Geography

Region: A Liberal Haven

Alevuss is separated into 8 geographical regions. Each region has its own culture and is separated by the Alevian mountain range that runs through the entire region. The regions will be listed below in order of land size. Descriptions of each are given.

Alaron- The smallest region, located at the central coastline of the Bay of Biscay. It contains the capital city, Grand Alevuss Protective Zone. It is the most urban of all of the Alevian geographical region. With no mountains, Alaron is surrounded by many diverse climate regions. It is mostly lush fields and cities. The longest river in the nation, the Barastonian, runs through the capital.
Baraston- Home to the mouth of the Barastonian River. Has the most ports for fishing and boats. It is just across the English channel from Feluno and borders France.
Feluno- The coldest region in Alevuss and the northern most. It borders the United Kingdom and has many mountains. This nation does very little to affect Alevuss and often feels as if it is very far away, even though it is only across the English Channel.
Raniji- The second most urban area in all of Alevuss. It is home to the most immigrants. It is located North of western Spain.
Lefgrin- A region with little influence on the nation. Not much is heard about this region. It has a somewhat New England like climate and geography. It is located in the central plains of Alevuss and borders France.
Red Kingdom- The least urban region of all of Alevuss. Mostly a forest of Siquoia trees. Neighbors are often at least 10 minutes away. It borders France.
Eastern Ridge- The eastern most region and second least urban region. It is home to the most mountains and and the highest mountain in Alevuss, Mt. Albatross. It is the most secluded region. It borders Italy and Monaco.
Narrow Beach- Home to many coastal islands, it is a popular vacationing spot. Most people here are not citizens, but in stead tourists on extended vacations. Very hot climate.

The Colony of Alevuss Puppet- Very coastal, mostly desert, urban areas, and tropical forests.. Very few towns, but a large capital city. It has the warmest climate climate in Alevuss with long summers and short winters.

History

The Infancy(390-400)

After much study of history, it his been agreed that Alevuss' most likely ancestors were among some of the Germanic tribes that invaded Rome. In the invasion, many of these tribes settled into the Roman lands, mainly France, Normandy, and Northern Spain. When Rome was finally defeated, these areas became under control of Frankish and Spanish. Many of the tribes that would later become Alevuss became nomads and travelled Eastward into South-Central Europe to establish there own civilizations in the currently unoccupied area that is present-day Italy. Instead, the Byzantines decided to get revenge for what these tribes had done.

Byzantine Servitude(480-1450)

As in the previous chapter of Alevuss' formation, Byzantium decided it would avenge its "dead brother", Rome. Since it had been mainly these tribes that had attacked Rome, Byzantium was going to defeat them, now that most were gone as parts of the Francia and Spain. Not to mention, these tribes could make a comeback and pose a threat to Byzantium in the long run. As Byzantium expanded itself to the near size of Rome, many tribes became enslaved and were brought as far east as Constantinople. The tribes ended up being scattered and some even wiped out due to mistreatment. The servitude of these tribes continued for about 970 years. When the Byzantine empire began to collapse, many of the tribes far from Constantinople began to escape and went to the the Frankish Empire and Spain. As for the slaves that were in the remaining Byzantine lands, they were forced to stay until the Ottoman Turks finally took over. When this happened, all slaves from Byzantium were offered freedom. Some took the offer and left for France, while many decided they would remain in with the Ottoman Empire. Freedom at last!

The Hundred Years War Resolution(1450-1453)

With freedom finally regained thanks to the Ottoman Empire, the freed tribes decided to travel to Italy. They had hoped to use their native languages from when they were Germanic Tribes, but these languages were lost to them over the centuries, spare a few. Latin was adopted as the common language. The tribe travelled to Italy, only to find it divided into various city-states. A large number of the tribes chose to stay, while about 1/3 of the original freed Byzantine tribes, decided to keep travelling onward to France. Little did these tribes know, The Hundred Years War was nearing its end and they would be travelling right through the conflict. Many of the tribal members died from sickness, exaustion, and even being killed by the fighting sides. In 1452, they arrived in Western France, which was soon mostly taken over by English forces. All citizens here were enslaved. The tribes were once again slaves, not even 2 years after emancipation. When the war ended the next year, France agreed to let England keep control of West France, as it was now known. This was mainly due to the fact that both sides were tired from war. The tribes had all dissolved into French culture when they arrived. Freedom would not call to these people again for nearly another century and a half.

