Postby The Gujiyan Isles » Thu Jul 17, 2014 12:06 am

Due to bad weather and extra precautions taken to prevent native fisherman from spotting the fleet as it approached, the Avinaan navy detachment sent to the Gujiyan Isles arrives after a week, in two groups. The first group consists of one cruiser, two destroyers, a transport, and mostly paramilitary forces, sent to support the military police in Bhai to quell the uprisings. The second group consists of the remaining ships, and is sent to Chotho, to patrol the southern islands, specifically Fodina City, and protect Avinaan interests in the region.
The night after the fleet’s arrival is eventful. In a shocking show of force the paramilitary forces storm the streets and take batons and hoses to the protestors clogging the narrow streets of Bhai city. Tractors and trucks ram apart barricades, and several civilians are injured in these operations. When bricks, rocks, and furniture are thrown from second and third floor windows onto the advancing lines of troops, doors are knocked in as part of a massive effort to eliminate the rebels labeled a threat to peace and humanity. Hundreds of casualties are reported by the police commanders as crowds of civilians throw themselves against the encroaching Avinaan forces. The city wide “sweep” leaves a wake of shattered storefronts, burning cars, blown out windows, and trampled bodies.

The Center for Telecommunications and the adjacent hotel, still under the control of the GNC terrorists, is stormed at 4 AM, and the resulting in an intense firefight that leaves the hotel engulfed in flames. The small contingent of Avinaan marines brought to Bhai city take the hotel an hour after the raid begins, and report that two of the thirty reported terrorists have been killed. Complicating the entire operation, civilians breach the cordoned off police zone and a crowd of 200, some armed with pistols and bolt-action rifles attack the police, yelling that they want to aid the terrorists in their escape. The marines are recalled from the building immediately, and with the police, open fire upon the crowd. The attack left five police dead and fifteen injured; two marines were injured. Civilian casualties neared 50, with roughly 70 injured. The terrorists did try to take advantage of the momentary distraction the crowd had presented. As they attempted to shoot their way out, the marines were recalled from the street, resulting in a shootout that ultimately killed all thirty terrorists, three marines, and fifteen of the roughly forty hostages, one of them the Director of Propaganda.

Meanwhile that same night, the other fleet approached the naval base at Chotho. After they received no radio confirmation of their approach, the fleet was suspicious. After getting within 2 miles of shore, they heard no gunfire, and it seemed that the battle had completely died down. Smaller landing craft were called in, and their initial report was that the base had been overrun and abandoned. The fleet quickly moved in to recover any weapons and equipment left. From an extensive investigation taking place over the following two days it was determined that after about three days of fighting, the small base was running out of small arms ammunition and medical supplies.. With other naval yards on lockdown, and the men unable to escape due a blockade of militants in fishing boats and captured police craft, the men were unable to escape. Aware that the base was on the verge of being overrun, and uncertain if assistance would arrive on time, the base commander ordered the scuttling of a destroyer in drydock. As engineers were lining a second destroyer with explosives, the base was overrun by the militants, who were receiving reinforcements from nearby Thoroche Island by the hundreds. Fighters from nearby islands returned after the battle was over, shortly followed by those originating from Chotho and their families, as they knew Avinaan retribution would be swift. The captured men at the base, numbering roughly 100, were ordered by Chotho militants, on supposed orders from the GNC, to assist them in the commandeering of the remaining vessel. Just two days before the arrival of reinforcements, the men removed the explosives and loaded as much food and ammunition aboard the destroyer as possible and sailed out of the base, guarded constantly by roughly 100 militants. All equipment that could not be taken was thrown into the sea or detonated, such as at least 15 trucks, several thousand gallons of fuel, roughly 17 tons of shells and artillery, and at least 500 small arms weapons.

The commandeered vessel is the middle vessel, shown here about 10 years prior, on its arrival to the Gujiyan Isles.

Just a day after the arrival of the Avinaan fleet, an anouncement was distributed through the pervasive mafia to authorities that the GNC was building an army. Flyers thrown from freight trains depicted their uniform, which borrowed heavily from the existing Native Guard uniform. The Native Guard are paramilitary units given authority by their tribes to protect their tribes land, and were paid for by local Avinaan government leaders to not attack them and attack neighboring tribes instead. While solid numbers regarding the number of deserters is difficult to ascertain, it is believed from military records that roughly 10,000 of the 700,000 Native Guard members have deserted. The number of rural people that supplement the ranks of the rebels is impossible to determine, but the number and frequency of attacks in Thoroche indicate almost 50,000. Tribal politics are complicated in Thoroche Island, where Avinaan authority is weakest, and most of the desertions are occurring. Reports by radio and telegram are received daily regarding the raiding and destruction of isolated desert and mountain outposts and checkpoints, usually leaving the local employees tied up with their arms broken, and all guns and surplus uniforms stolen. They call themselves the Military Arm of the Gujiyan Independence Movement, or MAGIM.

It has been several years since the Republic of Aushinit was formed during the wake of the end of Avinaa Rule. The republic was in its early stages a military state which kept the peace while in the city of Assissi the newly formed Republican Council debated for a year and three month on a constitution which was finally ratified on January 26 of that year. With month control of the nation was transferred from the National Armed Forces to the new Government based in Assissi which was at first a collection of nonpartisan representatives and a temporary president. By the time the first elections rolled up many political parties had formed with the Democratic-Republicanist Party mostly made up of Urban Catholics, the United Peoples Union mostly made up of Rural farmers, and the Liberal Democratic Party made up of mostly Middle and lower class workers. In the election the first session of the Republican Council with the Liberal Democrats taking 171 seats, the United Peoples Union taking 140 seats and the Democratic-Republicanist taking 139 seats and Silviaro Furbansío a Liberal Democrat taking the presidency.

Over the next few years things were calm as the government focused on the social issues at home with inequality between native Aushiniti's and Aushaniti's of Avinaa decent. This came to a head when the Slavici Incident when 12 Avinaa-Aushiniti's we're beat by native Aushiniti soldiers during a protest and the passage of the Equal Rights Act giving everyone regardless of race. In the years afterwards the influences of the world grew and spread to Aushanit with the first Communist Party the United Workers Socialist Front formed in 1922 and then the first National Socialist Party the United Nationalist Workers Party forming the next year. With the growing ineffectiveness of the current democracy with corruption growing and legislative gridlock the two new radical parties experienced early success gaining a few dozen seats with the communist gaining most if it's support from the Rural country side and the National Socialist gaining support in the larger cities.

In 1924 the economy tanked due to a lack of investment in the nation, sharp down turns in government assets, and the loss of employment with stagnation being an issue since the start if the republic. In the streets workers in the city threw up pro-National Socialist protest and rallies against the government while the communist stuck to their guns in the country and rallied support from the rural community. In the next election while the Democratic-Republicanist gained the at vantage and the presidency the communist gained 19.4% of the vote while the National Socialist got 17.9% of the vote.

With the economy worsening and the gridlock continuing riots would breakout with violence centered in major cities and attacks of political rivals. In the Council brawls between the Communist and National Socialist seemed common and with violence attributed to these parties in 1926 the two parties we're banned setting off the greatest scene of violence in the nation since the Great War.

On October 11th 1926 members of the United Nationalist Workers Party stormed the Communist headquarters killing 32 people. The National Socialist shad begun attacking and occupying city governments even rioting in front of the Blue Hall which houses the President and Republican Council. Fearing that the National Socialist would take hold of the Government many rural communist took up arms and started to fight back against the National Socialist.

