It's an Abrams, you are basically getting the best tank in the world as your starter in all honesty. That thing can go through any environment and fight nearly any fight with the correct switch outs. Hate to sound cocky, but the Abrams is part of the reason we won Desert Storm and are doing so well in Iraq. What else could you ask for in modern armor?

If those are your problems with it then you just need to send in infantry and call the situation good anyway. It is called ARMOR for a reason, armor is meant to protect your rear not run with it and that bulkiness is armor. US Army uses the Abrams pretty well, they sure take out a bucket of enemy armor. But sure, if you want the T series I will fix that up tomorrow, just be smart. Once a character dies they will be dead and I would rather you all go into this fight armed to win versus being armed to lose.

But pilot for hire? I worked with everyone. Probably like Kirito in that respect (disregarding his solo status), he seemed to know everyone. And the group raid things I assume involved some chopper gunning.

During the Beta Robert would have filled the tactical role that Special Forces do, so they might have met then, he would be known to Paratroop, Amphibiously Assault, etc. Though he frowns on Mercenaries highly. But, he would have been likely to mark targets and leave them for any available pilots to firebomb on their runs.
