No, no. It's cool. If you're interested in the RP, just TG me an example of your RPing skills and I'll see if you're worthy. :}

Somewhat. That's in my nation history. I don't uphold the first two as much in my IC present, thanks to moderate government, so I'd expect some tension between our girls. :p

My app is finally up :3

Nation Name (Official): The Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki
National Air Force(s) participating: Auroral Horizon Air Self-Defence Force
No. of Participants: 75 (inclusive supporting staff)
Reasons for participating:
  • Analysing the military capabilities of foreign powers and subsequently upgrading Mizuyukian forces as required.
  • Encouraging bilateral relations with the country of Baltland.

ORBAT:
  • 1st Kagebōshi Elite Fighter Wing
    • 1 F-35 Lightning II
    • 3 Mitsubishi F-15J Kai
    • 2 Chengdu J-20
    • 3 Mitsubishi F-2
    • 1 F-15 Eagle
  • 11th Auroral Horizon Mechanised Flight Division
Characters:
  • 1st Kageboushi Elite Fighter Wing
    • Lieutenant General Celestia Knightsbridge セレスティア ナイツブリッジ (将)
      Factbook Entry
      • Colonel Kirigiri Asuka 霧切 飛鳥 (1佐)
      • Major Maizono Kanae 舞園 香苗 (3佐)
Maizono Kanae is one of the most outstanding officers in the Auroral Air Self-Defence Force, which led her to be assigned to the most prestigious division in the force – the 1st Kageboushi Elite Fighter Wing. In top condition both physically and mentally, she is an excellent all-rounder that is capable of performing to the highest standards both on the battlefield and off it. One of a select few to be personally recruited to Lieutenant General Celestia Knightsbridge’s elite wing by Commander Tachibana Kaede, Maizono is renowned within the force for her physical fortitude and seemingly inexhaustible energy – once managing to complete a particularly nasty drill set by Knightsbridge, the only officer who did so successfully.

Maizono’s personality is generally cheerful and happy-go-lucky – she has also been known to get into trouble with her commanding officers due to her antics. She has a lot of friends within the force due to her friendly and charismatic nature, and they are usually convenient targets for Maizono’s occasional prank – things like slipping fake snakes under a fellow officer’s bed and squirting milk up some poor soul’s nose. An incorrigible prankster and extrovert, Maizono is outgoing, warm and always ready to laugh – a combination which makes her one of the most popular officers among the ranks.
      • First Lieutenant Hoshii Tsukasa 星井 詞 (2尉)
      • First Lieutenant Ikezaki Satsuki 池崎 皐月 (2尉)
      • Staff Sergeant Fuyuumi Amaya 冬海 雨夜 (3曹)

Opinion of Baltlanders (Scandinavians):

Generally, the Auroral Union views the people of Baltland as comrades, and relations are cordial. Formal diplomatic relations have been established. In the meantime, public sentiment towards Baltland is at record heights, as talk of a possible diplomatic move within the Nikaido administration in order to further nurture and solidify relations with the nation, coupled with whispers that Baltlandic (demonym?) politicians are amenable to forming a trade pact with Mizuyuki, has raised hopes of Baltland eventually becoming one of the Auroral Union's most valued global partners in the modern era. The Trinity, composed of three of Mizuyuki's dominant, state-owned zaibatsu, are tentatively exploring the viability of securing interests in the Baltlandic market, which has contributed to a general mood of optimism, both among the higher echelons of the administration and the general public, in turn spawning favourable opinion of Baltland.

  • Lieutenant General Celestia Knightsbridge does not have any particular opinion on Baltland, as is her wont on anything pertaining to international relations.

  • Colonel Kirigiri Asuka admires the Baltlandic way of doing things, to quote her verbatim. She is highly supportive of the nation's policies and what she perceives as political astuteness on their part - which leads her to favour Baltland on the whole.