Today the conflict while smaller in the last has blown up into full scale fighting between the Fascist (commonly called Greys) and Communist (commonly called Reds) fighting both each other and government troops (called Blues). Fighting has mostly been regulated to the east but is moving through out the nation with several small clashes in the Capital city of Assissi.

*After writing the letter to King Fabius, Zakhar Gusin has one more letter to write to another counterpart in the world*

Dear President Howe of Avinaa,

I can't go to your event. The reason being that there is so much going on in my country and paying for a cross-global flight is just not worth the cost or the time. I am very sorry for this bad news but it is what it is. You have my best wishes with the success of that though.

On other words... Let's talk about your "expansion". The invasion of Tuaador was very unpredicted and the fact that you and Ionia both would double-team a small country like that quite suprises me.I would think that you could take them on your own.... Or not even attack them at all. But this does not worry me however; the Gujiyan Isles does... You just need to stop this madness. Or sanctions and various other actions could be oposed upon you and your people. Killing more innocents is not needed my friend and I'm sure you have better things to do.

Your friend,

General Césaire Haas watched from his office in the North building as Tuuadorean refugees were unloaded from a heavily damaged ship. The docking crew themselves were quite surprised that such a small ship made it this far despite its shape. Its passengers were a mix of both traumatized and furious people. Most of the ship's armed crew was on the deck or in other exposed places on the ship. All dead.

Césaire was writing a letter to the Imperial Manor asking whether he should continue accepting refugees should they arrive, though somehow he knew what Premier Guiraud's answer would be. He had never liked Avinaa or its allies. His father had fought in the war before and had lost his life. He truly did want to put an end to their evils. There wouldn't yet be an order however, and he doubted that there would ever be one to attack. Despite this, Soverith's weapons research facilities had stepped up in production, preparing for what the Prime Minister predicted as another, even more tragic war than the first.

With this in mind, Haas folded the sheet of brown paper and fitted it into the envelope. He left it on the desk for a while, looking to send it out later on. For now, he continued to observe the process outside, his men struggling to keep up with all the terrified people disembarking from the ship.

Kejserliga Herrgård, Westergren, Nordlig Soverit

At the invasion of Tuaador and Annopol's declaration of war against Avinaa, Prime Minister Guiraud * :palm:*ed in frustration. Though he had wanted to provide support, he could not. Apparently, it was a stupid idea to start a war while it was so early after the first. When he had first heard of the invasion, he almost made a decision to declare war out of anger. Though Tuaador had nothing to offer but entry into its borders, it was an ally, but now as not the time. When the time came however, Guiraud would make sure to make the Fascist Alliance suffer.

Before leaving his office and his job for the day, he sent a letter to Premier Chramiec through a typewriter saying to pull out of Cornese waters and to recall its attacking force before things got messy. At the end of the letter, he added, "Save the best for last. ;3"

Before checking on the research facility in Westergren, Corentin visited his parents' graves, and the graves of his two close older friends who had died in the previous war. He had a feeling that there was another coming, he just didn't know when. All he was sure of was that when it arrived, he and his nation would have to be ready for it. He had already more than once chided Prime Minister Chramiec of his rather small army, yet they did not listen.

In addition to the newer tanks were the large and heavy "Stor Varg" and "Förkämpe" tanks were being made, designed to combat enemy heavy tanks.
The newer twin gunned "Jakt Räv" tanks were also mass produced at this time. It's development was slow, for the Premier wanted it to go on as being Soverith's best tank in the years to come.
The air force was yet to be added to, seeing as Soverith had seen many failures in aircraft manufacturing in the years before.

Dorian sits in the filthy living room of Colin's home. The rainstorm that had drowned the region for three days continues to pour. Leonard cooks a meager meal in the run down kitchen, keeping his gun within reach at all times. Colin remains at his post standing at the edge of the fire, constantly tinkering with the radio. After long silence Colin exclaims with joy.
I got it, I got the signal! Colin says to Leonard and Dorian, his joy evident even while whispering. Colin urges everyone closer and with a grunt of pain Dorian raises himself from the couch and walks over to the radio.

Greetings my brothers and sisters of Corellia, I apologize for my absence. A few of the federations secret police have been poking their filthy noses around and broadcasting while they were so near would be suicidal. A soothing voice emits from the radio, sounding pleasant even with the constant static. The global depression continues, and our tyrants across the sea have shown no progress in stopping it. However in the east Acro has managed to rebuild their economy, their great king has done much for his people, more than any of us can say for the slavers that rule us. This time of economic hardship has provided a brilliant opportunity to take back our freedom, to fly the flag of Corellia once more, not hidden under mattresses or beneath floorboards, but at the door of every house, on every flag pole and every street corner. Do not raise your arms alone my brothers and sisters, to do so will achieve nothing but the blood of patriots. Raise your arms together, scream the name of our land, spit upon the very though of the federation, burn their flags, cast out their soldiers. We are close to embarking upon the next great adventure, one that shall give us our freedom, and bring honor back to the name of Corellia, the name that was besmirched by the devil king. Goodnight my brothers and sisters, and good luck. With that the voice disappears into static. Colin switches off the old device and turns to Dorian and Leonard, his eyes glimmering.

This man is brilliant, we have hope to bring back out nation. We just need to show the people of Corellia that we can fight. Colin speaks rapidly and paces back and forth in the small room.

With what army are we to fight with Colin? So few of us have weapons, and the weapons we do have are outdated by three decades. Hardly a great fighting force. Leonard crosses his arms in doubt and watches Colins enthusiasm warily.

Colin glares at Leonard harshly and pulls an envelope from his patched jacket. He throws the letter to Dorian who reads it aloud.

Colin,
You wrote me weeks ago requesting my help, my expertise with throwing off tyrants. And though I must leave my home to do this, I could never live with myself if I let innocent people suffer and die because I was to cowardly to help. You need not have an army, nor takes and planes to beat an enemy. When a foe is a powerful as the one you face they will desire to smash you decisively. Do not give them this. Hide in the woods, the alleys, the sewers if you must. Be a creature of the night, be a mosquito, bite them day after day, until they give up and give you the freedom you so deserve. I will arrive in Corellia as soon as I can, I will come to you. Take heart my cousin, we will prevail.

YPATIC OFFICE, PRIENE
The Ypatos of the Ionian State had asked the Minister of Internal Affairs to meet him at hiss office. Instead of finding an angry or serious man behind his office, as he would have expected and was used to, he instead found a man standing up, though barely, with a bottle of heavy Ouzo in hand.

"Your Excellency?" he asked shocked;

"Oh Zakriotis my good man, you're finally here. Com sit, would you like something to drink?"

Despite being half drank he had apparently not lost his legendary kindness and calmness thought the Minister.

"You asked for me to come here sir? Am I in trouble?" he asked scared stiff;

"Oh no my good man, never. I just wanted somebody I could to trust to keep a conversation confidential to talk to." said the Ypatos;

With relief Lexiotis sat down and heard the man.

