of God sits, heaven. I do know, and certainly believe, that together we can get as closest as possible to it.

Everything in harmony. It is possible.

Long live Star United States.”

President Tyson ended his speech, and was directed back into the car, while the crowds cheered on.

The Republic of Star United States
Star United States Islands

4. The country shall be directed by the 'Head Council.' Elections for this council shall take place every ten years (Starian Calender).

The national team features a 3-1-3-3 line up, forming an hexagon where Mathias Paatelainen chosen to use three defenders with some experience like James Moreira and Meyson Salume, both can act as key players if we talk about the realization of transitions to offensive plays meanwhile Passarelli is the team sweeper and also most experienced of the team in terms of playing in the international scene, specifically in UICA tournaments. In the midfield we can see a rhombus shaped position of four players, being Saucedo and Bregoo a kind of fake forwards due to the changing role of the tactical system that can feature five forwards in case of need and Núñez together with Valencia can be sort of defence in case of need. In resume this strategy helps in defence and attacking because it can turn into a 3-2-5 in attacking moments or a 5-2-3 in defending moments, creating a complete system that can help the team to achieve victory at any cost.

There is three words to describe the game style of La Selecta being that: efficience, speed and withe, something that makes the team look solid at any time, no matter the game but it is a team that rarely gives up, even if the conditions are totally against, the team tries to score early, to score the highest amount of goals and going decidedly to the front in order to score, to fight with courage every ball and also having a high esteem and sense of unity as a team.

Play style: The game who SJG does is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement from the players, using their intelligence for the game to find lone spaces and perform single passes that are very accurate and "in depth", they like to accumulate players while attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counter attacks that usually have a good level of effectivity, taking in consideration that this is a team who thinks in score the goals as fast as possible instead of defending (Well known as "The Kill or Die Philosophy." Which is the most used tactic on Guayabalense football throughout his history), something that they do even when they face a football powerhouse or a extremely offensive team, no matter the rival, the objective is score the highest amount of goals and win the three points.

In the defence area, they tend to use physical game style in order to set conditions to the rivals, despite that the defenders are of medium height, they are well known for their skill at aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat them, specially in corners or set pieces, expect always fair play from this team, avoiding to do fouls into the last 25-30 meters of their defence area.

Players normally like to do long-distance shots or seek for chances in aerial game via set pieces or corners, specially with Árbol Saucedo and Mattías Passarelli, who are the tallest players of the entire squad. Still, this team can do some special moves, considering the idea of the team of never give up and trying to be efficient while attacking.

The Manager

Mathias Paatelainen 64 Y/O, Nationality: Polarian (Valhallan) Image

Considered as an "old fox" by many analysts all over the Multiverse, emphasis in Rushmore, this manager has an excellent experience across domestic teams in Polar Islandstates and with a somewhat recognizable as the championship triumph achieved a couple of seasons ago in the Lattitude Cup with Red Star Severny, after leaving his country to face its first challenge in national teams, Paatelainen has achieved a good level with nacinal selection, achieving many successes and also leading her to her first WC Finals in just three years building the national team, but has fallen into a little bump, the coach with an offensive vision game plans to increase the level of the national team and have to rise to the level of Multiverse and avoid the reputation of being a "yoyo" team.

Starting XI Bio

Henry "Spider" Hernández 25 Y/O, Goalkeeper of AC Tallin (VLD) Image

The player in charge of the last defence bastion on the team, Hernández has demonstrated that he's a very secure goalkeeper during the last three cycles, specially the last one when we reached the WC Finals and he saved our goal from several goal chances from the rival sides, now Hernández wants to allow less goals than the last campaign, with the sole purpose of leading SJG for his second WC appearance.

James Moreira 19 Y/O, Left Defender of Canterlot Royals (EQS) Image

Young but experienced, Moreira is the typical player who can receive love or hate, his special location in the roster mades him a key player in terms related to defending, being the sweeper but also being one of the creators of the game, despite falling in nerves sometimes the youngest of their football dynasty family as the Moreiras are, his good leadership and attitude makes him being an excellent player in the team.

Mattías Passarelli 25 Y/O, Central Defender of Delare Minon (YTT) Image

The oldest of the defenders in the Starting XI and also the one with more experience in the team, Mattías played in the NT since they were an almost amateur-ish side, he played in Alianza FC and achieved three titles, enough to do his move to the Yttribian powerhouse of Delare Minon, when he got another three league tournaments including one solid run in the UICA Globe Cup made him a worship idol for the fans of the team, he doesn't plans to move of the team, because he feels the love of the fans.

Meyson Salume 18 Y/O, Right Defender of East Franz Athletic (PIS)Image

The reliable Salume is back, after being injured for some matches, the strongest player of the teams is now in action to keep the order in the defence, his role is defend but he does the task of midfielder quite often, his strong point of being tall makes him an ideal player to keep the National Team without many troubles, but his slow speed can make some trouble over there, and can do more due to his motivaion caused due to his arrival to Polarian lands

Rudy Valencia 23 Y/O, Midfielder (Destroyer) of Oakstone (EUR) Image

The globetrotter of San José Guayabal, a player who did his labour in three nations like Mangolana, and Chiata, now is in Eura to show his quality, Valencia's role is being the destroyer of any attempt of play creation in the midfield, his confidence is a strong point for him but his loose reaction when gets booked it's a trouble for SJG, specially to avoid red cards.

Sebastián Núñez 20 Y/O, Left Midfielder of SK Nasjonale Hauker (PIS)Image

Probably one of the youngest promises for Guayabalense football in the future, Núñez is one of the interesting players to follow in the team due to his special moves in the midfield, a player who wants to kick the ball from far as possible and pput it inside of the opposite goal, Núñez is more offensive than the average midfielder in terms of moves across the pitch.

Leónidas Bregoo 25 Y/O Midfielder of FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls (PIS) Image

The Rulandese borned but Guayabalian by nationality Leónidas Bregoo is actually the heart of the midfield with his team mate Rudy Valencia, Brego is essential in the midfield specially at the moment of being offensive or defensive due to his time-pacing function in the field, with good skills as headers, long crossed passes and long distance shots, considering his good height of 195 cms, is a good header in the area, in conclusion he's the heart of the team.

Árbol "Tree" Saucedo 21 Y/O, Right Midfielder of Wye United (APX) Image

The tallest of the team, say hi to the 202 cms high player of Avenida Leal. Saucedo is without doubt the main weapon of the team in headers and also one of the main defenders, taking advantage of his size Saucedo tends to run fast in counterattacks, with a speed worthy to compete with the best in the Games of the Olympiad.

Sean "Black Panther" Fraser 25 Y/O, Right Striker of Bjarnarey Flotilla (PIS) Image

The top scorer of all the time in the National Team, the useful Sean Fraser is a deadly weapon in the strikers zone, counterattacks, long shots and headers makes him a player who can score in any way possible in any moment, dangerous by his skill and technical game with the dribbling, is a headache for the defenders.

Jonathan "Atomic Flea" Faña 27 Y/O, Left Striker of Oljestaden IF (AUD)Image

Little in size but extremely fast, the "Flea" tends to be very technical and does a lot of dribbles, he can't shot so well from large distances but his excellent speed and counterattack skills makes him a rather interesting player to follow, the bad thing is that he's overconfident and can fail goals even in front of the goal, even if the Goalkeeper was beated by his drible. Well he has a bad luck.

Rodolfo "Fito" Zelaya: 25 Y/O Striker of Northbrook Diamonds (PIS)Image

Considered the SJG's best player good among the groups of football experts and fans all around in the country, the 25 years old player born in Islas Canarias near the Esportivan South Pole is a player that features good skills if we talk on the goal scoring and headers being the most accurate player if we talk of shots to goal, this crack is the one to put the spotlight on and his strong point is definitively the long distance shots taking in consideration his good skills at bending balls.

Specialities: Free kick.

Introduction

The Constitutional Monarchy of San José Guayabal, or also known as Guayabal or simply called SJG is a culturally diverse nation, inhabited by at least thirty ethnic minority groups and five other major ethnic groups, forming a bond of brotherhood between each group offering him to the nation a strong reputation of unity and brotherhood even in the most difficult moments. A former colonizers ancestral heritage and a mixture of innovation and creativity have shown positive effects in this vibrant nation located in the southernmost corner of Esportiva. In this guide basic data information that will help the tourist (Regardless of nationality, sex, species, religion, etc.) to have a pleasant stay in San José Guayabal, with phrases and tips that will be much useful.

History

Originally, San José Guayabal was inhabited by a tribe from the South Pole, which has been called "Eskimos" and which our country still live to this day, beginning more than 2,600 years before Christ. Eskimos settled in small communities on the shores of the south coast of the nation, developing solitarily without contact with most members of his ethnic group or the like. The economy was based on hunting and selling bearskins for the winter season, or the planting and harvesting of grapes or apples during the spring time. The system of government was nonexistent and remained so for a long time, where the Eskimos were the majority before a new ethnic group in the center of the country, which was the group of "Wára-Wára" who ended up being called "Native Guayabalenses.”

Many centuries later, the picture did not change in ethnic background, because the Eskimos maintained a social domain but now much more informed through a central government called "Naalakkersueriaaseq" or simply "Naala", consisting of a governor who tended to meet the role of chief and spiritual guide of the nation. Note that abandoned their nomadic practices and decided to establish around the "Great Lake" now called "Metropolitan Lake", about 230 km from what is now San Salvador, the capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Northern regions which, specifically from Andarica, we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country with the valorous mission of Explorer Luis Barbosa (Who’s considered as founder of the nation) and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, the isolated Eskimos decided to merge into a new society, full of opportunities for everybody. And that hasn’t stopped yet, because more groups came to stay in our nation, coming from the north the Finns, Swedes, Russians and Anglo-Saxons, creating a multicultural society in a big nation, who had a strong sense of unity and brotherhood since the early beginning despite the racial differences.

In the last 200 years, San José Guayabal has suffered drastic changes into his history and social system, being caused by political reasons, who led to three civil wars (1989, 2024, 2047) where the main factor was the wish of liberty and prosperity from a diverse but united nation with strong wishes of success in international issues as business, industries and more specially peace and freedom.

Today, San José Guayabal is a nation that is rising from the ruins by leaps and bounds after the most recent and devastating civil war that put a stop to the tyrannical communist regime of then President Miguel Serrano. In an industry dominated by petroleum and energy resources such as shale or subtraction of natural gas in conjunction with a strong and increasingly thriving tourism industry and micro technology based economy (Chips, micro-chips, etc.) are transforming the nation into what people have dreamed of, a country of advanced its breakthrough in the future and seek to overcome adversity to become more powerful and provide a better standard of life for its inhabitants.

Geography, Climate and another natural phenomena

San José Guayabal is a continental nation, located in the continent of Inferiore Minore, Esportiva. Having a great number of surrounding islands, an 85% of The Antartic Territory, doing a great combination of climate geographical features.
The continental area is very irregular, mountainous and extremely volcanic relief, being mountainous in the west, south-central, north-central and eastern containing long plains and steppes in the central area (also called "The Heart") of the nation, The Alpine Belt also called "Cordillera Del Fuego" runs from the border with Estope and Wednesday Evening in the far west to the border with Gregoryisgodistan in the east, forming a branch towards the south coast of the nation. The eruptions are less frequent in recent years, the last eruption was 12 years ago and the possibilities of a new eruption event occur is very minimal. This has generated an abundance of rocky material from the process of cooling of the lava, a very popular material used for gardens, decoration or houses.

Notable exceptions to the mountainous terrain of San José Guayabal are the Central Valley and the Northern Steppe. El Valle is a flat land that does not exceed 600 meters above sea level and extends over much of the Lempa River; the soil is very fertile for growing grain and other agricultural products such as corn, beans, and sugarcane, and also is home of the biggest hydroelectric dams in the entire region of Esportiva.

The North Steppe is the most arid area of the territory, dominated by its large sand dunes, this region has very little rainfall throughout the year and extreme weather in the summer, easily exceeding 42°C at noon and decreasing the 9°C at the night, fauna it’s minimal there except for scorpions and some lizards.

The climate of San Jose Guayabal is generally quite predictable because there are four distinct seasons being these winter (June 21 to September 20), spring (September 21 to December 20), summer (December 21 to March 20) and the autumn (March 21-June 20) while in Rossana (overseas colony) the condition is different because of its location in the northern hemisphere being the winter between December and March, spring between April and June, the summer between July and September while autumn is from October to December. It's very rare to see a non-corresponding to the station in our country climate, with stable climates for each season and very few flaws in the service of climate information in the news and newspapers because the control systems of the climate and the almost obvious weather patterns.

