The hypocrisy is palpable.

As outlined in the proposal, TITO has fostered very good relations with many organisations for many years--sans, most notably, Sedge's brief reign as FRA boss--largely due to Anime's influence and diplomatic skills.

Oh, I never claimed to be diplomatic, and anyone who tries to say otherwise would get an equal amount of laughter.

Anime Daisuki has great diplomatic skills, until such time as you disagree with him. I was far from the only person at the FRA who found his and Grub's heavy handed approach to TITO-FRA relations extremely unpleasant when the FRA dared to stand up to the gross hypocrisy of TITO spitefully picking on the communities of small defenceless regions whose former members had once offended 10000 Islands.

It's far from the only example of his undiplomatic behaviour - whether it be childishly having Anime's delegate kicked from the region for refusing to vote according to AD's instructions, and also an underhanded attempt to repeal my commendation from behind a puppet with a load of untruths.

There's no doubt he's made significant contributions to both defending and NS, but if the WA is claiming Anime Daisuki is a skilled diplomat, it might as well give Falconias and Anur-Sanur the same epithet.

It's laughable and surprising that you would even consider Anime to have comparable diplomatic skills to Anur-Sanur. The fact is that FRA's revolving door invites rapid shifts in diplomacy within and outside the group; however, many times in Anime's tenure as TITO FC, FRA and TITO have had great relations. Not to mention all the other organisations XKI has close relations to; for example, Texas and XKI have one of the greatest alliances in NS history and a lot of that is to do with Anime.

I'm not going to comment on things that I do not know about; I'm sure there are others out there that know more about the stuff the predates me. However, unless you know something that I do not, Sedge, the allegations that the proposal to repeal Commend Sedge was Anime's remains unproven. If you know as much as I do, you treating it as fact is certainly concerning. There seems to be more consensus that it came from Gateville, and you are the only person I see that has directly disputed the factuality of the piece (Unibot whined without much substance). I do appreciate AMOM's comment down the thread. Regardless, basically anybody is welcome to make an attempt to repeal any resolution--including yours--so I'm not sure why this has become part of the conversation.

For what it's worth, Anime and I have disagreed many times on various issues but we were always able to sort it out amicably. I helped Ramaeus with this proposal not because Anime and I are best friends--we are quite far from that--but because he is an exemplary leader, a perfectionist, a workhorse, and has made positive contributions to this game over sustained periods. In my opinion, this is what makes him worthy of being commended.

Heh I never claim to be a good diplomat. For an example of a person with good diplomatic skills you have to look to Ananke or MinnaCaroline whom are well loved by all. I was the sole Tactical Officer and then the FC for TITO for a few years and often I had to dole out discipline and adopt positions that's upsetting to certain people. It's partly because I don't want to deal with bruised egos anymore that I left the gameplay scene.

I will respond to Sedge's mentioning of "unfair ejection" of Anime's delegate since it's an event close to my heart. DHaran had been delegate of Anime for a long time and I considered him a good friend. His expulsion of Anime troubled me for weeks, even now remembering it makes me a little sad. However, that was a necessary action to take at the time. Before he became delegate there was an agreement among senior members that elections be held every 4 months. We did not follow up because everyone was busy and conveniently forgot, so DH hung on to being delegate more than a year (I believe nearly two). This became a problem because as he went on he became very inactive. The population of Anime dropped from 80 to 30....the lowest ever then and now. DH would login only once a week or so, and resolutions were not voted on. At that point we asked him to step down but his reply was we had to remove him if we wanted him to go. Left with no choice, I ejected him for an update to remove his endorsements. He got upset with that and left for a different region.

I had to remove another inactive delegate in Yggdrasil some years back. The difference was Yggdrasil had a constitutional process and the delegate willingly stepped down when confronted with his inactivity. Regardless, it's not a pleasant thing for me to have confronted him.

~GRO~

EDIT: Removed a mention of Codger. My apologies to him. I had assumed he was Czech Mate and he wasn't.

I sacrificed any opportunity to ever take part in a meaningful way in any major GCR/UCR/Raider/Defender organisation because I believed in rebuilding EE. Communist Eraser has existed in EE for almost 2 years now and my WA has been stuck in this region for most of the period, meaning I literally can't do anything elsewhere.

