The Transoxthraxians had travelled for a long, long time. They had travelled from the land of the Slavs through the land of the Germans and Celts. Now, however, after a century and a half of migration, the Transoxthraxians had nearly reached their goal. By now, they had passed onto the third chieftain since their departure from the Baltic. Numbered in the high ten thousands, the Transoxthraxians formed a giant cloud of migrating horses and people that stretched for miles long and wide, kicking up dust and snow and dirt where they went. They passed through the territory of the Germans with relative ease, still having not made contact with the Germanic civilizations, such as Belgica.

The third in the line of Chieftains which had been created by the usurper general Dirgudas was named Agaidikas, which translated to the Gift of God. He was the one that led his people through the land of teh Germans following his father's death shortly after reaching the Alps. He didn't allow his people to stop, ever. Nearly three generations of people had passed away since the Transoxthraxians had a true homeland. While the people were getting weary, Agaidikas knew that his journey would soon come to an end. He was young, and full of life. His people were not. Despite being people of the steppe, people of the horse, and people of tbe bow, they were becoming tired of the continual nomadic life, despite their traditions. Transoxthraxians no longer knew a settled lifestyle. They knew how to raid, how to plunder, and how to steal food, but not grow it for themselves. But Agaidikas planned to teach them once he reached his destination.

It would be another thirteen years before Agaidikas reached the shores predicted by his predecessor's advisor. He had done so the previous morning, but had been too exhausted to make any official proclamation. The morning after he arrived, he gathered all his important nobles and warrior-chiefs. Standing atop a large stone, atop the high shores of what would later become the capital of the nation, on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean in Aquitaine, Agaidikas spoke. In front of him lay the thirty most important people within the domain of the Transoxthraxians. What he would say would later be recorded in the Kyzikas Gulmodas, or book of the Chiefs. "My fellow comrades, we have been birthed by the Drowned God, and preserved by the Good God. What has once been destroyed, has now been redeemed. I present to you, what my father and father before him seeked. I present to you, my dear vassals, the shores in which the Good God's presence upon this plane of existence meets the Drowned God each night, the place in which my father's father's predecessor was told about in a divine revelation to his High Seer. My people, we are no longer cursed. Go, and be free, to walk and ride the land as if it was yours, as if it was your ancestors, as it now is, blessed by the Good God, and desired by the Drowned God, and all the watchmen, the forests, and mountains, and hills, and stones, and rain. I proclaim this land to be Transoxthraxian, forever and always!"

It would be a month after the speech in which the Transoxthraxian resettlement was complete. It took a short war with the native Aquitanians, a mix of Celtic and Iberian cultures, to finally stake a place in the valuable land. The resettlement was forceful, with Transoxthraxian warrior castes forcing the Ibero-Aquitanians out of their native lands, and dividing it amongst the Transoxthraxian Tribal Castes which had been formed. The southernmost lands went to the Xaxonites, and the central parts of the land were given to the Zyravanites. The northernmost part of the land, in which the city of Vounomethea, capital city of the new Transoxthraxian land was being built, belonged to the crown of the Transoxthraxians. The final, and perhaps largest Caste, however, received no land. Upset by this, the leader of this caste, who were known as the Zyrvanites, Dolgordos, performed a campaign against the Gauls in the east, pushing them further eastwards, and establishing a land for him and his warrior caste, leaving Transoxthraxian lands to appear like so. The Transoxthraxian war tactics relied heavily on an all-cavalry force, which devastated their enemies by, not dissimilar to the Avars, Huns, or Mongols, by showering arrows upon them from horseback before retreating again. Different from the aforementioned steppe people, however, was the fact that the Transoxthraxians also held an elite type of Heavy Cavalry armed with spears and curved swords, known as the Falcata, which were developed during the campaign against the Ibero-Aquitanians.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Rylonia had just started a policy of tribute towards her allies. All Rylonia's allies and vassals now had to give up a small tax to the Impirren. While this did annoy many of the neighboring nations, it did give Rylonia many more resources to utilize in her development. Though it wasn't much of a tax! The biggest tribute was copper. Copper was used for currency in Rylonia and most of the nations it controlled, being made into square coins with a circular hole in the middle. The hole was used to string hundreds of the coins together, each string was a common form of payment. Copper too was used for bronzemaking. Bronze was used for ceremonial and religious cauldrons or bowls, and iron hadn't yet full replaced bronze in everyday tools. Other forms of tribute were used after their copper too. The south gave silk and cotton, along with rice and tropical woods for Rylonia's industries. The north gave the Impirren horses, wood, wheat, and lots of iron ore. While the west payed in extra copper, wheat, stone and marble, and dried meat. With these raw materials, Rynatoo and the other large cities grew into industrial powerhouses. Already Rynatoo and it's surrounding farms and villages had almost a hundred thousand people in them. So many people immigrated, intact, that new land was settled to the north. Dozens of villages were set up but they eventually merged into one large urban area. This city mined ore from the hills and chopped trees from the forests.

