The ATP World Tour Finals held in Telm City

It is that time of year. Welcome to the first annual ATP World Tour Finals held by Britonisea. This tournament will take place in the former capital City of Telm City. If you don't have a clue what ATP is, please carry on reading, If you do, just skip the next bit.

ATP to Britonisea

The ATP in Britonisea is a very big anticipated event. ATP stands for Association of Tennis Professionals and this is a tournament where the tennis players of the world get ranked. In 2014, The ATP is the only functional Tennis series that goes around the world. The ATP consist of four grand slam and a world Tour Final. As you can tell, The World Tour Finals (Or WTF, although this abbreviation is frowned upon by Britonisea), is being held in Britonisea where the top 8 doubles and singles come together to play some quality tennis to pick out the winner of The ATP World Tour Finals and better yet, the Winner of this year's ranks. We have gotten so far, from the Lzher-Jeckland Invitational to now. Let's get started...but first...

Scorination

There will then be a one day break for the nations to put a last push for that RP Bonus and then the semis and Finals will happen on different days.
My RP will be based on a scale from 0, being the lowest...no detail at all, and quite boring and 5...which has detail, interesting and fun to read. Songs and tunes will also be judged the same way. Then Rosters (Telling us the players in the finals) will be judge from 0-5 but a 5 would give you higher points. The score that a player has received will be divided by 100 while the RPs will be times by 20.

RPers

I don't just want Ceni, Costa, Estope and I to RP on this thread. This is an opportunity for everybody to RP. One may want to RP about the new year and what they will be forth the tournaments for next year. Some may want to RP about the World Tour Finals as this is an important occasion and I can say that probably all of the nations who participated in the ATP this year is broadcasting this. So please, don't be scared to RP here. It will be much appreciated! Now, shall we get to the lucky 8 singles and the 8 doubles?

Knowing Telm City

"Road to Telm, Britonisea prepares to host first tennis ATP World Tour FInals"- The Britonish Guardian

"Telm City, the City of Skyscrapers."- The Britonish Commonwealth Magazine

"Telm City, beauty by the sea"- The Telm Magazine

The Telm City Olympic Stadium has previously hosted The First Athletics Championships about one year ago. Even though there has been a change of where the ATP World Tour Finals will be held, there will still be the same facilities as Doportedas. This includes, 77,000 people coming to watch each tournament per match. There are realy good strobe effects and lightings which will be used in the quick Opening Ceremony on the 29th before the start of the ATP World Tour Finals. Britonisea is a bit sporty after hosting a 42 event Regional Olympic Games so expect some headlines. This, as I said in the bid, is a time to celebrate. Like (RL), there will be music every time a player walks out on to the tennis court which is usually a four hundred metre track. The tournament won't even last a week. It starts on Monday and finishes on Saturday which is only 6 days. Since we have a rest day, it would actually be 5 days.

TRANSPORT IN TELM CITY & THE BIAS

Transport in Telm City will be no problem. Having the country's biggest transport system, Telm City is able to hold it's population twice (which would be 44,000,000) on the transport system at a time. Per year, over 100 million people go on to the trains, buses, Light railway and Boat/Air Line rides. Telm City has three airports inside or on the outskirts of the city. When it comes to the players coming to Britonisea, they will arrive here in a Britonish Airways First Class aeroplane. They will then be transported to the bus and coach terminal via the Telm Airport cart. This ride will be about 10 minutes. From there, they will then board a luxury coach to Telm City Olympic Stadium which is quite close to The Tennis Complex which was host to The Britannual Britonish Open in 2013.

Hotel and Experience

If they want, on the 31st they will be allowed to go to the Telm City Fireworks display to enter the new year. They will not be with the normal crowd but they will be on a river cruise ship which has a closer view to the spectacular scene. It is so big that you can see it in Doportedas which is the capital City. On January 1st they will be either allowed to shop, rest or train in the nearby Tennis Complex where no one but staff will be onsite so the players shouldn't get hassled by screaming fans. Until they are confronted by one of the biggest audience that they have had all year. The Britonish love tennis to the point where tennis is appointed the countries national sport. Every child who goes to school, who is everybody as it's free Education, will have to do Tennis in their curriculum and has to take it as a part for their KEWQAE which is an exam that one takes in Year E.