  • Major Maizono Kanae sees Baltland as a 'winter wonderland' - "heaven knows we get enough snow back in Mizuyuki", quips her reliable sidekick Sergeant Fuyuumi Amaya. Fun-loving as the Major is, she views every country she's not been to before as a new experience, and of course, a heaven-sent chance to have some fun, all wrapped up in nice wrapping paper and delivered to her doorstep. Back on track, though, Major Maizono sees Baltland as most of the general public do - through rose-tinted glasses. TL;DR - she has a very favourable opinion of them; a situation not likely to change soon.

  • First Lieutenant Hoshii Tsukasa tends to be more objective than her superior, and willingly dispenses with the rose-tinted glasses when evaluating Baltland. Despite her objectivity, 1st Lt. Hoshii feels that her opinion of Baltland can be concisely summed up in three simple words - "Scandinavian Liberal Paradise". She feels that Baltland fits the description down to the last inch, both literally, figuratively and geographically.

  • First Lieutenant Ikezaki Satsuki likes Baltland simply because she's assuming that there will be lots of water in and around of the place. And when she says lots, she means it. A huge swimming enthusiast, her partner 1st Lt. Hoshii can often be heard wondering aloud why on earth she didn't join the Navy. Perhaps she likes diving into the sea from high altitudes? Nonetheless, 1st Lt. Ikezaki is looking forward to the White Skies Meet with barely suppressed excitement, for she wants to sample the swimming there.

She isn't likely to forget her burning ambition to taste the local seafood either.

  • Staff Sergeant Fuyuumi Amaya has never set foot out of Mizuyuki in the past, let alone landing upon the shores of Baltland. She views Baltland favourably, as do a host of her superiors in the 1st Kagebōshi Elite Fighter Wing, because of the government propaganda machine that has been spewing pro-Baltland messages on an unprecedented rate. Having garnered her rudimentary knowledge of Baltland primarily through sources such as the state-owned television channels and chatter among her friends, one can't blame her for having such a skewed view of the Nordic union.
[/list]

Opinion of Ravensborn (Norse revival group):

Hostile in the extreme, similar to the public sentiment within the nation on the Forn Sed Assembly. Mizuyuki-jin comprise two major categories in terms of religious beliefs - a large majority are nominal followers of Kiseki Shinto (heavily based on RL Shinto). While their beliefs may not be devout in any sense of the word, most Mizuyuki-jin tend to possess atheist leanings due to the administration's emphasis on secular education, and as such are not predisposed to subscribe to any other organised religion, especially paganism etc. They are inclined to actively dislike religious factions who flaunt their beliefs without restraint, and the fact that Ravensborn are part of the militant Forn Sed Assembly only serves to further lower their standing in most Mizuyuki-jin's opinion.

See above for characters' opinions; precisely the same applies for all listed characters.

I've mashed some facets of the characters' personalities in the opinions part, which are admittedly somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I'm hoping that some insight as to my characters can presumably be gained from that. This app remains a WIP, with short bios and opinions on Baltland of the listed characters to be added if I can find time in the next couple of days.

EDIT - A bit of clarification - under no circumstances will my people be piloting their fighters and shooting shit up. The 1st Kagebōshi Elite Fighter Wing is one of the Air Self-Defence Forces' top squadrons, and until I clear things up with Wolf, they will be tagging along with their fighters in tow. If required I am amenable to removing the fighters completely and tagging the wing onto the 11th Mechanised Division as observers/otherwise take them permanently out of action, at least for the duration of this RP.

Celestia Knightsbridge is the youngest candidate to be promoted to the position of Lieutenant General within the Auroral Union, and with good reason. At the tender age of 22, she was elevated from her initial rank as colonel to lieutenant general after catching the eye of her superior, Commander of the Auroral Air Force Tachibana Kaede, with a perfect test score in the annual mental tests that are a part of personnel evaluation. Considered a prodigious strategist and tactician among the ranks of the air force, Knightsbridge is designated non-combat personnel – she is capable of piloting any of the aircraft that the Auroral Air Force maintains, but does not have practical experience due to higher command deciding not to risk one of their invaluable assets in combat situations.