With these new allies to protect, Rylonia's military kept advancing. Known for a long time, the crossbow was starting to be used in the army. While not capable of firing as far as normal composite bows, they were easily equipped to a militia as they required little training to use. Just load, pull, and fire! While this was going on, more and more of the border governors were being continually impressed by the mobility of the barbarian horsemen. While chariots were cheap and easy to use, the agility allowed by having true cavalry led many of the Rylonian armies to be made up of cavalry. Plus, one man riding one horse gave a special advantage. The south was riddled with hills and forests, making it nearly impossible to fight with chariots. But cavalry could swing inbetween trees and over rocks without fear. Thus, training of cavalrymen increased. But with all her tributary provinces, Rylonia's military was slightly overextended. So RyRy ordered the construction of a road system that would connect Rylonia proper and all her empire. These roads all ended in Rynatoo, and at least every ten miles a paved road met the border. These roads took over two decades to complete, but they allowed quick travel across the land. It took only three days to travel from Rynatoo to the tributary state of Asignon! Over twenty thousand men worked on these roads, but they had paid off! Many of the nations vassalized a century ago were beginning to be integrated into Rylonia proper. These included the three northern kingdoms and six tiny western and southern nations. Rylonia was dominating her region, and her borders evolving.

The other elder nodded left.
Mordiu sat down next to the hourglasses. There were 3 of them. One for measuring days, the other 2 for measuring harkback minutes and hours.
The harkback took great effort to calibrate these devices. At first they were very inaccurate, but eventually they managed to put the nearly perfect amount of fine sand into the hourglasses.
There was also a tank filled with water. There was a tap on its side from which a drop of water fell every harkback second. This was useful to the elders when they were about to flip the hourglasses.
The harkback cultists were obsessed with the concept of time. The elders spent may hours thinking
about the nature of time during their service in the clocktower. Occasionally, they forgot to turn the hourglass and operate the clock at the end of a minute, but interestingly, this never caused any trouble.
This day however, Mordiu was very tired. He couldn't get a good night's sleep after yesterday's concert. It was a good concert, but it was very long... so he fell asleep a few minutes after he took his post...

...When Mordiu woke up, Everything was silent. The hourglasses have all run their time, except for the one which measured days. It still had a little sand in the top jar.
The air inside was difficult to breath, so he opened the window.
Outside... It was completely dark. He took his lantern and walked down the stairs...

Safi, Morocco, Itilician Republic
Sikarbaal smiled inwardly, watching the peasents bring their bountiful harvests into the city. It was a bountiful season, all across Morocco the fields had been blessed by the Gods, and the people enjoyed an overabundance of food.
He watched as vendors sold their meats to the masses. Fish was particular the food for choice, as there was more than the more expensive beef, pork and lamb. However, the more upper class of the city would purchase all the meat they could. Sikarbaal walked over to a stall himself, purchasing some fish and beef, his preferred meats. After paying he walked off and back to his home, for today he dined like a God, and true, all across Morocco even the poorest could do this.

