Just like creationism ;) ?

Exactly. Although creationists always manage to find new and entirely unexpected ways to make fools of themselves keeping their unintentional comedy act somewhat fresh.

I don't actually believe that a Flying Spaghetti Monster created us. I do think that if you are going to teach one version of intelligent design in school then you should teach all of them.

I think that it's not funny and that the joke is overrated. Though there may be good points (there really aren't), it hinders dialogue and also, it's theologically inaccurate.
Note: I myself don't mind turning it into a God/Atheism debate.
Also, I find the Checkmate atheist jokes and George Carlin to be hilarious, but FSM is just not funny at all.

FSM is funny in certain contexts. But I just think of it as an adolescent joke.

It makes just as much sense as any other religion.

It's a workable mockery of religion and a good analogy for how silly real religions are, but it's not drop-dead hilarious as some people think it is.

I feel old in learning that the FSM is "old". It is the upstart, relatively speaking, of all the similar creations I can think of.

It's an old argument with a relatively new absurdist manner of making said argument. However, jokes have a short shelf life, and the accompanying gags regarding "May he touch you with his noodly appendage" and colander hats are about as shopworn among the brainy set as Monty Python And The Holy Grail references by now.

I understand the message they are getting at. Even if they are right, please stop being annoying dogmatic morons. You can easily prove your point without spoofing other people's lives and faiths for no other reason than for your contempt?

If you are so right, why stoop to such levels?