I handled delicate negotiations with a (somewhat-legitimately after all that happened) paranoid founder, convincing him that I can be trusted to carry out the vision of rebuilding the region. I committed (manual) recruitment and community building in a region had seen too much drama and prejudice. I had been purged and then rehabilitated for trying to liberalise EE too quickly - yes, rehabilitated because I didn't give up on the region's potential even when I was kicked the first time and worked to change their minds.

I eventually earned the trust and respect was able to convince EE to change itself to be more open/welcoming -> the "Stalinism" prevalent originally is a considered a parody of itself nowadays, and the flag an ironic Pringles-Man-Stalin. Heck, I even spent countless hours learning (and still learning) about Eastern European history and culture (wtf am I reading Eastern European newspapers sometimes), just because I wanted the region to be more than just stereotypes about Stalinism/Socialism - a long way from my Chinese-Australian origins.

Look at me and say 'bruised ego' again. In my egoistic opinion, my project here (and other opportunities I passed up on) has to be one of the most altruistic acts of NS gameplay.

It seems odd to me that you consider yourself stuck in EE considering that you have been delegate 3 times, including right now. That kind of comes with the territory. And to have the gall to say that it's altruistic! I think many nations would be quite happy to fill your boots without the tiny violins playing.

Any work you did before or after he refounded the region was completely behind closed doors to every defender that I talked to about it. To blame Anime for not being able to read your mind is patently absurd.

You know Ramaeus,I actually thought you had potential and were on the track to be a great author with the second TBR condemnation, but now I see you're just another circlejerking defender

creating numerous tactical techniques for the betterment of all defenders,

Such as?

The Founderless Regions Alliance (FRA), Alliance Defense Network (ADN), Renegade Islands Alliance (RIA), Yggdrasil Defense Service (YDS), Texas, and Pacific Defenders, devising joint military operations throughout the world,

How weird I never seen ANY joint ops by those people!

France, which, had it not been refounded by Anime Daisuki, would have fallen under the possession of Macedon—a formerly prolific raiding and imperialist organization,
India, whereby, under the leadership of Anime Daisuki by the joint forces of TITO and YDS, amongst others, control was seized from the raiding organization The Dominion,

Yay? Macedon isn't exactly active anymore so I'm assuming this was years ago,and the dominion I've never even heard off, searching for it reveals 1 region founded 200+ days ago,so not exactly recent "achievements"

Further applauding the numerous missions Anime Daisuki has led, including The Siege of South America, notable for the tremendous amount of support from all participating parties over a lengthy time period, and The Siege of Rajahland, involving over 200 nations, with both missions resulting in defender victories,

Hey,lets throw people at a wall and see what sticks!,you should mention how the raiders got in in the first place

Recognizing Anime Daisuki's authorship and co-authorship of multiple resolutions, notably:

You actually made me hope something good was coming up,but you disappointed me once again

SC#30, Commend 10000 Islands (co-author): acknowledging the ongoing positive influence to the world by one of the largest regions in the game,

self-commend is now a good thing?

SC #44, Commend Texas (co-author): recognizing a historical and influential region,
SC# 108, Liberate South Pacific: liberating a region of historical significance,

*makes a up and down gesture with his closed hand*

Respecting Anime Daisuki's role as delegate of 10000 Islands, expanding one of the most influential regions in the world through concerted recruitment efforts, overseeing over 1,000 delegate endorsements, and encouraging WA authorship,

That's funny,I see 366 endorsements on the current delegate, where did the remaining 634 go?

Admiring Anime Daisuki's extraordinary abilities as a defender, admiring its persistence and diligence, even in the face of mounting odds, admiring its defense of regional sovereignty and the protection of nations it defends, respecting the dedication and innovation it has brought to our world, and believing its actions worthy of the highest recognition,

Funny how a defender showing persistence, diligence and winning against all odds gets a pat on the back, while a raider gets insulted by 50 people for doing the same

The only REAL achievement in this resolution is this:

GA#53, Epidemic Response Act: establishes a framework for recognizing, containing, preventing, and curing epidemics and pandemics,
GA#223, Transboundary Water Use Act: mandates that member nations use transboundary water resources responsibly,
Appreciating that Anime Daisuki, through the nation Goddess Relief Office, has created the stable and enduring region Yggdrasil—home to a few hundred nations and The YDS,

...and believe me,i tried hard to find something good in this resolution
No,I don't speak for TBR,TBH,your mom, moderation or any other person/organization,just saying before anyone thinks that

1) He was one of the first defenders to utilize the new update system, organizing large scale missions last minute and arriving enforce seconds from the update. It then spread to the rest of the community.