In terms of natural phenomena we can find three, the most catastrophic ones are the earthquakes, a very common event in the nation due to its volcanic activity and its location between two major tectonic plates, the Southern Plate and the Inferiore Plate. This makes our nation quite prone to seismic events place but do not panic. The nation has high construction standards regarding the prevention of seismic events and is mandatory that each building has evacuation plans which are placed in visible to make easier the evacuation besides making evacuation drills at least two times for year. Note that at least 45% of citizens are people trained to provide first aid, this being part of the given requirements to complete the Students’ Social Service, required for the graduation of students in the education system.

We now turn to other less lethal phenomena, as are the aurora australis and the migration of geese, spectacular events that attracts lots of people. The aurora australis is a phenomenon that occurs mainly from March to September, while maintaining an appropriate intensity to be seen until the end of December, usually can be seen throughout the country, including northern areas like El Roblar or Metapán. The migrating of geese occur during September to December, from the Central Valley region they move to the South Pole, then head north of Esportiva. These spectacles often bring many people to be witnessed, because they have an enormous facility to witness each of these phenomena.

Travel

Visiting San José Guayabal is not a very complicated process, as the provisions of international travel are applied for each foreign visitor. International flights usually land at three airports, one for each egion of the country, being the El Roblar International Airport designated to the west, Luis Barbosa Airport in Vladivostok for the central region and San Salvador International Airport to the east, the latter being the most important because of its location in the capital.

On transport and within San Jose Guayabal, we can find many alternatives among these is a rental car, join a tour group to use a minibus, taxi, public bus system, the private mass transportation, the underground (Available in cities over 500,000 inhabitants com) the bullets and domestic flights trains provide easy connectivity between one point and another in the nation, but can mention popular media, low cost and short runs as the tuc tuc and the colloquially called "coaster" (small minibus whose route is fast but to some extent uncomfortable due to the high volume of music and the sound of their mufflers). As mentioned, the transport between different parts of the nation is very easy, even people facilitate travel through the "ride" method, something often practiced by people who made a short trip and bear a considerable burden in order to avoid walk with overload.

Transportation is a very fast method SJG if done especially between cities separated by many kilometers because there is no speed limit on highways, although it is recommended to drive at no more than 140 kilometers per hour.

It’s important to say that you should drive defensively in the roads, especially in the interstate highways, due to the very aggressive driving style of Guayabalenses in general, drive always at your right side and carry an extinguisher, reposition tires and use always your seatbelt, failure to do this might cause you high fines with the police, the fines should be paid at the local police department, in any bank or pharmacy under the “EasyPay” system which can be found in almost every town in the nation.

Culture & Society

Religion

San José Guayabal is a predominantly religious nation since ancient times, presenting a wide variety of thoughts about divinity.

From the beginning of time to the Eskimos, prevailed a kind of shamanism mixed with pagan rites in honor of the earth, moon and sun, entities of great importance to the Eskimos because of their dependence on agriculture and sun for planting and harvest of food and other goods for storage in the winter, which was worshiped by the moon and snow, who deserved rest and relaxation afforded to the Eskimos that time.

This Eskimo tradition of worshiping natural phenomena remained for more than 2500 years until the arrival of Spanish colonizers, who spread a new faith, Christianity in an easy way and without shedding innocent blood by religion. The Guayabalenses have been very receptive to the religion without falling into religious fundamentalism and fanaticism, this being a meeting point of unity and for society.

The Catholic branch of Christianity was the most professed in San José Guayabal to the arrival of the ethnic groups of Nordic origin like the Swedes and Finns who are predominantly Protestant, their influence on the people was so great that within two decades (1840- 1860) the percentage of Catholics dropped from 86% to 7%, and Protestantism dramatically increased to 89% of the population said to practice religion mainly based on the three pillars that characterizes San José Guayabal populace as a whole: Unity, Brotherhood and Passion.

Today the trend remains solid, the population is even more liberal than before in terms of tolerance creeds, admitting any theological thinking according to the Constitution of the Republic, severely condemning any act of censorship of religious expression or fundamentalism religious. Notably, church attendance has been increasing in the last seven years, bringing together a large part of the population; the missions of the churches typically perform community works across the nation or even international level people who need it most.

Language

Because being a multicultural nation, many languages are found in San Jose Guayabal, 31 to be precise, of which only five are relevant in their social use and only two are used by the government. At least a basic knowledge of Spanish language is more than useful in our nation but not essential, because 68% of the population has declared Spanish as their first language and 85% admit to have sufficient knowledge of the language. There are also four more languages in which the population has knowledge such as English (spoken by 70% of the population, 12% as their mother tongue), Swedish (spoken by 35% of the population, 4% as mother tongue), Russian (spoken by 26% of the population, 7% as their mother tongue) and Finnish (spoken by 17% of the population, 3% as their mother tongue).

The people of San Jose Guayabal are known regionally for the effort they made to learn new languages, speaking on average three to four languages at an appropriate level for communications with different people, according to them this is essential because knowledge is acquired different cultures and helps to relate to more people in The Multiverse.

Food & Etiquette

Food in San Jose Guayabal is very diverse, varying due to the presence of different ethnic groups that have imported your culinary culture to our nation, varying by region, but yes there are dishes that are distinguished from others if we talk about popularity nationwide.

Eating habits in SJG tends to be foods with moderate calories, being mainly meat and some salads that are normally accompaniment to the main course, where it normally waits for all those who eat at the same table finish their plate, then they start to eat all at the same time the main course, as tradition, a toast is made by anyone at the table. It is considered impolite to leave food residue on dishes and should you be invited to a house to eat or social activities, is always appropriate offer to wash the dishes and glasses where you ate, this being a gesture of good education and thanks to the host (not always the person that is offered is done, is considered as a simple act of appreciation.)

The typical dish par excellence of San José Guayabal are Pupusas, is a food made from mass shaped like circle, stuffed inside with fried beans, cheese, pork rind, squash, blackberry. This is often accompanied by vegetable tanning and ketchup.
Other main courses are: Tray (Composed of roast beef with barbecue, rice, salad, soup and fries), Quesadillas, Coastal Chops (Cutlet, bathed with barbecue and served with shrimp), Croquettes (breaded meat, accompanied with piece of dough and rice) and Spaghetti. Among the salads are: Paisa salad (lettuce, avocado, omelet, egg, chicken, bacon and corn chips) and the “Mil Cumbres” salad (lettuce, tortilla croutons, chicken, tomato, corn and ranch dressing).

Football Culture

Football in San José Guayabal is the sport that moves the masses, on any day and at any time of day is normal to see children playing football in the streets of residential areas or football academies, the Community youth playing football in tournaments, or at academies of professional or semi professional teams, adults meet after the workday with peers and then perform matches, as distraction from work stress and also the elderly and women, who do not hesitate to leave their detention work in order to enjoy the football. Through this we can deduce that as people get involved in football in an active way, so is his passion.

The passion for football is very excessive in our nation, for some it is cultural issue of pride support their team and others, is literally his own "religion" if you are so want to call, many fans to stadiums are directed to support his team in an almost unique way, the hostility in the atmosphere and tension is very high, the songs of hate towards the opponent and vice versa are very frequent flares, pyrotechnics, giant banners to support the team, hypes, trumpets and other musical instruments give much color to the bars organized teams or selection, popularly known as "Barras Bravas" are very common, but accidents between the fans are very rare.

Discuss and be contrary to any guayabalense about football in public is something that will not be very pleasant, especially if the national team is playing. In such cases, groups are formed and the riots start against the supporters of another nation, then this gives origin to the riots. Something forbidden by the laws of behavior in stadiums, as if they are the perpetrators, be of any nationality, the price to pay is high, from fines of 1,000 crowns (NS $ 2,000) up to three months in jail, or if they occur fatalities.

It is recommended to refrain from displays of hatred and mockery against the home crowd, in order to avoid problems of any kind during your stay, note that stadiums are not allowed to enter water bottles, umbrellas, sharps, flagpoles or pencils. You can enter flares, banners and musical instruments with previous notice to the police (if you are from an organized “ultra”), it is important to mention that you can find different food at the stadium, from ice cream to banquets of gourmet food, any kind of drink is available from the typical and highly alcoholic “Chaparro” to typical beers or wines.

Spanish:

1
Tú antigua, tú libre, tú, Sur de altas montañas,
¡Tú, silencioso, afable y alegre!
Te saludo a ti, el país más amigable del mundo.
Tu sol, tu cielo, tus prados verdes. (bis)

2
Tú reinas en la memoria de gloriosos días pasados,
cuando tu nombre era venerado en todo el mundo.
Sé que eres y serás lo que fuiste.
Sí, sí, yo quiero vivir y quiero morir en el Sur. (bis)

English:

1
Thou ancient, thou free, thou mountainous South
Thou quiet, thou joyful and fair!
I greet thee, most beautiful land upon earth,
Thy sun, Thy sky, Thy meadows green.

2
Thou art enthroned upon memories of great olden days,
When honoured thy name flew across the earth,
I know that thou art and wilt remain what thou wast,
Yes, I want to live, I want to die in the South

BRASILIANIA NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM - CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA XII SQUAD

Goalkeepers
1. - Cristóvão ADALBERTO Machado
Height - 188 cm - Weight - 86 kg - Age: 26 years old - Club: Sporting Adlanense
Adalberto has always been first choice for club and country since he was 19. Bursting on the scene after Adlanense's then first choice keeper Juliano was injured, a series of superb displays saw him called up to the national team, and has been first choice since. Off the field, Adalberto is known to live in Northern Adlanense, and has two children, two girls, and is married to model Elisa Darosca.
12. - Armando Olegário NATANIEL CRUZ
Height - 194 cm - Weight - 82 kg - Age: 23 years old - Club: Athletico Nomarazo
Nataniel Cruz is relatively new to the international side, with only four caps in his name, and has only been first choice keeper for Athletico Nomarazo for only about a year. Despite this, Cruz's height makes him a good stopper for high shots, but his weakness is low shots, which gets the better of him. However, this does not stop Cruz being second choice keeper, but, if an injury occurs to Adalberto, third-choice keeper Jorge may be selected instead.
22. - JORGE Diogo Cabral
Height - 186 cm - Weight - 81 kg - Age: 29 years old - Club: Internacional Curibia
Veteran keeper Jorge is the smallest, lightest, but oldest of the three goalkeepers. From a young age, he was first choice before Adalberto but lost his spot after being injured in a friendly, and Adalberto cemented his place as number one from there. After a few more injuries, a couple of keepers have been second choice. Currently, this is Nataniel Cruz but due to Cruz's poorness with low shots, Jorge may just edge second choice position this time.

Defenders
2. - Antonio Lucio VERATTI
Height - 183 cm - Weight - 71 kg - Age: 27 years old - Club: Internacional Curibia
Right-back Veratti isn't much of an attacking player. A solid defender, the 27 year old is much better at tackling. He is also beginning to lose his pace, which is why most likely other right-back Caixão is more likely to be selected. However, Veratti is a better tackler, but do Brasiliania want the pace and flair or the solid defending option?

3. - Dado Augusto ÁLVARO FONSECA
Height - 181 cm - Weight - 67 kg - Age: 25 years old - Club: Lorinto Pino
Álvaro Fonseca is the perfect left-back: fast, good tackler with a touch of flair. However, he has been plagued by injuries for the past couple of years but this does not stop him from being selected.

4. - Virgílio LUÍS SANTIAGO
Height - 171 cm - Weight - 65 kg - Age: 22 years old - Club: Liro Puena
Liro Puena's left back Luís Santiago has a good pace, a good tackle, and a good pass. Most likely to be Álvaro Fonseca's understudy, he'll get his chance if Fonseca is injured or out of form.

5. - Armando HERNANDEZ
Height - 189 cm - Weight - 76 kg - Age: 31 years old - Club: Liro Puena
Veteran captain Hernandez has the perfect qualities of being a defender. He is tall, strong, a good captain, and a very loud voice. He is renowned for barking orders at his team mates, and is a strong motivator. He is nicknamed O Outro Gerente (the Other Manager) or O jogador-treinador (the player-manager) for his loud instructions.

6. - Antônio Cristian Perez Rodríguez "CAIXÃO"
Height - 184 cm - Weight - 63 kg - Age: 24 years old - Club: Athletico Nomarazo
Possibly one of the most wanted players in Brasiliania right now, right-back Caixão is extremely fast, and has a strong tackle. A classic example of Brasilianian flair, the shining young right-back is one of Brasiliania's key players. He is more likely to be selected over Veratti, due to Veratti's slowness, but Veratti has a strong tackle. However, Caixão will more likely get the nod.