Colonial Years(1454-1602)

Suppressed by the England government for 147 years, little is known about this time period. 80% of citizens in this time period were slaves. Treatment included daily whipping, beating, and working until exhaustion. The average life span of a West France slave was etimated around 12-15. Non-slave citizens were estimated to live nearly twice as long. Finally in 1599, a slave uprising swept across the nation, led by the king's servant. Slaves were not given names, but we have come to know him as The Civil Man. It is estimated that he was born around 1588. It is believed that he was killed in battle in 1600. Although he did not survive the war, his successor, who named himself Abraham Alevuss, defeated England's grip. The nation was then named after its new leader, Alevuss, on February 28, 1602.

The Fallen Years(1607-1620)

With now 80% of the population former slaves, slavery was abolished only 6 months after founding. Abraham managed to live for another 5 years until he and his entire family was found disassembled at the kitchen table. Due to such a shock, the government nearly collapsed from 1607-1620. For 13 years, the nation was anarchic, with nearly no law enforcement, education, leader, or money.

Re-construction Era(1620-1790)

From 1620-1790, the re-construction of Alevuss after its leaders death lasted for 170 years. In this time, the nation was able to bring education to 55% of the population, enforce and create new laws that protected citizen's rights, and created a national police force and military. The start of the era was lead by Caleb Zeinreich(1605-1630). Zeinreich's motto was always: "With new cures, arise new problems. And so arise new cures." He always believed that there was always room for improvement.

Alevian Renaissance(1790-1867)

Shortly after the era ended, Alevuss went in to an age known now as the Alevian Renaissance because of a boom in studies, philosophy, and art. It lasted from 1790-1867. This era ended when a new problem arose. What to do with the Native Alevians. A Quasi-war quickly broke out between Natives and immigrants for one year. The Natives desired the right to be able to practice their beliefs in peace and not have to be forced to follow all Alevian Laws. Immigrants, which were mostly the descendants of the Franks and Byzantine slaves, believed the land was rightfully theirs and that the Natives should either be deported or killed. All of the Natives would have been wiped out or deported had it not been for one hero, Alevuss' Next Leader!

Calvin Age(1868-1924)

The Calvin age was a monarchy age that lasted from 1868 to 1924. The first ruler was a royalty named Joseph Calvin took control after coming up with the peaceful resolution to the Quasi-war. His rule lasted from 1868 to 1890. He made sure that peace would remain between natives and immigrants. His son Joseph Calvin Jr. then ruled from 1890 to 1922. The Calvins sought peaceful solutions and equal rights for all. That was true until Joseph Calvin Jr.'s son, Joseph Calvin III came to power. Calvin III's rule was only for two years.

Alevuss was neutral in World War 1. They gained no land, nor lost any. The Alevian military grew greatly as people were worried that the Germany would plow through france with no trouble. The economy was also boosted quite well at the war's end, as it was Alevuss who helped supply many of the nations with food, clothing, and non-weapon supplies. They did not supply to Germany, as we feared them, but they did supply to the Allies along with the Austria-Hungarians. Alevuss also gave medical assistance to the French and English wounded. Also, Alevuss had 3,000 mercenaries who joined in on the war, excited to hear that it would be the last. These mercenaries scattered throughout Europe and North Africa, but few made it to their destination. Overall, 1,200 sided with the Allies, and 500 sided with the Axis. By the wars end, 25 Alevian Allies Mercenaries and 12 Alevian Axis Mercenaries were still alive, all so shocked by what they had seen, that they would never be incorporated properly into society. Shortly after the war, however, Alevuss' economy collapsed even more than it was before the war. It started in 1921 and did not show signs of returning to what things were like before until about 1941.

Rublin Age(1924-1943)

The Rublin Age was a monarchy age that happened after the fall of the Calvin monarchy, Joseph Calvin III (1898-1940),made negotiations to sell private information to enemies of Alevuss. The first leader who rose from the Rublin family was Frederick Rublin who ruled from the fall of the Calvins to 1930. After his death, his son, Abraham Rublin, named after Alevuss' first leader, immediately took to the throne from 1930 to 1943. His rule was cut short due to the Nazi occupation of Alevuss which began in 1943, Thus ending the Rublin Age.