Despite her inherent tactical genius, Knightsbridge has a cold and aloof personality that precludes her from forming lasting relationships. She tends to make decisions based on empirical evidence and hard fact, without bothering to consider other factors she thinks of as trivial, namely human emotion and personal relationships. This deficiency is the sole reason why Knightsbridge failed to be promoted to the rank of General, as she is incapable of rallying personnel and motivating them due to this failing. Otherwise, Knightsbridge is an excellent all-round commander in terms of military strategy – her outstanding ability to identify and analyse various factors on the battlefield allows her to make split-second decisions which she is then able to act decisively. She has a cool head, and never fails to maintain her composure even under the most pressurised situations.

After some discussion, I'm going to allow one plane-equipped squadron in. However, their involvement in the story might be impaired due to the coming ground battles ahead.

Nation Name (Official): The Greater Qing Empire of Minroz/ Minrozian Empire
National Air Force(s) participating: Minrozian Imperial Air-Fleet (Although it’s more like the whole military is representing.)
No. of Participants: 30
Reasons for participating: On orders of the Imperial government to represent Minroz, though mainly it’s the Koumintang’s (Ruling party of Minroz) attempted stunt to show-off the might of the Minrozian Army to the world. And to extend bilateral relations with Baltland and other nations participating in White Skies meet. But in Ai’s terms, it’s to have fun and to encourage her newly-formed team to work together as one, despite their differences.
Opinion of Baltlanders: Generally, ranging from intrigued interests to indifference to ‘typical infidel, pinkskin barbarians with no sense of honour or decency’. Nonetheless, Baltland is one of the unknown yet fascinating nations by Minrozian public. The Emperor is hoping this event will strengthen the relationship with participating nations.

Seeing as how other magical girl and mecha 'verses are represented, why not Vividred Operation?

Not quite complete, but I'll get this out as long as I've got it:

EDIT: Have added basic dossiers for characters, still need to wrangle images for some of them.
EDIT 2: Alright, I think this is finally done now.

Nation Name (Official): The Holy Haruhiist Empire of Imota
National Air Force(s) participating: Holy Imperial Imotan Navy
No. of Participants: 9 named characters so far, not expected to be more than twelve
Reasons for participating: Field testing the Vivid System to determine if it's feasible, and further developing doctrine if it is.

ORBAT:
  • 502nd Mobile Vivid Squadron (Provisional)
    • 4 Type 1 Boomerang Suits (balance/support)
    • 1 Type 2 Hammer Suit (attack power)
    • 2 Type 3 Blade Suits (maneuverability)
    • 1 Type 4 Collider Suit (defense/long range attack)
    • 1 Type 0 Fist Suit (unknown)
    • 1 modified Mistral class amphibious assault ship (houses miniature Manifestation Engine)
    • 2 modified Freedom class littoral combat ships

Characters: (pictures and detailed profiles to come)
Opinion of Baltlanders (Scandinavians): None yet. Imota is a very isolationist country that decided to break centuries of tradition to see if Kiyume's Manifestation Engine and Palette Suit technology could find use outside.
Opinion of Ravensborn (Norse revival group): None yet, but [DATA EXPUNGED]

Kiyume Katou
Age: 25
Rank: Colonel

The developer of the Vivid System, Kiyume is a brilliant but mysterious scientist working in the Imperial Guard's research and development branch, and a close personal friend of the Empress. She led the team that developed the Manifestation Engine in the hope of finding a cheap and clean source of energy, and developed the Palette Suits entirely by accident. Unfortunately, said accident also transferred her soul into a plush weasel doll, so she resides in that while other scientists look for a way to return her to normal. While she is highly knowledgeable about the technology behind the Vivid System and is eager to share it, her brilliance and drive isn't necessarily fettered by common sense, moral decency, or rules, and at times, things aren't always as they seem...