2) FRA/YDS had missions together about a month ago, Texas/FRA had numerous ones less than a week ago. My point is, just because you don't see them doesn't mean their not active.

3) Not everything is going to be from the past 5 years, Macedon was one of the first major Imperialist regions, and the first to be condemned by this council.

4) The difference is the Natives didn't expect an invasion, that's like saying Omaha Beach was the same as Family Swim Day.

5) This point is literally just here to insult the guy. You don't have to be a jerk :[

6) Can't argue with this one.

7) They deserved their respected resolutions

8) People CTE'd over 2 years, TITO's probably out of the region, and an over abundance of puppets. Personally, I remember the number being more around 700

9) The difference is Defenders don't destroy communities, and clean up invaders messes.

10) You didn't even research anything so, you didn't know what you were looking for... That's hardly "Trying hard"

But I digress; To the topic at hand:

Ramaeus wrote:The Security Council,
Impressed by Anime Daisuki's leadership as a defender in Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO)—one of the largest and most enduring defender organizations—based in 10000 Islands, through uncovering numerous invasions, participating in the defenses of several hundred regions, possessing incredible attention to detail, coordinating and commanding hundreds of defenses, and creating numerous tactical techniques for the betterment of all defenders,

You kind of repeat yourself here a bit, I would take out "coordinating and commanding hundreds of defenses" and "participating in the defenses of several hundred regions", then reword it as "Commanding, coordinating, and participating in the defense of hundreds of regions" so they don't run together as much while reading.

Ramaeus wrote:Applauding Anime Daisuki for the numerous regions it has refounded and secured for displaced native populations, notably:

India, whereby, under the leadership of Anime Daisuki by the joint forces of TITO and YDS, amongst others, control was seized from the raiding organization The Dominion,

He also refounded Midgard (Not sure of the story behind this one), Valhalla (He participated in the liberation, but the defenders upped a sleeper of The New Inquisition and it was refounded as a trophy for 1.5 years. When the founder CTE'd Anime refounded less than a day later, not only showing that he didn't abandoned the region after 1.5 years, but also showing his diligence to the Defense community in the face of adversity. Since then he has also made every effort to keep Valhalla active despite also being the founder of two other regions) and Yggdrasil (AN was a member of the original Yggdrasil, but left for Anime when it was locked and fell into decline. He eventually refounded it out of nostalgia in late 2006/early 2007, and it has grown to what it is today). Since then, Valhalla and Yggdrasil have been pretty active and thriving, although small, and Midgard has gone on to be Refounded by Silvadus.

Ramaeus wrote:Appreciating that Anime Daisuki, through the nation Goddess Relief Office, has created the stable and enduring region Yggdrasil—home to a few hundred nations and The YDS,

This part worries me; it doesn't really have anything special too it. A lot of people found nations, it just seems lack-luster. I would take it out, or reword it as "Appreciating that Anime Daisuki, through the nation Goddess Relief Office, has created the stable and enduring region Yggdrasil as a neutral haven for all nations seeking peace in the world of Nation States. He has also founded the Yggdrasil Defense Service, a semi-active defense core which has brought stability to numerous regions over it's lifetime

Your sub-par ability to express in the English language is appalling - not through just this but through many of your mutterings in the entire presence of your delegation in these halls, which is exasperatingly irritating and at best, laughable.

Yggdrasil is defender? If GRO, nein, the natives of the region says it's neutral and people like me don't even partake in YDS - which probably is your 'strongest' link to your allegations, what bloody right do you have to call us defender, filthy raider?"

Port Blood, have you ever considered you're the biased one here? Every thread you post in is all about how the defenders rule the SC and how they all personify raiders as evil, baby-eaters. If you can't see past Anime's defending accomplishments and see that this is a well-written proposal with many other fine points worth Commending, perhaps you should take your TBH-issued blinders off.

EDIT: Side note - look at that damn defender proposal at vote RIGHT NOW! Clearly everything that goes through here is defender-accepted!

Oh, Port blood. Did we ever get to the bottom of whether he was a defender spy trying to make raiders look bad? If so, I missed his outing.