"Do you know what is the difference between us and Avinaa? Us and Reichland?" asked the seemingly drank man;

"No sir." replied the Minister with a voice that almost gave away his half-awkward half-scared feelings;

"Aggressiveness. While they seek to enlarge their nations we have no such purpose. That i why while the sat around invading others and exterminating unwanted persons we just relocated some immigrants and aired a couple of propaganda videos. We are not fascists. We are Nationalists. Patriots, with a little more zeal. And while I meant to show the world that, not more than a month ago Avinaa blew that all up. They invaded Tuador out of the blue, using the bases we had allowed them to use to station troops without even consulting with me first. And that idiot of an admiral went on and blocked Tuador off on his own without my approval Now we're in danger of war because of their incompetence. They may want that but I do not and nor do any Ionians. That is why they voted for me to give them safety." said the Ypatos drinking some more Ouzo;

"With all due respect sir, what are we going to do about that?" asked the Minister;

"I have that Admiral in custody right now and replaced him with a man who will only take action after consulting with me.If any foreigners come knocking doors and saying we took part in the invasion I'll hand him over and say he did all of it without my command. Now about the Avinaans and Reichlanders we'll just have to pray that they do not do anything more stupid so we can avoid war. If it comes down to it let's just hope we can win this or at least exit the war relatively undamaged." replied Ypatos Nifikorou;

He looked out the window, seeing the Acropolis of Priene; Looking at the relatively well preserved statue of Goddess Athena, the Ionian Goddess of Wisdom he continued;

"Wisdom. The whole world could use some of that. Communists, fascists, democrats. Screw them all. I just want to help my people, live in peace and on their own. Why can't everyone do just that?!" he threw his glass at the wall before continuing his rant; He turned to the scared Minister; "You know my parents fought in the Great War. They lived in Southeast Ionia, on the isle of Lexos. Do you know how they died?"

"In battle on the first line sir?" asked the Minister;

"Hell no! They fought the Annopol campaign got home after they were both injured and were retired since the HQ didn't need such large numbers anymore and they were unable to fight. They continued fishing and cultivating and generally trying to get me and my younger brother a decent education, maybe even enough money to send us to the Capital." he sighed before concluding; "They got hit by a stray naval shell when the Ionian and Avinaan navy were fighting back Soverith's invasion force in Colvis."

"Was it Soverithian or Ionian sir?" asked the Minister while on edge;

"I don't know to this day. Though guessing form the direction it was probably the enemy's." said the Ypatos; "And you want to know the funniest part? While I went on and studied law at Priene's Neoplatonic Academy through a scholarship for excellent students my brother joined up with the Ionian Marines and died literally a week before the war ended on the Reichalnder front. He was trying to help some Reichlander civilians in Weigarten escape without being killed and got shot by a Reichlander trooper who thought he was taking them to the execution block. I laughed while crying when I heard the news."

"Why are you telling me this sir?" asked the Minister;

"Because Minister I want you to know that everything in life goes to shit when you least expect it. And every shitty action is ironically the result of a good one. Just like my parents died when they were on peaceful ground back at home, a war will probably break out when this crisis seems to have ended. That asshole up in heaven will be laughing his ass off when it does." replied the Ypatos;

"God sir?"

"No, my brother you idiot! God doesn't concern himself with ants like ourselves. We had our chance and we blew it when we crucified that Levite in Yerushalhem." said the Ypatos;

"Now I want you to take every necessary step so hat when this war comes we at least put up an honorable fight."

"You don't believe we'll win?"

"Considering those genocidal warmongering maniacs that are allied with our peaceful self concerned state I hope we don't."

OFFICERS' CLUB, PRIENE
A crowd of twelve officers was gathered at the otherwise empty and closed building that during working hours was the Ionian Officers' Club. Around at table they sat, with a few lights and in complete secrecy the man seating at the edge of table, or Presidential Seat as the Ionians called it in every day language, addressed them;

"Gentlemen I see we are all here. Now I believe it is time we discussed something; The formation of a secret officers' association, much like the one that saved democracy in Ionia back in 1907. Its purpose? To see through a plan that will bring an end to Ypatos Nikiforou's and National Dawn's rule over our beloved Ionia. Let Democracy rise again in its birthplace."

"Aye!" shouted all the men expressing their agreement.

Chancellor Tirpitz received the letter from Avinaa, requesting attendance at the SEF. The Chancellor readily agreed to travel to Geori City himself so that Reichsland would have a voice at the conference. He drafted a reply and dispatched it back to Avinaa...
Dear,
Cedric Howe,
President-for-life
Dictator of New Avinaa

and

John Gates,
Welfare and Economic Development Secretary
SEF Co-Chair

and

Eric Clapton
Foreign Secretary
SEF Co-Chair

I, Chancellor Tirpitz, have agreed to attend the SEF. I will arrive two days before the conference is set to begin, for I would like to take a tour of your great nation. Thank you for taking the initiative to get our economies back on track.

With all due respect,
Albrecht Tirpitz, Chancellor of Reichsland.

March, 1935
Director of FInance Haskell is standing in the office of the Chancellor, whom is present along with Chief Engineer of Civil Works Leupold Hess, Director of Propaganda Freidrich Jodl, and Minster of the Interior Franz Heinkel. Haskell has been discussing the results that the programs they have implemented over the last two years has done. He points to a chart on an easel as he speaks "As you can see, our government loan programs have done well. Our commercial loans have allowed businesses, small and large, to upgrade their shop floors, as well as their equipment. These renovations and new acquisitions have created several jobs in the manufacturing, construction, and engineering fields. Our loans for farmers have helped increase agricultural output by allowing them to upgrade their farm equipment and provide them with access to cheap fertilizers, making them more agriculturally efficient. This also has allowed them to afford more farms workers and land, which means even more jobs for the people. These loans are issued on what we call DRN's, or Delayed Repayment Notes. These bonds are not required to be repaid until five years later, but the growth that the notes facilitates means more tax revenue coming in, so the government is profiting either way. As of March 1935, our unemployment rate stands at 2.8%. I have directed that half of this new revenue be funneled to weapons production and military recruitment." the room was then filled with applause after the Director's good news. It was then Chief Engineer Hess' turn to present to the room.
He begins by hanging a map of Reichsland on the easel for everyone to see. The map contains red and purple lines all over the map, connecting major cities."As you can see, the latest project that we introduced was the Reichs-Stadt(National Road) program. This system of solidly built highways will allow very efficient connectivity between all major cities, as well as several towns. The lines you see in purple are the roadways we have already completed, and the ones in red are the ones we have not. My staff and I have ensured that a lot of the work is labor intensive, which means that there is not as much machinery being used to create these roads. We are relying on quality Landser handcraft for this. Since it is labor intensive, it means that it will take longer and require more people, which means a large amount of jobs. We have also collaborated with Director Haskell and his department to further maximize the benefits of both of our programs. He has arranged for the businesses who receive government loans to receive government contracts to provide the materials to build our roads. This increases revenue all around. We are well on our way to getting out of this mess. More applause filled the room after the Chief had finished speaking. It was now the Chancellor's turn.

I congratulate every one of you for the hard work you have put into performing your duties. I am impressed with the results you have garnered in just these few short years. I also congratulate every single Landser out there breaking their backs or stressing their minds while making these projects happen. There is no people like the Landser people. I have news of my own however, as you know several years ago I sent word to the leaders of Tethysia, or Kestrael, requesting that they peacefully return our lands to us. Our request has gone unanswered. This does not sit well with me, and I have no choice but to take other measures. Those are our people under another nation's control and it is our righteous duty to liberate them. That is why I have created a new law which will address the issue.I am going to annex these lands back to Reichsland. Starting tomorrow at 12 pm, the nations of the world will be made aware that those lands are now back under our control. I have already contacted Field Marshall Beck, who at this very moment is mobilizing a small peacekeeping force of 5,000 Sturmwehr soldiers, along with a few panzers and aircraft that will move in and secure our claims if necessary. The time of idly sitting by and doing nothing has come to an end. Reichsland will have what belongs to it!