World War II and its Aftermath(1942-1947)

From 1942-1943, Alevuss, being very close to Germany, was able to do very little to assist the Allies' forces. They often gave information, supplies, and mercenaries(disguised and given fake IDs) to the Allies, mainly the Unites States and The United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union. In 1943, however, Nazi-Germans, led by Josef Eichman, invaded Alevuss and killed all of its political and military leaders and civilians who refused to surrender. Jews were also killed. By the end of the war, only 354 Jews and 1,453 soldiers remained. All politicians and their families were killed. Finally, in 1944, after one year of total Nazi rule, Alevuss divided itself into two nations, The Republic of Alevuss and Nazi-Occupied Alevuss(NOA). Civil War immediately broke out between the two. At the beginning of the Civil War, Alevuss had 2,456 soldiers and 2,543 volunteer civilians while the NOA had over 3x as many soldiers. The Alevians managed to hold out until 1945, when World War II ended. Allies rushed into Alevuss to help defeat the now weakened Nazi forces. The Civil War then continued on for one year before NOA was defeated because its leader had fled the scene. Josef Eichman was found one year later, disguised as a Anti-Nazi reformer. Three bombs were founded under his shirt. He had been about to commit a suicide bombing at the location of a speech occuring at the time by the President of The United States, Harry S. Truman. He was sentenced to beheading by his captor, Jacob Casey. Casey then took the position of leader of Alevuss, a position that had not been held for three years. With the help of US troops and Alevian troops along with other allies, Alevuss began its Second Reconstruction Era. This era procedes to this day.

A Slow Recovery(1948-1965)

With Alevuss re-unified and the Nazis defeated, Jacob Casey began his rule. This is a time in Alevuss which is highly looked down on. Casey knew very little about politics, as he had been a farmer for most of his life and had come across Eichberg by chance while he was trying to get a better view of President Truman's speech. He ended up spending most of his rule as King spending money onrebuilding war ravaged towns and villages and paying war debts. When the Cold War began, he was unsure who to side with, since he feared an attack from the Soviet Union. In 1954, Casey decided Alevuss would side with the USA. This remained until the Cold War's end. Casey died in 1958 at 46 of what is believed to be caused by stress. Perhaps Eichberg had the last laugh. The nation mourned and immediately held an election for the next monarch. The winner of the election was Georgina Denrere, Alevuss' first Queen since 1850. She, unlike Casey, had a career in politics and tried to fix what she called "The Casey Dilemma." In this period, much help was received from the United States. This help ceased in 1964, roughly a year after JFK's assassination. The new president of the US, Lyndon B. Johnson, thought it better to focus on the Vietnam War, thus ending the US' assistance in rebuilding Alevuss. Two years after help from the USA stopped, Denrere resigned from her position, being quoted saying: "I've done all I can do now. Let the next person grab the torch." She passed her throne to Jessica Roonlee, who had plans for a better Alevuss.

Rebuilding Alevuss(1966-1983)

Roonlee had high hopes of creating a united Alevuss and France with the help of her friend, Mantu Aranane, a well-known Native Alevian at the time. Roonlee was able to seek out Alevuss' strongpoints with the help Aranane, giving a great economic boost and sense of independence to the nation. As relations with France escalated, Alevuss began to achieve greater technologies. Finally, in 1968, Alevuss sent its first person into space. Just 6 years later, Alevuss sent it space shuttle to the moon. With this accomplished, Roonlee stepped down and passed her position onto her close friend and advisor, Mantu Aranane. He became the first Native Alevian to even hold a government position. Mantu continued relations with France, whilst making an ally out Spain. He also began to put money into environmental preservation and opened Alevuss' eyes to how important it was to protect the environment and make peace with other nations. Despite his good will, he was assassinated during a speech. His death was the first of many on that day. After his death, his killer killed 15 more people before being accidentally shot by a police officer who claims he was only trying to restrain the man. Whether or not this is true is unknown. With Aranane's death, another election for a monarch began. From this election, the Tanako Family rose to power.

