His Excellency, the Sultan of Die Osmanen sees this civil war as the perfect opportunity to take back land ceded to the vile and putrid Nea Hellenes. He mobilizes 200,000 regulars, 100,000 bashi-bazouks, 50,000 janissaries, 300 bombards and 20,000 spahi cavalry in support of the rebellion. This force shall march westward to ravage the Anatolian coastline to eventually march up to the Bosporus and sack the capital of the Nea Hellenes.

The Grand Vizier is entrusted with a slightly smaller army of 70,000 bashi-bazouks, 100,000 regulars, 30,000 janissaries and 200 bombards to support the forces of Coele-Syria. May the regime of incompetent in-bred WA delegate of the region come to an end!

Constantinople 11: 53 PM January 18th

"TURKISH BASTARDS" cursed Nicephoros Phokas, commander of the City Watch. He had just delivered the letter of war from the Osmanreich. The damnable Ottomans had joined the rebels and were seeking to overthrow the WA's power. Enough was enough.

Regent Michalis Paleologus immediately called up a second levy, since 90,000 men had already marched to the west to deal with Sammelreich. Almost 350,000 men were supposedly marching from Egypt to Anatolia, and as a result Paleologus immediately sent notes and messages to all the remaining themes of the region, and to every possible barracks, depot, and levy zone. The 5,000 men of the White and Grey Companies had reached the city in hours, but more men were needed, so Theodoros Laskaris was sent to raise more men from the North. Ships were sent to the Bosphorus to hire more mercenaries from the region, and to get aid from the Russian City states. Meanwhile the 30,000 strong Acritic Forces mobilized on the border with the realtively undefended border of the Ankaran region of the Osmanreich, to form the tip of the spear. 8,000 Cretan archers were mobilized and sent to Smyrna. And from Macedonia, 20,000 Basilikon Agema troopers were sent to the East. 30,000 Armenians, Kurds and Georgians streamed to join the armies, filled with hate at their Osmanreich oppressors. The feudal land owners of Wallachia and Moldavia sent 20,000 lancers and foot archers, while 10,000 Italian Mercenaries were obtained via contract. Finally, the Urban City Watch was mobilized, as well as the levies of the Eastern Themes.

The Final Number of Men: 250,00 men, who while not professionals, were just as capable of fighting bravely under the command of Paleologus and Phokas, as well as the leadership of Ioannis Tzimices, and Rurik Ologevich commander of the Varangian Guard. Prince Stefan Razin commanded the allies, and Mistislav Romanovitch arrived with 20,000 Russian auxiliaries in tow. The army of the East was ready to strike back.

After 2 weeks of preperation, they marched into the Ankaran region.

Duke Leto smiled as the Atriedes banner was lifted on top of the Bastion of the Golan Heights. His me had surprised the border force and utterly annihilated them in a short, bloody fight, and now Coele Syria was open.

The Fremen scattered in groups to attack the villages and minor cities, while the main host proceeded down from the Golan Heights to find the Syrian Royal Army. Scouts reported that the Rashaf Army was close, and that the Floydian Brittanians were coming from the East. Now however, the ravaging and consolidation of Syria would begin.

The Anatolian countryside was teeming with armed Hellenes, as the Akrites finished burning down the last village. Tzimices frowned as he realized that something about this campaign was too easy. The Ottomans had placed all their military strength in Egypt, due to their relative vulnerability inside Asia Minor, so now although more than 600,000 men were being sent North, the Ottomans had neglected the defense of Ankara, leaving only 20,000 men as a garrison. Simply put, this campaign was less about battles than isolating Ankara and pillaging the country side. Tzimices had put strict orders on his men first, prohibiting the burning of mosques, hospitals and schools, and only burning down villages and foraging, after expelling the peasants of the land. The minor cities fell easily, surrendering without much resistance. Soon only Ankara, with its garrison of 20,000 professionals, plus over 10,000 millitiamen and volunteers stood in the way.

Ologevich recomended moving on to Syria, but Tzimices and Paleologus decided to lay siege to Ankara. Its defenders, under the valiant local emir and atabeg, swore to hold their posts to the last man.

Tzimices sent the White and Grey companies to fight any irregular and insurgent forces, while at the same time , sending a large force of men south, to deal with any suprise attacks.

Paleologus meanwhile sent a delegation to the local Kurd chieftans, in an effort to gain an alliance with them.

"Finally, now that Ultious has joined the Coalition, its people shall find peace and prosperity after so many years of horrific bloodshed and warfare. Today begins a new chapter for our Federation, one of brotherhood, and-"
"Sir?"
"Yes?"
"The Coalition is in a state of civil war. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers have been mobilized across Eurasia, and you are being asked to join a side."
"#@%$!"

