The early morning sun rose high in the sky on the morning of the 932nd birthday of the arcadonisian Nation. Down the main streets of the ancient city, banners and arcadonisian flags that were hung on street lamps, storefronts and government buildings swayed gently in the cold and crisp morning breeze. The streets below swarmed with excited citizens preparing to celebrate the achievements of their great nation as they quickly assembled various floats decorated in blue and teal. Soldiers dressed in their ceremonial cloaks stood at attention, performing inspections to make sure that their form and appearance was spotless for the thousands of citizens and foreign visitors on this grand occasion.
The Royal Palace was buzzing with life and activity as servants slaved to make sure that the interior of the palace was decorated accordingly and appealing as possible, while second floor of the Palace was filled with decorators as they rushed to complete the finishing touches in the Ball Room, which would host the Frost Ball later that evening. The third floor was exceptionally quiet compared to the rest of the building, as it was home to King Alistar and his family. Alistar was the only one awake this early, as his husband and his newborn child were still sleeping. He smiled when he looked at them both, and quietly dressed to supervise the preparations going on below. "Good morning your Highness!" exclaimed servants as they passed him by with smiles on their faces. Although he disliked being held on such a high standard, he understood that they looked up to him as a role-model of sorts. He still thought of himself just like everyone else, no more or less. "Good morning Bridget, how are the decorations coming along?" Bridget wiped a strand of her bleach blonde hair from her face and smiled, pleased with her work. "Just fine, sir. All of the decorations are up and I think it makes the palace look absolutely stunning." Alistar chuckled and patted her shoulder. "It does look amazing, which is why I hired you for the job in the first place." She smiled and returned to her work, busily instructing servant on the placements of various decor items.
Alistar then walked through the halls to his office to see that transportation efforts for the foreign guests were arranged properly. It seemed that all was going to plan, and he was thrilled to meet the foreign leaders to have them stay in his prospering nation.
