I suppose. In this case though, it's the same engine as the T-64, although I think only having five cylinders is weird.

Diesel engines are hardly a Coal Rolling Smoke Generator. Most start up with a miniscule amount of smoke overall unless its cold out (Which is a issue with both diesel and gas) and engines that are newer designs than that leopards have sensors that eliminate any smoke on start up via variable timing from the ECM.

Fair point, but diesels are still better at least in my opinion for reasons such as the fact they they have closed the power density scale, are almost as multifuel, cheaper iirc etc.
At this point its just arguing semantics. No engine is going to smoke like that BMPV-64 unless something is seriously wrong, you cannot argue that.