The Tanakos: An International Controversy: Part 1(1984-2004)

Simon Tanako is perhaps the most controversial leader in the history of Alevuss. When he came to power, many rumors were spread around about him. The most popular of which was that some citizens believed him to be the planner for Aranane's assassination. He was never charged or brought in for questioning as there was no evidence. After he had been king for three years, he annexed the nation of Andorra, which was surrounded by Alevuss entirely. Many questioned the ethics for this action, but still, Andorra was not released. Many were outraged by the fact that he placed the 61-year-old Prime Minister of the nation, Josep Pintat-Solans, into prison. It was not until Davüne Tanako had been in office for one year, that the former prime minister was released from prison and allowed to live in his former country. Sadly, he died one year after his release. Although Simon Tanako made many controversial choices, he also made many that were agreeable good for the government. First of all, he continued to show the importance of protecting the environment. He also put much money into bringing better technologies to Alevuss, such as televisions, phones, cars. Meanwhile, he strengthened Alevuss' bond with France. When he stepped down from his throne and passed it on to his 18-year-old son, the nation was shocked and many protested, however, they were pleased once they received their first impression of him as their ruler.

The Tanakos: An International Controversy: Part 2(2004-2010)

For an 18-year-old ruler of a nation, Davüne Tanako showed excellent promise in politics. He showed kindness and mercy when dealing with enemies and criminals while also giving the people more democracy by abolishing the nation's royal family and replacing it with the Dux Ducis, a leader that is voted on by the people and can serve as many 1 year terms as they are voted into office. He was elected for this office 5 years in a row, however, as the years passed, suspicions began to grow about him. Unbeknownst to the public or many other government officials, he had been working with the former Andorran government along with new rebels from the former nation to divide Alevuss into another civil war and start an Andorran rebellion while the nation was weak. It is believed that he had been abused by the Andorran Rebels since he was 17. His entire disposition had been nothing but a plan to weaken the nation and make it easier for Andorra to over power it. None of this became known until June of 2010.

The Total Economic Collapse by Harbingers of National Oppression of Alevuss (The Techno Alevuss)(May, 2010-June, 2010)

The new era that has brought into Alevuss that has been come to be known as Techno Alevuss, is an economical recession that has begun in Alevuss. It has officially been declared the worst economic incident since The Fallen Years of Alevuss. It was discovered that Alpha Dux Ducis, Davüne Tanako, had made backroom deal with other politicians which resulted in millions of people losing their jobs and the Alevian Coin becoming extremely unvaluable. These deals include lay-offs in the book publishing and auto-manufacturing industries. It was then discovered that he was planning to stage a Civil War among throughout the nation to keep the population under control and bring about Andorra's rebellion and secession. He has been impeached along with many other politicians. They will be facing life in prison to prevent them from gaining power again. Davüne Tanako will be the only one to face the death penalty. He will be killed by being attacked by keas. A date will be set after we can take as much information from him as we can.

Alevuss Today

Today, Alevuss is still feeling wounds from WW2 in the form of taxes. Equality between the sexes is sought along with equal ground for ethnic groups. Alevuss tries to find peaceful solutions to conflicts with other nations and terrorists. It tries to give some, but not equal, rights to animals. The nation tries to show its strong belief in freedom of speech with its motto, "Choices are what make freedom freedom." Marriage of any species and sexual preferance is allowed. Polygamy is also supported. Today, Alevuss' leader is Davüne Tanako. As of his crowning, the title of Alevuss' leader was changed from King to Dux Ducis. Being the first, Tanako had the title of Alpha Dux Ducis. Alevuss also now has a vice president of sorts known as the Beta Electus. Tensions have been rising from former Andorra after having been annexed in 1986 and after Davüne Tanako planned to start a rebellion for them. Occasional riots break out in the area of the former nation, but are quickly stopped. A unification with France becomes ever closer as France and Alevuss were divided in The Hundred Years War. If France does decide to cede all of its land to Alevuss, France will no longer be a member of the EU due to the fact that Alevuss is not. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom continues to try and negotiate with Alevuss to return Wales and Land's End to them after they were taken in Alevuss' Revolution. So far, they have had no luck. The recent economic downturn has ended and resulted in one of Alevuss' largest trade surpluses in history. Zachariah Glenns was serving as a temporary stand in who will carry out the remainder of Tanako's term. Once the term was completed, a new leader was be voted on. Glenns was expected to maintain the position as he has just turned the economy around, however, he ended up placing third, only being above Write-Ins. Instead, Miranda Halls, Alevuss' first openly Bisexual leader, took the position.