Accommodation in Britonisea is okay. It is not too bad. You see a lot of 4 stars but your rarely see a 1-3 and 5 star in Telm City. Just four stars which is not bad. During the tournament, the Britonish Tennis Association says that they will not feed the players a full English Breakfast but things that will fill them with the proper nutrients. Once the player has been knocked out of the tournament, they will have enough time to go and get as much bacon, eggs, beans, toast and much more as they wish. We only want the best for our players. The Players will also be able to book rooms from outside the 4 star hotel that we are providing but this is not the best idea. There will be full security on each player

The Road to Telm City

It has been an outstanding year for Electrum tennis. This year was our debut, and after the last tournament in Hamilton, we finally have a top twenty player in Mia Cassington. With eight entries in the singles tournament, they have all performed to varying successes, with the constant changes in the top ranked player in Electrum serves as an incentive for continual improvement. We hope they continue their success next year as well. Also, it has been an absolutely fantastic years in the doubles, with the Gredello/Levinsky pair managing to make their way to the top of the rankings, as well as finding their way to the ATP World Tour Finals, where they are the only Electrumite representatives.

Sonya Gredello and Rosa Levinsky have been one of those pairs who had absolutely no idea from the beginning that they would do so well. They had initially signed up for a Kannapian competition, but then were transferred over to the (May edition) of the Cenian Open. They managed to break out and get to their first final on their debut, eventually losing to the Xal sisters, which in due course and time, will become their biggest nemesis. They would rarely get to meet up however, as Gredello and Levinsky's rise in the rankings would mean the seeding structure would prevent them from meeting up until the finals. In the next tournament, the formerly named Electrum International (now Hamilton International), the Xal sisters would be stunned by Britonisea's Lance Mance/Elizabeth Quehall, whereas the Electrumite pair had a dominant tournament. They would go on to defeat the Britonisean pair in four sets.

The next tournament was the holding of the Cenian Open whereby once again, the Cenian pair and the Electrumite pair met up in the grand final, only for the Electrumites to lose in four sets, with a last minute break by the Cenian team in the last set the dealbreaker. In the Denari Challenges, they had a disappointing loss to the former upstarts of Rarungan, Lanang Prabawa and Linda Astuti (who were excellent players in every sense of the word), placing them in the third place match, where once again they would win. After that tournament would be the second grand slam of the year, the Electrum Slam, where the girls were home favourites. Battling through constant Court 1 appearances and six gruelling matches in a row, the top two seeds, once again for the third time battled it out for the finals. It was an extremely close match, but the Electrumites won in three, to a jubilant crowd, and taking home the Alia Craft Memorial Trophy.

Cenial Masters were the next tournament in the ATP circuit and due to Gredello's injury in the singles qualification, the team barely limped through the first few rounds, always winning close straight sets. They would be downed by Garry/Quehall from Britonisea. Britoniseans have a knack for upsetting the top pairs, as Quehall was also in the pair which stunned the Xal sisters in the Hamilton International. This would be the tournament where they would lose their number one spot, after winning the Electrum Slam. The team however, would get their revenge in the next tournament, the Volatus Open where Garry/Quehall fell 6-2 6-3 in a show of class and dominance. This was revenge, and nothing could stop them as they continued to the finals, where once again they would have to go up against the Xal sisters. It was a close match, and with the last set played out to two game advantage, it was a gruelling victory for the pair, where they triumphed 8-10 in the last. Rosa collapsed in exhaustion straight after, finally exacting their revenge.

Over the Rushmori sea to Kytler Peninsulae where the pair would play in a non-ATP sanctioned tournament, the Olympics. In this tournament (which some call sexist), the genders are split, so that men would only play men, and women play women, quite unlike the style which is used in the ATP. But this didn't mean much, as once again, the Xal sisters and the pair from Electrum were still in the same bracket, and would inevitably face off. That was, until the Xal sisters were defeated in a shock loss, giving the initiative for the Electrumite pair to strive for victory. And they did. They came out victorious in the gold medal match, taking home Electrum's first gold medal in tennis to much acclaim of the sporting and Olympic community. Yet again, there would be another return to Ceni, as the ATP schedule was in constant flux, for the next edition of the Cenian Open. The pair would get automatic entry and once again, made their way to the final, where once again, they would face off against Ceni's Elia and Fia Xal. In an extremely tight match, where two breaks were the difference, the Electrumite pair prevailed, 6-4 6-4. They would once again, reclaim their spot on the top, disappointing the home crowd.