13. - Vítor Carvalho RUBEN MARTINS
Height - 180 cm - Weight - 69 kg - Age: 25 years old - Club: Imperial Clube
Central defender Ruben Martins is relatively uncapped. Only playing twice for the national teams, Martins is a strong back up for central defenders as he is a good tackler, but due to his inexperience this may make him not the first choice in defence.

14. - Edmundo SÉRGIO Rodolfo HENRIQUES
Height - 177 cm - Weight - 62 kg - Age: 18 years old - Club: Numo Octubre
Sérgio Henriques is a versatile full back than can play on the left or right flank. However, he has got tough competition for both places. Former full backs such as Ricardo Placci are calling this young man a rising star, which he is. He has been capped nine times so far, with 6 games on the left, 2 on the right and one in central defence.

16. - Paulino Luisinho MARTIM NUNES Ribeiro
Height - 170 cm - Weight - 57 kg - Age: 19 years old - Club: Imperial Clube
Small and light, Martim Nunes doesn't look the most imposing of centre backs. But beneath his small appearance is a vicious tackler who can easily whip the ball away from you. Also used in defensive midfield, Martim Nunes is one to watch for Brasiliania.

Central/Defensive Midfielders
8. - Luisao MARCO AURÉLIO
Height - 183 cm - Weight - 62 kg - Age: 26 years old - Club: Francio Norelo
Marco Aurélio is a great defensive midfielder, due to his tackling, composure, passing skills and his fair play. Called the "best passer in Brasiliania", Marco Aurélio will be a likely starter for the team.

14. - Marco Figueroa "FIGURINHO"
Height - 179 cm - Weight - 68 kg - Age: 30 years old - Club: Athletic Sorao
Figurinho first started off as a centre-back, but was moved forward by his coach at the time, Franco Guierro due to his composure on the ball and passing skills. Renowned for splitting defenses with his passes and sometimes, their legs with his tackles, Figurinho is a solid veteran and a fantastic player.

15. - Luis MARCOS Fernando Martinez
Height - 175 cm - Weight - 70 kg - Age: 28 years old - Club: Arascao
Not the best of players, but not the worst either. Marcos is a good option for injured/suspended players, as he is quite strong, but it is very unlikely he will start.

17. - Plácido Alex Ivo Pinheiro "IVÃO"
Height - 180 cm - Weight - 64 kg - Age: 25 years old - Club: Aquilano Rulito
Fans and critics alike were very surprised and somewhat annoyed when Ivão was called up. Ivão was, and still is a very rough player, gets sent off a few times and has a loud personality. But sometimes, fighting and motivational is what Brasiliania needs. Like Marcos, unlikely to start but Ivão has exceptional chemistry with captain Armando Hernandez.

Wingers/Attacking Midfielders
7. - Desidério FILIPE PAREDES
Height - 186 cm - Weight - 60 kg - Age: 27 years old - Club: Sporting Adlanense
Tall and fast, winger Filipe Paredes is an exceptional crosser. Most of his crosses result in an attempt on goal, and are very rarely headed away. Some of them curl, some of them are diagonal, but all of them are good. Along with that, he has exceptional pace, and at 27 years old, he is still a good person to challange Caixão to a race!

11. - Rufino Francisco Cruz Achilles "RUFINÃO"
Height - 183 cm - Weight - 63 kg - Age: 22 years old - Club: Numo Octubre
Rufinão has established the right wing place since he made his debut aged only 16 for the national team. A speedy winger with mazy dribbling skills, Rufinão can cut through the opposition's defence and is also the player with the second most assists in the team.

19. - Lino Sérgio ROLANDO Freitas
Height - 182 cm - Weight - 69 kg - Age: 28 years old - Club: FC Jansberg (SEM)
Veteran attacking midfielder Rolando is a technical, strong, attacking midfielder. Either bustling and barging his way through defences, setting up strikers or scoring amazing long range shots from outside the 18 yard box, Rolando is a key player in the team.

21. - MAURIZIO NUNES
Height - 183 cm - Weight - 64 kg - Age: 25 years old - Club: Solenense
Maurizio Nunes is a firm starter either in attacking midfielder, or sometimes as a support striker. With many assists for both club and country, and amazing dribbling and passing skills, Maurizio Nunes is another key player.

22. - Mauricio Nuno Edson da Silva Nunes "NUNÃO"
Height - 175 cm - Weight - 62 kg - Age: 23 years old - Club: Numo Octubre
Left-footed playmaker Nunão has just burst onto the international scene and has certainly made his mark. With only six caps, but with five assists and two goals, Nunão has a good chance of starting for the side.

Forwards
9. CARLOS Duarte Rodrigues
Height - 197 cm - Weight - 63 kg - Age: 26 years old - Club: Sporting Valconese
By far the tallest player in the team, lanky striker Carlos is also one of the best headers in football. Around 95% of his goals have been headers, with shooting not his strong point. Despite being a good player in the box for set pieces, both offensive and defensive, Carlos may not start but he will make the squad no matter what.

10. FABIO RAFAEL Gimenes Garcia
Height - 191 cm - Weight - 60 kg - Age: 21 years old - Club: Athletic Sorao
One of Brasiliania's best strikers yet, the youngster has already made himself first choice in attack. With the elements of former players such as Costao, Rubinho, Kelson Domingues and Rabao, Fabio Rafael is one of Brasiliania's most exciting prodigies.

18. KELSON DOMINGUES da Costa
Height - 185 cm - Weight - 63 kg - Age: 37 years old - Club: Tominense
The oldest player in the squad, veteran striker Kelson Domingues was and still is one of Brasiliania's best strikers. With a terrific eye for goal, and depspite his age, Kelson Domingues may even start a game.

23. Heitor Amando André MAURO Paredes
Height - 179 cm - Weight - 58 kg - Age: 22 years old - Club: Athletic Duozo
Mauro, like Fabio Rafael, has established a place in attack. Although he plays with Athletic Duozo, one of the lower teams in the top league, Mauro is linked with a move away, due to his amazing eye for goal, as he was one of the top scorers in the league.

24. Roman Hector Silva "ROMINHO"
Height - 184 cm - Weight - 57 kg - Age: 28 years old - Club: Fluresio Colocco
One of the only players playing abroad, Rominho is a sharp striker, still sharp at 28. Being Brasiliania's sixth most highest goalscorer, Rominho may not start due to players such as Fabio Rafael, Julio and Mauro, but he is sure to at least be a substitute and a good player for turning a game around.

25. JULIO Nuno Eustaquio Ferreira
Height - 183 cm - Weight - 59 kg - Age: 24 years old - Club: Sporting Adlanense
Another sharp goalscorer, both for club and country, Julio is another player in the crop of the new generation of Brasilianian players. A keen goalscorer, good with both feet and his head, Julio is a good candidate to lead the line for the team.

26. Lino Tiago Victore "LINÃO"
Height - 182 cm - Weight - 54 kg - Age: 26 years old - Club: FC Kolberg (SEM)
Unexpected. Unpredictable. Charismatic, enigmatic striker Linão is an energetic and vibrant striker, both on and off the pitch. Leading a heavy party lifestyle has often got him suspended, and he is sometimes sent off for dangerous tackling. Away from that, he has a good eye for goal but is yet to replicate his club form for his country, having a bit of a dip in country form.

27. Ciríaco Adão Calisto Estéban Vasques "ESTÉVES"
Height - 179 cm - Weight - 60 kg - Age: 29 years old - Club: Club Locozo
Another veteran striker, Estéves is a decent striker but however, this time may not be used at all. His recent dip in form for his club has seen him used occasionally but only as a substitute, but has a smashing form for country, with some amazing form. Competing for top striker at Club Locozo with Adilio has often seen him get overlooked, and usually, for country too. But when he plays, Estéves is an amazing striker.

FOOTBALL

Some forty years ago, a couple of Esportivan communist exchange students decide to kick a ball around on a field not too far away from Vannarby. After a lot of history, we’ve now in the year 2021 and football is tilting the crown as the most popular sport in the archipelago. In the sixth season of the unified Top Division, Bengtsmark IF retook their dominance with a second title, seemingly ending the era of Viztourzys Kolektyvinis. A side that also can pride themselves upon a certain international stature after winning a Globe Cup. The national President’s Cup saw already a list of victorious sides, with Blau-Weiss Pallstadt, the nation's second team, as the latest addition. The official national competitions contain 48 teams and are still up to expansion, but its popularity mainly lies on the many local teams and competitions. Especially in the western part, football is the main sport, whilst being opposed to the popularity of rugby and basket in the east.

Before our international wake, Buyanese football was usually noted by powerful midfield play, with a lot of forward focus transcended in one man: a team was often defined by its type of attacking midfielder and the position was probably a bit overrated. Navickas and Cedar, by example, previously grew into the posterboys of their time that way. These days, the man around which Buyanese football revolves is Sverre Devold, although Piotr Kluszak might hold that position in the domestic Top Division. These stars of the new generations, however, demonstrated that the danger doesn't have to come from one person only and the ability from Viztourzys - and more recently Bengtsmark, Blau-Weiss and Jottnar - to deal with this new football reality have allowed them to grow to the highest level. The fact that Hope held on to the same opinion has certainly helped to popularize the idea.

He stamped out the old traditions with a renewed midfield where the wings can produce a lot of danger as well, but with a larger focus on the defending as a whole. It was a typical vision in Buyan to see attacking players stay forward when the opposing team launches an attack, causing a lot of pressure and goals, but the national side doesn’t show so. Hope wanted a sturdy defence, unless there are opportunities on the wing, with a double lock on the door. It brought Buyan a Baptism of Fire and a World Cup spot, but after 88 international games, the reign of Hope stranded on a goalless draw against Kernansquillec... And the World Cup 69 being further than ever. A fourteen on eighteen, under new manager Reinhard Shale, brought new blood and he convinced every sceptic with the qualification to the second World Cup of his characteristic 4-4-2 diamond.

Buyan has come a long way since their debut interland, a worrying 3-0 loss against Dandillis. Their first CE saw proper performances, but the Hedgehogs only got the taste of winning in their Baptism of Fire. Without dominating, they amassed the victories. After beating Kitsunia-Deesse and Dutciberg, they faced The Sarian in a thriller. After one hundred twenty scoreless minutes, penalties had to decide upon a victor and the steel nerves from the Buyanese came out on top. The tournament marked Zemaitis, Havelund, Tufte and not in the least Sverre Devold as international players and lay the foundation of a respectable World Cup campaign.

Despite organising the next Campionato, it didn’t saw a real breakthrough of Buyan and the Beltane Cup ended in deception when Yttribia got the best of us, leaving us with bronze. But the World Cup qualifiers were exceptional, playing eighteen games back-to-back without a single loss. Taking the scalps of United Gordonopia, Thatius and the Equestrian States, Buyan surprisingly qualified for the World Cup 68 proper. After losses against Legalese and Osarius, Buyan grabbed three sweet points after a much contested duel against Rüntenbach, seeing Manuel Schmidt as a hero.

Their third campaign of international football has resolved in mixed results. Due to internal issues, a homegrown side had to contest the CE and the Beltane Cup. The CE ended faster than hoped, as Apox cut short the road to the quarterfinals, but the Beltane resulted in the second trophy in the cabinet, as we once again showed more cool on penalties against Greater Watford. The expectations were high: a second World Cup qualification was a must but that did not work out. A second round in the CoH 61 did not really resolve the question marks.

The Cup of Harmony nor the CE XI was a success by all standards, but with a new cycle starting, Shale wants to bring the national team to a new level. The silver from the Beltane Cup should have lifted the spirits. The result was a stellar campaign in which the Hedgehogs surprisingly managed to overcome a strong opponent such as Turori and qualified one match ahead of the end of the qualifiers. Their second World Cup became a success as after a loss against Pasarga, Buyan was the better of Runtenbach and San Jose Guayabal with Devold as their master player. Eventually, they lost out to Polar Islandstates and Kolehmainen in the Round of 16, but that can’t be considered a shame.

[b]SQUAD

Twenty-three players for this tournament and most of them are the usual names. Only Manuel Schmidt is missing, the goalie ends his spell on the national team on 30 caps, but quite a few legendary moments such as the WC 68 game against Rüntenbach – the end of a monument for this Viztourzys player. Others who will have been disappointed not to receive an invite are Eero Halmiini, Kai Ruutu, Frederik Suhr and Stefan Hostmann. Surprisingly, we instead see the debuts of Pawlo Marciak and Sigi Prinsen.

