Political freedoms are nil, you have a dictator. Describe your military a bit more, break it up into branches (navy, army, Air Force, armored units, etc). Then resubmit (and don't edit your post! Copy paste it into a new one).

Zorcor wrote:Application: Trying to take the US’s places
Name of Nation/Region (Come up with something creative for your nation name): The Federation of the United.
Capitol: The newly built city of Puri, Kansas
Leader: Tyberius Zahn.
Describe your Government: A Government using a form of direct democracy. It lets business take care of health care, retirement, etc. The main spy force is the OSS which never was disbanded. The OSS puts people in charge. Over all the people are happy and their voices are heard.
Population: 346,822,000 as Mikia corrected me.
Foreign Policy: We will attempt to make peace. If we can’t make peace then we will destroy the other nation.
Civil Freedoms (6/10)
Political Freedoms (5/10)
Describe your Economy: The economy is capitalism, however; the government has a Invisible hand that all business know about. This is what keeps them in line. We will trade with anyone.
Description of your Military: The Military has all the weapons as the US did in 2014 (and some top secret upgrades.) As for the branches more people are joining the Special Forces like Navy Seals, or Army Rangers.
Short history of your nation (You don't have to complete this, but if you do it will be a bonus towards becoming the Overseer): In 2016 the darkest day in American history began. The Stock market crashed, the US government was asked to repay its debts, and the dollar fell faster and harder than a penny dropped off the empire state building. The corrupt government officials would do nothing. Then the OSS stepped in. Their leader Tyberius Zahn spoke with such power and knowledge that the people followed him. He led them to Capitol Hill where the Corrupt were put on trial and executed. They then allowed the OSS to fill the void as long as the Silver tonged Tyberius Zahn was their leader. So The Federation of the United was formed on December 25, 2017, White Christmas as it was later called. The nation’s power only grew and in 2017 Tyberius Zahn ordered the invasion of Canada and set up a puppet nation known as the United States of Canada. A top Secret program began in 2020. It has yet to yield any results (that are declassified.).

This looks good, just two small things: first, your pop would probably be bigger than that, you have Canada now and it's 10 years later. Second, give me numbers for your military. Remember that you are the only one in active war at the moment.

Name of Nation/Region : The Old World Workers Confederation, Workers Confederation for short (Dark Green Area covering Northern Africa and the Middle east)
Capitol: Alexandria
Leader: Princeps Moussa ibn Asim ibn Salil al-Hashem
Describe your Government: Militant Republic where the head of state of (Princeps) is elected, then reigns for life with Absolute power. Single House parliament elected via D'Hont method. Country divided up into states, each governed by a Roman-styled senate (if the Senate was dominated by Plebeians, of course).
Population: ~750,000,000
Foreign Policy: Aggressive, Invades other nations under pretense of "defending ancient cultures" and spreading socialism/communism. Frequently sponsors socialist/communist uprisings in nearby countries. Has ambitions to gain foothold in Europe and China.
Civil Freedoms (/10): 8/10
Political Freedoms (/10): 4/10
Describe your Economy: All businesses owned by the government. Each state in the country owns its own set of businesses which are free to expand into other states, creating the illusion of competition. Federal government keeps close eye on state owned businesses but does not intervene unless workers rights are being violated. Foreign corporations are outlawed. Trade must be done directly with the federal government.
The result of this is a so-so economy. Enough to keep afloat but not strong enough for the vast majority to live a life of luxury. Power is provided via solar power in richer states but via archaic fossil fuels in poorer states.

Description of your Military: Active forces contain about 5.5 million troops (that's combining Land, Air and sea forces). All adults over the age of 18 must complete at least a year of military training, be that for combat, vehicle maintenance or basic medical training. However, those who are training are not required to serve in the event of war, they are merely receiving training so that they may be called on in the event of an emergency. When their training is done, they are expected to take one state authorized firearm home with them of their choice. Military technology is ten years obsolete, but the government is working on modernizing the forces by developing new weapons and vehicles. As a result, government often resorts to espionage to advance their interests.

Short history of your nation (You don't have to complete this, but if you do it will be a bonus towards becoming the Overseer): In 2004, revolutionaries influenced by the Ba'ath party began a massive revolt in Cairo,Egypt. The government responded quickly, sending the army to quash the revolts, hoping to cause people to fear joining the revolt. However, the workers in the country were merely angered by their governments quick resort to violence and began flocking by the thousands to the revolutionary cause. One man, Najib ibn Saif ibn Makram al-Ghazzawy, managed to unify the workers into one massive faction. The revolution swiftly overtook Alexandria and split the country in two. After four years, the socialist rebels under al-Ghazzawy took Cairo and claimed victory. Al-Ghazzawy declared that the country was now the "Egyptian Workers Republic" and immediately set up elections, which he won in a landslide. The Capital was moved to Alexandria, as it has been the base of operations for the revolution. He completely changed the education system of the country and aggressively imposed secularism on the children through the schools. Soon, Egypt under al-Ghazzawy began secretly sponsoring sympathetic rebels in their fellow Arabic countries and within ten years, the Majority of the Former Arab league were under red flags. These republics, all of which were basically Egyptian Puppets, agreed to join together to form the "Old World Workers confederation", an Egyptian dominated republic, in 2019 as a response to the unification that were becoming increasingly prevalent in the world. The new state began to see itself as the successor the "Second World" of the cold war and began to act as such, aggressively spreading their cause to their neighbors. In 2021, al-Ghazzawy died and his successor, the current head of state Moussa ibn Asim ibn Salil al-Hashem, was elected as the Princeps of the state. Moussa, hoping to legitimize his rule, launched an invasion of Iran. The Iranians were overrun within a year and al-Hashem declared that they were the "guardians of the cultures of the old world", pointing out that they now ruled over the historic Egyptian, Persian and Babylonian empires as evidence. Using this, he sponsored a socialist revolution in Afghanistan before launching an invasion of Pakistan, which ended with the annexation of Pakistan in 2024. Afghanistan remained a satellite state.

Hope you don't mind if I altered how all the middle eastern countries ended up under one banner a bit, it just didn't really work otherwise with the plot I had in mind.

Edit: Crap: someone posted an app just before I did.

You have forgotten once again to fix your political and civil freedom tally marker. Imagine, a military dictatorship. Soldiers instead of police, monitoring of all people's private lives.

Think 1984. Think Nazi Germany. Think Fascism. Military. Dictatorship.

Edit that and re-submit.

Economy: The IU mainly exports oil as we do contain over 1/2 of the worlds oil. We rely on oil as a cash export. We import military equipment and other little things. The private sector compromises 12% of the economy and the economy is controlled by the people.
Military:
Ground Forces: 1,380,000 active 2,478,000 reserves
Total of 2,489 tanks
Air Force: 356,800 active 890,450 reserves
634 fighter aircraft
89 training aircraft
283 transport aircraft
302 ground attack aircraft
24 special mission aircraft
481 helicopters
Navy: 648,900 active 702,800 reserves
2 carriers
18 cruisers
8 amphibious assault ships
23 destroyers
14 littoral combat ships
38 submarines
Short history: When the Islamic union was formed, presidential elections were held and Bashar was elected. He immediately proclaimed himself Emperor for life and started building up the military to put down any rebellions. The majority religion is Islam and we are strongly opposed to the west, even though they are our biggest importer.
I think the freedoms are fixed.

Accepted.

I expect a post on the IC fairly soon. Get to it, son.

ATTENTION!

Whoever wants America should probably post a very good application very soon. The position has some interest. We don't care who saw it first, what matters is who applies the best. So get your apps up and let's see who willing and able.
