That's any Gundam series. Especially 00. Fullmetal Alchemist is the one about brothers, and alchemy, and brothers that use alchemy, and brothers whose bodies are partially or fully compromised by alchemy.

The joke sailed so far over your head it went into orbit.

Besides, I was talking about Evangelion.

Come on Esc, even I caught that, and I'm fairly sure everyone can tell by now that I'm not that much into popular animes. :P

Hey now, I got the joke and was intentionally sidetracking. Come on, even I know Evangelion.

Anime seems...creative.

Considering it's an art style and not a genre (like a fair number of people think), duh.

Really, that seems like all mecha series. Those machines must be fuelled by shattered innocence and mental scarring.

Not all mecha series.

The first Macross for instance. Or TTGL.

Or Megas XLR which totally counts, even if it isn't an anime.

Megas XLR was fuelled by stupid awesomeness. TTYL might have been fuelled by fanservice, just because of the hot redhead chick.

TTGL, like many things Gainax made after NGE, was fueled by gratuitous amounts of cocaine. Also Spiral Energy.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt was mostly fanservice with cocaine, Kill la Kill was fanservice, cocaine and Spiral Energy, and FLCL was just cocaine.

Name: Markus Salvador
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance:
Image

Likes/Dislikes:
Through his wanderings, Markus has developed a fondness for tinkering with all sort of old and new technology. He prefers to live life with a calm and sometimes laid back attitude, but secretly enjoys the occasional scuffle or challenge. Throughout most of his life, he tried to avoid annoying and loud objects or people as much as he can, particularly children and most pets.
Abilities:
Markus has some knowledge in fields like mechanics and is almost as adept at jury-rigging as the A-team due to his life on the streets. He's got his wits about him, with a fair amount of street smarts and people skills to help him get what he needs, with the occasional sleigh of hand to speed the process along. Though relatively confident with a gun, Markus prefers hand-to-hand combat, where he excels with his own variant of fighting, vaguely reminiscent of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. He's rather good at sneaking up on his marks, a useful skill he picked up during his days as bounty hunter. Due to his tough upbringing, he can also take more punishment than most.
He knows how to drive and pilot small spacecraft, but his driving and flying is often reckless. That's not to say it doesn't pay off, but he has zero to no experience with large crafts and will inflict moderate to several damage (on both the vehicle itself and any passengers) if allowed to pilot a reasonably-sized vehicle.
Inabilities:
Though he has some mechanical knowledge, it can hardly be considered substantial enough to trust him with complex machinery. Personality-wise, he can sometimes be a bit too laid-back (up to the point where it may be perceived as rude or inconsiderate) and can be stubborn to a fault.
Also, he's a smoker.
Bio:
Far removed from Devil's Sunset lies the cradle that gave birth to Markus Salvador: Megalopolis, a gargantuan metropolitan city spread across a large portion of the planet's surface like a metal blanket.

One of the less reputable districts of this city was the place Markus called "home". Living most of his childhood as a street urchin, Markus had to adapt and thrive in a world where only the strong prevailed. In the lower districts, the only way out was either in a coffin or by climbing the ranks of a gang, and Markus surprisingly opted for neither.

Instead, young Salvador worked all kinds of small job to scrape by and, with the sweat of his own brow, managed to build up a simple life in Megalopolis at the age of sixteen. The conditions he lived in where spartan at best, but the young lad hadn't know any better, so to him it was just a part of ordinary life. Still, Markus dreamed of greener pastures and turned to other means to earn a living: Gambling.

Many people in the lower districts gambled, as a means to forget the drag of daily life and to maintain that small spark of hope for better things to come. Markus wasn't like most gamblers. He was a realistic person, and perhaps a bit more lucky than most as well, though luck wasn't the only thing that had a hand in all of his great hands. Having picked plenty of pickets as a young street urchin, Markus now applied his sleigh of hand to games of chance.

Predictably, this wasn't the makings of a success story.

Bruised and beaten, Markus cursed the cradle that had nurtured him thus far and sought a whole new profession entirely. With only his wits and street smarts under his belt, Markus had little options spread out before him, and ultimately became a bounty hunter. In a galaxy as big as this, the law was unable to cover every square inch of space. That's where bounty hunters came in. He wasn't the best at his job, but he certainly wasn't the worst either, relying on more than just brute force to get a fugitive to co-operate.

It was a part of Markus' life that was fraught with strong stories, romance and drama; by comparison, definitely the best time of his life. But life makes a habit of kicking a man down when he feels at his finest.

Markus arrived on the planet of Calico expecting to live out the last of his days in a run-down hellhole, though he was fortunate enough to find a physician that was willing to fix him up for a fair price, a physician that happened to have a tie or two with the Redwing Band.

It only took Markus a single glance at his broken down ship to decide to ditch his life as a bounty hunter and go down a new avenue, alongside Harlan Redwing.

Lots of pilots for a place that doesn't seem like it has many operable spaceships anywhere.

Maybe there's a convention somewhere.

Yeah.

If anything, we could probably do with some more planetside pilots/drivers.