Gibraltar, Itilican Republic
As the Senators had decreed, the harbour of the city was to be extended across a larger portion of the bay. A great task this was indeed, but with the greatest architects in the Mediterranean it could be accomplished. Resources were collected, locations set and builders instructed. The harbour of Gibraltar would become a powerhouse, a powerhouse of the naval trade.

Makakai city:
From its small beginnings, the Makakai buffalo-keeping project had grown exponentially over the past century. After the city's hunters had managed to keep the three calves alive through that first year, the next several hunting seasons they trapped more, and by carefully breeding from the least temperamental and intractable animals, they had managed to create a small herd of halfway-manageable animals.
Of course, "halfway-manageable" was a relative term. The creatures were still unpredictable and not something just any one of the People could approach with impunity, but they were far less aggressive than their fully wild forebears. They looked a little different, too, with a growing tendency toward a mottled dark-and-light hide pattern. Tantana Buffalo Mother seemed to be blessing their efforts, and to the resulting easy meat was added the possibility of buffalo milk to drink, and perhaps eventually an animal steady enough to pull a travois.

Chomisaya:
Most of the pilgrims who had come to work on the sacred Horned Serpent Mound had returned to their home cities after its completion, but a large number had stayed, swelling the city's population beyond the land's ability to sustainably support them. As hunger began to afflict the poorest, many began to look upstream along the Ohaya River to the fertile lands there. A trickle of people began to migrate into the Ohaya valley and farm the lands there, clearing the forests with stone and bronze axes and with controlled fires in order to plant their maize, their beans and their squashes. After half a century or so, there was a chain of towns along both banks of the Ohaya, most of which followed the cult of the Horned Serpent.

Wokan:

Kalakmul, Hokam of Wokan, had heard of the Horned Serpent Mound of Chomisaya. A devotee himself of Hoquiyah Thunder Bird, it offended him on a deep level that Kakawiyt should have such a great mounment but that the Great Thunder Bird should not.
"Let the devotees of Hoquiyah come here to Wokan," he decreed, "and let us build a great monument to Thunder Bird! My people will start the work this day!"

It of course took several quarters of the moon-cycle to get everyone organised, but that was how you spoke as a Hokam. And so the work began on a great earthwork in the shape of Hoquiyah's totem, the eagle.

Outpost, west of Skaðis

The men called to arms as the approaching settlers had been making claim to the mountains, these were claimed as the people of Himmel had believed Wayland the Smith had created this mountains to hold his ore. Lately after Skaðis had over 100,000 people residing within the space the economic forces of both Himmel and Latium had been mining the nearby ranges. The kingdom of Belie recently tried to make claims to these mountains and go through to Austria but King Boris would not let this happen. A messenger from Skaðis mounted his horse and rode as fast as he could off into the country side to the approaching settlers of Belie's camp. "Oi, turn back as this is the lands of Himmel and Latium! This is a fair warning, if you do not turn back King Boris has authorized force be used if necessary. You shall have the wrath of the Northern Union if you do retreat with haste" the messenger stood tall on his horse as he yelled.

Due to pressure from Rylonian governors, many of the vassals and tributary states to the Impirrenship were beginning to be absorbed fully. Those already integrated included the northern  kingdoms and their massive sources of metals and timber, and the southern states, allowing Rylonia access to even more fertile lands. The administration, to tighten their grip on already integrated vassals, increased the tribte to near normal tax levels. Thus the vassals had no choice but to give up materials, that way it wasn't too much of a shock when they became part of the empire. Already, eight million people were in the empire, and two million more in the tributary states. This manpower allowed the Impirrenship and her vassals to dominate Eastern Asia. Korea, Japan, even some of Vietnam was feeling the Rylonian influence, and they wielded their control carefully. RyRy made sure not to anger too many states and to keep at least a few powerful allies at all times. Mainly in Japan, which, by the way, was starting to be settled by small amounts of Rylonian settlers. Only the smaller southen island was really being colonized, but it was enough to support a naval base. The Rylonian navy was being built too, as trade became a vital part of the growing nation. If RyRy was to unite China he would need a massive backbone of supplies and long-distance vessels. Rylonia had "stolen" some ship ideas from the Phillipines and their boats. But the vessel that would serve as the backbone of the Rylonian armada for centuries to come was the "carris". This ocean going warship was big. Very big, it's cotton sails and two teams of oarsmen let it fly along the water. It's fortified towers allowed archers and crossbowmen to bombard enemy craft. The vessel was put to use in the Asignon Conflict, where eighteen of the ships were used to block the harbor of Asignon, the largest city and harbor in the state of Asignon. The conflict was short, and Asignon then became completely annexed by Rylonia.  The bountiful harvests recently had spurred new growth in the empire. Over two thousand were employed in the silk industry, and another three thousand in the shipbuilding complexes. Rylonia was experiencing massive urbanization with the advent of iron tools and more efficient agricultural techniques, thus allowing for more artisans and craftsmen, and giving Rylonia the leading edge in the economic scene.

