The allegations had later been dismissed by the Philippine national police due to lack of evidence and Garcia was later facing charges of physical assault and attempted murder to frustrated murder in the court of law. Penguin Union Nation Councilpenguin Pingu To Step Down After 12 Years

PENGUINOPOLIS, District 1 — Lead representative of the Penguin Council (Chairpenguin) and one of the founding fathers of the Penguin Union Nation, announced in an early session that he plans to finally step down from his seat on the Council entirely in 2014, vacating the position he filled for more than a decade. Pingu, now 31, disclosed exhaustion on his part due to his relatively old age (for penguins), and a desire to want to "turn the page" and let a new order emerge on the committee.

He said (translated from Penguinese) early Saturday morning, "It seems as though we have lit the spark, and I am proud to have lit it with you. The embers were already there, and now a different generation will have to stoke the flame as I step back to admire its luster. We took to the sky in this city as an example, to show that penguins can fly, to show to humans that they can reach heights, too, and we could, and will help them to do so. I may not do it from this seat, but I will, on my honor, support our cause, to and beyond my last breath. Thank you all, my colleagues, citizens of Penguinopolis, of this great Penguin Union, of this waiting, shimmering world."

Pingu, as you might recall, began his life in front of a camera, in a documentary on Antarctic life by pioneer filmmaker Otmar Gutmann, who passed in 1993. He was in over 150 episodes of the show bearing his name, which became popular amongst both humans and penguins. Pingu quit show business long before his show stopped airing in 2006. He married his childhood sweetheart, Pingi, in 1996, and joined the Penguin Revolution Party in early 2001, when the colonies of East Antarctica were starting to form their own nation, which became the PUN. She-King Gaby and the Founder, General Mikers, supported him in the formation of a central government body consisting of powerful penguins. It was by unanimous vote amongst those first elected, that he should be made Chairpenguin, a position he took up just one day after the Penguin Union Nation officially declared independence from Antarctica.

Throughout the years, Pingu governed popularly, perhaps because, or despite, being mostly centrist, never wanting to entirely cast off old traditions, but looking for new contexts and different opportunities to open the nation's minds to different ideas. After the assassination of Penguin Council members KC and Classy Mint at the Penguin Liberation Army's Antarctic HQ base in 2007, Pingu was advised to take some time off, but refused to. Perhaps impassioned by the sacrifice of his comrades, he helped form a new and stronger Council and forged ahead.

Today marks the 12th Anniversary of the Penguin Liberation Declaration, the beginning of the Penguin Union Nation, and tomorrow, while also Christmas Eve, also marks his first day on the job. When asked how he plans to celebrate 12 years on the job, he simply shrugged (the best a penguin can) and replied, "Noot noot."

PRESS RELEASE RM Aircraft, ITX Aviation Consortium, and Oy-Orion Technologies to Develop Electric Taxiing As part of on-going research and development into future technology options, RM Aircraft has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Votexis International, a joint venture company between ITX Aviation Consortium and Oy-Orion Technologies, to further develop and evaluate an autonomous electric pushback and taxiing solution for the RMA 750 Magicwind family of aircraft. The agreement marks the selection of Votexis International’s Integrated Taxiing System to be evaluated as a new option on the RMA 750 family – referred to by RM Aircraft as VIITS This option would allow the aircraft to push-back from the gate without a tug, taxi-out to the runway, and return to the gate after landing without operating the main engines. VIITS will use the aircraft’s Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) to power electric motors fitted to the main landing gear wheels. The architecture will include the ability for pilots to keep full control from the cockpit over their aircraft’s speed and direction during taxi operations. The VIITS option will offer several operational and environmental benefits for the RMA 750 Family: • Per trip, the projected fuel savings and CO2 reductions would be approximately 8%; • It would contribute to significantly more efficient taxiing operations and save around 4 minutes of time on pushback; • Taxiing-related carbon and nitrous oxide emissions would be cut by more than half.

For the past few days, the Capital was being shelled by Marshonian Artillery in an attempt to force out communist rebels. (BEIJING) - The naming and flag presenting ceremony of the Zhengzhou was held at a naval port in Ningbo, east China’s Zhejiang province. Officers of the East China Sea Fleet presented the naming certificate and PLA flag to the commander of the missile destroyer.

155 meters long and 17 meters wide, the Zhengzhou has a displacement of more than 6,000 tons. It represents China’s new type of missile destroyer, equipped with self-developed new weapons. It has long-range warning, detecting and fleet air defense capabilities and can be used independently or with other ships to attack surface ships and submarines.

The United Confederation admits the Western Northern Islands as a member

Following a joint Confederate-Berdanvian invasion of the New Berdanvian Order-held Northern Islands, the United Confederation of Sovereign States has occupied the Western Northern Islands for annexation. The natives there celebrated their liberation from the New Berdanvian Order as Confederate troops arrived to help set a provisional government called the Republic of the Western Northern Islands. Following the establishment of the new government, the United Confederation of Sovereign States has officially admitted the Western Northern Islands as a member. Orthodoxy, Carpathia declares war after surprise attack

Carpathian Dominion of Triela; Sondria- Parliament agreed to Madame Presidents plea after her speech to officially declare a state of war between the FCC and both Orthodoxy and Mandicoria. Just this morning, Orthodoxy aircraft came over the borders of Triela, a territory of the FCC in the region Sondria, and attacked numerous outposts, refineries and the port city of Porte D'Elion. The Ministry of Defense says that despite the best efforts from the PDF stationed in the city, they were ordered to withdraw thus losing the critical port.