The oppression of the Levites continues to worsen. The Chancellor has signed the following into law...

  1. All Levite corporations shall be disbanded and absorbed by Landser corporations, at the discretion of the market. All other Levite businesses shall be subject to a 7% tax increase on all income, and they shall also be required to pay an additional 500 Mark fee per annum for dispensing Levite goods and services. (The Purity of Finance Act 1931)
  2. No Levite child, teacher, or person may attend a school that is also attended by Landser citizens. The Levites shall have their own segregated schools at which their children shall be taught. All schools are hereby required to screen their teachers for any Levite heritage, and those whose parents were Levites shall be forced to teach in a Levite school. Failure to comply with this law shall result in criminal charges. (Truth in Education Act, 1930)
  3. The Civil Works Department of each city shall begin planning for the creation of a special district in which all Levites within their jurisdictions shall be relocated to. The date of this relocation is currently unknown, however planning should begin immediately. The pure Landser citizens who are displaced by this law shall be compensated by the Landser government and given adequate lodging of equal value to their previous residence. (attached as a rider to the Truth in Finance Education act, with the title of The Concentration Clause., 1930*

*It was the year 1932 that every Landser citizen within cities were forced to relocate to the special areas that had been designated as LevenSektors (Levite Sectors). By 1933 almost every Levite had been moved to their designated sectors. In November 1934 the order was given that the smaller Sectors be consolidated into the larger Sectors. By March 1935, the consolidation was almost complete, and conditions were quickly deteriorating within the Sectors. The Sturmwehr patrolled the streets administering arbitrary justice and harassing the Levites. Beatings and executions were becoming commonplace, and the corpses of dead Levites were left on the sidewalks for their brethren to contend with. In each Sector, there was a Levite chosen by the Landser government, who acted as the " liaison" between the Levites in the Sector and the Landser government. These Levites were usually corrupt and enforced the Landser's will on the others in return for money or some other luxury item.

There have been talks among the Levites that a resistance movement is being formed in the city of Herzlein. Surely a move of direct opposition could not prevail, and failure would undoubtedly unleash Pandora's Box upon the Levites left behind.

Draco Telit, Acronese ambassador to Acro watched nervously as crates were rolled into his manor. The boxes were marked as luxury goods, piano's, chandeliers, expensive furniture. The work men finished loading the boxes and went back to their trucks. One of them walks up to Draco. He bears the mark of being a Levite, and his face is deeply sad.

We can never repay you for this mister ambassador. The kindness you show, is to great for words. The levite shakes Draco's hand profusely. The beginnings of tears appear on his face.

Being human is harder than it should be it seems, especially in these hard times. I ask for no repayment, I have saved lives, that is payment. Draco hugs the man briefly and whispers in his ear. I will save all I can, if you ever find your way into one of my.. purchases, I will save you. Draco breaks from the hug and opens the door to his manor. The levite brushes tears from his face and hurries to the truck with the rest. Draco watches the vehicle disappear around the turn and goes to the collection of boxes that little his floor. He whistles for his servants who enter the hall with crowbars and open the boxes.

From those boxes pour no less than 25 people. Levites all. Get these people food and water, they will be needing it. the servants help the Levites into the dining hall.

You have done a great thing sir. One of Draco's servants says. How many have you saved so far? 100?

I only do what any man should my friend. Draco takes a sip of wine. I only hope that I'm not the only man doing what should be done.

Karnevka, Scandavia

Twelve men stood outside the Capitol building for the Federal government, all armed with bolt action rifles and semi-automatic pistols. Each one was dressed in a black uniform, each one working for the Fascist party. What were they doing so heavily armed outside of the Parliament building? They were going to attempt a coup in order to reform the failing Federation into an Empire, the proposed "Empire of the Two Kingdoms" to be exact. This would guarantee the survival of Scandavia's military power, economy, and its pride.

But how was the Federation failing enough to get to this point? The secession of the Antlantic, along with the great depression have plunged the Federation into dark times. Riots run rampant in the Northern Scandavian cities, and the people grow weaker with each passing day. Now was the time for change, and Fascists all across the country knew this. With the absynal communist and socialist population, and with the people wanting something other than Capitalism; this was a dream come true.

The Fascists knew that once the country was theirs, they would have to treat the Scandavians and Severrakians the same in order to promote stability.

Konigsberg, Scandavia

Eleven hours after the coup, many Fascist supporters filled the streets of Konigsberg in order to celebrate the formation of the Empire. The military arrived into the city in order to help fix the damage caused by the rioting, and in order to show the government's authority. Many more people filled the streets to view in awe.

Happy to see their plan had succeeded and that the Federation was now into he Fascist sphere of influence the Ionians rejoiced. Outside the Federal Embassy a large how of solidarity and support toward the fellow Fascist government took place while the Ypatos wrote two letters, one addressed to the new leadership of the Federation and one to the Avinaan President-for-life.

Dearest One,

It was warm today, and I thought of you. Yes, because you're warm too, I'm sure. But mostly because it got me to thinking of tropical beaches; palm trees; a gentle surf. And of course you, coconut drink in hand (unless you don't like coconut) and relaxing soaking in the sun.

Not, that -- I was focused on you in a bikini my lovely Acroypoo, I mean, I was, but not because of the bikini. It's because I love you and my focus is always on you.

Though, not when you need alone time, of course. Or a gays' night out. I totally respect that. You don't have to lose your sense of self just because of our relationship. I just mean that, when you want me focused on you, I always am, and always will be.

Except, like, if you ask me to paint the living room or mow the lawn or wash the car. Then I'd be focused on that. But only because you wanted me to do a good job, so really, it's like being focused on you.

Oh, and when I'm reading something, or playing a video game (when you're out with the girls, not when you're trying to talk with me), then I've kind of got to focus on those things. But those are just down time.

Oh, my boss too -- you know, he's a real pain in the butt. He really wants us to work and get things done -- without messing up, too. So at work I've got to pay attention to what I'm doing. But I'll always have a picture of you on my desk.

And that's what I'm saying: that really, any time I can, my focus is totally on you, and always will be. And I was thinking about that because of the warm weather today, and because of you. In a bikini.

Love you so much!

On June 4th 1935, The Empire of Dekarta landed on the shores of Vakarea with over 100,000 soldiers on the first day. The Vakareans were stunned to see Dekartans walk up the beaches into the towns, and through the streets of major cities such as Gaungshu and outer Chi'Zhau. Vakarea's military has been on a decline ever since the great depression ravaged the world economy, and military spending plummeted as more funding was needed for infrastructure and industry. The response from the military came only after Dekartans had claimed and fortified much of the coast. Operation Wolf focused 150,000 soldiers onto the beaches outside of Chi'Zhau, while a second offensive, Operation Tekui aimed at taking Gaungshu and the area's surrounding it, many miles south of the capital. The newly crowned "Emperor of the people", Emperor Nagatako declared war on Vakarea the minute he was informed Dekartan boots had hit Vakarean soil. Nagatako struck deals with Anqoraknia and Acro claiming communism was strongly apposed in Dekarta (and much of the east) but the Axis, their people, and their governments were apposed more-so.