The people of were in uproar, they smashed every door of the senate building. Prefect buildings were set alight by a mob of angry plebs and I hear why you ask, Sextus Amelius Varro asked the same thing. It was because of the Beliean incursions of The Alpine regions of Latium and Dalria. This was a major problem indeed, and the senate were debating furiously whether to declare war or to sit on the sidelines as Himmel and Belie battle it out. Sextus was having none of the latter, and his sway with the public allowed him to declare war on Equalium.

The I, IV and VI legions had been getting their war legs on in a 6 week trek through the alps to reinforce the town of Skaðis while the VII, II, III and the V legions stood guard in forts around the borders of Latium. Sextus personally led the legions in the Alps while the Italian legions were headed by his political rival and all-round big head, Junius Frissius. The senate, meanwhile, sent an ultimatum to The Kingdom Belie, requesting that they leave the Alps and their dreams of conquering Austria behind immediately; or face a long war which will kill millions. The choice is theirs.

Porto, Iberia

After many years of consolidation, the Age of Silence as it was coming to be called in the scattered cities of Mara, now new blood had come to the throne of Mara, blood that craved more land for the growing populations of Iberia and its many disparate polises. Here on the western coasts of the Endless Ocean lay lands that were all but uninhabited, despite their rich fishing grounds and other such parts of great interest to the slowly southward migrating Ameralites. The new polis of Porto was just one such example; established where a fine sparkling river ran into the salty depths of the Endless, it would soon prosper on the trade coming down the watery thoroughfare. Some old tribes had had to be cleared away. Most had either perished or fled, but a few had seen the changing of the wind and trimmed their sails to fit the oncoming breeze.

Nantes, Marpolis of Nantes, Majpolis of Nantes

At long last the people of the Way had come to a land, flowing with milk and honey. Here they settled, where they could be free of the preconceptions of their fellows and the influences of the pagan civilizations. Together the followers of the Light labored, and they would raise a mighty city to rival the metropolises of the east in this new region. From the woodlands to the east they sent parties of the hardy men that had survived the journey to bring timbers for the labor to come. It would take years, and much hard work, but with time before the gaze of the All-Sire they would make an edifice to be proud of.

Tanta, Alexandria

For centuries the little Principality of Alexandria had stood at the mouths of the Nile, charging tolls on the river traffic from the rich polises of Vernus. In the last two dynasties the Alexandrians had grown soft, lazy, decadent. Rich and complacent, their depravity was a perfect opportunity for the many vying polises of the east. Into the outlying towns they marched, many thousands strong in a great coalition.
Quite the unofficial fellow. Former P2TM Mentor specializing in faction and nation RPs, as well as RPGs. Always happy to help.

...When Mordiu got outside, he noticed something strange... motionless rain drops, suspended mid air. He could catch them in his hands, even swallow them. Than, he saw Brother Myrthos. He was the elder who operated the clock before him. He was standing still, or more like... walking still. The other people were motionless too. Than, he noticed a little girl who was about to get hit by a wooden log falling from nearby construction site. He took the wooden log and placed it on the ground, saving the girls life. He was wondering what would happen if he touched someone. He walked back to Brother Myrthos and gave him a friendly hug... Nothing. Mordiu was deeply puzzled... Could have time stopped? he thought to himself...

