Ahhhhhh, it's good to be back.
I would like to note that - as part of the time skip - I would have colonized whatever African land I was granted at the Cairo conference. Also, Austria and I would have concluded the deal that we planned on making 2 months ago IRL. Soooo yeah, I'm also getting kinda jealous of all the love Argentina is getting. My armies are better trained and are 10 times the size! I guess that makes the only true power in S. America an underdog.

You were awarded no land in Africa.

Yes, but the UK's take is that you are an inferior nation unworthy of controlling colonies and would actively try to stop your colonial exploits.
Plus, it's kinda hard to justify your own anti-colonialist existence if you go and make colonies.
) that I couldn't acquire a colony? I think that I could easily convince powers like Austria-Hungary and Russia to support me using basic diplomacy. If I don't receive any colonies, then I will simply have to take them for myself, with or without Britain's approval.

And that bit about my own anti-colonialist existence... no, just, no. I don't have an anti-colonialist existence: Dom Pedro I (the father of our current Emperor) was the son of the John VI, King of Portugal. This means that they don't hate the Portuguese colonial system, that there really isn't any holdover hatred for the mother land, and there is not any ideological opposition to colonies.
Honestly, I can't imagine any real reason that I can't have a colony in Africa.

As multiple posts have proven, Russia and Austria-Hungary have both endeavored to get closer to me.
Then why are you independent? Or are you just a puppet of Portugal?
During the invasion of Portugal (1807), the Portuguese royal family fled to Brazil, establishing Rio de Janeiro as the de-facto capital of Portugal. This had the side effect of creating within Brazil many of the institutions required to exist as an independent state; most importantly, it freed Brazil to trade with other nations at will. After Napoleon's army was finally defeated in 1815, in order to maintain the capitol in Brazil and allay Brazilian fears of being returned to colonial status, King John IV of Portugal raised the de-jure status of Brazil to an equal, integral part of a United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and the Algarves, rather than a mere colony, a status which it enjoyed for the next seven years.
The official separation would only occur on September 22, 1822 in a letter written by Pedro to João VI. In it, Pedro still calls himself Prince Regent and his father is considered the King of the independent Brazil. On October 12, 1822, in the Field of Santana (later known as Field of the Acclamation) Prince Pedro was acclaimed Dom Pedro I, Constitutional Emperor and Perpetual Defender of Brazil. It was at the same time the beginning of Pedro's reign and also of the Empire of Brazil. However, the Emperor made it clear that although he accepted the emperorship, if João VI returned to Brazil he would step down from the throne in favor of his father.
The reason for the imperial title was that the title of king would symbolically mean a continuation of the Portuguese dynastic tradition and perhaps of the feared absolutism, while the title of emperor derived from popular acclamation as in Ancient Rome. On December 1, 1822 (anniversary of the acclamation of João IV, first King of the House of Braganza) Pedro I was crowned and consecrated.

Quite the contrary. I would rather see Russia take the some Gabon and Congo coasts. It has already voiced its intention to colonize. I would even support them from Guinea.
Also, Seljuq and I need to resolve this Djibouti issue.
I'm going to have to talk to Quendi about this then, cuz I reaaaaaaaly want an African colony.

Russia has no intention of colonizing Africa it has merely voiced an interest in who gets to colonize what. And in that regard I don't see Russia being particularly hostile to a Brazilian colony (though OOC'ly I might question the sensibility and plausibility of such a colony)

However, it's not about the land or the people or the money: it's about the prestige.
i cannot be considered a great power until I have a colony, and "colonies" in the Amazon just don't cut it.