Their last tournament for the year before this one was the Hamilton International, known for it's hot weather, unpredictable prevailing winds and dust. This marked the shift in a new paradigm in ATP tennis, where for the first time, The Andromedans made their way to the final for both tournaments, with new pair Bryce Lord and Kelly Cicero (the latter debuting in this tournament) defeated Xal in three sets, almost like a fairytale victory. But it wasn't to last, as they went up against the number one team in the world, Sonya Gredello and Rosa Levinsky. There, their inexperience was crushed, losing in straight sets 6-3 6-1, and handing the pair their fourth straight title in a row.

The question is, will they be able to come back and take a fifth? Now they are forced to play against the world's best from the beginning, and they better bring it to the table. Wonderful tennis is going to be played in Britonisea, and we might just see a shift in the ATP rankings once more.

The Savoy Hotel
Telm City, Britonisea
December 27th
6:00 am

Yelena Kazakova and Louis Rich drove in from the airport yesterday morning. Since Andromedan tennis players re-emerged onto the international tennis scene last month, Kaz and Rich have been living out of their suitcases. They looked forward to spending Christmas back home when they were informed last week that they qualified for the World Tour Finals in Telm City.

Rich woke up to find that Kaz wasn’t asleep. She was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking out of the window, admiring the view of the Telm City skyline as the sun rises.

“What’s up?” Rich asks.

“Just thinking,” Kaz says.

Louis Rich is getting more used to Kazakova since they started playing doubles together. He still thinks she’s a strange bird, but he’s adjusted to her moodiness.

“A penny for your thoughts,” Rich said.

“I was just thinking about… when all of this is over.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean does any of this really mean anything?”

“There are a lot worse things we could be doing,” Rich says.

“We won’t be able to do this forever,” Kaz says. “What happens when the music stops?”

“The music isn’t going to stop,” Rich says. “Someone else will step in and sing.”

Rich often finds himself waxing philosophical around Kaz.

“You ever thought about what will happen when this whole tennis thing is over?”

Rich leans over and grabs Kaz’s hand.

“Yelena Kazakova, whatever happens, we will be together.”

Kaz turns away from the rising sun and turns toward Rich.

“Did I just hear you right? We’ll be together?”

Rich sits up. Kaz sits next to him.

“Well, once I call all of my other girlfriends and tell them that I’ve settled down, yeah!”

Kaz has grown accustomed to Rich’s sense of humor.

“But seriously, if you’ll have me, we can be together.”

“It’s been a bumpy ride so far,” Kaz says.

“And I haven’t got off yet. I want to see where this goes.”

ATP Top Tier Prepares for Tour Finals
Four Cenian players - Elaine Foyner, Ardil Navsal, Kika Dovan, and Botack Andiam - prepare for the singles tournament of the ATP World Tour Finals. Meanwhile, three Cenian pairs - Elia and Fia Xal, Perger and Ricpeer Rianor, and Coosal Darlcheri and Gyrachor Rentos - will feature in the doubles tournament of the first edition of the ATP World Tour Finals as the ATP, headquartered in Cenial, prepares to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

Elaine Foyner comes into the tournament ranked the number one seed after a somewhat rocky first half of the year. After losing in the first round in Kannap and in the second round of Antillia, Foyner consistently showed in the quarterfinals of Grand Slam tournaments but she never was rated a top prospect for a title, losing to more aggressive players before reaching any semifinals or finals. That changed at the first Denari Challenge, as she reached the semifinals and secured a number five place for the upcoming Electrum Slam. She won in a shock against Ardil Navsal before defeating Ricardo Toli and Al Montis de Surmar to win her first Grand Slam title. She then won the Cenial Masters on her home territory without losing a set. She repeated her good performance at the Cenian Open but failed to win the title, falling to Ardil Navsal 7-9 in the fifth set. However, she rebounded in Hamilton, taking her second Tier 1 title on the clay courts and securing her spot in Telm City.