Wokan, southern Makakai territory:

The Eagle Mound of Wokan, as it was being called, was considerably smaller than the Horned Serpent Mound of Chomisaya. However, it had other features to make it unique and special.

The most significant feature was that it was aligned so that the head of the Mound pointed directly to the rising of the great star grouping called the Thunder Bird <OOC: Ophiuchus, Serpens and Scutum> as it rose in the spring.

Thunder Bird was a big group of stars, and it took several moons to ascend completely above the horizon, but the head of the Mound was aligned with the first point of its ascension, the four stars called the Wingtip.

The wings of the Mound circled forward to align visually with the head and tail of Thunder Bird as he rose into the spring sky, as seen from the vantage point of the Mound eagle's heart where a sacrificial platform was set. This sacred geometry was the subject of much discussion and planning by the shaman-priest devotees of Hoquiyah, and now that it was complete, the effect was suitably impressive. On the first day of the mid-spring moon, as the Wingtip first became visible, the Eagle's head stood under it, outlined by a ring of Thunder Bird's followers with torches.

Chomisaya, northern Makakai territory:

A runner came bolting into the city from the north. "Northern lands... in flames..." he panted. "Ilanoi... revolt! Even the Wabash!"

Hokam Nahakan boiled with anger. "Assemble the warriors! Send runners to the other cities!"

The armies of Himmel had met with the legions of Latium with warm arms, the soldiers on both sides shared stories and weapons as they bashed the hard headed Beliens who the messenger had contacted. The men waited anxiously as the people cheered and waved on their fellow soldiers. Even with the drinking and partying the soldiers enjoyed they were always on guard. The soldiers walked The Bulwark, the large stone walls protecting the town from snow storms, and patrolled the trails in the mountains.

As Gregory was a smart man his armies were made up of far away tribes on the borders that did not hold the nationalism native Himmelans held. He had already started to make claims of lands with the various generals on the western front, he would profit from the war then take the throne.

(OOC:This is my first post revolving around the condition of the civilization as a whole! With my new colony and random events it seems only logical.)

City of Harappa

Devastation had struck the city. Most of the coastal area was flooded or destroyed due to the evil many people had nicknamed The Dark-Water Event. A large wave, larger than any seen before, had crashed into the beach line and into the Indus Valley. After the collision, when many were trying to wrap their heads over the loss of life, a flood raised from the sea washed away the remains of the wave and soaked the remaining buildings. Many soldiers were sent from the barracks from the edge of the city to the southern colony of Tiruvana, as native revolts rocked the area. It was a dark time for the Valley. The remaining were to resume the rebuilding process on the stores and docks destroyed. Many people started to fear the water. In the years following, people built their houses higher on land and started the construction of a temple to the Dark-Water god, Varuna (OOC: Intro into Hinduism, guys!).

City of Tiruvana, two days after The Dark-Water Event

The wooden terraces, so carefully crafted, were burnt to the ground. This was only the beginning of the destruction that was the natives I the area. The natives felt that they were being stolen from, their land taken by the northerners. Although the civilization's bronze weapons were superior, the native's numbers gave them a very large advantage. So that day, they attacked the city-province of Tiruvana. The terraces were the first to go. The confused battalion of Indian guards scrambled for cover. The natives took flame to the palace, and very soon flames were shooting from every side of the building. The guards suddenly organized themselves as one and attacked as a flank. The natives retreated to their tribes. The guards may have won, but they now were surrounded by a husk of a city. They would have their revenge.

City of Tiruvana, three months later

The palace was well on its way to completion. Not as grand as before, but it still towered over the 2-story buildings that were the city itself. The houses favored stone, rather than wood, so the houses weren't as susceptible to burn. The leader of the Indian force struck the natives, hard. It was the only thing they could do. The hatred boiled over. The battle resembled a slaughter. They killed every last tribesman in the area. The Indus valley had degraded from peace to genocide. To repel any further attack, the Indians built a 4-foot stone wall around the city.