The Vakarean military, surprised, out manned, and outgunned began a full retreat into the eastern lands of their country only a month later in an effort to raise a counter offensive some time in the future to take back their home land. The Vakarean president Shinshao Migoma was rumored to have also escaped with the military. In the mean time the occupying Dekartan soldiers urged the people of Vakarea to continue their normal lives, and pledge allegiance to the Dekartan Empire, and in return gain the Emperor's trust and defense.

The invasion of the Democratic Republic of Vakarea would prove expensive, but would yield great reward as the countries ports, companies, and work force now belonged to the Empire. The invasion also showed the strength and dedication of the Imperial forces, through famine and economic collapse they remained loyal to their nation. Nations in the east such as Trandosha, Jasminea, Gujiyan, and the Othalan foreign territory of Oparu were put on high alert as the fear of Dekartan imperialism spread through Arakai like a virus. This was the start of something greater than Nagatako's dream of an Empire that stretched across the continent, a war unlike any before would soon hit the shores and cities of every military power on the planet, one that dwarfed the Great War in fire power and casualties. The Second World War was just over the horizon.

As Dekartan troops move into Vakarea, King Fabius orders Acronese troops to occupy Kayoto. The nation had long been an ally of Acro, and recently underwent a very violent civil war between fascist and communist forces. Though the communist forces prevailed after 3 years of fighting the country was left in ruins, especially areas formerly under fascist control as when the communist neared victory the fascist forces began destroying their own cities to weaken the economy once the communists had taken power. With the economy crippled and riots in many major cities the Premier Taoson turned to Acro for assistance. After a few days of negotiations Acro agreed to help. Acro would move in its soldiers and help quell the riots, it would also export living supplies to Kayoto. In exchange, Kayoto would be annexed into the kingdom of Acro, and would love its independence. It would however have autonomy and would rule itself much like Corn does.

July 28th 1935. A message printed in newspapers in Kayoto
My dearest people. As of two days ago you all became Acronese citizens, not much of a jump as many of you have Acronese heritage. You have had brutal civil war over the past three years, and it has hurt you all. My soldiers will help keep peace and our food and other needed supplies will feed your people and get your nation back on the track to greatness. Kayoto is a land of mighty people, and to see them brought low is a tragedy, I will make you mighty once more. You my children will rise again.

Khalid Garimet lies flat on the roof of an apartment building, empty since the depressions start when all the people were evicted as they couldn't pay the rest. Since then the building had fallen into disrepair. Saddening as this was the decrepit building provided excellent cover for Khalid and his partner. Khalid glances sideways at Dorian, worried that the man is not up to the task set before him. He does not doubt his conviction, nor his courage. But he has many wounds and no training.

The key to fighting tyrants is simple my friend. Be a bug, a mosquito, something that bites them in the night. No matter how they try you will always bite. their tanks, their vast armies will mean nothing if they can not find you. Khalid turns back to his gun and looks through the scope. At the center of his crosshairs stands a Scandanavian officer. Surrounded by a vast number of soldiers who have their guns trained on a crowd of Corellians.

For weeks tensions have been rising, and they have reached a boiling point. All they needed was a little push in the right direction and a revolution would begin. Many of those in the crowd had also been listening in to the radio transmissions and they had brought weapons. Hidden from view of the soldiers Khalid could see shotguns and pistols, bats and even grenades. Khalid grins at the courage these people have. He hesitates only for a moment before he pulls the trigger. The bullet hits the officer right between the eyes, as he falls the crowd surges forward. The soldiers who try to stand and fight are taken down quickly, and those who flee suffer similar fates.

His job done Khalid stands and helps Dorian to his feet. We have lit off the spark my friend, now it is up to you and your people to bring freedom. But remember, sometimes diplomacy can work. Khalid says.

Avinaa

On August 21st, 1930 the Military, in an attempt to stabilize the country and defeat the NFD rebellion, ousted President Howe and proclaimed the commander of the Executive Guard, Captain Harry Osbourg as president of Avinaa. But this did not stabilize the nation, Howe managed to escape to Zabina, the protestant heart of country, with a few of his aids there he formed a parallel government and called on country to raise up against the "militant dogs." The crisis quickly became sectarian, Zabina and the Linecourt Provinces rebelled against the military in support of Howe. While the Guals, Clovis, and the Home Islands, which where Catholic, supported the military and President Osbourg, in protestant areas Catholic Churches where burned Priests were stoned and in Catholic areas in was the same. This lead to Garther Odds, the Pope of Rome, to call for a "purge of the unholy(protestants)" the Protestant leaderships call for the same for Catholics.

Upheaval spread threw-out a country that was just beginning to heal its wounds. The Military, supported by well armed Catholic militia, began an offensive in Northern Lincourt Protestant Self Defense Forces(PSDF) which were loosely armed were pushed back 30 miles. Protestants in Zabina where cut off form the outside world as the navy began blockade of the island and siege of Opermia, the Providential capital. Both sides appealed to Ionia, Acro, and Dekarta for help, putting the world in an awkward position.

New Avinaa

The Colony of New Avinaa was primarily made up of the protestant sect this meant that when the civil war turned religious New Avinaa turned against the Military garrison, which was seen as occupation forces, fighting the very well armed National Front for Democracy(NFD). With the NFD's and nation of Fawahim's support protestants quickly outgunned the Catholics and forced the Military withdraw to Qu'an(the island off the colony's coast). With Nova Roma captured the rebels proclaimed the creation of the "Democratic-Republic of Avinaa," Fawahim was first recognize its existence. Longtime rebel commander Frank Good was appoint leader of the DRA, his first order was to outlaw Fascism. The President in Rome(Harry Osbourg) called the DRA a "laughing stock" and a "a joke country."

Pearl Islands and Vellaletta

The crisis quickly spread to Avinaa's colonies, in Vellaletta the Protestants quickly gained power, with arms supplied by Aushanit they massacred the Catholics. In the Pearls Islands the story was different, the dominate religion was Impova, despite Rome's attempts to stamp out the religion. The Impova leadership saw a chance at independence and took it they overthrew the regional government and announced the creation of the Kingdom of the Pearl Islands proclaiming Acro-born Priest Gabriel Xi as King of Pearl Islands.

Message to President Howe [TOP SECRET]

Postby Acro » Tue Jul 22, 2014 12:23 pm

Dearest friend,
When I heard the news I was in shock. If you are willing to take certain negotiations I will be willing to assist you in any way possible. I will be flying to the Pearl Isles tomorrow for a meeting with their king to seek international support for their independence, Gabriel says he would be glad to have you present at the meeting. I hope to see you there.
Yours in Brotherhood,
King Fabius Acronese

Council Chambers of the Imperial Palace

Your Majesty, taking such a firm position of the Pearl Isles will no doubt isolate us from possible allies, even some in Avinaa will likely oppose us, and President Howe is not in a position to refuse internal help. He may decide to refuse our help if we declare support for the Isles independence. One of the kings many advisers says.

I don't care, the Pearl Isles are devout followers of Imporea, and they have been persecuted by the Catholic majority, if we do not give them the support they need the Avinnian government will crush them. Fabius says. He dismisses the advisers and begins drafting a executive order.

By the order of King Fabius Acronese the Acronese Navy, Airforce, and Army will be defending the Pearl Isles against any force that intend to be malevolent towards it. Acro furthermore will unconditionally support the Independence of the Kingdom of the Pearl Isles and the legitimacy of the rule of King Gabriel

Dearest Friend,

I can not attend in person, if I were to go out-of-country I fear the people may loose hope against the Catholic dogs. I will however send my newly appointed Foreign Secretary William Huge to meet you in the Pearl Islands.