His Majesty has not yet made a comment, since he's been gone on personal leave giving the powers of the country to Madame President Garcia til his return. At her speech hours after the report by Central 6, Garcia promised vengeance and that the nation of Orthodoxy would ''feel the devastation'' in the Carpathian's ''wake''. Afterwards Parliament passed an official declaration of war on Orthodoxy and its vassal Mandicoria, the Carpathian military across the entire FCC for the first time in sixty years has been placed under DEFCON 3 with a stand-by order for DEFCON 2.

Garcia acknowledged the sacrifice of the souls who tried to defend Porte D'Elion saying that the ''brutal attack did not come without great loss.'' The Ministry of Defense says that of the casualties, a thousand civilians have been injured or killed in the attacks on Porte D'Elion, they [MoD] stated that the civilians were evacuated to Civil Defense zones, bunkers in and around the city. Artillery and aircraft bashed border outpost early in the morning without warning, many of them in the Transalpine Mountains, were destroyed in the first few hours. Reports came in before midday over the destruction of the port in Porte D'Elion apparently under a direct order from SONCOM, the central command for the armed forces in that region. After the orders for withdraw came through, PDF were told to scuttle the remaining vessels in the harbor, and to detonate and destroy the bridges leaving south of the city.

People reported thousands of trucks in massive convoys with people walking, holding everything they could manage travelling south from Porte D'Elion, most likely meaning that the evacuation was successful. General Garnier has been given control over the PDF in the region until a further notice, he is in charge of the evacuation and the regrouping of PDF. The Zanerian Administration for Space Travel and Technology,or ZASTT, has recently stated that the mining of asteroids and other space debris may happen very soon.The head of ZASTT,Archibald Graham von Jenkins stated in an interview,"We have recently thought of a system where we may land on an asteroid,drill into it,and mine it with robot mechs that can be remote controlled from the safety of the base."He went on to state that,"Instead of destroying an asteroid headed for our planet,we can mine it.At the rate of the robot mechs' work,it will no longer be a danger,and we get materials."A base on the Moon will process the material,where it will be sent up to a space station.There it will be built into a larger space station,one that may move about the solar system,and that processing and spaceship building may take place at.ZASST wishes they may do this in the near future,and ask for donations.

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivers a New Year address broadcast Tuesday to domestic and
overseas audience via China Radio International, China National Radio and China Central Television.

(BEIJING) - Dec. 31 -- President Xi Jinping expressed his confidence in China's future reforms and extended good wishes to all Chinese in his New Year address Tuesday.

"In 2013, we made an overall arrangement on comprehensively deepening reform, drawing a grand blueprint for the country's future development," Xi said in the address via state broadcasters.

"In 2014, we will make new strides along the path of reform."

The fundamental purpose of the reform is to make the country rich and strong, the society fair and just and people's lives better, he said.

Addressing domestic and overseas audiences, Xi called on the people to fight hard together for this great cause.

"We have made numerous glories in the great cause of reform and opening-up. I firmly believe that new glories will be awaiting the Chinese people," he said.

President Andrew Lawrence said that "the new flag promotes a new identity for the nation, continuing from where e left off a few years ago when we started. As a rapidly growing nation, we want a national flag that identifies with all of the nation, and not just the old capital region".

The flag itself replaces the old design on all legal and official documents, but the old design is still being withdrawn gradually in some uses, most notably on the World Cup 67 kits, where the old design will remain until the end of the campaign. The new flag was the main centre of focus as celebrations started at midnight to celebrate the new year.

Today the Senate has announced the abolition of capital punishment in Anzinzar. There is a temporary stay of execution on the 417 inmates currently on death row, while the Senate decides whether to reduce their sentences to life incarceration.

Capital punishment has been in use in Anzinzar since the nation's founding 300 years ago, although in recent years it has been far less used as a sentence, except in more extreme cases. All 417 inmates still on death row received their sentences for homicide or rape, usually in violent circumstances.

The worst offender on death row, who's sentence will also be reduce to life if the Senate approves the move, is 30 year old serial killer Antos Virago. Virago murdered more than 30 people across three states over the course of seven years before his capture by Anzinzar Federal Security Agent Kiran Antak in 2025CE. If Virago's sentence is reduced, he will most likely serve the remainder of his life at Goranzar Penal Facility, in the southern desert.

The move to end capital punishment was lead by Senator Uran Karzai, and spurred by several humanitarian groups who have regularly petitioned the Senate, as well as protested at several penal facilities across the nation. It was passed in the Senate by a majority of 46-6, easily achieving the required ²/₃ vote.