Tomoe Natsume
Age: 22
Rank: Lieutenant

A childhood friend of Ritsuko. Not a career naval officer, she had initially entered university to become a teacher when she was assigned to work with Ritusko on the Vivid Project, both for her background in education studies and her connection to Ritsuko. Kind and motherly, she cares deeply for the girls under her command.

Ritsuko Saijou
Age: 22
Rank: Lieutenant Junior Grade

A childhood friend of Tomoe. Ritsuko graduated at the top of her class at the naval academy and was almost immediately promoted and assigned to the Vivid Project. A stickler for rules and regulations, she was assigned as Tomoe's executive officer because the Navy felt her personality and skills were better suited that role. While she bears no resentment towards her friend, she is occasionally thrown for a loop by Tomoe's decidedly non-military bearing. Their leadership style is best described as good cop/bad cop.

Kagami Katou
Age: 16
Rank: Ensign

Kiyume's younger sister. A snarky and sarcastic girl who nonetheless cares deeply about the other girls in the unit, if only because she knows first hand just how weird her sister can be. What she lacks in brilliance compared to her sister she more than compensates for with common sense and work ethic. She often assists Tomoe and Ritsuko with their leadership duties.

Mai Katatsu
Age: 15
Rank: Ensign

An easy-going girl from the sub-tropical southern reaches of the empire, Mai loves napping in the sun and being with friends. She also loves animals and nature, especially insects, rodents, and other animals and plants otherwise regarded as pests. She dislikes salty foods and is very sensitive to cold, often wearing a comically oversized heavy coat even as others wear thin clothes with short sleeves. Predictably enough, she often wraps the coat around herself to block out noise and cold when napping, and claims to be able to sleep through anything (and if what she has slept through is any indication, she's not exaggerating).

Kazumi Ebara
Age: 14
Rank: Ensign

A timid and quiet girl from the capital, Kazumi is the daughter of two scientists involved with the Vivid Project. Often left home alone because of their work and bullied because of her seemingly inherited brilliance in the sciences, she developed severe neurosis and anxiety issues. The deaths of her parents in the same accident that left Kiyume in a plush weasel's body didn't help matters, and her attempted suicide was thwarted when Kiyume offered her a place in the Vivid Project.

Alice Sakuranomiya
Age: 14
Rank: Petty Officer Second Class

A rather mean-spirited girl who was the ringleader of Kazumi's bullies for many years. Athletic, smart, popular, and a daughter of one of the empire's wealthiest families, she nonetheless hated Kazumi for getting better grades than her, seeing her as a competitor for attention from teachers. Her father arranged with Kiyume to have her placed in the Vivid Project in the hopes of teaching her some much needed humility.

Shana Arasu
Age: 13
Rank: Petty Officer Second Class

The only child of a kendo-ka living in the heavily wooded mountains of northern Imota, Shana has long lived by the sword, under the tutelage of her father. However, she has had very little contact with the outside world, and her social skills are very underdeveloped. Kiyume recruited her for the Vivid Project, hoping that her skills with the sword could add some much needed fighting strength to the unit.

Miyako Mizuhashi
Age: 13
Rank: Petty Officer First Class

An energetic and friendly girl from a small city in western Imota. Miyako rarely takes anything seriously. Eager to meet new people and see new places, she often led her friends on "expeditions" to explore parts of the city and the surrounding countryside. This led to frequent run-ins with law enforcement for trespassing and related offences, and when Kiyume got wind of these developments, she approached the Mizuhashi family and offered Miyako a space in the Vivid Project.

Karlslanders aren't racist because we have so many sapient species that would be silly.

After all, everyone knows Karlslanders are superior. :3

Opinion of Baltlanders (Scandinavians): The Reichstag has a indecisive view on the Baltlanders. Even though they are a close Germanic relative to Nachfolgians, they are still viewed as inferior to true blooded Nachfolgians. The Reich's foreign ministry hopes that this military exercise will help strength ties with our long forgotten Germanic brother as well as gain more knowledge about northern Europa.
Opinion of Ravensborn (Norse revival group):The Reichstag expresses a [Daten geschwärzt]
