No, nothing like a roller. Rollers only roll around before being pushed in and are basically just rolling flappers. Think more like some sort of funky lever-delayed luger derivative that uses some sort of funky clockwork like spinning ring. Basically a clockwork-punk Luger.

Take the luger action, but connect the toggle to a wheel instead? Why not just toggle lock it then?

It's just that in modern times it seems to be more common for officer to fly birds. :P

So, it would be more like:
- Lieutenant as pilot
- 1st Sergeant as copilot
- Sergeant as flight engineer?

For rotary wing, that does sound likely. For fixed wing, it's more likely for a captain to be the PIC.

Or perhaps Captain/Sr. Lieutenant as pilot and Sr Lieutenant/Lieutenant as Copilot, and 1st Sergeant/Sergeant as flight engineer. :P

Hey, I just had a thought. Could I realistically expect for ArchSec PMCs to legaly have access to ATGMs, rocket and grenade launchers? I've seen privately owned gunships with rocket pods and the like, but never a grunt with a noon tube. Googling hasn't turned up an answer yet, and I was wondering if anyone knew.

Honestly speaking I don't think many of us have the kind of skill set to tell you anything beyond a basic estimate of how awkward (or not) it would be to move in such garments. And even than, you might just want to ask female relatives who are used to wearing skirts or any Japanese people here who wear a kimono.

Revised Skeleton Crew orbat, and a question.

Command unit- x1 "Little Bessy" command tank.
- Captain Walker.
- First Lieutenant Maia.
-Second Lieutenant Michael.
-Head corpsman "Doc"

First Platoon.
-Lieutenant Stan.
-Corpsman Kelly
Heavy Weapons Section.
-Sergeant Keller.
Rifle section.
-Sergeant Ashely.
Rifle Section
-Sergeant Lucas
Rifle Section
-Sergeant Muller

And then it just repeats.

Now to the question-Are AT grenades still useful in a modern/future setting? I'm thinking about arming the Skeleton Crew (And other units, including the Ragon) with AT grenades along with a frag.

Would this be a good ground infantry corps?

70 men, split into three platoons and command section.

20 men per platoon, and 10 men for the command section.

In each platoon there are

2 MG teams, 2 men each.
-One squad light machine gun per team. Both soldiers carry part of the gun setup.
-One soldier carries gun on sling, with (1) 200rd belt can.
-One soldier carries lightweight tripod, and (2) 200rd belt cans. Also carries a lightweight carbine with (3) 54rd casket mags.
4 rifle teams, normally 2 men each.
-Both soldiers carry fullsize battle rifles, with (5) or (6) 54rd casket mags each. Optionally a sidearm, at the soldier's choice.
-One soldier carries (1) 200rd belt can for the LMG.
-One soldier carries (1) antitank grenade for the grenadier, and (10) light pipe grenades in a dispenser.
4 grenadiers/ antiarmor troops, attached to the rifle teams.
-All soldiers carry a lightweight carbine with (3) 54rd casket magazines.
-Two soldiers carry an antitank grenade launcher, with (2) antitank grenades each.
-Two soldiers carry a standalone M320 style grenade launcher, with (20) light pipe grenades in a dispenser each.
2 designated marksmen
-Both soldiers carry accurized battle rifles, with (5) 30rd casket mags each. The marksman rifles have either a reduced ROF or a semiautomatic only trigger group slash selector lock, to discourage waste of the expensive match ammunition.
-One soldier carries (2) 200rd belt cans.
-One soldier carries (2) antitank grenades and (20) light pipe grenades in a dispenser.
1 communications officer, also platoon dep com.
-One soldier carries a medium range encrypted radio set.
-Also carries a lightweight carbine with (4) 54rd casket mags, plus (1) antitank grenade and (10) light pipe grenades in a dispenser.
1 platoon commander.
-One soldier carries a lightweight carbine with (4) 54rd casket mags, plus (1) antitank grenade and (10) light pipe grenades in a dispenser. Also carries (2) 200rd belt cans in place of an encrypted medium radio.

Total weapons loadout per platoon:
(2) LMGs
(8) Battle Rifles
(8) Light Carbines
(2)Designated Marksman Battle Rifles

Total ammunition loadout per platoon:
(63) 54rd casket mags, for (3402) rounds of rifle ammunition
(14) 200rd belt cans, for (2800) rounds of machine gun ammunition
(10) 30rd casket mags, for (300) rounds of match marksman ammunition
(12) antitank grenades, for (12) rounds of AT munitions
(12) dispensers for light pipe grenades, for (120) rounds of light pipe munitions, of varied types depending on mission.

Every single soldier carries a very lightweight battery-powered soldier radio, to communicate with every other soldier in the platoon. Any soldier can request a 'net mike, which connects his particular handset to the portable radio carried by the radio operator. All soldiers can decide whether their radio is a 'net speaker, playing all messages forwarded from the radio operator's radio, or whether it doesn't play them.

The command section has:

One corps commander, and one corps deputy commander.
-Both carry a lightweight carbine with (5) 54rd casket mags, and each carries a separate but interlinked soldier radio, wired into the 'net.
Two radio operators
-Both carry the same as above, a lightweight carbine with (5) 54rd casket mags, and a medium-range encrypted radio along with the soldier radio. The soldier radio, in the case of the radio operator, provides the link to the squad, as well as acting as a handset for the bigger radio. The radios are most often set down on tables or hung in vehicles, and the soldier radio is a wireless handset for it. (A radio to speak into a radio. Radioception.)

Twelve vehicle staff, two per armored vehicle, the drivers are from command, and the commander of the vehicle is either the squad commander or squad depcom.

Each vehicle fits ten people, of which eight are immediate dismounts. Each squad is split into two equal sections for vehicle travel. The vehicles are fitted with lightweight autocannons, are tracked, and are used in an infantry support role.

The remaining four men pile into a lightweight armored vehicle, capable of handling up to four wounded soldiers and four medical staff. It's mostly used for command, however, does have a crow turret and a lightweight autocannon, and often can be found at the front, in a support role. The commander commands, the dep com drives, the radio operators fire from firing ports.

good luck with off-line stock and muzzle rise on full auto. IIRC, american soldiers using the M-14, when firing it on full auto (seldom, emergencies only as dictates the US doctrine), they would do so firing the weapon from the hip.

M-14 is not bad, but it also is not excellent. i'd take a FAL or G3 over it any day, any situation.

It's basically an RFB scaled down to .223, then modified to be reliable with AR mags. Part of that was changing to downward ejection instead of forward ejection. Bullets fly out behind the magwell.

Oh, and the M43 is very ugly, but in that Cold War era style of ugly. It's got some charm to it.

There's also the M43, which is the same rifle but uglier.

And here I was hoping they'd had the decency to choose roller delayed blowback for their service rifle. Shame, really.

Nah, I'll fix it. You're not the first to say it's too small. Too, its technically on am angled plain, so it needs to be redrawn to reflect it.

For want of heavy equipment the platoons FOs could direct no HMGs.

For want of HMGs, the Archians had to rely on shitty fucking microcalibers.

For want of real weapons, they lost the war.

Were it not for the perforated pistol grip I wouldn't mind it so much, but I could just never get behind grips like that.

I didn't say I'd be adopting RDBs as my nation's service rifle. I said I'd be adopting something similar in concept to it, with downwards ejection and bottom-feeding. I also said that the M43/RDB would be the base for the layout, but that I'd definitely be throwing in elements from other rifles. (That's a very long bolt on that there RDB, you can HKKT SLAP it if you wish. Might even work a roller delay into it instead of a piston.) There's still a LOT that can be done with it as a base.
