Replace one of the shoulder pads with a dreadnaught shin guard perhaps? That should add some bulk to it if that's what your aiming for.

i was thinken somethen like that or useing bitz from termi's (legs and shoulder pads) going to model a lot of chain mail in particular a chainmail cloak.

pretty awesome. it also looks like marine shoulder pads could be made to fit them if you wanted to maintain the MIGHTY PAULDRONS! vibe.

I would say go with a mix, possiblky with a couple of head swaps for beaky mk6 helmets (if they look at all to scale) and some of the other old school marine helmets if they ever made them available with seperate heads.

Or don't, these are awesome as they are.

I love warhammer 40k. Never got the models, but played hours upon hours of Dawn of War games and even more time reading into 40k Lore. Friends find it annoying when I got into 40k mode, but I don't care! THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!

Anyways, my favorite 40k faction is the Imperal Guards (Death Krops of Krieg, Armageddon Steel Legion and the Imperal Guard in general.) Mostly due to the fact they're (most of them) are just everyday humans fighting against the many untold horrors of the galaxy every second of everyday. Not only that, but the only thing to protect the guardsmen is a basic flak jacket and a laser rifle that is pretty much an flashlight to most enemies. Yet they send millions upon millions of brave (forcefully) men and women at the enemy lines. That's something that you got to respect. Also the heavy armor that the guardsmen have are so much more impressive than other factions.

But if I had to put a top five list of factions/sub factions, it would look something like this.

1. Death Krops of Krieg (Gas Masks all the way!)
2. Steel Legion of Armageddon (More gas masks, just without the sad backstory of nuking your own world, sorry Krieg.)
3. Space Marines (Black Templars, enough said)
4. Orks (Red means faster)
5. Tau (For the greater good? Maybe?)

Anyways I would love to own models one day and get battles going so I can grow more into the lore and the game itself. Though I want the Death Krops more than any other army and most people who are into 40k more than likely will not give them up anytime soon.

I like this idea. The berets seem weird for Space Marines in PA.
