The Waters on Fire is new RP from SACTO for SACTO. It is basically simulation of communist group hijacking a tanker, and threatening to blow it up if about 250 anarcho-communists all around the world, especially in SACTO counties, won't be released from prisons.

Huang He is an BT-class supertanker, which technical data I will provide later on, alongside with plans an all other things that are needed for the assault.

I want this simulation to be as truthful as possible: there won't be just assault, but whole preparation, negotiations with terrorists, and so on. If you need to consult me on something connected to it, feel free to TG.

A few thoughts:

1. We need a simulated location of some kind, to give us a geographical basis. It doesn't have to be hugely expansive, but is the supertanker in a fixed location or on the move--in what kind of waters? Coastal, deep, in a bay? What kind of land features if any are nearby? Is there a nearby urban area or is the nearest land rural?

2. Parameters for what kind of units may be involved. I recommend smaller--for instance I would recommend company/squadron/single vessel strength units per nation.

3. Who gets to play the opposition, and what kind of support do they get.

4. Parameters for victory or failure.

5. I'd like to suggest that SATCO also play a bit with ic planning and operations, since this is meant to test us as an alliance, so there should be a designated command given to one player to coordinate the whole thing. Other players should be given specific roles.

1. At this moment, the supertanker has stopped some distance from the Wangzhou islands. The waters are about 100-120 meters deep. The Wangzhou islands are heavily populated protectorate of Wangda. The ship stopped about 40km from the island's major port.

2. I was thinking of such units. This would depend on our roles.

3. I will play as them. They are ARA, Anarchist Revolutionary Army. International terrorist group which managed to build cells in multiple counties. I will describe their demands, armaments and positioning in later posts.

5. I actually proposed this in my OP. I believe that we shall set a commander soon, and he will assign interested players into specific roles they will carry.

I'd like to propose offering a LPD or similar New Edomite naval vessel for support of the operation, perhaps paired with a frigate--either New Edomite or some other SATCO member's,not picky about that. What I could then offer would be berthing for anyone's special ops unit they wished to use as well as some other ground units to back them up if it was needed. There would be access to places to store equipment as well as our own RHIBs, LCACSs, helicopters, UAVs and if needed planes like Harriers or Ospreys could be provided or given space for.

I agree. A vessel with most SACTO forces, a naval SACTO MOB. I plan on using RHIBs, and a possible stealth fighter. If I can't use a stealth fighter [if your vessel in mind is not a carrier], I'll just use a UAV...

After reading a little, I'd like to propose some of the things we discussed in Chat (which you brought up too).

1: That these terrorist be linked to the 'Anarchists Against Empire' AAE organization. Im not suggestion direct membership or anything, as that's not the AAE's style. I am suggesting they provided support, such as help funding them or help arming them, etc.. Nothing major really.

2: Someone mentioned this above, but I figured the recent news story would portray to this. As you suggested, I would like some of the prisoners they demand to be freed involve some in my country - including Ralph R. Surber. It would play into the plot and the next suggestion.

3: There are Commoner contractors on-board. They can be contractors from CEI or immigrated workers, or whatever. You already suggested this so im okay with it.

I will take part by deploying my one assault ship and two escorts to the scene as a response. Details in the donation ORBAT I made out.

I'll have marines in the deployment so I can handle the EOD forces. But I wont do the negotiations. TECT is better known for sinking pirates then talking to them, so us speaking to them would not help - we wouldn't want to talk much anyways. We will have snipers and UAV on scene so we can provide their services too.

That is not a problem, but negotiations can help us for example buy some time for preparation or know terrorists more. Not saying you will carry them anyway.

Pff. I barely negotiate with criminals. Intelligence I can do, mainly locating the tanker and stuff if needed.

Negotiations can buy us some time or help us prepare the assault. We can bluff them, lie to them to win our goals. Them letting negotiators inside is also perfect opportunity to gather intelligence about them.
