Mnar Secundus wrote:Name: Solomon Qliphoth

He stands 5'9" tall and weighs 76 kg; he has a lean and lithe, but very athletic build, without a trace of excess fat. His skin is opalescent. He has long, straight blue-black hair, reaching down to below his shoulderblades and held together over the nape of his neck by a rumal [(a kind of short, brightly colored scarf, sometimes worn as a head ornament by Sikhs)] made of spider silk (it is weighted with osmium at both ends). His eyes, almond-shaped, are a vivid purple, with unusually large irises and unusually small pupils. He has a hawkish face, with a predatory smile.
As far as clothes goes, he usually wears jeans, black leather shoes and a unicolored T-shirt with some kind of quote or joke written on it; his invariable piece of clothing is his long, dark gray coat, which is made of Kevlar and incorporates a metal bars sewn in each sleeve to enhance protection in combat.

Species: Human (artificially selected through controlled breeding for optimal psychic power)

Age: 22

Years in the Academy: 3

Classes: Core Psionics, Discipline Class, Mental Defenses, MS Navigation, Psychic-Physical combat
Clubs: Combat Club, Martial Arts Club

A complete nihilist, extremely twisted and so cynical that he ends up often looking like an idealist. He enjoys destroying people's beliefs and convictions. Loves reading, and will often quote from memory long passages of various works ranging from your average shounen manga to obscure theology. He hates "thinking machines" such as supercomputers and autonomous robots, and avoids using them whenever possible; more generally, he distrusts most modern technology as a whole, and has some contempt for people who rely heavily on it. He has a keen interest in biology. Very analytical, aloof and prone to philosophying, with vast logical skills. He despises the Soran goverment, even though he works for it. Despite being a very talented psychic, he has no taste for lessons and is not diligent in the least; since he doesn't fear expulsion very much, he has a tendency to skip most classes as much as possible, and spends most of his time holed up in the library or honing his skills both as a fighter and as a psychic.

Psychic Dicipline: Telepathy (80%), Ethermancy (15%), Technomancy (5%)

- Sathariel: Solomon's Mind-Scape takes by default the form of a vast tridimensional labyrinth which changes its shape continuously and randomly, making MS invasion extremely difficult. He doesn't resist MS invasions, per se: what he does is draw the would-be invader in and let him lose his mind forever in the maze.
- Nerve Reading: Solomon can read mostly anyone's nervous signals while they are being encoded in his brain, allowing him to predict their movements with a lead of about a second or two. He can also read the communications between their cerebral neurons, which is equivalent to mind reading, but this takes a lot more interpretation and contextual knowledge than simply predicting movements, so it is a slow process that requires great concentration for often vague results. Finally, Nerve Reading allows him to analyze in a few seconds any living being's brain (when they have one), which gives him an overview of their skills (basically, he checks which areas of their brain are the most developed and which the least). Nerve Reading has an "active" and a "passive" mode: the "active" mode allows all three applications with great accuracy, at a range of up to 10 meters; the "passive" mode allows only the first application with low accuracy, at a range of between 80 and 150 meters depending on the ambient density (the lesser the density, the greater the range). Also works on computers, but only if he directly touches them. The main advantage of Nerve Reading over regular mind reading is that it focuses not on conscious thoughts but on their underlying, subconscious processes, which most people don't even think about protecting.
- Ether Interference: Solomon can combine his telepathy and ethermancy to send telepathic attacks into the Ether. He can also send his mind into the Ether to escape from telepathic attacks, though this drastically reduces his motor skills.
- Mind Drugs: By using a kind of emotional delusion on himself, Solomon can stimulate his own body to produce hormones however he wants: this allows him, for instance, to produce adrenalin or pain inhibitors at need. The downsides, obviously, are that it is physically exhausting and can easily directly harm his body, and that it plays around with his emotions, making the second and third applications of Nerve Reading difficult, Ether Interference very dangerous and higher strategy nearly impossible.

Solomon Qliphoth was born at a research facility under the registration number 00104. He was a result of a selective breeding program designed to produce superior psychics. He had been engineered to be an ethermancy expert with a bit of telepathy as support; however, when his powers appeared at the age of 9, it was discovered that they were the other way around, and he was deemed an experimental failure and discarded. He was supposed to be euthanized, but he managed to escape and ended up on the streets.
He remained a street urchin for most of his childhood, soon getting involved in organized crime - a psychic, even relatively untrained, is hard to find in the underworld. At the age of sixteen, he was in control of his own organization. He then led a raid on the facility at which he had been raised, murdering everyone involved, but the local police force closed in on them, and Solomon disbanded his group. He was eventually tracked down by psychics and arrested. However, the government valued him greatly as the sole survivor of the aforementioned selective breeding program: he agreed to work for the military as an undercover agent in the Psychic Academy, in exchange of which he had his criminal record covered up, his underlings spared and was offered a guaranteed place at said Academy.

Hmmm...
First, the Soran government would never employ a psychic research facility with such lax control. The last time that happened, the mind war followed. One of the current problems with the Soran republic is its paranoia about controlling science.
Though Im sure that's something Psi-Corp would do. With the Soran government picking up the pieces.

Second, We don't really determine ones mind scape in the app, but through the IC. In fact after this briefing I'm probably going to give everyone the chance in a class to describe their mind scape.

Third, I would divide nerve reading into two powers.

Otherwise, this looks alright.

I don't see a character named Markus in the list ... On what page is the app?

I assume he would have studied their brain structure as well as a human's?

Ah, yes, thanks. It would be interesting indeed! Solomon seems somewhat more violent and combat-oriented, though.
Also, I have a question. Does one join a guild IC, or should I post it in my app if I belong to one?

OK, thanks. Is my character accepted now?
And I assume they are all invited to the START meeting.
Oh, and can I be a club president?

Be warned: If you make a character and it turns out things are going to regularly be more active, it might be a bit too hectic to handle. Just throwing that warning out there.

Ah, since it seems activity has resumed, can I ask my questions again?
Is my character accepted? I'd just like to confirm.
Can he be a club president/captain/whatever you want to call it?
Are all the characters, by default, invited to the START meeting as I presumed in my IC post?
Sorry for the trouble and thank you in advance for your answers.

Yes, Maybe and Yes
We still haven't rped a club yet, I'd like to get a lesson done before we get that sorted, but it is likely that he could be a club president.
Which club who he be president of?

I'm thinking the Martial Arts club, but the Combat club would be fine, too. Since he's been at the Academy for 6 years, I was thinking that he would have been the president of that club for a while already. That would make him a bit known to the other characters, since he's an otherwise rather cryptic person.
