I created the Empire of Russia once, and the Rurikids split into three main branches, disregarding the smaller, lesser branches of the Grand Princes, the line of the Tsars, the Byzantine Tsars/Basilieuses, and the descendants of the second son of the first Tsar made up the third. About two hundred years later, the line of the Tsar and the line of the second son had become pretty large, and I married the some generation descendant grand daughter of the first Tsar to his some generation grand son. Both happen to have no siblings, and I united the house, excluding the Greek Rurikids. Unfortunately, first three children of that union were inbred, and I almost lost the game.
I once played a game as incestious Romans venetians which was fun as it sounds and I ended up reforming the Roman Empire, making iconoclast the orthodoxy and managed to get the Golden Horde in one on one combat. That was a good game.
Mongol hordes are always fun. I got hit with the golden horde and the Ilkhanate. I had only counted on one showing up, and I had a few armies in the region where they spawn, and got smashed by them both.
