"I am not my father, you fool, if I were, you would all be dead or dying already." - King Charles IV, responding to accusations he was becoming a cold-blooded murdering tyrant just like his father, Charles III. The irony in this is that he was a cold-blooded murdering bastard during his service in the Royal Army during the African Rebellion in the 1990s

"Kingdom, or Republic? The answer is simple... This is my land and you will obey me." - King Charles III, prior to having the African Rebellion squashed like a bug, by which we mean he deployed a serious amount of Disproportionate Retribution for people who were looking to legally cede from the Republic.

"This is the U.S. Constitution, the single most sacred and important document this Republic possesses. The very fact that we are a Republic is laid out and affirmed in these pages. I am sworn to it, and more loyal than I ever could be to any man or woman I know. Monarchs come and go with the seasons, governments change with the tides, but the Constitution still remains."

"'Christophobia' is such a stupid word. Religion is an ideology. A choice. Communists aren't crying 'Marxophobe' or something everytime someone disagrees with their ideology. Capitalists don't whine about 'Capitalphobes' everytime someone tries to debate them. So, these 'Christophobes' don't exist. Stop whining and accept that your beliefs aren't above criticism."

"The moral high point of my life was when I committed patricide." - A very deadpan Charles IV, who did indeed, brutally murder his father for committing near-genocide during the African Rebellion. He was pardoned by the courts of the Republic because Charles III was that much of a bastard.

"Simply put... I am what happens when Prince Charming gets hit in the face with what Life is really like over and over again." - Charles IV

"This nation has endured many hardships, some of great evils, some of revolutions of independence. We must stand at the ready to combat these threats to the greatest nation on this earth, the United Kingdom of Marsisian!" -President Richard Roosevelt, shortly after the surrender of the Fourth Reich.

"My fellow countrymen! Today we will meet the treacherous Black Watch in the field of battle. It's actually quite funny. They think they will win! And they will, if our resolve is not strong. Do not falter! Did your ancestors, your forefathers, did they surrender in the face of evil? In the face of the Kavalans? In the face of the Bolish? In the face of the Vandiniumites? NO! They didn't! And right now, we are about to face our strongest enemy yet! Do not bring your ancestors to shame. Live up to your family names, and to this country's! DO NOT GIVE UP! WE CAN STILL FIGHT! WE CAN STILL WIN! KRIF VOTH AHKRIN!"

"The Reasons You Suck!" - The literal beginning to a speech given by the 12th First Minister of the Republic to King Napoleon IV. If you're wondering why their name isn't remembered... Well they got shot, but the point got across and Napoleon IV was overthrown/abdicated depending on which historian you listen to because 1840 was a hilarious year for us.

"The appeal that fables and fairy tales supply is simple. They are our way of coping with the unexplainable nature of our far too often, horrific world." - King Charles IV, who in spite of his cynicism and general gray morality outlook on life, advocates and is a lover of fables and fairy tales; probably as a sideffect of his life being so damn crapsack.

"The more Progressive nations of the world, the Social Democracies of Europe and so on, they often mock us as barbaric and uncivilized. I suppose I can see why. They have such modern, civilized ideas in life, and we have such strange beliefs. For example, we believe that if you can work, you should work. You have no business expecting others to carry you unless you can't. We believe it's irresponsible not to hold people accountable when they break the law and harm others. Broken rules bring consequences. That is how life used to work, and how it still works here. We believe an individual has the right to defend himself, his family, his house, and his property, instead of relying on an overtaxed police force which too often seems more intent on regulating the lives of the law-abiding than it does on bringing the legitimate criminals to swift, decisive justice. Finally, we have the audacity to believe the individual, the Citizen, comes before the state. I do not enjoy being insulted, called uncivilized and savage, any more than most people I know, but like I said before, we have such strange ideas."

"The 'First Gorgashian Revolution' is a matter of perspective and national pride. Gorgashians like to consider they took the nation through force of arms, but in truth it was due to the ideologies of Liberalism that had overtaken both Gorgashia and Amerique in the 1800's. Essentially, around the time the Ameri revolution happened, we were gearing up for our own revolution, oblivious to what was going in in Amerique at the time. By the time we were ready, the Ameri were already under the sway of Liberalism, the ideology we were openly praising along with nationalism while we were arming ourselves. So, when we marched up to them, brandishing arms, and demanded independence, expecting them to say no, they said yes. It was a bit awkward, but we didn't want to refuse the risk our chances of losing independence in a revolutionary war. So, we accepted and even sent troops to help them out when Napoleon took over and started invading all over the place. Of course, this has led to a lot of debate on the subject of whether or not it was a true revolution. Some say that our willingness to resort to revolution makes it still count as a revolution. Others say it was an extension of the Ameri's revolution. Some others say we call it a revolution to make ourselves feel better after the tremendous asskicking the Ameri gave us when they colonized us. However you look at it, the end result is that we were an independent nation as a result and we call it a revolution regardless of what it actually was."

- Jacques Robespierre, Gorgashian historian.