Since their arrival in Aquitaine, which would soon become known to the world as Transoxthraxia, the Transoxthraxians had been living the life they had when they had lived in the Baltic. They lived as nomads, never having sedentary living spaces, and raiding other, outside sources for food and tribute. The warrior clans had separated the country into many different sections, but now a new clan had risen to prominence. Calling themselves the Xyonites, who were patrilineally descended from the general Durgudas. In Transoxthraxian, Xyonas meant Proud, so a Xyonite was one who was proud. Not content being a landless clan, they moved quickly to occupy other land. To the south-east of the Transoxthraxians lay a tribe that lived in between the Latin Confederacy, of which the Transoxthraxians had not discovered yet, and the Pyrenees mountains. This tribe was of Gallic descent, and fierce warriors. However, like their brothers that had occupied Aquitaine, they had no real defense against the Transoxthraxian tactic of war which included skirmishing tactics of massively combined barrages by Transoxthraxian horsemen. Within a decade, the Gallic Tribe, who called themselves the Volcae, had been defeated by the Transoxthraxians. Rather than forcefully relocating them like the other clans had done, the Xyonites instead enslaved the women and children and systematically executed the men. Those that survived fled eastwards, into the Alps. The Xyonites soon became known for their fierce raids, often raiding into Latin territory to the east to gain food and tribute.

As the Xyonites were busy slaughtering Gauls, one night, a massive star came dashing across the sky, and, as one warlord remarked, the night will be remembered by poets for generations to come, a massive meteorite landed off the shores of Bordeaux, where the new, and only, sededntary Transoxthraxian settlement was being created, Vounomethea. It was said by many to be an omen, as it crossed the black sky. The God of Chaos was sending the Transoxthraxians a messenger. The Archwarlord stood by his tent at the dead of night when the meteor hit the ocean. It caused massive waves, and upset the Drowned God. He knew, as did his seer, that this was no messenger, but another Demi-God sent down to the Drowned God as tribute, to keep the Drowned God submissive.

Updated map.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Ohio river valley:

The Makakai paddled their hide canoes up the river once more. Not content with reclaiming their ancestral hunting lands between the upper Misasip and Wabash rivers, the Ilanoi had also started raiding the settlements along the Ohaya. The Misasip would punish them for their presumption.

Warriors were here from all the main cities of the north: Chomisaya leading, the ancestral city Makakai itself right with them, Tantahokeh, Kiwakan, Chala and all the rest. Warriors from the southern lands were fewer: Wokan only sent a token force, Wakis none at all, Lulakawi and Machise a few hundred between them. Perhaps they would come later. It was a long way, after all.

The massive war party crossed the Ohaya into Ilanoi lands and fell on the Ilanoi villages and encampments of the valley. The Ilanoi of these parts, along the fertile river-valley, were only semi-nomadic, farming almost as much as they hunted and softer than the harsh tribes of the interior. Makakai surprise was complete; the Ilanoi had become used to thinking of their enemy as merely soft farmers, and had felt safe in their own lands. The slaughter was total.

The Ohaya valley would be safely in Makakai hands once more, for the moment, but the lands between the Wabash and the upper Misasip remained Ilanoi.

Another, almost unnoticed effect of the wars with the Ilanoi was the beginnings of a transformation of the Makakai territories from a loose alliance of city-states into a true imperial domain, with a northern centre of power at Chomisaya and a southern centre of power at Wokan.

Oran, the Itilican Republic
Fighting had ensued in the city streets, as Itilican Soldiers and Pro-Itilican Civilians engaged rebellious natives, who needed to be taught their place. From the ships in harbour, Itilican Sailors had left their mighty ships and had joined their comrades on land in fighting off these creatures. Captain Eshmounhilles, rallied his men and led them into a counterattack. Swords clashed with swords, man fought man in the combat that ensued. Heavy casualties had hit both sides as the fighting continued throughout the day, buildings burned and stalls were destroyed but the fighting continued. Eshmounhilles himself had been wounded in the fighting, but refused to be carried off the field of battle and instead fought to rebellions were far from over. The city would be repaired first and then, with the reinforcements that had been called from Algiers, a counteroffensive would be carried out. Many Itilican Soldiers had fallen today and they would be avenged.