On top of that, Shale announced that he would stage a younger XXIII for the Beltane Cup, to give younger players some chance as well after the realisation that only three players are currently below twenty-five.

STAFF

Assistant Manager: Erica Brewer, NPH

Joining the Buyanese coaching staff, Brewer raised more than one eyebrow as she is one of the first females to enter the masculine circle of Buyanese professional football. However, all question marks were quickly turned into exclamation points once they got to know her. Her thorough knowledge of opponents, attention to details and patience makes her the ideal counterpart for Shale, with whom she shares her career. No surprise that by now, she is quite rightfully seen as 'one of us' by the dressing room, judging her by her skill rather than her gender.

Manager: Reinhard Shale, NPH

Sirius Hope brought Buyan to glory in the Baptism of Fire, lead them to their first World Cup and overlooked the squad that gained the Beltane Cup, but his time with the Hedgehogs stranded on a string of shaky performances in the World Cup qualifiers. It's here that Shale came into the picture, a man who could bring in the right kind of résumé despite only being 43 years of age. This talkative manager took up coaching after a career as winger being cut short by injury - we do like some coherence here in Buyan - and earned a name for himself when he not only lead Maximum Rovers to a title in the second division, but turned them into a solid side for the Nepharan competition.

Domestic powerhouse AFC Treason noted his class and Shale did live up to the expectations, bringing them a new title. But after three years, he decided it was time for a new challenge and found it in the dwindling Buyanese national team. With fourteen points in the remaining qualification games, the Hedgehogs hadn't lost yet under his reign, as he tries to bring them away from their defensive outlook to a typical Nepharim 4-4-2. His Cup of Harmony wasn’t that successful, but he won hearts at the World Cup. Shale is a talkative, media-friendly manager who tends to make the most of his time with the press, always quick with a joke. Even if that joke needs to pass inaccurately through a translator. He tends to take a challenge head-on and never really bother with the subtle route. It's something the Buyanese will have to get use to calm and subtle Hope.

KITS

Image

After using regular blues for the Campionato Esportiva VIII, Buyan addressed Vulpine Sportif who provided them with beautiful kits, both in a blue edition for the home side and red ones for the away games. But time flies and the BFB rightfully decided that it was time for an update. The result is the above marvellous shirts, kindfully provided by AER Sportswear. This modern touch certainly has added to our flair. We’ll wear these excellent shirts with pride, added with red shorts and socks. The goalie will take the field in an all blue outfit.

The Nine @ Dyatinsk (57,000 seats)

It's big, it's build on an unpractical location and if we believe the contractor, it's build on a swamp.
But it's also state of the art and featured some games in the Campionato Esportiva IX, hence the name.

STYLE

Style Modifier: -2

The one-attacker system almost proverbially attached to Sirius Hope is now a thing of the past and it leads to a new tactical scheme, a Nepharim 4-4-2 with a narrow diamond on the midfield. It is intended that the wing defenders will take up more offensive actions in this system, reaching the line from time to time if possible.

Between the posts, Ulle Seber managed to reclaim his spot. The Garbarnia goalie, out during the WC 68 due to an awful knee injury, took the upper hand as starting goalie since Shale took over and has shown that he is the right number one. He's reliable, splendid in one-on-one but not unbeatable on a long-distance shot. Despite playing for a minor domestic side, Seber holds Saldlund on the bench so far. Saldlund once was a major prodigy and has plenty of experience for IF, but hasn't made that last step up yet. Questions arise if he ever will. Young Marciak will mainly train and try to steal with his eyes.

As left defender, Kazimieras Zemaitis is the household name. Quick, always ready for a counterattack and with a stinging shot, one would almost forget that over the past few years for Viztourzys he also became a strong defender with a mean tackle. One of the few Buyanese of true multiversal level, this shy wingback is a unique asset. His doublure, Dziuba, is carved out of similar wood, but still lacks the international experience and view on the game. Nonetheless, he has shown promising things during his few appearances. As Bronius Bartkus disappeared from international football due to a horrible knee injury, a gap was created in the heart of the Buyanese defence. A gap that is filled by Rafal Giertych, a youngster who has promise written all over him and a true professional. He brings similar things to the side as Bartkus. Teaming up with Giertych in the middle of defence is Sigurd Tufte, a man who grew during his years for Mytanar Dinamo Esca from an interesting talent to a reliable international. Tufte still is a bit more rash than his counterpart, but brings a few dangerous infiltrations and a good long pass to the team, along with a good header. His stunt double is Antanas Mamontovas, a man who struggles a bit with the international level but with the years still on his good side. Completing the quartet, the right defender position will probably be filled by Ignas Smetona who is reunited with his former Viztourzys mate Zemaitis. An enfant terrible, he lost his spot on the team during our first Campionato Esportiva and disappeared from the spotlights. However, he matured and made a career for himself in San José Guayabal, where his spectacular style, dribbling and stinging assists were much appreciated by the local fans. Hope brought him back to the squad and Shale entrusted him with the right-back position, discarding the reliable but more static Refshauge. His stunt double is Giedius Justs, the brightest prospect in the defensive department and the latest acquisition of the Polarian Divisjon One and likewise a winger, but a tad less expressive as Smetona.

Any good diamond midfield falls or stands by their holding midfielder and it is there that Quinten Zermin enters the story. Starting as a left midfielder, der Kaempfer grew into a player that is both capable to add something in the build-up and strong enough to withstand opposing pressure. Broad shoulders, vast experience and a great attitude, he is the rock on which his teammates can build. For the future, we look to Bartosz Wladecki, a bit less rash than opponent Suhr and with a better tackle, one of the great talents of Blau-Weiss Pallstadt. On the left, Frederik Wallenberg disappeared from the squad after an unnecessary red card in the vital game against Free Swiss States, the end of his international career. His spot is filled by Dimitri Plovnarov, who recently left his youth club Sparta Torspeda for a Farf adventure. Despite not too spectacular, Plovnarov is a creative fellow with a great kick and a fine pass. A few more centimeters would have benefitted him, but he has still plenty of room for improvement. His doublure is Lammerschon, a quiet, hard-working player who makes up with attitude for what he lacks in talent. It earned him a spot in Tjelberg, one in the future for Buyan as well? An alternative is Sigi Prinsen, quick feet and magnificent dribbles but not always that effective. On the opposite side, a gifted fellow manages to keep the always appreciated Marco Castell on the bench. Espen Knutsen has become a starter over Halmiini, a player that moved out of the Buyanese competition to Nephara and hasn't regretted that move. Knutsen is stronger and taller and will surely shine against more physical opponents. This brings us to the defining player of the Buyanese team, the only player that could come anywhere near the term superstar. Sverre Devold is a true number ten and after a successful time for Jottnar Kallsmudden, he became a key player for Apoxian Barbury Town, a side in the second-biggest competition in the multiverse with which he won national and international titles. He's - for a number ten - quite defensive, but with a good kick and similar vision. His main lack might be his confidence, he's not always the leader this team needs. In case of troubles, it seems that Buyan found a double for him in Piotr Kluszak, who rocked the domestic league with his bright performances. A daredevil with great vision and quick feet, he gives Devold some pressure.

This leaves open the offensive department, in which two rather new players to the national team try to shine. Duco Dalmshelf is a true goalscorer, who attempts to appear as often in front of goal as possible. It earned him the Golden Boot in the last Top Division and with twenty-four goals, he's second on the eternal list of the Hedgehogs. He's not too tall and his heading is moderate, but otherwise he's a very stubborn and useful killer who doesn't need too many chances. On his side, Andrey Rettinger might be the most surprising name in the line-up. The first Buyanese ever to try his luck abroad, Rettinger became a club monument for Nepharim side Goodfeather. His style isn't that attractive for the eye but he brings power to the team and has an eye open for a fellow attacker. He's also an important weapon on free kicks and corners, as Buyan traditionally seldom makes the most out of these situations. But if Shale really has launched one guy in the national team, it will be Damien Balnerii who escaped the public eye the last few seasons but who build up a nice career in Earent. Balnerii demonstrated his capacity in front of goal in the previous tournaments and we wouldn’t be surprised if he makes it to starting player. Last but not least, Sil Moen wears the number nineteen. He's an interesting white rabbit in the hat, hard to define by only one position. A creative left foot, very intelligent and versatile, capable to bring a tactical change from paper to grass, Moen remains an ace to throw on the table when things get tough in any system.

APOX CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA XII ROSTER

Manager: Gavin Hughes, Aged 43
Assistant Manager: Jorge Guardia, Aged: 39
Style: -1

Spiel: Gavin Hughes hasn't been afraid to mix things up a bit for this Campionato, resting a number of important players, changing around the starting line-up and generally being quite progressive in his outlook. He's also gone for a relatively foreign-based squad, with 11 players playing overseas, what must be a record. Tolgus Tregajorran will have to wait to get his chance to beat Dravid Scott's goalscoring record, being rested this time around. There are also 4 players without caps in the squad, will they manage to get any gametime?

Style Modifier= +0.5

With the "Three Wise Men" retiring after the disappointing Cup of Harmony, the Nova Anglican national football team has moved into a new phase of its history. A new generation will be stepping up to claim the mantle of leadership and they will have a new head coach. After initial selections got it down to three candidates, in-fighting led to no one being hired for a long time and Silas Gabriel, former manager Patrick Moran's top assistant, guided the team for a while, including in the 11th Campionato Esportiva. Eventually, they settled on the youngest candidate; Sook Jin Lee, 39 of the Royal Kingdom of Quebec was selected. Lee has had fewer than two months to mold this team in his own image, so some difficulties can be expected. However, it is certainly a relief for these 23 men to finally have a definitive head coach.

Lee is an attacking coach, and has transformed the Lions into a more aggressive team than they were before. He has, however, had to compromise his preferred all-out attacks strategy for a more measured approach that Nova Anglicans are familiar with. From Moran, we saw his favorite 1-4-4-1, which eventually transformed into 4-1-4-1, and then morphed into 4-6-0 due to a lack of quality strikers under Gabriel in the CEXI. Lee has elected a 4-2-3-1, which allows him to utilize the defensive talents of Cesar Martinez as well as the attack of Emmanuel Moga. Despite the 4-2-3-1 being a neutral or defensive-leaning formation, Lee has assured the press that his attacking philosophy will be present. The wingers, Pelletier and Fleming, will press the flanks (supported by Bradley Lancaster the fullback) as Moga and Hodges the striker attack down the middle. The capable Philip Castillo will be more aggressive than Martinez (since he's not a natural DM), but Lee has promised that Martinez will be able to unleash his thunderbolt of a shot on free kicks.

Fresh off of their WC 70 group stage appearance (first ever), the Lions will send their same World Cup side to the 12th Campionato Esportiva. In previous Campionatos, the Lions finished 1-4-0, advancing to the Round of 16 (in a surprise over Brenecia) and lost to New Sideburn (now rebranded Nephara). In the infamous CEXI, the depleted team managed 3 wins against two losses, but it was not enough to advance out of the group, losing out to Earo on goal differential. Now with renewed confidence, an actual coach, and perhaps the best side the nation has seen, how will they stack up against the tenacious Esportivan competition?

NEPHARA
Preferred Formation:
4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell. Capacity of 88,000, no attached club.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

With Jess Mortlock's sudden resignation as manager of the Cormorants after a deeply confusing six-year tenure, the Cormorants are going to undergo a rough transition over the course of the Campionato Esportiva, where they hope to continue their streak of winning even-numbered tournaments. Theresa Riether ('Tess' to just about everyone) hopes to make the transition a smooth one, but she's already put her foot down. Cathar seemingly demoted, a likely change of formation, and Penrith dropped altogether - yeah, she's not pulling her punches.

Overall Record
138 wins - 30 draws - 49 losses
425 scored - 257 conceded

Honours
Champions of the 51st Baptism of Fire, the 6th, 8th and 10th Campionati Esportiva, the 61st Cup of Harmony, Eagle's Cup 5 and Market Cup 6.
Qualified for World Cups 67, 68 and 70.
Quarterfinalists in WC68 - the first Esportivan to make it that far.
Ranked 15th in the world.

First Team and Tactics
Image
Riether does have a few plans. Bittencourt is likelier to start in early matches, and Brandon will replace Murdoch against the strongest teams - Apox, Felix, and the like.

