No need. I'll review the RPs you linked to in your app and consult with some of the other members. I'll let you know; patience is one of the greatest virtues you can have in this group.

Ethernia is a different story though, he/she entirely blocks the land from where I've made military movements to both Pav and V-land. If his/her people were already there before, I would have never even attempted going to those places. If I tried, I'd meet resistance wayyy before my intended destinations.

@ Minroz: Well, that's something the two of you will have to discuss. I'll turn over the authority to finalize his application to you.

@ Ethernia: When you moved north to invade Voerdeland, there were people there regardless; they just belonged to NPC nation(s). That being said, it is possible that he could have allowed your men to simply march through his lands, like the Sultan of Hatay did for the Nazis in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (though you'll probably need a bit more than a Rolls Royce to get permission for a whole, massive army). Of course, he may not be willing to do that, as it would implicate him as an enemy of Voerdeland and of the VAF. Or, possibly we could write in a brief military standoff between the two of you in which you eventually win over for free passage either out of intimidation or sheer force. This, of course, would leave him as an enemy of yours, maintaining only a tenuous, uneasy peace between the two of you, which one or both of you might not be willing to do. Also, he would have to be willing to be far weaker militarily than you for the latter suggestion. If he were simply a much smaller nation, it would be much easier to swing. His nation is far too big for me to accept it as-is right now, anyway.

I guessed that, but I assume they were mainly large tribes or loosely formed groups that would allow us to pass if we say, bribed them or whatever. We could bribe the Ethernians too, but the amount of resources that would be set aside for that would have probably made the advance towards V-land and Pav much more pointless since we'd have to deal with a whole nation (similar to your point for large army permission, etc.).

@Uneasy peace: Yeah, wouldn't want that. Plus, it would still conflict with movement (they would attack us on sight while we go our way to our destination).
@Weaker military: How weak? If a certain amount, they would likely been subject to threats by the other surrounding nations/may have joined pacts to defend themselves.
@Size: That's probably the best way to end this, just change the claim a bit.

I would have taken sea routes, but at the time, our navy was pretty shit. It's getting better, but we have to have prior planning and greater discretion in allocating our funds before we can really get a balance between the various branches of our armed forces. Aka, I need to get back to my self-RP... Dammit school!

@Min: If he comes up with a good explanation as to what he's been doing there, he can stay. "Good" is subjective... by my terms!

Wouldn't that just leave a blank strip of land between Ethernia, Minroz, Pav, and yourself? Why not simply make it a contested area, where it's mutually expected that no nation interferes with the movements of the other nations? Oh, there's diplomatic saber-rattling, but no nation actively desires war (especially when the army wouldn't be moving to attack their nation), and the Cyprumese/Xecuiian force isn't large enough to forcibly occupy Pav, thus upsetting the balance of power in Zhao.

Or just ask for temporary military access in order to move your troops through a very narrow land area, thus not proving an overwhelming threat to the nation in question. They'd be cautious, but given a speedy trip through, agreeable.

Large mountain ranges in a Middle Eastern-esque cultural region?

That would be central Promethia, in the area around Gratia and Novairia.

@Strip of land: I guess that's what "No man's land" between me and Pav was supposed to be. I like the idea though, but we'll need to get a map (I don't know the location of your supposed strip of land) and approval by the other folks involved.

EDIT: I know the strip is between us, but I'd like to see how you interpret it.

@ Uneasy peace: not necessarily. Uneasy peace would mean they wouldn't attack you as you passed through for fear of going to all-out war; they just don't like you. Basically the same as simple intimidation, but with bloodshed involved beforehand.

@ Weaker military: Weak enough to be intimidated by you for fear of being outright steamrolled. This may mean that they joined or started alliances against you at some point, but that's part of the game.

@ Size: It's too big in any case, but the smaller it is, the easier the problem is to work around.

@ Min: Like I said, it's your call right now. You have the authority in this case.

As in, there are something like three other nations who submitted applications for that same area.

We're working through them, and Fanaglia will begin adding the already accepted nations to the map shortly.

For those with lolhuge pops, please remember that we are far less interested in your statistical dickwaving than we are in your RP skills. My nation has a pop of about 60 or so million is 1910 and, if I do say so myself, I'm one of the most powerful nations in vapor. Please do not get caught up in the numbers.

Well, what he means is that it's claimed by another new nation that's tentatively accepted and who hasn't been added to the map yet because his claim is also too big.

But yeah, your claim is massively too big.

Most of the Imperialist nations are not particularly concerned with central Promethia. Unlike Afghanistan, it doesn't really occupy any strategic location. If you do end up in the area, you would most likely be dealing with Catholic zealots to your north, who are also in the mountains (been there for centuries), or Mishmahigian Christians to your far south, who aren't interventionists, for the most part.

That would be Fanaglia. She's an excellent map editor, and most of us suspect sorcery or devil-deals of some sort.