Baron Ulrichslag's mustache curled in anger and surprise. "This is preposterous! We only declared the existence of our nation yesterday!" Minister Haupstrauss' mustache quivered, mostly due to the fact that it was extremely sensitive to the sound waves emanating from Ulrichslag's mouth. "Whatever the case, we must make a decision" Ulrichslag's mustache relaxed itself, as it was now time to think.

"Who's winning?"
"The Coalition, as it stands"
"Very well, we join them"
"There is something you should know. There are rumours of the rebels possessing a unit of...war penguins. Upwards of 100,000"

Ulrichslag's mustache rustled out of fear
"My god...these men would destroy us all"

After serious deliberations and heavy drinking, Ultious sends out the following forces:

5,000 Pike Infantry
5,000 Longbowmen
Colonel Hannes Schleef
First, to Ankara, in order to expedite the siege, and continue the campaign against the Turks

10,000 Halberdiers
Brigadier General Levin Hoffritz
To the Duchy of Sammelreich, rendezvousing with the forces of Hellas

Leaving 30,000 men to guard the Ultious homeland

In addition, in response to the dire threat of war penguins, Ultious has hastily assembled a unit of 5,000 Elite Walrusmen to have on call.

Ulrichslag prayed the rumours of penguins were false, for, if the walrusmen and penguins met on the battlefield, all of Eurasia would be left in ruins

The news of Die Osmanen siding with the rebels came with no surprise as it spread across the United Principalities. Upon hearing the news from his royal palace in the citadel of Canterlot, Grand Prince Alizarin of Khorasan belted out a hearty laughter as his ministers stared at him in confusion.

"Bah! Do these Turks think they can win with such a puny little force?! I fought against the Ottomans back during the War of the Grand Alliance, when I was only a minor cavalry officer. Although they are pulling the same tricks as they did years ago, they no longer face the wrath of the Khagans of days old. Now, they shall face the wrath of a reborn phoenix!"

After that histrionic outburst, Grand Prince Alizarin sent messengers throughout his lands, stretching from the seas of grass in the Northern borders to the ancient plains of the Indus in the east, to muster the finest army ever seen. This time, the Grand Prince decided to ride to battle himself, bringing along 5,000 members of the newly formed elite Equestrian Guard, the finest cavalrymen in the entire realm, 10,000 heavy infantrymen and 20,000 horse archers directly under his command. Along with him came his trusted generals. Duke Bahadur of Khwarezm marched into battle leading over 85,000 of his levies and bringing in 100,000 contracted Steppe tribesmen, bound to serve the United Principalities. The Duke was certainly a powerful force, as his horse breeders are unmatched, able to produce the strongest and fastest horses in all the Coalition. Duke Jahangir of Gandhara marched in with his infamous horde of 7,000 war elephants, infamous for the carnage left in the aftermath of battles fought, along with 10,000 levies, including the support of 3,000 local Kshatriya warriors and 2,000 infamous Indian longbowmen. Duke Ashot of Armenia even joined in with a force of 30,000 men, including 12,000 Armenian horsemen and 500 Onagers.

As this giant force marched out of the gates of Canterlot through the plains of Persia, along the ruins of the Royal Road built by the Achaemenid Empire, a future renovation project, Grand Prince Alizarin plotted the destination of this force to be Syria, to relieve the allies and to strike the Coele-Syrians in the heart of their country at Antioch. He knew that the Ottomans would strike his holdings in Arabia, especially in an attempt to retake Mecca and Medina, the Islamic holy cities, from the "Ponyist barbarians" that occupy it. This is going to be one hell of a fight, thought the Prince.

Archduke James is astounded by the sudden outburst of James LeLand.

"Guards! Seize him!" he shouts as armed pikemen move in and surround the general. They grab him and place him under custody.

"I know not what madness drove you to come here to my war room and I also know not what soldier let you in, but it was a mistake for you to come to a room FILLED with my men. I will treat you generously as my prisoner. You will be unable to lead troops or communicate with the outside world, but you will be able to live comfortably under the gracious care of my servants. Take him to the empty guest room in the palace towers... and keep a close eye on him."

OOC: I'm taking complete advantage of you running your greatest general into my war room. That wasn't a smart move.

"Prepare the men Sir Fotios. We will follow you're plan of action. We will strike soon and bring light to the darkness."

With a nod of agreement, Sir Fotios and the bannermen of the Archduke rushed out of the room to organize the large host that had been levied.

The forces of Nea Hellas continue to press west, as Basileus Stratikopoulos meets with the troops from Ultious in Austria, and continues in a force marched straight on, coming closer and closer into the Rhine land.

The Basileus was also infuriated beyond belief. Gen. Stone had idiotically allowed himself to be captured by the Enemy! Apparently, he had even walked into a meeting! Although his subterfuge skills were more than respectable, Stratikopoulos could not believe the man's lack of common sense. he had the sense of a 9- year old boy at times.

