Well, to be clear, this isn't about "what one user displays on their region." Rhina has destroyed and purged Aura Hyperia, and now it flies a TBR flag. It's not like this was some puppet dump; there are people who called it home and trusted their Founder not to just purge it and, by the way, take their forum offline as well. If the forum stays offline, that's forum destruction.

Oh please, "their forum" was hardly ever used, and belongs to me in any case. Even if I hadn't taken it offline, it's not like they'd want me lingering around as the root admin.

Perhaps you could hand off the root admin account to another honourable gentleman who could be trusted to manage the regional forum in your absence?

It should be important to The Black Riders. If you harbor a forum destroyer, you will be shunned and your region will be completely isolated to the point of obscurity -- including by those you currently think are your allies. They'll turn their backs overnight, and rightfully so. Clock's ticking.

Your hate of TBR is blinding you. Read below;

2012 Forum Destruction Conference:

(3) The destruction of any material on any forum connected to NationStates unless:
(i) that destruction is carried out by the account used to create the forum AND by the person who created that account

Read the second line, carefully. The owner of a forum shutting it down is not "forum destruction".

You can stop with the theatrics now, Cormac. :p

The convention is older, it was just reposted in 2012. Doesnt really matter though.

It's an agreed-upon definition of forum destruction, with many signatories, and posted on a notorious defender organization's forums..

.. And it absolves Rhina of Cormac's accusations... Though I doubt he'll give up on this so easily. Expect another post arguing why the material we provided doesn't matter/is irrelevant.

What a shame. I enjoyed interacting with Mara and Aura Hyperia during the Regional Sovereignty Conference, and I thought the region itself had character and charm. It's regretful that this is how the region is ending, but I wish everyone from there well in their new chosen paths.

I don't know how active the forum was or how many people were on it, so my opinion doesn't mean too much. I would say though that in any case I don't see a time when deleting a forum is ever really needed. Yes, the forum technically belongs to the root admin, but once a community is built within the forum, it sort of takes a life of its own. If a community used the forum, it means something to them no matter how active or inactive they were. At the very least, it's an archive of the past.

I'm not here to argue whether it was forum destruction or not, but I do think that deleting a forum isn't really necessarily and removes record of what was. I guess I'm just sentimental :P

Taking it down to tweak a few things without anyone bugging you is not nuking a forum.

If he owns the forum, I'm pretty sure it's not the same if someone fraudulently gains access to the forum to destroy it. But I suppose one might argue that a forum is community property, not the root admin's. Carry on...

It's Rhina's forum if he killed it he killed it. However the actives who built Hyperia with Rhina were completely caught unaware and summarily defenstrated from Aura Hyperia without any advance notice, well that is lacking in decorum and a dignified way to end a region.

Its totally Rhina's prerogative to shut down his region and join another but to put the rest of the region out to pasture on his own whim is irresponsible.

This is rather unfortunate particularly because Balder considers Auro Hyperia an ally. It does demonstrate the need for regions to choose successors carefully.

I'm just curious what led you to choose to join TBR and to discontinue your region. I may be a bit touchy with the subject, but when Ainur's founder decided Ainur was to end, we fought back and he decided to let us continue on our own. Regions don't have to die with the founder/leader, when the works of many people over years goes into a region, it's less of the leader's and more of a real community-owned thing.

Not to put down your actions, but Aura Hyperia could have continued without you, and without however many people that were banjected showing discontent.

May you never own or lead another region again. At least not one in which the nations residing within trust the founder to not destroy the region.

Ah, I see you've restored the forum after pressure was applied to the region you're actually loyal to, The Black Riders. Good.
