Child Labour In Your Nation

Postby Anollasia » Fri Jun 13, 2014 2:10 pm

Lets say child is under 13...

What is the status of child labour in your nation?

If it is legal, state the estimated amount of child workers.

If it is illegal, what steps has your government taken to prevent it?

Are there any major non-governmental organizations against child labour in your nation?

Any other questions you can think of...

What is the status of child labour in your nation?

Child labour is illegal and frowned upon.

If it is legal, state the estimated amount of child workers.

If it is illegal, what steps has your government taken to prevent it?

There are daily to weekly inspections from a government representative at businesses, if multinational corporations open businesses here they must abide our laws and not allow children from working, especially at extremely low or no income. If they do not agree to this, they will not be allowed. There are also some anti-child labour public service announcements. Children are also taught at school about countries which allow child labour to show how lucky Anollasians are and maybe to give inspiration to the children to rise up against it.

Are there any major non-governmental organizations against child labour in your nation?

Yes, some Anollasian NGOs against it are School First, Rise Up, and We Disfavour Child Labour. Foreign NGOs like Free the Children are also popular.

What is the status of child labour in your nation?

It is officially banned by the Felinistic Empire. However, some shady owners of industry have been reported to capture kits, children, and fillies way before the age to work.

If it is legal, state the estimated amount of child workers.

If it is illegal, what steps has your government taken to prevent it?

There have been inspections of every industry on a yearly basis, along with undercover checks from Imperial and National agencies.

Are there any major non-governmental organizations against child labour in your nation?

None as of late, although the populace (apart from the profiteers) as a whole dislike child labor.

What is the status of child labour in your nation?

It is illegal for any person aged 13 and under to work. However, a child aged 12 or 13 may work limited hours in his or her parents business, and the work must be very light. 14 years old is the minimum legal working age (with restrictions), and restrictions are lifted when one reaches the minimum school leaving age (16).

If it is legal, state the estimated amount of child workers.

Strict penalties are imposed on businesses who employ workers 13 and under. Fines or jail time may be imposed depending on the child's age and circumstances.

Child labor is not really a problem in Atlanticatia, so it is mainly regulated by the Ministry of Labor. However, the quasi-NGO Fair Work Commission advocates for fair working conditions across Atlanticatia, which includes protecting children from unfair labor. The Fair Work Commission operates separately from the Government, however it receives public funding.

Child labour is rare, but legal. Instead of banning the practice through legislation, we are natured to be against firms that use child labour.

What is the status of child labour in your nation?

Child labor is a complicated issue within Aurensia. There is no age restrictions on any and all manners of Aurensian society. As such, all actions, so long as they are volitional are legal. If, for example, there is a child of the age of 12 who has attained a mental capacity to sign a contract as would be determined by a court should the matter come into question, then employment would be viable. On the flip side, if a child of the age of 15 cannot mentally assess and decide whether to sign an employment contract reasonably, they may not be employed as the contract is void.

Ultimately, the parent or guardian has the right to assess the employment as well and so long as the child is not emancipated (which would then also be assumed basis for ability to be employed) may terminate employment. Parents may not force employment.

If it is legal, state the estimated amount of child workers.

There are an estimated 150,000 children who meet the requirements to be able to work within any of the given Commonwealths of Aurensia.

If it is illegal, what steps has your government taken to prevent it?

Should illegal child employment take place, it is often handled as a financial matter with the government awarding damages to the child for their coercion.

Are there any major non-governmental organizations against child labour in your nation?

There are a few isolated political caucuses which either believe that the current laws are too restrictive or too unsubstantial.

Child labour for most jobs is illegal in many states, but for jobs like modeling and acting, children can work there.
There are exceptions.

What is the status of child labour in your nation?
Children of any age may work. Nearly all prefectures have laws regarding the hiring of people under a certain age. Typically, it is forbidden to hire anyone under 15 for a job with an inherent risk of serious injury or death and children under this age may not work more than 20 hours in a week. It is also forbidden to require them to pay for things like food or a place to live or to have any other kind of scheme that keeps them perpetually in debt to the employer.

If it is legal, state the estimated amount of child workers.
Nearly all Dagnian children work at some point.

Are there any major non-governmental organizations against child labour in your nation?
No. Child labour as it exists is something people accept and see as a way to independence quicker.
Wait an hour, and it will be now again

Child labor, especially in rural areas, is highly encouraged by people.
The constitution and laws have some regulations to make it legal and not debauchery.
For example, the working hours of less than fifteen years is six hours per week and authorized in exceptional cases, eg if it comes to helping their parents.
The working day cannot hinder the child's education.
