Afterwards, he went to engineering school and studied in Construction Management, Engineering, and Aeronautical science. He then worked for the government office of aeronautical construction. There, he worked on building large projects such as missile silos, space launch centers, scientific research labs, airfields, and large launch pads. He also did some civilian work, such as factory construction and management. When Alorianistan was invaded the second time, he fled back to his native island, where he continued to work for the government. After Zorga became independent, he became a professor at the Zorga Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Development. He was awarded with Hero of Socialist Work for his contributions to the Zorgan and Aloristani societies.

Of these, I was hoping to RP their development in the Committee for the Development of Space Applications for Atomic Energy (CDSAAE).
SAC, having significant experience with atomic weaponry, will gladly help in the design of an ORION type engine.

You could make extra fuel when you get there? Won't be as efficient and will probably add to the price tag but could reduce take off mass sufficiently so that you don't need the real top-end ISP. Can't back this up with data course, but meh

Atomic Utopia wrote:It really is that this top end ISP reduces fuel requirements, thus making it better with isu(plus, with the NTR, you can use liquid water) than low ISP engines. Also you are probably going to need a reactor anyway, might as well be your engine. The Orion and NSWR are only good for heavy payloads (orion), or are high tech(NSWR), so unless the mission requires a huge payload(orion), or you are willing to use an engine that can (and will) overheat quite violently if a fuel leak occurs or the engines magnetic confinement of the exhaust is not perfect(NSWR).

We strongly support the idea of creating a fuel source for spacecraft, solar is good for research uses but is too easily damaged by space debris and, for large projects, it simply doesn't provide a large enough amount of energy to be viable. A nuclear based fuel seems the best idea but we think nuclear reactors may be a bit much. Hyfling's space agency has been having electricity and heat generated from the radioactive decay of isotopes. These small generators are tough, lightweight, powerful and a heck of a lot smaller than your average fission reactor. Not to mention, they run on spent nuclear fuel.
What do you think?

Yeah nuclear source will be good, but it has a lot of risks. We have to put is somewhere that it cant make a nuclear catastrophe. We should make it in some place that is not near town or city. Solar panels are good. NSA and FSA last satelite is fueling with solar panels but we are making new satellte which will fueling by fuel cells.

Yes, fuel cells are good, and probably a lot safer than nuclear power in the event of a crash or catastrophic failure (which would likely rain fallout on the planet below), but they also require a source of chemical fuel. This must be restocked often, the biggest advantage of nuclear is it rarely requires refueling. For example, the RTS I linked to has a life of over 80 years, perfect for long term space travel, and in the case of catastrophe, it's too far away from anyone to do any damage).
Perhaps we should adopt fuel cells and solar panels for short term flights and space stations, and RTS's for longer term flights and missions that require a large amount of energy?

The Recon Empire wrote:Official letter to the Office of the ISA:
Greetings! On behalf of ARISE and the Recon Empire's contributions to the ISA, we would like to propose a project dubbed 'Project Foreigner'. As a single nation's efforts are unable to sustain this project, we hope that by proposing it to the agency and the combined funding, we can push for such success.
All of the current space stations in the nations that have participated belong in the same galaxy, though some out of our planetary system. We hope to extend our scope of exploration to outside of our galaxy, out of the Milky Way Galaxy. We would like to build a space station that is out of our galaxy, in the void between the galaxies. This macro-space station is used for support for all other spacecraft in the area. With such support, spacecrafts can reach further than our current technologies. This project is estimated at a cost of $100 billion for construction and deployment, with 5 billion yearly for maintenance after. The overwhelming costs can only be projected to an international agency of such influence, hence we hope this proposal can be made in effect.
The Recon Empire is willing to donate an additional $2 billion for this project, and we are happy to send our personnels and experts to maintain this space station. We hope to open the naming of this space station to all members of the agency.
Lastly, to clarify, the currency rate of our nation is R$1=USD$1.50, hence, our total budget is approximately $21 billion with our donations to the agency at approximately $1.4 billion. The amount is different due to the taxes from the Ministry of Science and Technology as well as the Office of Diplomatic Corps.
Thank you and we sincerely hope to hear from the agency.