Your points are laughably ridiculous, most evidenced by that you have no clue who the Dominion was to such a degree that you'll attack this resolution over it.

0) Only did it because if I responded to your initial message the way I wanted too it would take up half the page xD
Glad you have a sensible outlook on it

1) A long time ago the update was a random time over the course of an hour, so Raiders/Defenders would jump in the beginning and hope they didn't get banjected before the update. When that changed to a stable time AN (being the leader of the largest Defender military in NSG) was one of the first defenders to organize people to use the new update system, which required actually strategy and discipline. This spread to the other Defender groups largely because of his actions in organizing and trailblazing it.

2) They cooperate a lot more than you would think, but it's one of those things you have to be a part of to actually know the full scale.

3) Why not bring up the past? BigTex wouldn't have been commended if nobody brought up the stuff he did Pre-2009, most of which was groundbreaking, such as NSSuite. The point is this is Anime Daisukis history, not ours, and if he did something it should be included. I'm not arguing Macedon's not historically significant, but Anime Daisuki is one of those "Legendary" figures from NS History, like Big Wolf, or Ananke, and his actions had huge ripples in the game

4) It's much harder to liberate it than it is to invade, sometimes the first couple battles don't work out. Nothing we can do about that. So they bring in more people, we have to bring in more to counter next time, and it keeps growing till one side leaves. Before the stable update it was rare to have Tag-raiders, so defending had more meaning behind it; hence, both sides could afford to throw that many at a single region if the region itself was on the line.

5/6/7) Who would you propose that AN doesn't fit the criteria?

8) It's Animes history, not ours. If they wanted too they could bring up history from 2006.

9) And so Godwin's law comes into play. I don't see the comparison though, are you trying to allude AN to Hitler? All I'm saying is when you attack people for no reason then you make enemies, AN did the opposite, so he has a lot of friends all over the place.

10) Makes sense, good to have more than one side proofing the resolution. Thank you for your input :)

11) Got some GA resolutions through a little while back, also did some Defender work. Nothing else really comes to mind, then again I don't know him personally.

12) Technically we're neutral; we have a military for ourselves and our allies, but have never used it outside of occasional defense missions for them. While we can never be called Raiders, we don't really do much Defending outside of Coast-watching with the occasional call for assistance by TITO. Even so, the vast majority of people in Yggdrasil have chosen to keep out of the YDS and away from Military gameplay, so if anything we're more "Neutral, Defender Leaning". Not because we want to be Defenders, but because being on the Defender side of gameplay is better then being on the Raider side of gameplay. Same reason you're nice to your neighbors, it's better to have good relations than bad.

So I'll admit that the YDS is Defender-oriented, but Yggdrasil's foreign policy and citizenry aren't.

14) It means their not really active anymore, but they used to be super active pre-2009

15) They can't do joint-ops when their no longer active, but they used too

16) The above is how they got 200+ nations. There used to be a lot more people playing NSG, and a large amount of them were Defenders.

In case anyone is thinking:

Names of pretty-well known defenders were TGed to Eist to support my claims, - Hate to think I scurried away, it's simple enough to give a direct answer. Other things are discussed with AD in TG as well, thus no need to further air stuff here.

Maybe before correcting my grammar and punctuation because you can't win a argument, you should look at Vrolondia his (her? your flag is throwing me off here...) and snip out the huge posts that don't need to be quoted,if reference is needed you can just click on the "wrote" part thats highlighted green at the top of a quote

Actually,if you would read my points, the YDS is just a minor point i make, the strongest being that i dislike a defender being commended on basis of pure defender achievements from years ago, would you remove anything 1 year old+ it would run REALLY thin, and oh,i don't like being called filthy,i shower (or bathe if i wanne relax) every day (oh,and i also am not a raider technically)

SkyDip,I greatly respect you, would you be so kind as to point non-defender achievements? because I seem to be missing most,if not all of them

0) hehe,so true, more people should start using numbered points,on a related note I'm starting to gain more and more respect for you,am I right in thinking you're a defender? if so I would like to thank you for your above standard polite responses and corrections,I don't know all history exactly so i appreciate the lessons

1) Regardless of allegiance this IS a very commendable point as it transcends R/D and becomes a general contribution, just like afforess his NS++,I didn't know this piece of history, and I agree that he should be commended on this point

2) This is actually the result of a lacking resolution, that gives off a statement without backing it up with examples, with some extra info this would be a decent point to commend on