Tactics are still very Nepharim - pass and move, make the most of your possession, don't dwell on the ball. Stay physical, press high, don't be afraid to go in hard. Just as a matter of national pride, Nepharim don't dive, nor do they waste time. Mortlock preferred to give Rowland a more distinct target man role, but Riether encourages a more fluid front line in general.

Tess RIETHER - 44
Manager
Appearance
Lean, weathered and with a slight but noticeable limp. Angular face, sandy blonde hair.
Summary Ambitious, ruthless and determined to win no matter the cost, Riether was a shock choice to succeed the outgoing Jess Mortlock. But she has a record of success, taking the Under-21 team to the final in her only Di Bradini Cup, and despite never having managed in the Premiership... okay, so she's still the shock choice, no matter how you paint it. Still, the ultracompetitive woman from Crisisbless is aiming high and looks capable of reaching those targets.

Auburn BYWATER - 33
Assistant Manager
Appearance
Lanky, pale ginger. Shabby-looking, but attractive.
Summary Originally in the team with the role of a 'whip' - someone to maintain discipline, keep players in line - when Boyden let his contract with the national team lapse to go and manage Premiership teams again, Bywater made the step up. She's only recently earned her coaching badges, but her man-management skills are more than sufficient for her lack of tactical nous.

Franziska RENSENBRINK - 24
Whip
Appearance
A tall, lean woman with sharp features and close-cropped chestnut hair.
Summary Rensenbrink, one of the many daughters of NFA President Markus Rensenbrink, unsurprisingly took a while to win the trust of the staff and players. That said, she's managed to firmly become one of the fixtures of the team. There are limited rumours that her bond with Catheline Stockinger is very strong, whether platonic or romantic - whatever the cast, they're certainly seen together a lot.
1 - Diandra BALLARD - 27 - FC Endeavour (APX)
21 caps, 8 clean sheets
Appearance
6-foot-even, strongly-built brunette, hair kept long and braided.
Summary A world-class shot-stopper, now starting for one of the world's best clubs. Ballard's waited a long time for that number 1 shirt, and she's more than earned the right to it for years to come. The rest of her game is pretty good as well - formerly her reluctance to use her feet and distinctly average distribution counted against her, but her spell with Endeavour has taught her versatility. A shining star in the team.

12 - Reece COLEMAN - 32 - AFC Mayville (EUR)
50 caps, 24 clean sheets
Appearance
6'2" and strong, with close-cropped auburn hair and stubble.
Summary Late to be called up, but Coleman kept a fairly secure net for a fair few years. His habit of coming out to sweep behind the back four was one that saved the Cormorants more than once, and at his peak he was one of the best goalkeepers in the Euraleague. If he is called upon, Nepharim fans will rest easy.

20 - Seb SEWARD - 28 - Sabrefell Athletic
Uncapped
Appearance
Lanky sandy blond with a small, ferretty face.
Summary Seward's pure reflex and speed are his greatest assets. While not exactly an imposing physical presence, he's out of his box and on you like a flash - and that's without mentioning his shot-stopping capabilities, which are strong in their own right. Reasonably consistent as well, with most errors coming down to shaky handling.
2 - Markus RHEIN - 24 - Slateport Bulls (VLD)
Right-back
20 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Small and wiry. Badly-shaven with a ragged mop of black hair.
Summary A Sabrefell lad to the end, Rhein's a scrappy little fullback, liking to burst forward and use his pace to his advantage. He's a great defender, too, and can stick to his man when he has to - clipping their heels and hacking at their shins for ninety minutes, like a sort of terrier. Like his predecessor at rightback Snowy Sleet, a Sabrefell Athletic academy graduate who burst through the ranks early before a move to Valladares - unlike Sleet, a far more dynamic, less conservative player, though he needs a bit more sharpening at the top level.

3 - Catheline STOCKINGER - 25 - FC Brimstone (APX)
Left-back
28 caps, 1 goal
Appearance
5'5" and greyhound-thin, olive skin with short, straight, dark brown hair.
Summary Stockinger comes from a chequered background, but a fiercely ambitious nature has steaded her well. A fantastic attack-minded leftback with breath-taking pace. Suffered an anxiety attack just a couple of days before starting in the Eagle's Cup final, but managed to overcome that to electrifying effect in the second half - assisting one goal and then scoring the winner. Ever since, has been a fan favourite for sticking through it despite the circumstances.

5 - Hadrian BELFAST (c) - 30 - Dwile Warriors (APX)
Centre-back
106 caps, 3 goals
Appearance
Powerfully-built man with wavy chestnut hair. Light peppering of stubble - an electric razor man, not a clean-shaver.
Summary Let's not beat around the bush, Belfast is likely the best centreback in the world right now. It takes some class for a defender to win a Player of the Season award, and when that award is in the ANL, the world's toughest league? In the prime of his career, an armband around his powerful bicep, and (almost) freshly-shaven for tournament to come. Bring them on.

6 - Tosca MARLOWE - 30 - AFC Treason
Centre-back
122 caps, 1 goal
Appearance
Lean and wiry, with short brown hair and piercing eyes.
Summary Marlowe's a solid, skilled centreback whose specialty is in clean sliding challenges. She's a patient marker who rarely goes in late, but usually does go in. With great anticipation, a fine mentality and a firm but generally fair physicality, she's a bulwark at the back for the Cormorants. Over the years for the Cormorants, Marlowe and Belfast have reached an understanding comparable to a long-standing defensive partnership for a club side - Belfast might be the better player, but it makes the two more than the sum of their parts at international level, where many players struggle for chemistry.

13 - Brescia STUBBS - 28 - Chatswood
Centre-back
7 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A 6'0", very strong woman, well-tanned with short dark brown hair and a variety of tattoos.
Summary "When the world falls apart, some things stay in place! Brescia Stubbs' elbows are in your face!" A recent but popular chant for the Premiership's most violent, spiteful defender, but one with a remarkable football intelligence and great communication. A fixture for Chatswood as they exceeded everyone's expectations to come 4th, and win the Cup. Can mark anyone out of a game.

17 - Esther CARDIFF - 25 - AFC Treason
Left-back
Uncapped
Appearance
A whippetty 5'7" platinum blonde, with sharp cat-green eyes.
Summary It was always going to be a tough ask to succeed Cathy Stokes for her club - but Cardiff managed it, bringing her clever feet and good instinct to AFC Treason. Originally with humble Ritter Town, the experience of being on a fairly weak team taught her how to clamp down a defence against the Premiership's best. She's adapted well to the Stags, and to UICA football, and she has that scrappy battler's mentality Gethin Ramsey values so much.

19 - Sasha CHRISTENER - 22 - Sabrefell Moths
Right-back
Uncapped
Appearance
Tall, dark and handsome. Wouldn't look out of place on a pin-up.
Summary Christener's an unlikely highlight of another pretty miserable season for the Sabrefell Moths. Looks like she could give Rhein a good contest in the future, but for now she'll have to be content as a backup. The lanky fullback is one of those players who never seems out of breath or stretching, but moves with languid strides that take her past defenders, and her ability to cross is second to none.

22 - Aidan MARTYN - 26 - Pajukas Sport (BYN)
Centre-back
13 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tall, strapping blond. Intricate sleeve tattoo down the right arm.
Summary A quietly intelligent defender, Martyn's not a risk-taker by nature - but that doesn't make him anything short of a bulwark at the back. The sort of player who'll tail a man for as long as it takes, try to limit his opportunities and force him into mistakes. His tendency to stand off players is rather at odds with most of the rest of the side, but he's a good player who offers something different but equal to his peers.
4 - Michael BRANDON - 32 - Directus (EUR)
Defensive Midfielder
125 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
Lean, hawkfaced brunet. Hair cut short and clean-shaven.
Summary Deep-lying playmaker and midfield anchor in equal measure, Brandon is every inch the archetypal Nepharim holding midfielder. He's a steadying presence for the squad, the kind who makes those around play better knowing he's covering them. His sharp passing makes him a constant threat to start counter-attacks, too. A quietly essential presence for the Nepharim national team.

7 - Brendan RIVERS - 24 - Bengtsmark IF (BYN)
Right Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
Tall, muscular brunet, well-tanned and with sharp cat-green eyes.
Summary A tough Laith native, and it shows in his play. Rivers excels at breaking down the right and hitting those early crosses, but he has a good, well-varied skillset and a tendency to work just as hard to defend as he does in attack. Less of a threat when shooting from distance, he's occasionally happy to drift in at the far post for a cheap header - unusual for a winger in that he's happier on the receiving end of a free kick than taking it.

8 - Rutger LOCKE - 26 - Tannenberg FC (VLD)
Attacking Midfielder
62 caps, 16 goals
Appearance
Handsome with a decent tan, a tall, lean physique and short sandy blond hair.
Summary The most expensive Nepharim in history, Tannenberg shelled out twenty-five million for the incisive playmaker. While his goalscoring tends to come in fits and starts, every other aspect of Locke's play is beyond reproach - a superb work-rate, a fantastic passing range, great vision and a keen intelligence. One of the most important players for the national team, and one of the best in Nepharim history.

11 - Rutger CONNACHT - 25 - AFC Treason
Left Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
Rough-looking ginger with a tough, barrel-chested build.
Summary A quick, bruising scrapper on the left, it's a surprise it's taken Connacht this long for a cap. A true competitor, he'll do anything to get the ball and will stop at nothing to keep it, usually before throwing one of a variety of impeccable crosses or cutbacks into the mix. Two-footed, he's a significant threat when cutting inside as well, and his unpredictability and physicality combine to make him a total nightmare for defences.

14 - Elaine ASHDOWN - 23 - Hastmead Diamante (OSR)
Central Midfielder
10 caps, 1 goal
Appearance
5'8" of sleek, lean muscle, with black hair cut to the shoulder.
Summary Under-21 captain for two consecutive Di Bradini Cups, Ashdown quickly rose above early bloomer Chris Christon in the Brinemouth pecking order. A great playmaker, fairly well-rounded in her other skills - a born leader as well, but as one of the junior members of the team, that probably won't be so prominent.

16 - Logan MURDOCH - 26 - RSK Longyearbyen Town (PIS)
Central Midfielder
21 caps, 4 goals
Appearance
Tall, athletic sandy blond, with an angular face and a prominent, hooked nose.
Summary An international callup comes at last for Murdoch, born in Sabrefell to Licentian immigrant parents - arguably overdue, he's been on the fringes for years, but proof of his credentials came after a successful move to the Polarian league. A muscular, hard-working player who just gives the players around him room to move, but he has a great first touch and pretty good technique in his own right.

18 - Eloise PARRISH - 29 - Maximum City
Left Midfielder
3 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tall, lean blonde with an easy, languid stride.
Summary Something of a surprise choice, Parrish nevertheless has proven she has the courage to succeed in tough situations. A Premiership veteran, she's a good all-rounder with a delicate touch, as well as threatening with perfectly floated crosses. Pace and physicality have never been her strong suits, however. She'll offer something different, slightly slower and breezier than Connacht on the left.

23 - Tanya BOTTLEGREEN - 24 - Hastmead Diamante (OSR)
Midfielder (Either Wing)
1 cap, 0 goals
Appearance
A runner's lean build, with a pale complexion and very dark brown-black hair and dark green eyes.
Summary Able to play on either wing, Bottlegreen's a quick, incisive sort of player who's enjoyed remarkable success in the Premiership at a young age. Rather unlike her swashbuckling persona on the pitch, Bottlegreen tends to be quiet and professional off it, and shies from the cameras.
9 - Keith ROWLAND - 31 - Holdenberg (EUR)
Striker
88 caps, 41 goals
Appearance
A tall ginger, rippling with lean muscle, and with an angular face.
Summary A hard, bruising classic Big Lad Up Top who's a more than capable goal threat as well, Rowland's made no secret of the fact that he's relishing a freer role under Riether. Has always given his heart and soul to the team, but it's more often his intense physicality, gem of a first touch, great vision for others' runs, unselfish nature and superb finishing that come to light.

10 - Cheney BITTENCOURT - 30 - Fontvielle Impact (VLD)
Striker
52 caps, 25 goals
Appearance
A lean brunet, usually easy-going and smiling, with an interesting set of arm tattoos.
Summary Bittencourt had something of a reputation as an impact substitute for the national team - it's one he's eager to shed. A total professional, his move to Valladares signals an intent to fight for a starting role. He's more than good enough to be taken seriously - a consummate finisher of remarkable nerve, with great ball control, he's far more a technician than the physical bruiser that Cathar is. While he's won a starting place, just two goals from eight appearances last cycle is a rate that's hardly done him any favours.