Ardil Navsal, although coming into Telm City with a ranking of number 2, probably had the best season of all of Ceni's contenders, winning seven titles, holding on to the number one ranking for several months, and having an astounding 75-6 win-loss ratio and a 23-match winning streak. In fact, the players that Navsal has lost to this year can be counted on one hand - Al Montis de Surmar, Amancio Raimundo Belo, Elaine Foyner, and Ricardo Toli. He started out the year going strong, reaching the quarterfinals in Kannap and the finals in Antillia, losing to Al Montis de Surmar both times.

However, he rebounded and defeated Montis de Surmar twice in the Lzher-Jeckland Invitational, once in the second group stage and the second time in the final to secure his first title of the year. He then won the small BCA Challenge in Costa de Ouro, but faltered in the semifinals of the Kannap March Invitationals, losing to Al Montis de Surmar. On his home ground in the first Cenian Open of this year, Navsal lost in a shock exit to Belo of Costa de Ouro. He rebounded to win the Hamilton International, defeating Montis de Surmar 10-8 in the fifth, but fell in the quarterfinals of the Electrum Slam, losing to Foyner. This saw his ranking drop to an all-time low of no. 5 (behind Foyner, Montis de Surmar, Romao, and Toli), and his quarterfinal loss in the Cenial Masters to Toli didn't help. He entered in two Tier 2 events, the Volatus Open and the Santa Maria Open, and won the titles in both. Up next was the Cenian Open, and Navsal rebounded from his earlier quarterfinal loss to win the title, defeating Foyner. He failed to defend his title in Hamilton, losing to qualifier Britt Mack in the semifinals.

The other two Cenian qualifiers in singles, Kika Dovan and Botack Andiam, did not qualify by as large a margin as Foyner and Navsal did. Dovan's major achievements were quarterfinal showings at the Electrum Slam and the second Cenian Open. Besides those events, however, her results were somewhat less spectacular, only reaching one other quarterfinal. Botack Andiam qualified by the seat of his pants, only about thirty points ahead of fellow Cenian Ciache Nagya. Andiam, although reaching the semifinals of the first Cenian Open of the year, did not have too many other good results; he only reached two quarterfinals, and his best Grand Slam result using the new ATP system was a Round of 16 showing in the second Cenian Open.

Cenians have a good chance to win in the singles event, with the top two seeds as well as two other contenders. This strong representation in the finals is a testament to Cenian dominance of the top tiers of both singles and doubles tennis. Cenian players have won all but one title in the new ATP and have reached more semifinals and quarterfinals than players from any other nation. That may be changing, though, as a new breed of tennis players comes on the scene - players from The Andromeda Islands may be about to break in to the top tiers. That will be later, though, and at least for now, Cenian players are on top.

Another year has gone by and Britonisea is finally hosting a tournament. It has been a very successful and eventful year and we are going to talk about Ricardo Toli and how he raised to his glory since 2013's Britannual Britonisean Open. Here is July 2013- February 2014.

On August 1st, Ricardo Toli played the opening match of the Britannual Britonisean Open. He played Lance Mance and the first match of the event pulled a five setted match. Ricardo was apart of Bryonie Islands. Ricardo lost that match 4-6, 2-6, 6-2, 6-, 6-1. Then nearly two months later on 21st of September, Ricardo Toli played Kevin Lee where he lost 6-1, 3-6, 2-6. He was devastated that he didn't get in to the next round after being the first to be out in Britonisea in August. He didn't qualify for The November Championships which was held in Britonisea. As the new year started, the Second Kannapian Open didn't go well either because he was beaten by Chris Lewis from United Republic 6-1, 6-1 which was a major disappointment for him. Not doing well for the first few months, he wanted to make a change. On January 27, he played in the Antilla Masters where he was triumphant and he beat a man from Hicana 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. In the Second Round of the Antillia Masters, he was in his first four set match. Dan Van Persie won 6-2, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 which sent him through and he played a player from Patistan. In the Lzher-Jeckland Open, Ricardo Toli defeated Rosie Pembook 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. As he got through to the stages, Ricardo defeated Reihan Ahmadi quite easily with a score of 6-2, 6-1, 7-5. Still in the group stages, he beat Lacey Turner (Current 60 or something) 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. But before the end of the group stages, he got defeated by Colonel. However, he still got through to the next round. The second group stages was harsh as Ricardo was defeated by Brett Roley of Estope. After that he beat Lance Mance. Was this forewshadowing something? Ricardo then won his group and advanced to the knock out stages. This is the furthest he has ever gotten to. But it was too good to be true as Ricardo was beat by a 70+ year old called Bishop Lou Kelly from Estope. That was the start of the marvellous carer Ricardo has.

