True, that's why there's observatories, too, isn't there? . But the Hubble still remains superior in ways that I don't exactly know, but obviously they wouldn't have wasted billions of dollars if it was obsolete.

The only interesting thing about the hubble is that it can simply see more bands of light than most telescopes, which translates to it being able to take pictures of much larger/older areas than your average dish telescope on the ground.

For something as basic and rudimentary as determining how close a star is, a ground observatory would be more than satisfactory.

Photographed in a fleeting form in the late 1500's AE, it is said to be nearly ten meters long, three meters wide, and looks like a large shark with an alligator head and mantis fins. It also has three glowing red "eyes" along either side of it's spine and multiple bony protrusions covering its back. Many claim it is peaceful, but the large carcasses of deep-water squid living in the same lake make many others think otherwise.