A History through Political Parties

English Party(1602-1783)- Believed that Alevuss should not be independent and should be part of England. They eventually formed the Anti-Alevian Party.

Federalist Party(1602-1631)- Believed that Alevuss should be independent at whatever cost. They also believed that Alevuss should have some sort of constitution. Their leader, Caleb Zeinreich, was their leader from 1620 to his death. They collapsed shortly after his death due to a constitution already being made.

Français Party(1602-1610)- Believed Alevuss should unite with France as one country as it should have been 200 years before. Many were killed shortly after Abraham's death due to many believing they were the killers. They eventually all died out or fled to other countries to avoid persecution.

Anti-Alevian Party(1784-Present)- See Political Parties In The Government Section

Native Alevian Party(1863-1987)- Believed in giving more rights to Native Alevians so that they could blend in as members of society. They also believed in the beliefs of the Native Alevians. This includes wildlife and habitat preservation, nonviolence, racial equality, and the abolishment of sovereign states. This party eventually formed the current Green Party.

Alevian Party(1866-1868)- Believed that Native Alevians did not have a right to land and that they should be killed or deported from the nation. They were abolished after the Quasi-War with the Natives.

Calvin Party(1869-1923)- Believed that the Calvins were a perfect royal family and that they should rule for eternity. They collapsed after seeing how horribly the country was run by Joseph Calvin III.

Alevian Nazi Party(1930-1946)- Believed in the beliefs of the Nazi Party of Germany. Also, believed that Alevuss should join Germany and assist them with their cause. In the end, they helped the Germans take over Alevuss when it was invaded. Many were killed anyway by the German Forces. Most remaining ones were killed for treason or changed parties.

Communist Party(1875-1943, 1945-1954)- Believed that Alevuss should become a Communist State. They would have been highly supported had it not been for the rise of the Alevian Nazi Party. When Alevuss was taken over by Nazi Germany, they were searched for and killed. When the Civil War started, many of those fighting for Alevuss were Communists. One could say that Alevuss was saved by Communists.

Legislation

Being unicameral, Alevuss has one legislation house. It is called The House of Rounds. There was once a House of Representatives, however, it was deemed unconstitutional by Dux Ducis Zachariah Glenns. He then proposed the abolition of the House of Representatives to the Public on January 6, 2011. The referendum was passed on January 13, 2011, and with the results announced on January 15, 2011. The Referendum is to take effect on March 1, 2011, so as to give the Representatives time to secure new jobs.

The House of Rounds, commonly referred to as The Round House, as a separate house of legislation which is made up of the major leaders and decision makers of the nation. They make the decisions like resolutions to issues, and warfare. It currently has 9 seats.

Court System

Instead of having a system of courts and and a supreme court, Alevuss has a lack of courts completely. Instead, citizens across the nation are sent copies the evidence and case information. Citizens then vote on whether they believe the suspect is innocent or guilty. Until the votes are tallied, the suspect is put in a room. He is fed three meals and is able to call whomever he wishes. Suspects are observed from all angles of the room. Suspects are also allowed to walk into a specially made courtyard to get fresh air and still be observed.

Prisoner Treatment

In Alevuss, prisoners are given two sets of clothes; day and night. They are given a strict three meals a day and are penalized if in portions if they misbehave. Each month, they are checked for blood related diseases. If none, they are sent to a room where they will be forced to give blood to hospital patients. The amount of blood given varies by crime. Criminals with severe crimes, such as murder, will be removed of all blood. Criminals with life sentences, will have give blood at designated periods, so as to be kept in good health and to ration the convict's blood. If the death row patients have healthy organs, those will be taken away as well. Later in the day, they are interviewed about their crimes. Each prisoner is allowed as much counselling as they wish, even though all prisoners must report to counsilling for at least two hours each day. All prisoners must do their own chores. They are not required to sleep, but it is recommended. Their lives are observed 24/7 by trained psychologists along with college psychology students.