Cut off: Match Day one will be posted in one hour.

The World Tour Finals
Round Robin Day 1
Telm City, Britonisea
December 27th
6:00 pm

After their match, Yelena Kazakova and Louis Rich walk from Centre Court to their hotel. Neither one is in an especially good mood, but they do like the anonymity.

“It’s a learning experience,” Kaz says.

“What’s that? We lost.”

“Louis, this is the best of the best in the world,” Kaz reminds him. “We took them to 16 games in the final set. This will help us.”

“I know,” Rich says. “I was just thinking about when we were broken.”

“I am too. And did you see all of those people? We’d never see anything like that back home.”

The two are quiet. They admire the scenery of the evening in Telm City around the Tennis Complex and Olympic Stadium.

“It was overwhelming,” Rich says. “And through all that, we took ‘em.”

“And we got another one tomorrow,” Kaz says. “So, what do you want to do?”

Rich thinks for a few moments.

“For a while, I asked myself ‘What are we doing here?’”

“I’ve wondered that myself.”

“But then, during the first set, I realized that ‘We’re here.’”

“And we won the first set.”

“And, although we lost, we gave it our best.”

“That’s all we can do, Rich.”

They see the hotel, which is a block away. They cross the street and continue their conversation.

“So, this got you down, Rich?”

“No, I’m trying to learn from our mistakes, so I can become better.”

“It never ends. You know that?”

“No, the tournament is over this weekend.

“I mean the process. Getting better. We’ll never reach perfection and maintain it.”

“Yeah, but there are moments…”

“HEY, EVERYONE, THERE’S THE TWO PEOPLE ON THE TV!”

Rich looks up. They had just passed the entrance to a Bar and Grill. A television is blaring with sports coverage. A few people come from inside the bar.

“You’re Bossa Nova and Hitch. Hey, everyone. It’s Elena Bossa Nova and Louis Hitch.”

Kaz and Rich look at the two fans.

“You guys made the match of the day. It’s playing right now. Come on in. I’ll buy you a drink.”

“No alcohol,” Kaz says. “We got a match tomorrow.”

“We can stop in though,” Rich says. “How’s the food here?”

“Great. We got Rich and… Kazakova here. Come on in! You won’t regret it. We got the best Chicken and Chips in New Telm.”

Friendship

If you asked anyone in the tennis circles of Electrum, they would surely know the names of Electrum's finest pair, Rosa Levinsky (or Levinski, depending on whether or not you accept the ATP's paperwork after a misspelling), and Sonya Gredello. But only some have heard how time and again, the death knells (okay, perhaps not as serious as that) sound when they face up against the Britonisean pair of Elizabeth Quehall and Leo Garry. Rosa and Sonya have defeated countless numbers of Britoniseans before, leaving those young upstarts and journeymen in their wake, but for some reason, the battle with Quehall and Garry is much more tighter. They have almost a kinship, after seeing each other too many times to count.

The outcome of their matches are always a surprise. That's hardly surprising given the fact they know each other's play style like the back of their hand. For example, Rosa Levinsky prefers her left hand, and is more likely to exploit that fact with a sneaky down the line. Sonya Gredello is the more dominant player, and acts as a sort of 'leader', calling the shots, so not targeting her would get on her nerves. In any case, the two pairs have a storied history full of bittersweet moments. Bittersweet moments such as Gredello/Levinsky's loss to them in the Cenial Masters, after Sonya Gredello's crippling injury. The put down was punishing, but Gredello knew that that had to happen, shaking hands like she always does at the end of the match.