3) While I agree that historical value is important,my disagreement lies in the fact that most,if not all mentions are based on historical events,if he deserved a commendation he should have gotten is years ago

4) Raiders are able to organize much and much quicker with severe game-side limitations, one mess-up can compromise the entire operation, such as a puppet being spotted, alerting the defenders to the movement

5/6/7) I'm not dismissing AN as a commendation candidate,I'm criticizing the proposal at hand for obvious bias, people like SkyDip and you are much more deserving in my opinion, and even this author prior to this proposal, because i thought he was a unbiased writter due to his TBR condemnation proposal being written in excellent

8) A good dutch saying goes "ouwe koeien uit de sloot halen" literately translating to "getting old cows out of the gutter" ....not sure if that makes sense

9) Actually, you invoked Godwin's law in previous post technically with point 4
My point here is that its basically saying that invaders in all contexts are bad,and the defending force is always right(meaning ingame, and don't complain about comparing to RL,defenders do that all the time so i think i have the same right),the hitler part was just because i couldn't think of a different comparison on the spot

10) History is hard to research on NS,too much off it and it suddenly cuts off at a certain time because the forum was broken

11) Exactly my point, nothing special done recently and this is just dretching up the past for the sake of defender ego (all of them)

12) Sorry,i meant defender-leaning more then pure defender,I wouldn't say you guys are neutral though, just more towards neutral then defender, but then again, who is neutral these days?

14) I am a dwarf...

15) And I'm digging a hole,diggy diggy hole

16) Communication error, sorry,I meant how did the raiders amass so badly that 200+ nations were needed to kick them out? the initial wave is pretty weak and is reinforced afterwards
No,I don't speak for TBR,TBH,your mom, moderation or any other person/organization,just saying before anyone thinks that

Refounding of regions with displaced natives, WA authorship in both divisions, being the Delegate with the most recorded WA endorsements in the history of the game (correct me if I'm wrong, but I've certainly never seen anyone with more) and helping to get XKI to that level of WA involvement, founding a long-standing region with active membership.

I don't know why I have to point these out. I'd hope you're just being intentionally thick and didn't actually misread half the proposal as defender "circlejerking."

0) Mhmm, I'm a Defender, I appreciate the complement :)

3) Just because he doesn't have it doesn't mean he doesn't deserve it though, the option to Commend/Condemn only came about in 2009, and nobody from 10000 Islands wanted to commend him because then it would be a self-commendation.

4) Same with defenders, but they also have the problem of the invaders expecting them

5/6/7) Psssshhaaaaa, I have no intention of ever getting one of these things. I hate the WA

8) Can't say it does xD I'm assuming your dutch?

9) Sorry, most defenders can't justify attacking and disrupting communities, and when Invaders try to it just makes them angry

10) I tend to just pick it up as I go xD Learned most of it from Anime Daisuke and The Bruce

11) Not so much Defender ego I'd say; more so because he has made significant contributions to the game. Problem is, most of them were somehow intertwined when he was an active defender so there's little distinction between the two. Does it really matter though if he's a defender or not in the end? You have to admit he has done a lot in his time here, and this is just a way to thank him.

12) Good point, not many places are true neutral. I guess the problem though is that you're one or the other; if you invade your an Invader, even if you do defense missions too.

15) Lol

16) Keep reinforcing, no way to really stop them once they start

I think we are talking about two different things. I don't dispute the claim that you were and are in Eastern Europe to help it grow. However, you didn't appear in Eastern Europe until about six months after it was refounded by Czech Mate and, again, about six months after Anime submitted his attempt to liberate the region. You were in TRR and then Grand Central up until early March 2012 before moving to Eastern Europe to help it out.

The fact is that delegate Czech Mate hostilely locked Eastern Europe (at the time founderless) against the wishes of the natives, locked the region, booted them all out, and refounded it on the 14th Aug 2011. That is about as clear cut for defender action as I can think of. Anime not only did nothing wrong here, he did everything right. His actions reinforce why he should be commended. Why you hold a grudge over him for this is perplexing to say the least.

In short, you telling other defenders that you are in the region to help it grow is inconsequential to the discussion about Anime's attempts to liberate the region from what at the time seemed like certain doom for the region. I'm glad that you and Czech Mate have found some common ground to help the region thrive, but it's of no importance to this discussion.
