That's also another problem - their range is really bad because rocket engines. And yeah, they have the speed advantage, but my impression was that they fly too quickly to outmaneuver most aircraft.

History: Although the war ended rather favorably for the Empire, no significant losses of territory to be had, except for the sting of losing Gibraltar, Malta, and the eastern half of the Suez, and the British Navy remained the most powerful in the world, which allowed it to maintain its significant hold on trade. The most profound effect of the war was the sense of betrayal felt in regards to the United States. While the two nations had obviously had their differences in the past, it had been thought the English speaking peoples would prefer each other over the Germans, and many politicians and citizens still view their cousins with a bite of anger.
In 1920 there was a surge of violence in Ireland, Irish paramilitary groups undertaking a campaign of bombings and murder against British officials, Protestant civilians, and anyone they considered to be helping Britain, or not fully supporting the cause. The British government stumbled a bit in response but after a string of bombings that killed dozens of civilians, the British Army was sent into Ireland in force. Nearly twenty thousand troops from the British Army, a good number of them veterans from the Great War, were stationed in Ireland from 1921-1925, during which a rather violent battle was fought against the Republican Volunteers, the primary Irish paramilitary group. People on both sides were murdered, abducted, beaten, and various other assaults. In 1923 a pub was bombed, killing nearly 30 British soldiers and officers, as well as wounding dozens more soldiers and civilians. A shoot on sight policy was adopted after this event, with anyone suspected of being in the Republican Volunteers mostly being shot. This and other heavy handed tactics slowly wore down the Republican Volunteers, but early 1925 saw what many consider the death blow of the group, when two companies from the British Army attacked a small hamlet where the group’s leaders were meeting. The battle lasted for half the day, as a large number of armed Volunteers were present, but before sundown the town had been secured and the leaders had been killed. Days later the Republican Volunteers asked for a cease fire. The period of occupation and violence came to an end as the British government agreed to pardon all surviving Volunteers members, so long as the peace was maintained. British Army troops were withdrawn by November of 1925.
Elsewhere in the Empire, the government designated a large amount of money to the building and modernizing of fortifications, especially in Egypt and other African colonies, as well as Cyprus which has become a formidable island fortress and naval base, home of the Mediterranean Fleet. Supply stockpiles have been improved upon, as well as a large monetary reserve being in place, the Great War having taught its lessons. The alliance with Japan was strengthened, the government and military not wanting to potentially have to compete with Japan in the Pacific, as well as wanting to be on friendly terms with a power that could rival the US in the Pacific.
In 1935 Winston Churchill was elected on a platform of continued, steady build ups across the board. He is likely to win the 1940 election as well.

The primary armament of the Army of Bulgaria is a subject for debate. The majority of the Bulgarian soldiers use Mannlicher M1895, a relic of the Great War, with little upgrades except for general performance improvements. However, the Bulgarian High Command has tried to remedy this problem. Some soldiers are equipped with Model 1920 General Rifles, a carbine version of Mosin-Nagants brought home by Great War veterans. Some units have ordered Kar98ks from the German allies. However, with increasing developments in semi-automatic weaponry by the Russians and Americans, Bulgaria is currently seeking funding from Austria and Germany in order to develop a joint semi-automatic battle rifle. Recruits are given two weeks of basic training and are separated into desired roles for another two weeks of training (i.e. a medic receiving combat medicine classes). Officers are given a 4-month training course in leadership, decision making, and tactics, though college graduates can typically circumvent this cycle. Clothing is average, receiving a lot of tunics, pants, and boots from Germany, with helmets provided by Bulgaria's arms industry. Machine guns are German imports, such as the MG34, as are other support weapons. The main battle tank is the BK-35n, though limited in number.

Recruits are given two weeks of physical training and one week of infantry weapon training. They then are assigned to a role and given a month of training. After the month of training, some recruits pay to enroll in officer development classes, but most are given a ship assignment. Primarily, the main ports are Varna, Kavarna, and Kavala. Most of the ships are old German warships. As such, they are limited in capacity compared to other more modern fleets. However, the Bulgarians need not carry such a large navy, as they have little need for such a developed navy, unlike the transcontinental empires farther west.