The other bittersweet in this relationship is at the Volatus Open, when the Electrumites exacted their revenge on the Britonisean. This time, the mood had eased. The pairs knew each other well by this time, and were in fact good friends. This was probably a symbol of the Britonisea-Electrum friendship which has bloomed over the years, which has seen cooperation in tennis, Worldvision and other events. In fact, after the match, Rosa Levinsky was seen in a training session with Elizabeth Quehall, being close friends after their constant battles on the court.

And that's not really surprising either. Tennis is to often a solitary sport, with players being surrounded by their support staff only. Rarely do these players play doubles exclusively, yet play it at all. But after the rise in popularity for doubles, that paradigm is shifting. No longer do players have to play singles to survive. No longer does tennis have to be a solitary sport. It becomes more than that in doubles, with pairs having strong connections to one another. And we hope that that spirit of friendship and kinship continues for the coming tournaments in the new year. We also hope that Electrum's pair come back from that surely crushing loss against the Britoniseans to advance out of the group, for it would surely be a travesty for a tennis tournament to not have the top seed reach the finals.

PREVIEW OF COMING ATTRACTIONS

Postby The Andromeda Islands » Wed Dec 31, 2014 3:25 pm

The Town Square
Paradise City, Blackhelm Confederacy
New Year’s Eve
11:55 pm

Above the Town Square, across from City Hall in the old section of Paradise City, is a clock tower that is alight with red and green lights. Local dignitaries stand on the steps of the City Hall, waiting to ring in the New Year. Every year, the City of Paradise City also rings in the New Year by hosting a tennis tournament that welcomes some of the world’s premier tennis players.

Among the many people in Paradise City is a small group from the Andromeda Islands. All of them are young and most of them come from relatively privileged backgrounds. It would be difficult to find these eight Andromedans in the crowd this evening.

The oldest member of this group, Chad Russell Knox, is from Todd’s Cove. Russell Knox’s father is former Andromedan President Mike Knox, who served as Ambassador to the World Assembly for most of the past eight years. Russ Knox enrolled at the University of Todd’s Cove two years ago, and turned professional once his doubles partner joined him in University. Russ Knox has successfully emerged from the long shadow of his father, who is one of the most successful politicians in the history of the Archipelago.

Knox’s partner, Guadeloupe Gomez, came from a different background. The valedictorian of her high school class, Lupe Gomez earned a scholarship to the University of Todd’s Cove eighteen months ago. She and Knox both played for the University Tennis Team before turning pro last fall. Gomez and Knox first met at University High School. Gomez and Knox have played together since Gomez’s freshman year of high school. Before Bryce Lord and Kelly Cicero got together, Gomez and Russ Knox were known as the first couple of Andromedan tennis.

The other doubles players at the Griffencrest Paradise City Open are both relatively privileged. Paul Raymond Thomas, Jr. and Hayley Van Pelt both attended High School within sight of the Assembly of the Allied States. Ray Thomas’ grandfather and cousin both served as Treasury Minister and were both contenders for the Andromedan Presidency. Hayley Van Pelt’s grandfather was former Andromedan President Jim Kalla. Thomas and Van Pelt, both students at the University of Andromeda, have played together since Van Pelt’s sophomore year of High School. Both also graduated from Assembly Plaza High School in the top 5% of their classes.

Among the singles players, Carmen Doyle is the highest ranked Andromedan here in Paradise City. Carmen Doyle’s aunt, Melvina Doyle, is married to Leonard Lawrence, the newly installed Vice President of the Allied States. Doyle’s mother is a native of the Teardrop Islands, the newest addition to the Allied States. Doyle failed to make the main draw in Hamilton and hopes to do better than she did in Hamilton last month.

Ranked #6 in Andromedan Tennis, Esperanza Cho has two cousins and an aunt who are also well known in Andromedan tennis circles. Her cousin, Maggie Cho, is currently #3 in singles. Her aunt, Alicia Cho, was one of the first Andromedan tennis players to compete internationally. Esperanza Cho seeks to improve on her previous performance in Ceni, where she withdrew after the qualifying stage for medical reasons.