After reconnoitering with the newly settled people of Ultious, and befriending and accepting an oath of alliance from its King, Stratikopoulos pushed on. In the North, the forces of Floydian Brittania continued to press on. The decisive battle would be fought in the Rhinelands.

Duke Leto had met up with the men of the Sultanate of Rashaf. Duncan Idahon brought news that the Syrian field army of 30,000 men was marching south to the Golan heights. They seemed to be unaware of the odds stacked against them.

Leto began preperations for a battle, and he sent the Rashaf soldiers to a hidden ridge to the left flank, to encircle and destroy the Syrian forces should they have arrive.

The Atriedes army set up caltrops, trenches, spikes, and several wooden barricades, to prevent the Syrian cavalry from charging directly at his men. The Fremen were eager for a battle at last.

The great Kaiser Luthor and the Lord our Zod calls forward into their diabolical palace in the Phantom Zone; Baron Wonka, First-Lieutenant Admiral Arnold Judas Rimmer and Native American General/chief Red-Shirt. The three Kneel before Zod. "The rebels have been gathering more forces" Luthor bellows "Surely 8,000 is not enough". Zod's eyes set ablaze, " WHO HAS FAILED ME?! I demanded a force worthy of Lithuania-Prussia, and I got children instead!". Luthor looks at the three, "Where is my army?" he asks.

Red-Shirt delivers the news that the 8000 warriors have joined a newly arisen army of 120,000 men. 40,000 polish hussars. 30,000 Teutonic knights. 30,000 bowmen. 20,000 ompa-loompa slave warriors. This grand force had marched through Denmark conquering and pillaging, finding little opposition except for this one rather bothersome fly. Embarking on the holy crusade for Zod, the forces are led by General Hayden and General Cobblepot, they left Denmark to Norway where they are traveling now, both by land and sea.

Luthor and Zod were most pleased. Then Cheif Red-Shirt spontaneously combusted. This too also pleased Zod and Luthor.

The Tobias Senate's 50,000 crossbowmen climbed the walls of Sammelreich using ladders. The 30,000 berserkers and the 70,000 other soldiers were behind the berserkers. The soldiers used rams to break in and the berserkers went in first. They attacked and attacked with my other soldiers surrounding them. The 10,000 phalanxes got in and stood in a firm position so that no one can outsmart them. The archers, berserkers, and other soldiers started mass destruction.

Levin Hoffritz lifted his visor and took a deep breath. His halberdiers and the the forces of Hellas were fast approaching the Rhinelands. It would be a matter of time before they arrived at Sammelreich, and the great siege would begin. Until then, Hoffritz had other matters to consider. He had received word from the Basileus Stratikopoulos that General Leland of the Tobias Senate had been captured by the enemy following some strange outburst in the enemy's own war room. With the general in their possession, Sammelreich and the Inserrectionists had a powerful bargaining tool, and possible access to the military secrets of the Coalition.

Hoffritz had the.... pleasure of of serving with Leland, before Ultious was established, and when he was a mercenary hired by the Senate to aid in an attack on a bandit stronghold. Gen. Leland was a brilliant tactician, but he often let his passion (and liquor) get the better of him. In any case, one thing was certain; a rescue mission was in order. He decided approached the Basileus about his plan...

Upon hearing about the idiotic capture of Generalissimo James Leland of the Tobias Senate, Prince Alizarin could only respond with a solemn facepalm. “By Celestia’s mane! How is it possible for a war leader to march right into the heart of enemy territory and then proceed to expose himself to the enemy?!”

“Ah, no matter!” said Duke Bahadur of Khwarezm. “He was expendable anyways. Our main concern now regards the presence of multiple fronts in this Civil War. Now that the Ottomans have joined in the conflict, our allies fighting against the Coele-Syrian socialist bastards are doomed. We must no longer tarry and march there posthaste.”

“Ah ha ha! Whee! What a predicament!” cheerfully shouted Duke Ashot of Armenia. “So guys! Do you remember that earlier army of 123,500 sent under Prince Naram of Susa? Messangers have told me to relay to you that his forces have crossed the Bosporus right before the Ottomans joined in the war.”

“If that’s the case,” responded the Grand Prince, “then send a large sum of silver to the Emperor of Nea Hellas. We’re going to need to borrow his navy…”

Prefect Skantarios Laskaris looked at the note that Prince Naram of Susa had arrived near the Bosporus River. He had sent notice towards the city, to the Emperor begging for a navy to transport him to Sammelreich. That would surprise the rebel scum.
“I want Admiral John Doukas to take 300 Dromonds, and 100 Galleys and to load up the entire army!”
Courtiers bowed and messengers sent. The large army of the Principality would be embarked within two days, once all preparations had been made. The Prince would have a flagship to himself, with a prow carved in the likeness of an equestrian animal.
Beautiful ships were assembled, sails in the wind. Greek fire was stored, along with small bombard cannons.
Laskaris meanwhile strained to hear news of the siege of Ankara.