Safi, the Itilican Republic
Unlike the city of Oran, Safi had been spared the severe damage done to it. Simply because not many natives had inhabited the region before the Itilicans had arrived. Nonetheless, these people did not enjoy the nature of the Itilican rulers and had risen up in defiance. Captain Yada'milk's his last breathe before being dispatched by a volley of arrows. As the day turned to night, the rebellious natives were forced to retreat, but these first priority had been to protect the Senate Buildings, but soon had left the guards of the building to that and had sent his men down to protect the civilians from the Berber natives. Yada'milk lunged forward, stabbing his shortsword into the chest of the larger Berber man, causing him to fall with a might thud. His men, clad in Bronze, engaged the Berbers as well and had managed to push them out of the city. No quarter would be given, and the rebellious Berbers were hunted down. This may have not stopped any future rebellions, but it would most likely send a message out.

Cordoba, the Itilican Republic
Bronze equipped infantry lined up in the streets, speared pointed towards the natives as they advanced. Captain Patibaal raised his sword, then pointed it towards the Iberian Natives. "Fire!" he called, and soon arrows, stones and corpses littered the battlefield. "Fire!" he called again and the archers pulled back their bows and the slingers slung their slings. The natives however, raised their shields. This however, did not protect all of them, as stones and arrows smashed through some of the shields, killing the wielders. The soldiers took this advantaged and broke formation, charging headfirst with their spears and swords into the enemy lines. Iberian Archers took their turn and began peppering the Itilican Lines with arrows, killing a few dozen in repeated volleys. Patibaal took the chance, and ordered his ranged units to fire on the Native archers and soon, the natives did the same, casualties arising on both sides. The day stretched on and by the end, corpses filled the streets but the Itilicans had won the day, any survivors of the rebellious natives were captured and hanged the following day, for their defiance of the Itilican Overlords.

Huelva, the Itilican Republic
The city built on two rivers, as it was called, burned. Many civilians fled in terror as the Itilican Soldiers attempted to hold of the swarms of Natives. The defence was holding, strong, but many soldiers had been diverted into escorting civilians to ships until the rebellion was put down. Captain Bodashtart swung his club forward, crushing the skull of one of the Iberians. He did not care much for honour, he just knew his people were going to be killed and would massacre man, woman and child of these natives to protect them. In a strategic counterattack, as the city of Huelva held, he had dispatched groups of men towards known camps of these natives and they had been torched and their inhabitants massacred. That had, in effect, made several of the tribal leaders recall their forces to deal with the threat, leaving both Itilicans and the Iberians with equally sized forces. The battle lasted throughout the day and Huelva burned, but in the end, the Itilicans emerged victorious through the bloodshed and gore and Huelva stood defiant among the land for it would be rebuilt.

Gibraltar, Itilica
With the recent rebellions, the current Senators looked worried at the situation. And so, had decided to pass an act that entitled all beings within Itilican Cities to be treated as equals. The news, was spread out towards the colonial leaders and it would hopefully show a nicer side to the Itilicans and cease the bloodshed.

~ The Kingdom of Belgica ~

Queen Femke II died of a sudden illness about 16 years ago. In her steed, her daughter, Femke III had took the throne of the Belgicans. For many years, the Germanic kingdom grew into prosperity as the Belgicans begun to slowly grow their cities. However recently, The conquests that the Belgicans had in Femke II's attempt to create a huge path towards the Savars as rumored had all fallen to Barbarian tribes, thus beating back the Belgicans towards the areas they used to hold before entering the Alps. Queen Femke III had decided to instead take on the roots that her mother tried, decided to instead go and take more of the local areas near the Kingdom, such as unifying the Lowlands. Attacking to the Northeast, the Belgicans had finally manage to take apart of the Nedarlands (Netherlands) and crowned it to become apart of the empire. As new settlements had grown in the Nedarlands in the past 10 years of conquest, the Barbarians around the area had begun to settle down in the borders, and slowly became apart of the Belgicans. The Norse Religion was still extremely popular, and the Germanic Kingdom fell to it as it's official religion. Femke III claimed herself to be a follower of Freyja, and claimed her mother had the "Spirit of Freyja".