15 - Kurtis QUINN - 26 - AFC Treason
Striker
9 caps, 4 goals
Appearance
Just 5'8", with a wiry but sturdy build and short blond hair.
Summary A Treason local, Quinn was the unlikely hero for AFC Treason last season, ending up top scorer in the league as Treason went on to become champions as they found that the solution to their striker problems was to trust in their own. Will run, exceptionally fast, for ninety minutes, harrying and pressing defenders, and getting in the perfect place for chances he generally makes the most of. Don't misjudge his height, either - short he might be, but he can leap like a salmon. Mostly used as a substitute last cycle, making his strikerate all the more impressive.

21 - Rook CATHAR - 30 - East Franz Athletic (PIS)
Striker
88 caps, 46 goals
Appearance
Tall, muscular and lantern-jawed, with a fine blond mullet.
Summary Cathar was thought of, perhaps somewhat unfairly, as something of a white elephant for the team - a player of such talent that he was undroppable, and yet one who could prove a remarkable drain when misfiring. And yet, Jess Mortlock always seemed to have the time for him. Capping off a subpar cycle, his failure to either score or assist in the World Cup seems to have done him no favours. The message from the new number is clear - he's got a lot of hard work to do to get that starting place back.

1 - Diandra Ballard (FC Endeavour, APX)
12 - Reece Coleman (AFC Mayville, EUR)
20 - Seb Seward (Sabrefell Athletic)

2 - Markus Rhein (Slateport Bulls, VLD)
3 - Catheline Stockinger (FC Brimstone, APX)
5 - Hadrian Belfast (Dwile Warriors, APX, c)
6 - Tosca Marlowe (AFC Treason)
13 - Brescia Stubbs (Chatswood)
17 - Esther Cardiff (AFC Treason)
19 - Sasha Christener (Sabrefell Moths)
22 - Aidan Martyn (Pajukas Sport, BYN)

4 - Michael Brandon (Directus, EUR)
7 - Brendan Rivers (Bengtsmark IF, BYN)
8 - Rutger Locke (Tannenberg FC, VLD)
11 - Rutger Connacht (AFC Treason)
14 - Elaine Ashdown (Hastmead Diamante, OSR)
16 - Logan Murdoch (RSK Longyearbyen Town, PIS)
18 - Eloise Parrish (Maximum City)

10 - Cheney Bittencourt (Fontvielle Impact, VLD)

BRENECIA
Preferred Formation:
4-3-3
Style Modifier: +2
Home Stadium: Kingsgarden - recently refurbished, a 58,000 all-seater in the capital of Rozelle.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: the Patriots

The Patriots were a joke for so long. A team of aging veterans grinding out 1-0 wins as their domestic league struggled - yeah, no, that's something of the past. Brenecia qualified for the World Cup, and despite being the weakest team in a very tough group played with their newfound assertiveness and vigour. Despite going out in the group stages, a victory over eventual finalists Felix ensured they have something to cheer for.

So now Brenecia enters the Campionato Esportiva as dark horses, with a powerful team that looks to dominate. Could the Patriots, who have never reached the semi-finals of any competition, finally win a trophy?

Overall Record
68 wins - 38 draws - 51 losses
256 scored - 222 conceded

First Team
Image
Connolly vs. Spitfire will depend on opponent, but Connolly is likely to start more matches.

Tactics
Under Catherine Bardsley, the Brenecian national team will play aggressively for the first time in modern history. Assembling in a 4-3-3, Brenecia will rely on a fast, direct game, aiming to pump the ball forward, preferably on the wings. Meanwhile, the three central midfielders will assert themselves on the game - Breton (Armstrong) a largely defensive player, the other two more free of movement and to create play. A very quick, athletic side, Brenecia will hope to catch defences off-guard through the pace of Scherzer or Bryson up front. With regards to skill, Brenecia are somewhat a patchwork as far as depth is concerned, but they have a solid first-team despite lacking any real star players.

Catherine BARDSLEY - 43
Manager

Suddenly, Bardsley is a national hero. Faced with the unenviable task of rebuilding a national team too dependant on crumbling veterans, Bardsley's approach to focus on youth and have faith in the local league resulted in a much more entertaining squad with much more of a future. Results, eventually, followed - the result being a side that qualified for the World Cup, beat Felix, and lost to Legalese and ultimate bogey team the Calanian Union to just a goal each. Loves fast, direct, attacking football.

Conrad KEANE - 39
Assistant Manager

A clever, canny man who enjoyed a career largely in the B-League, before becoming a player/interim manager and being quite successful. Later became scout, then head scout for Kingsgrove - but evidently managing is still high in his thoughts, and when Bardsley called him up he leapt at the chance.
1 - Jayce PENCE - 30 - AFC Treason (NPH)
53 caps, 13 clean sheets
Appearance
Lean, whippetty woman with long brunette braids crowning a sharp face.
Summary A concern. Goalkeeper is a difficult position for Brenecia at the moment, but Bardsley (always a gambler) has generally favoured Pence in goal. She's erratic, often quite flappy, and was restricted to Cup matches and a few of the lesser international fixtures for AFC Treason - but at the same time, she can keep the Patriots in a match on her day. Her numbering will give her encouragement for the time being, but she'll likely be quickly dropped if her form starts to go south early.

12 - Sara FAIRHALL - 30 - North Hall
2 caps, 1 clean sheets
Appearance
A tall, strongly-built blonde.
Summary Sara Fairhall has been the outstanding A-League goalkeeper of recent seasons. She's stubbornly remained solid and workmanlike against the trend of A-League goalkeepers to be entertainingly eccentric and unreliable, and brings a firm presence to a Brenecian goalmouth that has often needed it. Somewhat susceptible to well-taken set pieces, however.

20 - Paul ASHPIKE - 28 - Honneur (ZEN)
2 caps, 1 clean sheets
Appearance
Tall, athletic man with chestnut hair and a rather severe face.
Summary An energetic sweeper who excels at most things you could ask from a goalkeeper - aside from outright shot-stopping, at which he's competent and reliable. His form has been fantastic in Zenic - a step down in terms of rank, but worthwhile in Ashpike's mind to taste UICA football. He was backup before and after he moved, so it hasn't made too massive a difference.
2 - Fiona BERENGER - 25 - Crisisbless (NPH)
Right-back
35 caps, 3 goals
Appearance
A lanky, long-legged blonde. Small snake tattoo around her left wrist.
Summary An aggressive, attack-minded, nippy little fullback, used to providing width in a narrow Crisisbless side, and ideally suited to overlapping a side like this. Something of a two-trick pony with her pace and crossing, and can occasionally be suspect in defence, but adds a lot of dimension to this team.

3 - Miriam PORTADOWN - 27 - Kingsgrove
Left-back
38 caps, 4 goals
Appearance
Small, mousy, dark-haired woman with bright green eyes.
Summary Blazing pace, tireless stamina and great vision make up for fairly average technique - and Portadown can at least cross fairly well. One of the first of a generation of Brenecians to move from the Premiership back to the A-League - something unthinkable for an international in the Hemingway/Slatesaver years - but she's only gotten better for Kingsgrove, and proven a key player in their efforts to become an international heavyweight.

5 - Seth GREIG - 33 - Chatswood (NPH)
Centre-back
62 caps, 3 goals
Appearance
Tough, muscular blond, with a sharp face.
Summary A defensive bulwark for club and country, Greig and Faulkner together is looking like Brenecia's toughest defensive partnership in its history. A spiteful, efficient centreback who makes for a tight, vicious marker. Is considering international retirement after the Campionato Esportiva, but is ruling nothing out yet.

6 - Orson FAULKNER - 27 - AC Izotz Zubia (AUD)
Centre-back, right-back
22 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Weathered-looking auburn man with rough-hewn features.
Summary A heroic performer for Zozi in the LigAnaia, Faulkner's equally comfortable at centre- and rightback and could probably do a job on the left, or in defensive midfield. A daring defender who likes to step up into the midfield and play the ball, but also very capable at just sticking tight to his mark and keeping them out of the game. Probably the best defender on the team.

13 - Brady MONROE - 27 - Northern Union
Centre-back
Uncapped
Appearance
Weathered-looking brunet, powerful build.
Summary The one who got away for Northern Union - formerly one of their top prospects as a teenager and a U-21 for Nephara through parentage, he was haunted by injury. The move abroad that seemed to be inevitable did materialise, but it was to the Nepharim second tier. After rebuilding his career, however, Monroe won a return to Union, and seems to have largely recovered from his cruciate hell. A powerful, talented centreback, set to be a fixture for club and, after Greig departs, country - but one has to wonder what could have been.

17 - Constantine BOWYER - 28 - Sabrefell Athletic (NPH)
Left-back
33 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tough, strong man with a sleeve tattoo, stubble and wavy auburn hair.
Summary A fairly well-balanced fullback, Bowyer's a very strong, muscular player capable of dominating generally smaller, weaker wingers. He also offers the team another threat by way of his long throws - something more suited to Slatesaver's era and Bowyer's former club, Cranequin Wanderers, but still a useful Plan B for his current club and country.

19 - Scout GIVEN - 23 - Pajukas Sport (BYN)
Right-back
Uncapped
Appearance
A tall, lean and angular sandy blonde with very deep brown eyes.
Summary A quick-footed and quick-witted rightback who's been starting in the A-League for years before a move to Buyan. Right-back has always been a very competitive place in the Brenecian national team, but Given is perhaps the better defensive player, and might be able to edge Berenger in time. Not yet, though.

22 - Ash KILCANE - 26 - AC Zevella (YTT)
Centre-back
11 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tall, strong and lean, with braided auburn hair.
Summary A devilishly fast player, Kilcane's no brute, but she can more than hold her own. A player most at home hanging tightly to her mark, harrying and lashing out at them over the course of the match, and rarely caught out of position - though her single-mindedness can occasionally count against her.
4 - Augustine BRETON - 28 - Brinemouth (NPH)
Holding Midfielder
44 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lean, tough-looking brunet with a generally severe expression.
Summary A strong holding player who also adds a lot to the attack with his accurate, quick forward passing. Breton's not the quickest of players, nor the most physical, but he's an intelligent, technical midfielder who quietly adds that extra dimension to a team. That said, seemed out of his depth in the World Cup, and hasn't had a great couple of seasons domestically.

8 - Erin CAMDEN (c) - 29 - Northern Union
Central Midfielder
63 caps, 16 goals
Appearance
A lean, wiry brunette with a small face and frame.
Summary A player with both culture and hard graft to offer the team, Camden is the latest of many players to turn back to the A-League after largely making her name for her native Parrhesia. Has far outgrown the player ('mediocre, tasty free kicks I guess') people thought she'd become as a youth, and deserves everything she's fought hard to win.

10 - Catherine PURRINGTON - 24 - Wye United (APX)
Central Midfielder
23 caps, 6 goals
Appearance
A short, rather stocky, unathletic woman with a short mop of dark brown hair.
Summary Five goals in twenty matches from midfield made sure Purrington caught plenty of eyes last cycle, and she's capable of even better. Purrington is 5'3" on a good day, has a figure that could charitably be called 'unathletic', has a leisurely top speed, holds a defensive workrate that tends to last about three yards, and only theoretically possesses a right foot. What's left is one boot that has a touch that can be as soft as a feather brushing against water or as hard as being punched by God, and a football intelligence that makes certain she puts it to lethal use. A key part of the team.

16 - Rowena STAMPER - 29 - Kingsgrove
Central Midfielder
10 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Sharp-faced with chestnut, shoulder-length hair and an average frame.
Summary More well-balanced than any Purrington replacement has a right to be, Stamper's not really a like-for-like but she's certainly an attack-minded, enterprising and incisive midfielder who adds genuine bite going forward. Really steps up to the big occasions for both club and country, and her nerves of steel have lead to her becoming Kingsgrove captain.

21 - Kurtis ARMSTRONG - 29 - Foxchester Raiders (STB)
Defensive Midfielder
20 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A tall, lean blond, fairly tanned.
Summary A true midfield enforcer, Armstrong's pace, stamina and strength make him a perfect harrier to put a bit of stick about in the midfield. The Falkner-born midfielder's also a loyal, brave sort, who tends to be a source of calm and strength in the dressing room in times of duress - were he part of the first-team, he'd be a clear candidate for captaincy. A standout performer in the World Cup - his superior defensive work meant he played in all three matches, and did well in each.