EAST AVINAA
An Ionian force of 250,000 troops, supported by aircraft, armored brigades and the navy moved into Avinaa to assist the Catholics. The Ionian forces blockaded the Protestants' ports while the air force and artillery severely bombarded Linecourt, while the inftantry pushed into the province. The untrained and baddly equipped militias suffered heavy losses against the elite TE Ionian Fascist troops.

NEW AVINAA
In the colonies the Ionian colonial forces prepared in case they needed to intervene to protect Avinaan colonial holdings. A colonial force of 150,000 moved to support the Catholic forces in New Avinaa. The colonial naval force blockaded the colony and the air force bombarded smaller cities. The land force fortified positions near small villages to the north of Nova Roma.

Assassi

As the news of the invasion broke on the Easter Frontier president Salvidori Guhinhici ran through the capital meeting with members of government and military leaders to try and mount a defense of Aushanit and how they could defend themselves from the invasion.

"Well Mr. President they are invading through the Fulimavou Isthmus heading for DeForza and Rennici. We have a total of 87,000 troops between both cities against almost a million enemy forces. We might be able to send in about 760,000 reinforcements to the area but it will take time possibly two three weeks" said Brigadier Dunaci as he informed the president of the current situation.

"But by then they could already be knocking on the door of 2 million Aushaniti's in Assassi! We need some sort of defense set up!" Screamed Field Marshal Zouraro as he slammed his fist on the table.

"Well let's hope the men in Deforza and Rennici can hold off the forces before the reinforcers can arrive." Said the president looking coldly at the table set before him.

"But what about the communist who control the land? Can we not assume that they would try to help them in the invasion?"

"I don't believe so, the Communist here hold a much different view of communism then they do. Much more based on agricultural collectivism and good many aspects of Christian Communism. Many Ashaniti communist do not approve on their style of communism not to mention a sliver of nationalism still exist in these men and women." Said the president as he started to rock back and forth in his chair.

"Well if that's the case then what do we do about their sea invasion? We don't have the ships needed to combat the naval forces." Said Field Marshal Zouraro said as he pointed to some ports in the table.

"Who said we need to fight them head on? We have about 67 torpedo boats, 15 Submarine Hunters, 8 Battleships, and 5 small submarines. I think will play the hit and run battle." Said the Brigadier as they looked on the map played out on the table.

"Well let's just hope and pray." Said the president as he stood up and walked out.

Palimino Province

The day was young as the 84,000 troops of the 3rd Infantry Division, 4th Mechanized Cavalry Corps, 7th Artillery division, 2nd Mountain Infantry Regiment, and the 3rd and 6th Heavy Infantry Divisions prepared for their defense of the providence as it was the only way for the invading forces to enter Aushanit by land. The defensive force evacuated as many towns as it could and recruited others into a volunteer force. The majority of the force was located in the north of the Isthmus and they took at vantage of the thick oak forest and set up counseled machine gun and artillery positions as well as spreading out the forces though out the area while the volunteer forces held most of the towns with assistance from members of the 3rd infantry division. The 2nd Mountain Infantry Regiment were specialist in Asymmetric warfare and were spread out around the south of the Isthmus in a total of 500 ten man section which stuck close to the roads and in the forests.

Further south the Communist militias mounted up a defense in the same way as the Mountain Infantry Regiment although armed with more legacy rifles like the Besppucci Bolt-action rifle chambered in the heavy 7.5x65mm Avioni and the Dreginaro Semi-Automatic rifle chambered in the 6.5x35mm Alanvina round along with a few hundred 150mm Anti-Tank rockets and land mines. The communist were the first to face the invading forces and as such they land mined much of the major roads and had forces keep watch on the minor roads which while to small for tanks could easily transport soldiers and supplies.

The stage was set for an up coming land battle the likes of which Aushanit has yet to have ever seen.

Multiple Naval Bases Around Aushanit

As the alarms sound and the sailors rushed to their ships the news of a naval attack grew as nearly all of the navies C-1 Vulvino Class torpedo boats launched out to sea. The Vulvino Class ship was a light and fast ship designed to take out larger ships although it's small size and light armoured made it an easy target if caught in a fire fight. Holding 15 torpedoes it was designed for fast hit and run attacks against larger vessels.

The D'Surzuro Class Submarine was another ship designed for his and run attacks not only against large ships but against other submarines as well. It was light, maneuverable, and fairly silent but it suffered from the same issues as the Vulvino Class in that it had little in the way of armor meaning it was best geared towards hit and run attacks. As the day riled the navy launched it's interception of enemy naval forces.

The Rebellion Grows

Postby The Gujiyan Isles » Wed Jul 23, 2014 4:07 am

In the dead of night, a train rumbles west through the expansive Gorume Desert. The engineer tiredly wipes his brow with a dirty handkerchief, and huddles close to the open boiler as his assistant shovels coal to feel the flames. The engineer leans out of the cabin to watch the track ahead of the train. Seeing nothing he retires to his seat at the controls. Examining the various gauges and valves, and deciding that everything looked nominal, he again leans out of the cabin, this time looking south at the imposing Khanth Mountains. Suddenly, movement ahead of the train catches his attention. He trains his eyes on where he thought he saw the moving object. Seeing nothing, he turns to his assistant, now resting, and jostles him awake. Looking ahead of the train again, his eyes adjusting to the dark, the engineer scans the tracks ahead. Just as he was about to admit he was just seeing things, his worst fear manifested before him. A man was running away from the tracks into the darkness. Before the engineer could comprehend this however, an explosion tears apart the tracks just 30 meters ahead of the train. He applies the brakes as quickly as he can, but the train’s wheels jump the track, and the 20 ton engine plows into the sandy ditch beside the track. The engineer and his assistant, unhurt, jump from the train, and run into nearby scrub-like bushes to avoid detection, and not a moment too soon. At least 50 Native Guards and hundreds of civilians swarm the train with horse and cattle-drawn carts, trucks, wheelbarrows to plunder the carcass before them. The engineer watches as the railcars carrying iron ore are blown open, toppled, and completely cleared by the rebel scavengers. The iron would be whisked away to hidden mountain caches. The mostly empty mail car is broken into and burned. The coal from the tender is loaded onto a truck and taken away, and the engine is salvaged for nuts, bolts, glass, and steel plating. Slowly the crowd disappeares into the darkness that lay on either side of the tracks, the wind erasing any trace of their presence.

Image
An isolated train station at the eastern edge of the Gorume Desert, built to serve the nearby barracks for mine workers.

This is how the rebels have survived, trading stolen unrefined iron, tin, and copper ore with the mainland for food, ammunition, and clothes. When Native Guards aren’t available for a raid, a local tribe is paid to organize raids on railroads in their territory. Involving more than one tribe’s forces in a raid already proved to be disastrous. In one instance, disputes as to which tribe should receive a bigger cut of the plunder lead to both tribes withdrawing support of the rebels. Setbacks such those were common, but were not enough to prevent the amassing of huge amounts of wealth in stolen equipment, iron, tin, and copper from the numerous train depots, warehouses, and mines north of the Khanth Mountains. The heart of the Khanth Mountains is where the rebels stronghold is, mostly because it is accessible only through small, winding dirt roads. The few listening posts and guard stations in the region were taken over as rebel positions, and the canyons and passes that crisscross the mountain range are vigilantly watched by riflemen working with the rebels. However, the main line connecting the eastern shore, through the Khanth Mountains, with the City of Oreh still remains under Avinaan control.

