The white man came to South America for gold"
In other words, the European exploration was harsher in South America than in North America. While South America was compromised mostly of "exploitment colonies", North America was compromised mostly of "settler colonies".

maybe the French and the British were just better at colonizing then the Spanish and the Portuguese? I mean, most of North America was colonized by France and Britain while South America by the Spanish and the Portuguese. There was just something very wrong with the way the Spanish and the Portuguese colonized?

North America, particularly the parts where Europeans first started developing colonies, tended to be better suited to European-style farming with European produce and techniques; therefore there was interest in not just exploiting the resources of said region but also 'developing' it.
Contrast that to a broad swathe of South America, which sits in and around the equator and is pretty badly suited to European agriculture and you have a scenario where early colonial development centred mostly on exploitative operations rather than 'development', and that put South America 'behind' the rest of the Americas.

like fucking seriously dude. most of the countries in south america are capitalist and most of the ones that went socialist for anything more than a minute were murdered back into capitalism. you've just listed two countries (one of of which is fucking tiny) from the OFFICIAL OBAMA JIMMY RUSTLERS CLUB and pretended like you've made an actual point. how can they be the problem that south america has in a nusthell if most of the countries in south america are not anything like them and oh my god have i adressed your argument enough yet to call you a troll or just really really really really really bad at history, politics and possibly geography
.