23 - Hecate CHARING - 26 - Rozelle
Central Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
A six-foot-one hazel-eyed blonde, lean and muscular with an angular face.
Summary With the best passing range in the A-League, Charing's ability to find the perfect pass can cut A-League defences apart, and it's a handy skill at international level too. She's a capable all-rounder in other aspects, pulling her weight respectably until the critical moment she puts her clinical passing into action. A born leader, and a perfect penalty-taker.
7 - Isadora CULLEN - 25 - Barbury Town (APX)
Right Winger
29 caps, 9 goals
Appearance
Pale brunette with a sharp, ferretty face.
Summary Isadora Cullen is just a backup for Barbury but is a crucial cog in the machine for the Patriots. Quick of mind and body, and with a genuine flair to her play, Cullen's dangerous whenever she's on the ball and always looks to either make or enable those key runs past the defence. She proved her ability by scoring Brenecia's first ever World Cup goal and setting up their fifth and last by drawing a penalty.

9 - Cheney SCHERZER - 27 - Wye United (APX)
Striker
44 caps, 29 goals
Appearance
Slick dark brown hair with an angular face and a prominent nose. Pin-up material.
Summary Scherzer's national form is nothing short of spectacular. The pacy centreforward has a perfect set of attributes - speed, control, finishing and stamina - to get on the end of every chance a direct pair of wingers can set for his runs. There's others who create more, or do more, but Scherzer's the crucial key to making certain all their good work comes to goals.

11 - Miriam SPITFIRE (vc) - 33 - FC Brimstone (APX)
Left Winger
118 caps, 23 goals
Appearance
Weather-beaten blonde. Lean and sinewy.
Summary A national legend, the only Brenecian to play both in Baptism of Fire and World Cup, and now record caps-holder, Spitfire is a hero. Her pace isn't nearly what it once was, and she doesn't often finish matches against quality opposition, but her immensely powerful left boot is combined with a real cleverness and some fine ball control skills to make for a lethal winger even at 33. She intends to retire from international football after this tournament, but wouldn't it be nice to send her off with a trophy?

14 - Tanith BRYSON - 30 - Chatswood (NPH)
Striker
32 caps, 13 goals
Appearance
Lean greyhound of a striker, with shoulder-length brown braids.
Summary Bryson's a true hound of a striker, fast and clinical but more importantly with a low cunning about her that lets her get past basically any defender. She might not have the pace of Scherzer, but she brings something different to the team - and frankly, her form with Chatswood over the past three seasons makes her all but undroppable.

15 - Matt KILGALLON - 28 - Foxchester Raiders (STB)
Right Winger
8 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Tall, tough, sinewy sandy blond.
Summary A workmanlike, muscular winger, very much in the Nepharim mold. Never actually played in Nephara, but did play that role for a rough Saint Alexander before making the step up to the LigAnaia. A physical, energetic presence, but with the technique to support it. His ability to contribute stoutly to the defence is a nice perk, as well - hard-won from his experiences with often-struggling Foxchester.

18 - Larissa CONNOLLY - 26 - Falkner United
Left Winger
15 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
5'5", compact and muscular, with a dark brown ponytail.
Summary An incisive winger who gets goals wherever she plays, the prolific Connolly's one of the stars of the Premiership. Theoretically a backup, she saw thirteen caps last cycle and notched up four goals from them, often coming off the bench - the effect of her dynamic energy against a tired defence (and the fact that Spitfire's legs aren't what they used to be) make her the natural choice for a game-changing substitution. As shown against Felix in the World Cup, where she scored the winner exactly that way.

1 - Jayce Pence (AFC Treason, NPH)
12 - Sara Fairhall (North Hall)
20 - Paul Ashpike (Honneur, ZEN)

2 - Fiona Berenger (Crisisbless, NPH)
3 - Miriam Portadown (Kingsgrove)
5 - Seth Greig (Chatswood, NPH)
6 - Orson Faulkner (AC Izotz Zubia, AUD)
13 - Brady Monroe (Northern Union)
17 - Constantine Bowyer (Sabrefell Athletic, NPH)
19 - Scout Given (Pajukas Sport, BYN)
22 - Ash Kilcane (AC Zevella, YTT)

4 - Augustine Breton (Brinemouth, NPH)
8 - Erin Camden (Northern Union, c)
10 - Catherine Purrington (Wye United, APX)
16 - Rowena Stamper (Kingsgrove)
21 - Kurtis Armstrong (Foxchester Raiders, STB)
23 - Hecate Charing (Rozelle)

7 - Isadora Cullen (Barbury Town, APX)
9 - Cheney Scherzer (Wye United, APX)
11 - Miriam Spitfire (FC Brimstone, APX, vc)
14 - Tanith Bryson (Chatswood, NPH)
15 - Matt Kilgallon (Foxchester Raiders, STB)
18 - Larissa Connolly (Falkner United)

Coach: Jules Easton. What many in Chrovan would refer to as a 'World Traveler', in reality he's just vacationed in a handful of other Esportivan nations. Chrovanians don't get out much. He was selected mostly due to his familiarity with both football and international football, having been his school's premier striker back in the day and having done well enough managing the Chrovish team for the past few Compionatos. With his history as a front-man, he enjoys attacking football, playing about a +4.25 on a scale of -5 to +5. He had held open tryouts before the team's debut rather than dipping into the nation's amateur league, as the standard of play there is terrible. That turned out to be a good decision.

Stating XI:
Keeper: Delmar Peck, #1. He's usually good, but when things start to go wrong, they go really wrong.
Left Back: Quincey Booner, #2. A heavy drunkard. He regularly switches between the good kind of physical player and the bad kind.
Center Back: Andrew Law, #3. A fifth-generation lawyer, his family is one of the most respected in Chrovan. He's also quite athletic.
Right Back: Rupert Eustis, #4. A simple turnip farmer. He's a quiet fellow, and very hard working.
Defensive Center: Syd Tolbert, #5. Plays professionally, allegedly. Always changes the subject when you ask where.
Left Wing: Chuck Paddon, #6. A sailor. He's a rather loud fellow, but just as hard working as Eustis.
Center: Marion Steed, #7. A horse raiser. He's gotten quick from having to chase them down.
Center: Brennan Donalds, #8. <Captain> He actually does play football for a living, in Chrovan's amateur league. It's a very amateur league, though. He's won Player of the Year nine years running.
Right Wing: Tracey Rimmer, #9. The Chrovan National Orchestra's lead percussionist, and their pickup-football team's captain.
Left Forward: Brenton Smythe, #10. The only player who's contested Donalds for Player of the Year, he usually loses out do to him being on an overall better team (whereas Donalds carries his entire team by himself).
Right Forward: Donovan Jacobson, #11. He can kick really, really hard.

Bench:
Keeper: Daryl Ingram, #12.
Defender: Nicholas Michael, #13.
Defender: Delbert Lawson, #14.
Defender: Ricki Power, #15.
Winger: Silas Bourke, #16.
Winger: Webster Bishop, #18.
Center: Kurtis Ness, #17.
Center: Bob Traves, #19.
Forward: Willard Bonham, #20.
Striker: Hawken Linke, #21.

Gregoryisgodistan to Open Campeonato with Game Against Land of Forbidden Fruit

The Gregoryisgodistan Foot Slaves will open the Campeonato Esportiva with a game against the land of the fruits who call themselves by a forbidden name but who we will call xylocarps. (OOC: Coconutstan.) These xylocarps insist on using forbidden fruit words and insulting the One True Lord, Lord Almighty Gregory. As a result, Foot Slaves Head Coach Horse Beater KFIU9140 has issued a statement saying "Normally I am a horse beater, but when we play Xylocarpstan, I will be a Xylocarp Beater. I will smash all the sapient xylocarps on the opposing team and in the stands who are cheering on that team of fruit. They will die. They will bleed milk and we will smash them repeatedly with sledgehammers. We will brutally assault the xylocarps until they cry for mercy and then we will brutally assault them some more. Xylocarps are evil. We must destroy them! We already invaded Xylocarpstan and killed most of the xylocarps. Now let's kill the rest!"

Campeonato Esportiva Preview

Here is the Preview and prediction of Gregoryisgodistan's group stage matches at the Campeonato Esportiva XII. Will the Foot Slaves win the tournament? Will they do decently enough? Will Lord Almighty Gregory guide us to victory? We'll soon find out, but for now, here is a preview of our matches.

MD1: Xylocarpstan We open with the land of the forbidden fruit. This will be a fruit-smashing game and the Foot Slaves will win easily unless they get too many red cards from smashing xylocarps. I guess we will have to wait until the end of the match. Prediction: Win 2-0

MD2: Varmelle An unranked team. Nobody cares about them. We will win easily again, thanks to the guidance of Lord Almighty Gregory. Maybe Soccer Captain Laredo Potato will even score a hat trick. He is a great player with a great name. This one won't be close. Prediction: Win 3-1

MD3: Kazamatsuri Now it gets harder. We face Kazamatsuri, an up and coming team and top seed in the group. Will we win? No, we'll lose. But it will be close and we will score a goal. We think this Foot Slaves team has a good chance to go to the knockout stage in the CEXII, but not to win this game. Prediction: Loss 2-1

MD4: Brenecia Can we pull the upset for our third win of the group stage? We think so. Foot Slaves for the win. Gregoryisgodistan is a surprisingly good team and we'll pull the upset. Prediction: Win 1-0

Then there's the bye on MD5 so we go 3-0-1. That should probably put us to the next round, though maybe not. It could depend on tiebreakers if Brenecia beats Kazamatsuri. And then we'd all be 3-0-1. But we should go through. All praise Foot Slaves and Lord Almighty Gregory!
Gregoryisgodistan, population 75,000,000. All citizens are required to worship Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state, as a deity.

Notes

Following the failure of Rule Theriault's National Soccer Team to qualify for World Cup 70 or win Cup of Harmony 62, a new law (the National Sports Team Nationalization Act) was passed by both the Assembly and the Senate and signed by Consul Kulseth. This law permitted the nationalization of any Republican National Team, at the discretion of the Consul. While Rule Theriault protested the law, it nonetheless passed the Assembly with the help of Progressive votes. While it was much more difficult to secure passage through the Senate, Kulseth secured its passage by locking the doors to the Senate building and refusing to open them until the bill passed. The Senate relented after a little over 36 hours and Kulseth had seized Theriault's team.

Upon seizing control of the team, the first thing the Kulseth regime did was enter the Campionato Esportiva, in order to submit a host bid. While the World Assembly has long regarded the nation formerly known as the Federation of Free Republics as part of the region of Esportiva, Theriault had always refused to enter Esportiva's regional tournament since he looked on the region and its inhabitants. In the days before Saintland's mysterious and sudden move to Rushmore, the Republicans and Sanctii could always participate in their own regional tournament, representing their own little corner of Esportiva that didn't consider themselves to be part of Esportiva. But, that changed after the Sanctii somehow ended up in Rushmore and the Republicans were left playing a bunch of minnows in a "regional" tournament. Their repeated failure to win the UWCFA Gold Cup proved to be just one of many suspicious match outcomes during Theriault's tenure, as the Republican team developed a habit of dropping points to much weaker opposition on a regular basis.

While Kulseth originally intended to send a competitive team to the CE, he was upset by the result of the host vote and angered by the way his nation was being officially referred to as the "Free Republics" by the Apoxian hosts. Therefore, Kulseth asked his hand-picked manager Petrus Fadius to find a manager for a U-10 team, to be comprised of the best players in the Republican division of the True Church's youth soccer system.

Lucas Gavius, the 35-year-old former captain of St. Alessandro in the Sanctii domestic system, was Fadius's choice. Gavius was never a star player in the Sanctii domestic leagues, but he was known for his hard work and his leadership abilities. He had already been hand-picked by Fadius as an assistant manager for the Republican National Team and now he was to be given the responsibility of leading a team of young children into the Campionato Esportiva. After being chosen as the manager of the U-10 Team, Gavius sat down with Fadius and the WCRSB staff to go over footage of the best youth players in the H.R.E. Gavius chose the players that he felt would be best suited to the Pyramid formation that he intended to utilize, ultimately choosing a team comprised of boys from all over the Empire, including a number of boys from the colonies. With a style of play more reminiscent of the Republican domestic leagues than international soccer, most observers expect the Republican National Team to be humiliated on a nightly basis in the CE. However, what these observers don't understand is that the decision to send a U-10 team to the CE is an attempt by the new management of the Republican National Soccer organization to display their faith and trust in God, in the hope that He will reward them for having faith in Him.

"Well it looks like the nation is emerging from isolation now. Started a domestic football league a few years back and now they are entering something called the Campionato Esportiva. Weird isn't it?"