Meanwhile, a crisis in Nagota City emerges, as the stolen vessel from the Battle of Chotho slowly enters the harbor. They are, however, prevented from docking by the Dekartan Coast Guard. Of the roughly 200 men that set out from Chotho, only 115 survived after food stores were contaminated by seawater and a mutiny left 40 Avinaan seamen and 15 rebels fighters dead. The rebels plead that they be given food, and that the ship not return to Avinaan hands.

Meanwhile, in Bhai City, the streets are constantly clogged by both nonviolent and violent protestors. Citizens are under constant fear of reprisals by the police, and there have been many hundred displaced by near constant clashes between Avinaan and vigilante forces in some areas of the city. Complicating the matter further, a trade vessel moored in the Bhai City harbor, loaded with tens of tons of fertilizer, explodes. The explosion rips the ship apart and severely damages the Avinaan cruiser docked adjacently. As the freighter sinks it leans against the cruiser, inflicting further damage upon the warship. The Avinaan military has not released a statement saying whether the damage is beyond repair. While the GNC do not claim responsibility for the act, a probable cause for the accident has not been determined by the police investigators. There are widespread rumors in the city that the explosion was in fact a terrorist attack.

Kletoischka Square
*Zakhar Gusin and Marshal Steinsbrook in mandatory war bunker*
"So Mr. Gusin, we have two options.... Full charge or stealth." says the Marshal.

"Explain the two again? I wasn't listening" says Gusin.

"As you wish. Full charge is the most obvious route. We will send as much troops as the peninsula will allow us into Aushanit, this could create a lot of casualties, but it is a guaranteed victory. Stealth is where we will try to form some sneaky plan to take out defensive positions on the border, but this could take a long time. Plus in the more time it takes the more time the enemy can fortify its defenses." says Steinsbrook.

"Why can't we do a bit of both?" says Gusin.

"Excellent idea Mr. Gusin! I'll see what I can do." Says Steinsbrook.
*Steinsbrook leaves the room and Zakhar goes back looking at a map of Aushanit with troop movements on it*

"Now how will I defeat you, little foe?" says Zakhar.

TOP SECRET:
ORDERS FROM: ZAKHAR GUSIN & MARSHAL STEINSBROOK

In order to get further into Aushanit mainland, the head advisors of Anqoraknia have proposed a plan. The plan is to set at 24:00, April 17th. A force of 300 Anq Bombers aided by 275 Wolffighters will begin bombing enemy defensive positions such as bunkers, trenches, mountainsides, and ambush positions. The bombers will be armed with the newly designed "Screaming" Napalm combustibles. These bombs make very loud noises on impact created havoc for enemy soldiers. The napalm in them will burn at very high temps and the shockwave from the bomb will be very devastating. The bombers will drop bombs for 3 hours straight and the wolffighters will take out any air resistance, as well as shooting their machine guns at enemy soldiers.

Once, wave one is complete heavy artillery will blast at long-range too take out defensive postions in hard to reach areas. Minecrews and armored vehicles will try to take out mines and any road resistance. This will create a huge diversion for a small army of elite Black Berets (1,000) to sneakily try to take out as many soldiers with the newly acquired Dekartan Dek-196 Suppressed Rifle. If their sneak attack fails. A force of 250,000 Basic Infantry, 300 Anq "Black Tanks" and 200 Troop transporters will move into a full fledged assault.

A New Offensive

Postby The Gujiyan Isles » Fri Jul 25, 2014 9:53 am

Top secret letter from the Codename: Pahki, head of the GNC National Defense Committee, to Codename: Bagheera, official leader of the resistance on Thoroche Island:

I trust that you are aware of the current situation. We here in Bhai have gifted a golden opportunity to you, and you must take full advantage of it. In two weeks, the shipments from Dekarta will arrive. The Dekartans have informed us there will be four completely unmarked Dekartan transport ships departing from Nagota City heading south, along the Acro-Acronesian trade route. I want all available gunboats in the area deploy to first find, escort, and provide cover for these transports. It is of the utmost importance that these ships, and the men aboard, safely reach rebel-controlled territory. Your gunboats will form into three groups, one providing a shield from Avinaan patrol boats to the north, the second providing defense from the South, and the third orbiting the transports at a range of 30 miles, keeping watch for Avinaan aircraft. Radio silence must be maintained throughout the operation, except to report Avinaan positions to friendly craft. When the Dekartans land, refuel the ships with enough to return to travel to Acronesia, to maintain the illusion that that is there destination. Inform your men that if questioned by Avinaan authorities, they say that the transports were encountering technical difficulties and had wandered into rebel territory on their way to the city of Oreh for repairs.
The Dekartan shipments are crucial to our strategy in the south. Currently, our rebel cells are isolated, and operate with near-complete independence. Hopefully the greater mobility allowed by the Dekartan equipment will facilitate more communication between areas of operation, and the improved training will make coordinating attacks easier. This brings us to an important point. The rebellion currently flies under a quilt of tribal flags, but needs to unite under a single banner. The last thing we want is the Gujiyan Isles split into hundreds of tribal states all clamoring for independence. We here in Bhai praise your work in creating a haven from sympathizers, and showing Avinaa the strength of our resolve, but we humbly request that you stop being obstinate in this matter. Until further notice, you are disallowed to fly the flags of any one tribe or coalition of tribes above your base of operations, and will display the new flag of the Gujiyan Isles with the pride and respect that is deserved by our people and our allies. This is final, and there will be no negotiation. The men under your control may respect you as their commander, but they must learn that you respect the capital. The resistance in Bhai and the resistance in the south must be the two legs upon which our nation rises to glory.

The newly designed flag of the Gujiyan Isles

Finally, with the arrival of Anquoraknian aide in three weeks, we will deliver to you the newly appointed Commander of the Gujiyan Navy. You will convene with him to select 200 crew and 400 support staff to receive training from the Anquoraknians on the operation of the newest additions to the Gujiyan Navy. With the navy organized under the new Commander’s watch, you can focus on the sieging of Fodina. With an organized and focused offensive by your forces, combined with our nimble navy cutting off supplies to the Avinaans, I am confident we will bring the city to its knees. I hope that you have already realized that the industrial and ship-building capabilities of Fodina will be invaluable if under our control. Additionally, capturing the railway hub in Fodina would make raids on mining trains en route to Fodina unnecessary. The arrival of the Anquoraknians also necessitates the appointment of a commander of the Gujiyan Army Air Force, who will report to you. His first duty will be to oversee the conversion of an abandoned railyard on the southern coast into an airfield, as well as the establishment of an airfield in the north within 200 miles of Fodina. His second order of duty will be to organize a group of 300 men to be trained by the Anquoraknians, and begin conducting reconnaissance missions over Fodina and Bogul Bay to help you decide how best to allocate our resources and men.
Only through strength will we survive; only through unity will we succeed, general. Keep that in mind.

September 20th, 1936 Zerscheleiben (Shattered Life)

The great uprising in the Herzelein Sektor has begun. It all started at 8:02am when resistance fighters noticed two Landser soldiers harassing and beating a Levite woman. Concealing weapons that had been supplied by foreign sympathizers, three partisans casually made their way closer to the soldiers. The leader of the partisans gave a subtle hand signal, and all three withdrew Acronese pistols and emptied their clips into the two unsuspecting soldiers. They were dead before they hit the ground. and as the bodies lay in a widening pool of crimson blood, the three men hurriedly ran off to spread word that the uprising had begun. The three men knew that what they did next would be wrong, but it had to be done for the greater good.

