Didn't this episode already established her as a canon character though?

Yeh. read what I said againThe reason i'm saying it'll be in season 5 is that they probably wont want two DD episodes in one season, but it's such an obvious plot that they'll already be thinking about it.

SUDDENLY THEY TURN OUT TO BE SPIDERMAN AND HAVE AN EPIC FIGHTSCENE!
You are outside, watching it happen from the window.
Do you seriously think you'd have the presence of mind to remember it's really happening and not a movie or something?
I'm betting 99% of people would do the same thing. Fuck, the bystander syndrome exists even if its not a random hitherto fictional character suddenly kicking ass. Your brain would be too confused and just be fall back on:
Daring Do = Entertainment
Here is Daring Do.
Lets watch.

Lets watch.Only that's not a fair comparison, these mane six are the same ponies we've seen battle against a variety of foes. One of them even has a spell that she used only in the previous episode which could have prevented the fight from continuing without having to break a sweat.
I suppose it's possible they expected Daring Do to win or maybe they decided to let her lose on purpose in order for the new book to be more interesting.

I have no idea how her leg got better when she flew off. Maybe she took some syringes of adrenaline hidden in her hat or something.

Daring Do: Now, Ahuizotl, you know I love you, but I can't give you the ring until I've properly proposed. <<< BEST LINE OF THE EPISODE!

As for the line, It was followed by Dashies shipping face...

So, do you have a legitimate reason, or are you saying that because you went in expecting it to suck, and ergo you were going to hate it either way?
Since you asked...When I read this episode was about helping an author write a book, I expected something about writing a book. But no. "Oh, Daring Do is real! Let's go on a generic adventure!" Daring Do(God, I hate that she's real) is a total bitch and a hack author from what they said about her books, Dash was a moronic fanboy, the other 5 were basically just there as extras, oh and the end. "Hey kids, harass your favorite author enough, and she'll put you in her book!"
Awful. Actually worse than "Read It And Weep".
