LBS Season 8-Time to Celebrate!

After the Ile Perrot Epee defeated the Fillydelphia Fillies to win their second BCCC title, they take to the field as the number 1 ranked club in the world, playing in the number 1 ranked league in the world. They'll return to the 12th BCCC, but who will join them? Is St-Simeon's reign as the undisputed best team in jeopardy as other teams rise? Let's find out, here at season 8!

ILE PERROT-This is Radio-51 Baseball, your home for all Ile Perrot Epee home and away series, and guess what? Tonight is opening night, but first the Epee have 2 banners to raise! First, the red and white LBS Championship banner, featuring the colours of the league and the logo of the Epee in the middle. Below it reads, 2017-2018 League Champions/Championat!, written in gold. The next banner is the BCCC championship banner. It looks like it did last year, folks, still beautiful, the black and silver being prominent in the design, with the text reading 2018 Championat du Monde/World Champions! Once again, the BCCC Champion's Trophy was received by Boullion Carvier, and the Epee took on the Richelieu Redhawks in their opening game. Carvier had a home run as Les Epee took victory 5-0.

Holy! Nordique Val-Maurice prove to be the team that end Lac-Drouin St-Pierre's long reign of champion of the ASSCL! Kurt Doen, the Mytanar youth import, proved valuable, helping NVM with 2 goals in his caps for the team. He played well throughout the season, and definitely will be a future star. However, he's only here for a one season loan from Athletik Thessia, so NVM could lose him after the season. LDSP stayed second in the league, with Angel Capobianco providing offense, scoring 26 goals in his 58 caps for the team. Sentinals and FC Alma's run in the top circuit ends. 44 teams. 1 champion. Teams 21st and below in the top league and all Series-B clubs will compete in the first round. Then with 32 teams left, the eliminatory stages will continue. Each series will be a 1 match, winner-take-all showdown. The Finals will also be 1 match, with the winner based the winner of the game held at the home of Lions Clermont FC, the team that won the rights for The Finals over Real Val Maurice's Stade Mauricie. Therefore, Clermont Stadium will host the championship final. There was talk of having a match between the Emperor's Shield winner and the Coupe Nationale winner, but at the earliest, that will be held next year. -This one-sided affair saw Jean-Luc Brebeau score 4 goals. Simple as that. Manager Gilles Duchene's team had the fans cheering 12 minutes in, and they wouldn't stop the rest of the match. Brebeau's hat trick was a beauty, a bicycle kick off a corner that smashed under the woodwork to put the Tremblers up 6-0. The win preserved EC's 3-0-0 record, keeping them at the top of the table. The loss put Seasid in 25th, with a win and 2 losses.

-An excellent match on May the 4th Day. While league powers LDSP faced off with Real Ile Perrot across town, all eyes were on this match by the 90th minute. Xavi Zukalon tied the match for the Capitales after Alexandre Micarron scored 6 minutes earlier, keeping the match even until the 89th minute. However, Sandiego Venequez recieved the ball off a throw-in with a minute to play, and was determined to end the game. He faked around both defenders, spinned around the charging midfield trying to stop him, before chipping it over the keeper. It was a dazzling goal, that gave his team the win, improving them to 3-6-2.

-We couldn't resist showing the current table leaders win a match! Yakoya Suzuka scored in the 24th minute after a great save by the Rangers keeper Jack Brown, who's really shown off here early in the year. Suzuka faked through the defenders, and scored to give his team the lead. Both teams attacked hard in the next 70 minutes, with the Val-Maurice side missing a penalty opportunity. That miss in the 35th minute would prove to be major, with the Rangers taking the win, improving their position to 16-9-5 atop the league table, 1 game ahead of second place.

-Robert Rougal's double early on and Angel Capobianco's double would be the most scored by an individual in the match, but their teammates would do more to get the ending score. Hans Richelieu added to LDSP's total, but Harvey Bouregard, Jeffery Foxsval, Morris McAllay, and Hubert Carlon would add a goal in extra time to make the final score 6-3. That would improve OB to 5th in the table at 16-11-11, tied with the team they beat, LDSP, at 16-11-11.

-3 points back of City Riviere St-Denis for the league title on the last day of the season, Emperor Hill needed a win to become the 3rd team to ever win the ASSCL. After hearing that City dropped their match 0-1 to Richelieu FC, Emperor Hill needed a win to take the league. A draw would be no good. After going down 1-0 in the 12th minute, Yakoya Suzuka scored in the 14th minute to tie the match. It looked like the match would end in a draw, with both keepers owning the net for the next 60 minutes. But in the 79th minute, the Rangers' backfield came through, striking deep for the go ahead goal. Yakoya Suzuka would score again, to put his team up 3-1. And then, Lauri Lautrevon scored in the injury minutes to give his team the 4-1 lead and victory. Stade Est-Lac went crazy when SFA Director Rene Rochefort walked to the centre of the pitch to present the Emperor's Shield to captain Suzuka. Emperor Hill are the ASSCL Champions!