At 8:47am, the three men spread word throughout the Sektor that a horrible crime had been perpetrated by the Landser, and it could not be tolerated any longer. They managed to attract a rather large crowd who assembled in Malech Stadt to witness what had been done. The crowds attention was focused on four objects hanging by ropes from a water tower. It was the bodies of four children, who unbeknownst to the general population had been hung by the very men before them. They had done to incite the level of rage that was necessary to cause the Levites to rally and fight. Such a racket did not go unnoticed by the Sturmwehr either however. A team of 8 Sturmwehr soldiers made their way over to where the crowd was gathering, shouting orders for them to disperse. It was at that exact moment when a single young Levite man picked up a loose cobblestone from the street, and threw it at one of the soldiers, catching him in the face and breaking his nose.

What happened next happened very quickly. The Landser soldiers were surprised and hesitated in reacting, and this delay cost 5 of them their lives. The mass of Levites rushed the soldiers who were unprepared for such resistance. The Levites managed to kill 5 of the men with their bear hands, gouging out their eyes, clawing at their throats, and ripping their ears. The crowd of pacifists had become cold blooded beasts. While the crowd was occupied with the other five, the three remaining soldiers ran away to report back to their superiors as to what had occurred. When they had given their report their superior officer, Gregor Junge, sent an urgent phone call to the Army High Command Office requesting orders. The Grand Marshall of the Sturmwehr, Freidrich Preise, promptly called the Chancellor to see what he wished to do. It did not take long for Preise to receive a reply. The Chancellor spoke but two words, but they carried enough hatred to convey his feelings than any sentence ever could. The Chancellor's order was simple...Erase them.

Meanwhile, the Levites who had chosen to fight had all began to find whatever weapons they could where they could, as well as constructed makeshift defensive areas in the streets. This was accomplished by overturning what few vehicles they had and piling garbage around it. The number of actual firearms were small, so they were given to the Levites who would be fighting in the streets.

At 11:10am, the Landser Offensive begins. The units who had been on patrol earlier had all been recalled to the gates. There they had been awaiting reinforcements, and now the time had come to push back and punish the audacious Levites. There was a total of 5,500 Sturmwehr soldiers, 12 Panzer II tanks, and air support available for what would become one of the worst massacres of civilians in modern history. The LuftWehr (Airforce) opened up the assault by using its "Drache" Divebombers to firebomb the outer areas of the Sektor, which made several of the Levite flee to the center of the area. This would make for an easier liquidation of their targets.
Image
Soldiers watch their allies in the air attack their enemies, while smoke from the burning buildings can be seen in the background.

This firestorm kills several people. especially children whom had stayed indoors to protect themselves from the coming violence. As the smoke rises over their home, the partisans steel themselves for a fight. At 12:34pm order is given for the Sturmwehr to advance on foot into the area. They are to kill everything that moves, but anyone that surrenders is to be detained.
Image
The Levite Resistance is no match for the Sturmwehr, who quickly advances and destroys everything its path. Seen above are Levites who have surrendered, and have been made to lay down as they are searched by Landser soldiers.

By 4:30pm, the largest part of the Sektor has been either burned or suffered explosive damage. Detachments of Levites are surrendering all across the city, choosing to face almost certain death rather than absolute certain death. The Landser soldiers have taken to calling this battle a RetteKreig (Rat War), comparing the way the Levites are fighting to how an exterminator would have to deal with an infestation of rats. Trains have been requisitioned to take the surrendering Levites to the surrounding Levite Prisons, where they will be dealt with later.
Image
Surrendering Levites are marched through the Sektor to waiting trains, where they will be taken to what will become concentration camps. Their burning homes can be seen in the background.
By 7:45pm, the entire Sektor is either burned or crumbling. The Levite population has been effectively reduced to only 3 percent of what it originally was. 71% of the population is dead, with the remainder en route to prison camps. The 3% are the die hard fighters, who have chosen to take a last stand with their leader, Jakob Wallstein. The bombing stopped around 6:00pm and this gave the Levites a little reprieve, allowing them to come out into the streets for a little fresh air. Jakob commands a last ditch force of abot 800 men, and they all know that they will undoubtedly die. The final push comes around 8:30pm, and the remaining Levite fighters are eliminated, with the exception of Wallstein and three of his closest bodyguards. The Landser soldiers search through the rubble the rest of the night, where they uncover a few more survivors, but still no sign of Jakob. Its at 6:12am the next morning, when a suspicious pile of rubble is found and upon clearing it out the Landser soldiers discover a hidden room. This room was the hiding place of none other than Jakob Wallstein.
Image
Jakob Wallstein is led away from his hideout, where he will then be placed against a wall and executed.

The Herzelein Uprising was just what the Chancellor wanted, who immediately ordered the construction of concentration camps around the nation. Those that were in existence were now receiving their new tenants, who had only just began to see the terrors that lay in store for them. The orders came for every Sektor to prepare to be evacuated to the camps, and trains full of captive Levites arrive hourly. The uprising has indeed opened Pandora's Box.

Meanwhile the Chancellor's annexation plan met no resistance from any foreign leader, and thusly the borders of Reichsland have been redrawn to this.
Image
The Tethysian soldiers that were stationed in these areas were withdrawn back to the mainland. The DMZ has also been removed from between Avinaa and Reichsland. If an alliance is to succeed, then trust must be allowed to flourish.
The Chancellor's next target was to reclaim the lost colony of Osterburg. Only then would the Landser empire be restored to its former glory.

Saarela, Sydlig Soverit

The first trains were off for the morning, completing Premier Guiraud's goal to build a train system that linked all of Soverith's major cities, and a few minor ones, together. Saarela was by far the largest station, capable of holding 60 trains. Each platform was accessible by an overpass, as underground passageways were not an option, especially where an earthquake was prone to happen.

Kjerand Christensen, the stationmaster in Saarela, had just received word from the Imperial Manor that Guiraud would not be able to visit. It seemed that an uproar of some sort had started somewhere South-East of Saarela. The night before, over two hundred evacuees arrived in the city. Kjerand was of course assuming that this was something serious, seeing as people had lost their homes and some their loved ones. And the fact that earlier today several Imperial Army vehicles had passed through did not help relieve him at all.

Levasseur, Sydöstra Soverit

A group of disgruntled Annopolites had started a bit of a mess in the city square late in the afternoon, which then sparked a brawl between them and several other Soverithians. When they were brought in by the lantvärn, they complained about how Soverith had so many resources, but didn't bother to share any of it with Annopol which at the moment was at the beginning of its decline. From the port of Levasseur, they were sent back to Annopol as insurgents which enraged even more of their brothers in the city.

Levasseur was the first to be hit by the riots, which then spread to the neighboring municipalities of Chalumeau and Välmående. This alerted the Imperial Guard, and forced them to send a peacekeeping force of 20 medium tanks, 100 Ruen IFVs, and 100 elite infantry. With many Soverithians being driven from their homes into evacuation centers and other cities, and their crops and other businesses being burnt down, the economy would crumble. To prevent this, Guiraud turns to PM Chramiec for a negotiation, since he had not given any response or opinion concerning the recent riots.