"Well, no more weird than being drawn into the same group as their neighbors in Yttribia in their first go around in this thing, which I believe is regional tournament for the national team in associated football. Just so you know."

"I knew what it was, I'm not an idiot!"

"Anyhow, I find it highly surprising that the manager decided to go with a squad of essentially youngsters for the tournament. Granted I know most of the players in the domestic league are in the seventeen to twenty-four range, but a little bit more experience in their ranks than mostly just teenagers."

"Youthful optimism and hope maybe, aren't we supposed to get demolished by the rest of the teams in the group or something? I mean, the whole new national team and a bunch of youth players, maybe they are young enough not to care and just go out and play? Maybe pull of an upset or two?"

"I guess it will be a bit of trial by fire, though I wonder how the Queen will take it if we are really torn apart like all the prognosticates are saying we will be. She is not one to take any slight to the nation, no matter how small, very lightly."

"She has a few screws loose if you ask me."

"Shhh, don't say that, they may hear you!!!"

The Felixian Football Association Presents...

Felixian National Football Team

After a heartbreaking loss against Osarius in the World Cup 70 final in Equestrian States; the Felixian National team is eager to move on and finally conquer their bogey tournament, the Campionato Esportiva. The coach, Mizuyuki national Ishikawa Haruka, is under no pressure from anyone both the press and the FFA due to her over exceeding her own goal of finishing in the Quarterfinals. So expect Felix to be more liberated in their style of play, a lot like how they were after the edged out Nephara in the Round of 16. Ishikawa promised that Felix will not only make it to the Round of 16 but said that with the way Felix played this WC they will win the whole thing and with the amount of talent they have right now and how they played in the World Cup no one should be surprised that they will.

GK (2)-
Kiki Nuremberg {Age: 27} (1830 Cathair FC Image)*

When Kiki Nuremberg was named starting goalkeeper the nation was divided between her and her understudy and rival Arthur Schultheis on who should be starter. Now? Not so much. Between her club performance in one of the toughest leagues in the multiverse and in the UICA tournaments and her national team performance where not only did she block, perry, and intercept balls well but she even scored a penalty kick in the shootout against HopNation in the semifinals. Everyone in the team expects her to do continue her good run of form this tournament.

Arthur Schultheis {Age: 27} (Sieburg Image)

He isn't a bad goalkeeper, he's pretty good and at one point compete against Kiki Nuremberg after the previous goalkeeper retired. But unfortunately he sort of faded away, his performance as emergency goalkeeper in the Legalese game wasn't one to remember as he allowed 4 goals, although to be fair he did make some stunning saves throughout the game to give Felix a chance for victory near the end. He isn't expected start at all this CE though, he will probably perform as emergency GK should Kiki tweak her ankle or something.

DEF (8)-
Alexis Garcia {Age: 30} [Vice-Captain] (FC Endeavour Image)*

Alexis Garcia has achieved legendary status as defender and was recently named as vice-captain of the team by his teammates. It's amazing how far he has progressed, from a shy and silent young player to one that is a strong voice in the locker room and a force to contend with in both his club and the Felixian National team. He will certainly, without a doubt, start every single match as his speed and excellent timing for slide tackles will do Felix a wealth of good.

Manuele Provenza {Age: 31} (Falourr Image)*

He's reaching a point of his career where being a second place finisher in the WC might be his only achievement. And knowing him, he probably doesn't want to retire without a golden trophy. Have you seen his Blabber posts? He has been recently announcing that the CE is one for Felix to win and if they don't he will retire on the spot from the NT. Let's hope Felix wins, because without the fiery Manuele the team would certainly be different. He will start every match he physically can.

Ute Kästner {Age: 24} (Cloudsdale Flyers Image)*

In the 70th World Cup the birth of new footballing stars were witnessed and Ute Kästner, formerly of SC Volker, was one of them. His enthusiasm, athletic ability and his no quit attitude was seen by trillions of fans across the multiverse as he substituted for either injured/tired players and made a huge impact in a match. Because of that not only was he bought by a Equestrian club he was also named as one of the permeate starters in this CE. Let's hope he can continue to shine.

Ferdinand Gottlieb {Age: 31} (Avenida Principal Image)**

Ferdinand Gottlieb is slowly fading away as a player in the NT. He's good but years of physical football has taken a toll out of him. It is rumoured that he will retire from the NT after this CE and he might move back to Volker after plying his trade in Farfadillis, a nation famous for the their physical football and their crap defending skills. He will start most matches but don't be surprised if he gets benched from the starting XI.

Albert Baumann {Age: 30} (SC Volker Image)

After years of being snubbed from the national team Albert Baumann, who is the team captain of SC Volker, was finally called up for the CE following the retirement of a player. With a spot sort of open in the starting lineup there is a chance that he could appear in the CE. And he would work well in this system as he has the nice mix of speed and strength with his brute force being is stronger trait.

Hemi {Age: 26} (Franz Josef Young Boys Image)

Hemi is a Kaji footballer formerly of Universidad de Santander and has moved way up north to Polar Islandstates to play for Franz Josef Young Boys. He has had a good career there and it earned him a spot as a potential substitute for any defender in the national team. But his performances haven't been spectacular meaning he won't be a starter anytime soon. But he can be a late sub in to be used in desperate situations and his good heading accuracy and jumping ability will do wonders in corners.

Felipe Garcia {Age: 25} (SC Volker Image)

Felipe Garcia is a good defender who is being pegged as a replacement for any defender that retires after this CE due his performance at the club level with SC Volker. His combination of skills makes him a well balanced defender who is also good at passing. He basically the complete player. The only weak point is his shooting skills which makes sense, he's a defender. He will see some starts in the lineup as Ishikawa will rest some players for tougher games.

Loris Bologna {Age: 25} (Kingsgrove Image)

She is Felipe's main competitor for that pending open spot and it makes sense that she is. She is strong and determined to keep playing at all costs. She has the heart of true athlete. Plus, she has been doing amazingly well with Kingsgrove in Nephara just like Felipe Garcia has been doing well at his hometown club. Loris, like her adversary, is probably gonna see some starts this Campionato and will certainly make an impact on the pitch.

MID (10)-
Gabriel Jenaro {Age: 31} [Captain] (Burgess FC Image)*

Jenaro is writing a new chapter in his football story in which he moves to a new club in the Union after the one in Yttribia was failing. So this CE is important for him individually, which is ironic because he's the captain of the team and that is usually pegged as the most selfless job in football. If he acts like he usually does though, he won't need to be selfish and Burgess FC can easily and will easily accept him for who he is. A great footballer with an eye for passing it around to open teammates. He will start every CE match.

Sebastian Krister {Age: 29} (Bjarnarey Flotilla Image)*

He is still the star player of Felix. He is still probably the best one Felix has. And he still a key figure in the team. He will certainly be a starter for this team. Especially since his club has been progressing in the tough Polar Islandstates league meaning he's been playing more and has been showcasing his skills in UICA competition. He also was good in the WC where he did some magic of his own by scoring some neat goals and was one of the leaders in Felix's run for WC glory.

Maria Martell {Age: 28} (Saberfell Moths Image)*

Maria Martell has been progressing nicely in her career as a midfielder. She is a main starter for the NT and has been doing quite alright in her club. She has the focus, patience and skill to be a midfield general and she has been doing a great job at that in the latest WC, she was instrumental for some big plays that resulted in either goals or goal chances. She will be a starter in the CE.

Ji Iseul Kwan {Age: 31} (Ponyville United Image)**

Ji Iseul Kwan is a great player but he is slowly declining as a player. His age is starting to show and like Ferdinand Gottlieb is probably going to be replaced next time a tournament comes up. He is good but he isn't what he use to be. Nonetheless, he will be a frequent starter but don't be surprised if he isn't included in the starting XI.

Chloe Álvarez {Age: 28} (Bjarnarey Flotilla Image)**

Chloe is also on the verge of losing her starting job with her less than inspiring performances in both country and club. She has done well back in her club but it hasn't been impressive in Ishikawa's eyes. Meaning, like her teammate Kwan, she might not appear in the starting XI all the time, giving younger folk a chance to shine this Campionato.

Rudolf Venetianer {Age: 23} (Chatswood Image)

As mentioned earlier, this WC produced many stars and Rudolf Venetainer, formerly of SC Volker, is another one. He has been dubbed the next Gabriel Jenaro and it makes sense that he has been labelled that because he has the skills and the knowledge to use them just like the 31 one year old player does. Which frightening considering he is only 23. He will start sporadically as he will probably replace Chloe or Kwan.

Fernando Cleto {Age: 30} (Lotus Park Image)

Cleto is a solid substitute for the national team and played well in the WC when he was called on to do what he needed to do. He will probably be in that role again this CE as he will be used as needed but he probably won't be a starter for the XI every matchday in the CE. But he is a solid player, so he might as well start should Chloe decline in form.

Nickolaus Dürr {Age: 28} (St. John's Arsenal Image)

Nickolaus is man of a lot of potential but hasn't been able to show that. He will be on this team but he won't be a constant starter unless something happens. Still, this guy has some skill. He is the perfect defensive midfielder for Felix and will be used when Felix is in the lead and wants to keep it.

Kunibert Mathias {Age: 28} (Brinemouth Image)

This is odd, former national team star finally returns home after the Fascist regime falls in a brutal civil war. Most Felixians are welcoming of him but others are silently opposing him coming back. Nonetheless he is here and while he doesn't have the starting role immediately the fact he got called up and replaced a amazing Cato player, Hanna Alexanderson. So will he see the pitch the CE? Of course, he played super well in Nephara and that should result him in play well when he appears.

León Félix {Age: 22} (Aturra SC Image)

The Wunderkind has finally grown up. This is his first call up in the senior side after a illustrious career in the U-15 and U-21 NT. He will certainly see the pitch, after all he has been followed by millions of Felixians since he was 14, if he doesn't start he there will probably be riots in front of the FFA headquarters. Ok, there won't be. But there could be a mass demonstration, or two.

FWD (4)-
Luca Esser {Age: 25} (Matthew City Rangers Image)**

Luca Esser was a famous U-21 starlet and after falling out of favour with Ishikawa due to his declining club form but he finally returned to the spotlight after doing amazingly well in his new club, Matthew City Rangers. He is now the starter after Mikel Araboa retired from international duty after finding out he had a WC ending injury and after Fabio Montero failed to take advantage of that chance due to a weak immune system. He'll start most matches but don't be surprised if he doesn't start all 90 minutes.

Fabio Montero {Age: 30} (Sieburg Image)

He was famous for his late bloomness in the national team. Now? With his weak immune system? He is famous for vomiting on the pitch. It's sad, everyone knows it but he has that reputation now. Will he be starting this CE? Yeah, of course he will, he'll gets some nods should Ishikawa feel like it. Montero will be desperate to purge (no pun intended) this new reputation he has.

Fiacre Bellerose {Age: 23} (Northern Union Image)

A new star, created by WC 70. At this point we shouldn't be surprised, especially considering the run Felix had. He will certainly fight for a starting spot in the national team and will also be fighting for that substitution time. He probably win the whole thing when Fabio retires or drops out of the NT and will contend with Luca Esser all the time giving him pressure all the time to maintain his job.

Gösta Ahlberg {Age: 23} (Real Santa Maria Image)

He's a rising star player in football but hasn't had a chance to show it in the NT due to the fierce competition in the striker position. But he has some good attributes and only needs one chance to show off his skills and convince his manager and the fans, that he can be the starter of the attacking corp. He will have slim chances in starting and even substituting but when he will expect a great performance by him.

Manager-
Ishikawa Haruka {Age: 25} Image

Start building statues for this woman because she just lead The Phoenix to a second place finish in one of the biggest tournaments in the multiverse. She smashed her/FFA's target of a quarterfinal finish and nearly won the whole thing had it not been for Osarius's inspiring play in the second half. She is eager to win a tournament for Felix and she sees this edition of the Campionato Esportiva as an opportunity to do that and set the bar high for herself. Winning the damned tournament that has been plaguing the Felixians ever since they entered the thing.

*= Automatic placing
**= Fought position

MD5: Matchday 5 is a bye for our players as they will start packing their stuff.

Anastasio Luca sais to the players:
AL: Today is the day that we must manage our first win, not only because it will make us happy and makes us reach the Round of 16 in an easier way but because it was worth the training those 2 years, it was worth conceding as well as scoring goals against our opponents. Tonight, we are facing Olmerica on FCB Stadium, we must win, we must give successful passes to each other, we must shoot on target, make as many chances as possible and then come back and defend like the enemy holds rifles and attacks our country. Today, play for the people.
