Then the child will be punished for disobeying. Simple as that.

But not by beating them up.

You are quite right that punishment does not equal compliance. Kids will disobey their parents.

You didn't read the bottom part of my post. If someone bangs your daughter, you can punish her, but you can't punish the kid she fucked.

Punished within reason and legality. Children are not slaves after all.

You can scare the wrath of god into them, though. And take it up with the other kids parents for sure.

When I read the title, I imagined a man who angrily swung his daughter like a club while beating the boy with her.
O'er the hills and o'er the main.
Through Flanders, Portugal and Spain.
King George commands and we obey.
Over the hills and far away.

What is your hang up on kids not obeying their parents? Of course they don't legally have to, I suppose, but they are supposed to. The parents are the authority figure of the house, and their word is law.

I'm talking about parental rights. Parents can forbid their child from seeing a certain boy or girl, and punish their child if they disobey.

From what I'm getting from you it seems like parents have no rights to make rules for their children.

Parents don't have rights to make rules for their children that go against the law. Suggesting otherwise is tantamount to declaring children to be property.

No, it's not. The law is law. You don't get to break it because you don't like it.

No, their word is most definately not law. You do not gain any magical exra juridical powers by becoming a parent.

No, I said that the stepfather overreacted, he was perfectly within his rights to order him from the home, not to beat the punk.

There, I think we figured it out.

No, it's not. Assaulting a minor is, however. If I were the prosecutor, I'd nail him to the wall. Make him an example for the (alarmingly-prevalent, judging by this thread) "children are property" demographic.