All prisoners are encouraged to take part in non-violent therapeutic activities to help rehabilitate them for reintegration or possibility for reintegration into society.

Capital Punishment

Capital Punishment is legal everywhere in Alevuss. The capital punishment of the prisoner varies among what crime was committed. If the prisoner committed murder, they are put to death using the same weapon and method of murder as they did unto their victims on most occasions. Sometimes, if they did commit murder and are healthy, their organs and blood will be removed and donated to hospital patients. If they are not healthy and have been sentenced to capital punishment, they are not so lucky. Below is a list of legal methods of capital punishment. Citizens vote on what punishment the prisoner will recieve. Once, these were known as the 13 Deaths. They are now known as the 6 Deaths of Evil. After a review from Dux Ducis Zachariah Glenns, many have been declared as to cruel for such a peaceful nation and were banned. These banned punishments have been crossed out.

Science and Technology

This section as the title states tells about our advances in technology and science.

Everyday Science

In Alevuss, most, if not all, are eager to learn. Each day scientists make new studies in an attempt to stop the spread of deadly diseases. Medical studies and distributions are completely run by the government to ensure that everyone is able to get the help they need. If you wish to be cloned you can easily do so. Simply pay AL$25.00 at your local cloning clinic. Then tell us how old you would like them to be and they will be ready in as many days as years you asked for.

Our Capital

Our capital is our most technologically advanced city. 56% of all power in the city is run on hydroelectricity, 26% wind power, 14% on solar energy, and 4% on natural gas. The city is entirely zombie proof in case of an invasion. All zombies that set foot into the city begin to decompose and the remaining decomposing matter is lit on fire, confiscated, and locked away in a specially made burial ground. It is the only city in Alevuss permitted to build dams after the floodings of the Barastonian River which devastated most of the city. Many sidewalks in the city are in the process of being converted into power sources for the city. People will walk on the sidewalk and each step will create electricity for homes in the city. It is expected to be finished in 2015.

Mand van Onvelosa--The holiday's name is derived from "Maand van ons Verlosser", which is Afrikaans for Month of Our Savior. It is celebrated by a month of fasting and daily prayer. After the month of fasting ends, gift giving and feasting begins for the next three days. The holiday then ends with a prayer of thanks which varies from family to family.

The Remaining Peoples

The Remaining Peoples are a large racial/ethnic group that is known for its travelling throughout Alevuss. They are made up of many ethnic groups. This is because most members are people who were exiled or descendents of exiles from around the world. The group began in 1935 by banded groups of people that were being mass murdered by Nazis. They were mostly Jews, slavics, and gypsies. This was where the travelling became common. They were not only running from Nazis, but also as part of tradition. At the height of population, they had about 300 million people in their ranks. After Nazis took over Alevuss in 1943, the population of the group dropped down to 5 million. When the war ended, The groups former homes had all been destroyed, making it almost impossible to return home. After agreements were made, The Remaining Peoples were permitted to live in Alevuss and follow their own laws. Since they are only a racial/ethnic group, they had no land of their own. In stead, they split up into hundreds of smaller groups, travelling throughout Alevuss. The average group has about 100-200 people in it. Most groups are in Alevuss Puppet or Southern Alevuss.

Bio: Born in Bristol, England, Miranda Halls and her family moved to the Alaron region of Alevuss, where her father founded the most well-known University in Alevuss, Alaron Humanitarian University. In 2007, her father died and she inherited all of his money and possessions, being the only child of the Halls and having no other relatives. This made her the third richest person in Alevuss. Since then, she has become well-known for her position, along with helping many impoverished peoples, within and outside of Alevuss. She is Alevuss' first woman leader since 1974. Though a supporter of Democracy, she has spoken of restoring Alevuss' monarchy, but with much less power to it.

Bio: After Davüne Tanako was impeached, much debate arose on who would take his new position. Many believed that Simon Tanako should return to the position, however, a vote was held. The winner of the election was Ronald Tarnott, the Head of Foreign Affairs. Tarnott turned down the opportunity, but recommended Glenns to the public. Glenns was elected as a substitute Dux Ducis. This meant he would only serve out the remainder of Davüne Tanako's term. After that, a vote would be held for the next Dux Ducis.

