We are a Carloso based international public service broadcaster head-quartered in New Carlingford, Carloso. We are the country's oldest and largest national broadcasting organisation. Our work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee which is charged to all Carlossian households, companies and organisations using any type of equipment to receive live television broadcasts. The level of the fee is set by the Carlossian Government, agreed by Parliament and used to fund the CBC's extensive Radio, TV and Online services covering the nations and regions of the republic. From 1 September 2014 it also funds the CBC World Service which provides comprehensive TV, Radio and Online services in Spanish and Bratislavian and broadcasts in 8 languages overall. Around a quarter of CBC revenues come from its commercial arm CBC Worldwide Ltd. which sells CBC programmes and services internationally and also distributes the CBC's international 24 hour English language news services BBC World News and CBC.cfr, provided by CBC Global News Ltd. We seek to expand our operations across the world and to have an office in as many capitals as possible to ensure a fast, steady, unbiased stream of updates from events across the globe. Carlossian Broadcasting CorporationCBC AdministrationThe CBC is a statutory corporation. Under its original governance arrangements (under the Broadcasting Authority Act 1927) its board was known as the CBC Authority. The members of the CBC Authority were appointed by the Cabinet upon the recommendation of the Minister for Communications. The CBC Authority was both the legal owner of CBC and was also its regulator. Under the Broadcasting Act 1998, the CBC's governance arrangements have changed. The statutory corporation form has been retained, however the new Act no longer refers to the board of CBC as an "Authority" and it is now simply known as the Board. Of the new 18 member Board replacing the CBC Authority: the Minister will appoint 9 members, the Committee on Communications will decide on 4 names to present to the Minister for appointment, 1 member will be elected by the staff of the CBC and the Managing Director will sit on the Board in an ex-officio capacity. The current CBC Authority members have been reappointed to the new Board in the interim. The provisions of the Act relating to the Carlossian Broadcasting Authority were commenced on 7 April 1999, the CBC will be externally regulated by the Carlossian Broadcasting AuthorityCBC HeadquartersCBC Tower
in New Carlingford, CarlosoCBC Tower on Admiral Street, New Carlingford, is the official headquarters of the CBC. It is also the home of CBC News. Until 1997, the CBC was based at the CBC Media Centre, a purpose built television facility constructed during the 1960's. The Media Centre still serves as the corporations second largest facility. The CBC Tower houses almost all of the CBC's national radio networks, CBC Radio One, CBC Radio One+, CBC Two, CBC Radio Three, CBC Radio Four, and CBC Radio Four+ as well as CBC New Carlingford, taking advantage of the height of the stricture. Designed by Carlossian visionary architect Michael Looby, the building is considered one of the finest examples of modern Carlossian architecture that exists, topping out at just under 340 m making it the seventh tallest structure in Carloso. As well as being the broadcaster for radio stations, the tower also houses several dozen studios. It can be easily reached via New Carlingford Bus, Metro and is only a 20 minute drive for New Carlingford International Airport.