The other two players, along with Ray Thomas and Hayley Van Pelt are competing in their first international competition as professionals. Kenyatta Jackson has played outside of the Allied States before as an amateur. Kay Jackson was born in World Assembly Territory and has spent most of her life outside of the Allied States. Her parents were career diplomats who currently teach at the International School. Jackson competed in tennis as a high school student in World Assembly Territory, which has perhaps the most competitive high school tennis tournaments in the NS Universe.

The final member of the Andromedan contingent in Paradise City is Erin Trent. A freshman at the University of Portsmouth, Trent, along with Kay Jackson and Britt Mack, earned her place on the international tour in St. Paul last November. For Trent, this isn’t just her first international competition. It’s also her first trip outside of the Allied States. A three sport star in high school, Trent chose to focus on tennis once she enrolled in University.

All eight of them stand among the rabble in the Paradise City Town Square as strangers in a strange land, waiting for the clock to strike midnight. This new, exciting chapter in their lives begins in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… .

Scene: Britonsea group stage match. We can see Nate Tomlinson in the upper deck of the stadium, looking a bit woozy. He has just come in from the Quidditch World Cup, where Walamzia was eliminated in the Round of 6. He sees a familiar face in the crowd and begins to speak to them.

NT: Hey! Glad you're feeling better, Greg.
Greg: Wish I could've been in Hamilton instead of that Waltrip bastard. Heard he lost all his matches. How was Quidditch?
NT: Exhausting. That game is so fast, I almost had a dizzy spell in that 4 hour match trying to keep track of everybody. Still feel woozy. Got to Britonsea by way of something called a Portkey. Had to puke in the bathroom on my way up to the seats. Y'know, I had to commentate the entire Round of 6 alone because my play-by-play man took over after that Potter guy died.
Greg: You sounded a lot better after the group stage though.
NT: Yep. Harry told me only to focus on that big red ball and that he' watch everything else. He could talk your ear off for hours talking about that sport and his playing days.
Greg: You mean that old man gingerly walking toward us?
NT: No, that's not him. He never wears our clothes. Anyways, Ashley hasn't returned my calls or texts this week. You been in touch?
Greg: Yep. Says you haven't texted him since you left for the Quidditch World Cup.
Harry Weasley indeed is that old man, and he joins the two of them now.
HW: That's because your Muggle technology doesn't work at Quidditch matches... unless we make it so. That's why you could talk through a normal (to you) headset but you couldn't check your phone.
NT: Ah, Mr. Weasley. Welcome to--
HW: The ATP World Tour Finals, I know. Boring game, tennis. I could never get used to watching two men groan about chasing after a tiny ball. They just hit it back and forth at one another with no other distraction. How'd you enjoy your time, Nate?
NT: Uhhh... it was... good. Yes, it was good.
HW: You don't feel well. You alright?
NT: Just a little woozy from the Portkey.
HW: Know the feeling well. You should be at home resting instead of all the way out here.
NT:P I want to watch the best tennis in the world.
HW: You should be home. Now, you come with me.
The two of them leave. Harry Apparates nate to his home back in Walamzia.
HW: Your house, isn't it?
NT: Yes, sir.
HW: Open the door.
Nate opens the door and goes in. He goes into his bedroom and begins to sleep.
A couple hours pass, and Harry is back at the door.
HW: Open the door!
Nate wakes up slowly and gingerly opens it. He is shocked.
NT: Not right now. I'm tired. I just got home from the Quidditch World Cup commentary booth.
The other young man enters and slams the door in Harry's face.
Ashley Tyler: That old fart had to tell me what happened. I was so scared that you had died. Don't accept those invites again without telling me. I thought you had fallen off the face of the planet.
NT: How did you-- find the house on your own?
AT: I didn't. I was at the World Tour finals, and this sensation came over me to come out to the concourse. I did, and this old man told me to grab his arm. I did, and I showed up here.
NT: I need to sleep for a bit more.
AT: Yep. Now that you mention it, I need some rest too. Wanna go out on your court out back?
NT: Maybe later tonight after our naps.