Bio: Davüne Tanako was born in the Grand Alevuss Protective Zone in 1987 while his father was King. He was corrupted by Andorran Rebels shortly before he took to the throne and ended up masquerading the country for five years. He abolished the royal throne and chose to give the people more power by replacing it with the Dux Ducis. He was the first Dux Ducis, thus, he held the title Alpha Dux Ducis Davüne Tanako. Since the discovery of his plan to tear the nation apart, he has been in jail waiting for an undecided capital punishment.

Bio: Lewis Mayland, or "Screwy Lewie" as he has been come to be known as, is currently the nation's worst criminal. It is estimated that he has killed over 500 people. Mayland was born in southern Alevuss, deep in the Pyrenees mountain range. It is believed that there, he gained sympathy for the people of Andorra and began to kill in protest. As a boy, Mayland was considered brilliant, always recieving top marks. Many said that he had a future as a leader of Alevuss. In 1998, at age 17, Mayland made his first strand of killings. It was his immediate family and most other citizens in his hometown. His killings went on for another 7 years. They instantly stopped once Davüne Tanako came to power. Two years later, a small scale revolution occurred in the capital city, lasting only a few hours. On the day of the revolution, Mayland was captured by Davüne Tanako. Mayland claimed that Davüne had cheated him. Davüne then claimed he would kill the criminal himself in the very room they were standing in after everyone left. Afterwards, the entire area was examined, but no trace could be found of Mayland. Two years later, a number of people were killed in the same "style" as that of Mayland, which is often the dangling of entrails and guts from high places, the smashing of the skull, usually beyond recognition, bending back of fingers, and the "propping upright" of the remaining body, like a glass doll. It is believed that he is still alive somewhere in Alevuss, still killing. Davüne Tanako is currently being interrogated to no avail as to what happened in the failed revolution of 2007.

Social Ettiquette(Coming Soon)

While speaking to people in Alevuss, it is important to not to get to close to another while talking to them if you are not extremely close to them. Otherwise, they will likely back away from you and feel as if you want to build a relationship with them, but often in a strange way. To avoid such encounters while speaking with another Alevian, you should stand about one foot to one foot ten inches. This is roughly 30 to 56 centimeters.

Table Ettiquette

While at the table in Alevuss, it is considered common knowledge to eat your food slowly. This is to show the food's server that you enjoy their creation and wish to savor it. It is also considered respectful to eat at least one piece of every food at the table, unless you have a good reason not to eat it. It is also said to be alright if you do not finish all of the food on your plate, however, if you are not sick and you do not eat any of the food on your plate, you may be looked at oddly.

School System

It is mandatory, though, it is not enforced with a truance officer of any sort. Uniforms are not required; students may dress in what ever way they wish. There are 12 school grades, along with two optional pre-school grades and one optional 13th grade. The average student-teacher ratio is 17:1. The nation has a set number of school days of 200, with one day lasting(by average) from 7:45 to 14:15 on Monday through Friday. Certain private schools allow students to organize their own schedule, by setting their own class times. Other schools study a student's past classes, their times, the grades received in those classes, the teachers, and classmates to decide what schedule for a student is best. They have a December Vacation that is a week and 2 days long, an April vacation that is a week long, and a Summer Vacation that lasts from the last week of June (Date varies with snow days) to the second week of September.

In order to prove they are able to pass to the next grade, they must display an understanding in fields decided upon by an agreement between the sub-minister of that grade level and the Head of Education. Also, students are allowed to repeat each grade up to 3 times, until high school, where 2 repetitions per grade is the maximum. If a student is unable to pass after passing the limit of repetitions, even with their classes arranged to the student's needs, the student and family will be given the choice to change schools or continue onto the next grade. About 60% of all schools in Alevuss are private schools, though, this percentage has been dropping for the past few years, due to more public schools opening, resulting in more private schools closing.

Cell phones are permitted between classes, however, kisses must be withheld until after or before hours. Marijuana is illegal, except for medical purposes, as are most other drugs. Those that are legal, but not of medical necessity are only permitted after school hours and are only allowed for students of 13 or higher.