The Bulgarian Air Force primarily utilizes a fighter-heavy program, using 150 BS-33 Combat Fighters. The BS-33s serve a primary role in the defense of Bulgarian airspace and the assertion of aerial superiority over any opponents. Along with the 33, the Bulgarian Air Force fields 40 SB-31 Medium Bombers, to be used for bombing. Pilot candidates have very narrow weight and height requirements. They attend basic physical training for two weeks, advanced physical training for three weeks, and fly 70 hours in a training plane. With such strict requirements, few candidates actually make it into the air force. As such, the air force is undersized and many pilots are given administrative tasks or serve the navy as exercise observers. Equipment is getting old and repairs more frequent.

History: Following the end of the costly Great War and the annexation of many lands lost in the Second Balkan War, Bulgaria experienced a boom of nationalism. They had proven, rather decisively, their dominance in the Lower Balkans. Tsar Ferdinand rose on a massive wave of popularity, and the nation experienced a population boom in the return of nearly one fifth of the male population. After the war concluded, the industrial capacity of the nation grew. The Tsar and his Interior advisers saw that, in reality, Sofia was THE city in Bulgaria. To stimulate new industrial initiatives, the Tsar subsidized the port city of Varna and the city of Plovdiv. With this financial plan, the two cities grew considerably over the next two decades. When the Black Sea Fleet Headquarters were relocated to Varna, the city drew quite a considerable population of sea-hardy adventurers and shipyard investors. By 1921, the Bulgarian Armed Forces had grown quite considerably from purchases from the Germans, Austrians, and other allies. However, the maintenance of these acquisitions became too much for the economy. As a result, many of the older Bulgarian warships were scuttled and scrapped and sold for quite a lot of money. The economy, however, still remained fairly stagnant, as the production of new weapons and aircraft, as well as moderate inflation to pay off internal debts, produced an unsound economy.
In 1923, Greeks in Alexandroupolis started the June Riots. Shops were smashed and all activity in the city was basically halted. In July, the Bulgarian government entered into negotiations with Greek riot leaders. Greeks wanted considerable concessions, including autonomous states and the guarantee of free trade with Greece. However, the Bulgarian Army surrounded the city and threatened siege. The Bulgarian government offered to announce Greek as a recognized language, issuing all government documents in Greek and permitting Greek classes in schools in the newly acquired lands. The rioters consented and the riots largely ended in early July.
In 1925, economic activity caught up with the industrial growth of the later 1910's and the economy was now booming. Ferdinand had begun construction on railroads in the new lands and had opened new mines in the mountains. However, he was now getting old. On his 70th birthday, he announced in a speech in Skopje, he would abdicate the throne in favor of his son, Prince Boris. And surely enough, on February 26, 1931, the 70-year-old Tsar Ferdinand abdicated the throne and, one week later, Tsar Boris III was coronated and presented to the world.
Once Boris ascended, he quickly built up the struggling, outdated air force with some purchases from Germany and Austria. The military had grown to a formidable peacetime size, though much of the equipment was outdated. Boris saw Prime Minister Kimon Georgiev block repeated attempts at increasing government dealing in private businesses and the arms industry. Boris thought back to Ferdinand's years, when the Tsar had uncontested control of the nation and no opposition from Parliament. In order to restore his power, Boris launched the covert Night Coup on September 22, 1934, when the Parliamentary offices were stormed by soldiers and Minister Georgiev was forced to resign. Boris replaced Georgiev with Georgi Kyoseivanov, who essentially allowed the Tsar near unlimited power and worked only as an adviser.
As of 1938, the Tsar has no grand plans other than the possible reclaiming of Albanian Macedonia and the further modernization of the nation and the army.

That can be rectified. The Saxon Monarchs were related to the last Polish King, so they have a claim. I'd assume they'd get it. Also, it's not the French General's line that the bloke who I have as HoS, it's the primogeniture male line.

While that particular line of reasoning is silly, I do believe it's likely that any Polish vassal state laying claim to the entirety of what used to be the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth would find that its government would be abdicated very swiftly indeed.