However, there was that other half of the harbor that they had discovered, they were not alone at all... The banners across the way that local guards saw after patrolling from the city of Yantwepert (Amsterdam) were pretty different...

Sicani holdings on the Black Sea

"Men, the horde have arrived! Ready your bows, your slings, your axes and spears. By their days end your weapon arm will ache from over use!" The general atop the battlements yelled to the garrison of the city. They generals name was Yipsis and he was the man that had led the original expedition to these lands so in a way he always knew this would happen, not all the local tribes had been entirely thrilled when the Sicani had conquered the pirating nation. Some of them of course had been some what pleased they were gone, in fact members of the Synacsos and kanik were there, standing in their own battalions (if you could call them that) on the wall.
The battle would be hard won, but won all the same; the slingers, javlinmen and archers caused utter disarray in the native ranks and the ones that did manage to get to the walls, put the ladders up, and then get on the wall wereslpwly pushed right back over again, even despite a couple 100 of them getting over where no one was actually standing.

Again more to come :L

"Barbarians!" The lookout screamed. Another raid on the wall, it had seemed. The towns and cities on the border had spent nearly all of their resources on defence since their birth. It looked like a small cavalry force. Maybe a hundred? Two? The men readied their bows and spears. This was a large town, it had a stone wall as opposed to a earthen one, and generally horses weren't as good at siege warfare. So the town count wasn't terrbily worried.
"There, there are thousands of them!" An officer said. "Tell the count! Now!" He told a soldier. The man took off, running to the count's mansion. A massiv battle took place at the wall. Thousands of arrows flew every hour, and spearmen stood their ground against the onslaught of horses and arrows. This was the first large battle where crossbows had been used. They were handed to all the men and were given ten minutes of training. In the end it was a victory for Rylonia, but not a terribly good one. While only three hundred civlians had been killed, over ten thousand professional troops lay dead at the end of two days. But the other northern towns weren't so lucky. Many of the small villages were destroyed fighting against a hundred swift cavalrymen. For eighteen days the battles were lost. Until the massive armies of the Central-Southern regions finally came to reinforce the cities. The vassals also contributed, and after two months, the scales had tipped in Rylonia's favor. It was a terrible back-and-forth war, with one month being good for the nomads and another for Rylonia. Eventually they were pushed back, although it took sixteen years of hard fighting, some horsemen even made it to the capital! This was the reason RyRy started the construction of the wall. This barrier would be a large earth and stone wall that connected the ones already built. It would take nearly a century to complete, and many workers would die, but it would protect the empire from the terrible nomads.

Northern Gaul

The armies had been waiting for years based in Gaul only cut off by the Belgica forces who had left the area under fear from the Union. Even as they had been self sufficient the men still remained loyal as several officers came from the homeland to asses the situation. They men had mobilized with over 2000 troops who marched through N. Gaul. They had hit the fortress that was a meaningless 500 Gaul troops who had been off guard since the troops had been inactive. The fort was taken quick with less then one hundred troops laying dead on the Himmelan side. They marched deeper into the country side loosing more men to disease then warfare as over four hundred men perished. Following the army were opportunist; Orators looking for apostles to convert, lords seeking new land to settle, merchants looking for more resources, and slavers looking to bring hundreds back to Himmel. This was the flocking new land that was going to be the rough draft of the Northern Unions co-gov't plot, as the troops raced to glory.

occ: Sas we should take this to the warfare thread and have a unified Gaul army spring up in the heart of Gaul to push us back. It's only been easy because the forces have been retreating for a counter-strike.