Later that evening:

Nate Tomlinson wakes up from his little nap. He's startled to see Ashley Tyler next to him, but he feels oddly comforted. He gets his tennis gear on and tries to wake Ashley up.
NT: Ash, get up!
AT: I'll be up in a minute. I feel like I'm just getting over a hangover. I know I didn't drink today. Oh, some girl told me to follow her into some seedy motel room while I was out a week ago.
NT: Well... did you?
AT: Yep.
NT: How was it?
AT: All I could think about was how good she made me feel.
NT: You have no idea... how proud I am! Come here!
Nate and Ashley hug for what seems like an eternity when they hear a knock on the door.
Girl: You open this door right now! We need to talk.
AT: Yes?
Girl: *slaps him* You said you'd call me back in the morning. Well, I got some news for ya: I'm done waiting. We're done!
AT: We were... never a thing.
Girl: Oh, please! Stay with that freeloader all you want. *slams door in his face and leaves*
NT: You just learned your first lesson on women: if you promise something, you have to keep it.
Fred Smithers rings the doorbell and, after no response from inside, lets himself in.*
FS: What's this I hear about little Ash losing his v-card?
NT: Who told you you could come in?
FS: No one. I just wanted to congratulate him on finally being a man.
NT: Well, since you're here, I got a new machine out back you can use to hit some balls for a while. Ash, wanna play on my court?
AT: Sure.
FS: I don't roll like that.
NT: Tennis balls, Freddy, tennis balls.

Tennis Bites

Sonya Gredello and Rosa Levinsky once again defeat the Xal sisters

It's almost been like a voodoo really, these two powerhouse girls pairs always manage to sizzle up great matches whenever they play each other. But as the year went on, it became increasingly clear of the Electrumites dominance over the girls from Ceni. This victory in the World Tour Final means that they are a step closer to taking the ultimate title of this prestigious tournament with their fourth straight victory over the Cenite pair. It seems like the only thing stopping this pair from ultimate victory are the Britonish.

It has been a close group stage, and after a disappointing -yet close- match to Leo Garry and Elizabeth Quehall (All three sets were decided by a singular set, and ended 6-4), the Electrumite pair picked themselves back up by defeating greenhorns of The Andromeda Islands 6-2 6-1. It was an ultimate display of class and skill, as Rosa's quick hands complemented Sonya's love for getting up to the net and hitting those ridiculous shots. As if to rub it in, Sonya had a fantastic shot deep into the second set whereby a ball off Kazakova's hand was going to go way above and out of the court when Sonya decided to play it anyways. She jumped in the air and smashed it down, even though she didn't need to, with an almighty scream the ball touched the line on the other side before bouncing into the audience. That shocked everyone.

In the final group day, it was do or die. Simply put, the two teams vying for the last spot (after the Britonisean pair won two matches so far) were going to be going against each other for the last one. It was the strangely named Coosal Dalcheri and Gyrachor Rentos, the winner of which would find their way for a ticket into the semifinals. And play they did. Although the Electrumite pair were still unfamiliar with the Cenite's style of play (as they didn't meet them as often as say, the pairs from Britonisea who have a similar strategy, or the Xal sisters), they were able to triumph yet again 7-5 6-4. A break in each set was the difference once again. It seems that at the top level, it's not just the winners that gets the teams over the line, but also, whether or not they conceded lots of unforced errors. The girls are on fire, and conceding only 15 unforced errors, a surely low result.

Into the semifinals, and after a New Year's break, which featured impressive fireworks that teams had never seen before in Britonisea, the runners up of this group, the Electrumite pair (after their surprise loss) would have to face the winner of the other group... which was once again, the Xal sisters. This time however, they weren't playing for the Championship, instead, it was a battle to get to the final. After the Cenians cruised to a 3-0 lead in the first set, Rosa switched to first gear, and her serves started getting more and more brutal. It seemed that her aces just saved the day at the crucial break, and slowly the Electrumites would recover with patience to take the first set 6-4. With momentum on their side, they pushed in the second set to win it 6-2. It was the only way to win.

With that, they go on to the Championship to face Leo Garry and Elizabeth Quehall. Will they lose to them again? Find out tomorrow in Britonisea...