It's time for the Coupe Nationale! After the bidding process, the home ground of the Lac-Drouin Capitales will host the finals, Stade du Ragincourt. Members of the Capitales and their fans can only hope their team will be playing for the grand prize, they have a bye to the Preliminary Round, as the 21st and below teams in the top league and all Series-B teams compete in the first round. The winner of this Cup will qualify for the Cygnus Cup, and will also play Emperor Hill Rangers in a special game before the season next year. If Emperor Hill should win the cup, this game will be played between them and the runner-up. Here are the results!

SHL Season 7: International Edition

Well, really only 1 international. Out of the 480 or so players in the SHL, 479 or so are Sicoutian. The exception, the 1, is Shannon Desmarais, a Quebecois import who will make his league debut this season with the Cote-Manicougan Vikings. The Vikings drafted him in the 1st round of the SHL draft this offseason, after scouting him through much of the NSCAA Hockey tournament. Speaking of that, Rick Rover was drafted 1st by the Richelieu Admirals, and Cy Papineau went second. All 3 of these rookies, the only ones in the first round to actually make their team out of camp, will hunt down the Lazare Trophy for League MVP. Any other international players interested in heading to Sicoutimont are instructed by the SHL to contact the league head office. They will review the submission, and enter the player into either the draft or free agency. Anyhow, here's Season 7 Regular Season, Playoff, and Awards results! This will be followed by a Scouting Report for the next SHL draft. Sometime, probably after the NSCAA tournament, we'll give you full draft results, free agency and next season's previews.

In FC Cote's league début after being stuck in the Series-2 for a few seasons, David Archambault brought the home fans up with this beautiful strike from the 18 yard box.
4-Darren Parrett (Allouette Jonquiere) (Allouette Jonquiere 1-2 Lac-Drouin St-Pierre)
Although his side lost, the New Sideburn international struck gold with this, a masterful dangle around 2 LDSP defenders before a chip over the keeper's head to give his team a tied score. Parrett would finish his 2nd season in Sicoutimont with 14 goals, 5 more than last season.
3-Rene Levasseur (City Riviere St-Denis) (City Riviere St-Denis 3-1 FC du Lac)
Although they were against one of the worst teams in the league, Levasseur's City side scored 3 goals against FC du Lac, including this beautiful directed header off a corner kick.
2-Angel Capobianco (Lac-Drouin St-Pierre) (Allouette Jonquiere 1-2 Lac-Drouin St-Pierre)
This game, billed as the 'Meeting of Stars', featured a few star goals. Darren Parrett's early goal, 4th on our list, was to even this goal, another work of art by the Ossidiaquan star, putting the ball past a few Jonquiere defenders, before scoring a goal from his knees on the ground. Another masterful goal by the Ossidiaquan, who finished the year with 37 goals, 4 off his year high in Sicoutimont, 41.
1-Alain Divonneur (Lac-Nord Etoiles) (St-Simeon City 0-2 Lac-Nord Etoiles)
What a goal. Divonneur, a defence men, got so lucky on this goal, his manager was shaking his head. Trying to break up an offensive chip, he got a boot on it through a bicycle kick, sending the ball flying down to the other end. Rolling towards the goal, it looked as if the St-Simeon keeper would get a glove on it. Suddenly, the ball somehow curved away from the keeper's hands, bounced up, and was found in the back of the net. Funnily enough, it would be Divonneur's only goal of the season. In an interview afterwards, he said 'I couldn't do it again if I tried!'.

Yes, you heard that right. After 18 years of sporting darkness since our nation's formation, the GMU finally has its own football league system! We'll review all of the MPL's 15 clubs, with much information about all teams! In the lower tiers, we'll show all the teams playing in Division 2 and Division 3, and project who will win the fight for promotion! So, without further ado, the 15 clubs of the Maritimes Premier League!

Fanbase: Mainly Protestant West-End residents, due to the Confederation Centre's location. The Irish and Scottish are the most outspoken fans of Charlottetown, attending all matches. The West Royalty neighbourhood has the strongest support for this squad, and the atmosphere at the home matches is some of the best in the league.

The atmosphere isn't quite as good as it is across the bay in Halifax, but a Derby Game is certainly an experiance.

Matches with Halifax FC are some of the most heated in the league, as the usually calm residents of our nation's Capital explode with electricity at these games.

Fanbase: English-speaking residents of Moncton and Riverview are the biggest supporters of this team. However, Dieppe's Francophone population prefers FC Edmundston, sparking a rivalry between these two teams. However, Moncton's main rivalry is with Fredericton FC.

Fanbase: Cape Breton Island. Simply stated, that's all the Black-Gold you'll find in the Greater Maritime Union. Antigonish prefers their own sides, and so does most of the East Shore. However, the fans the Miners do have are some of the best in the league, and make themselves vocal at every home game.

Fanbase: As Charlottetown Confederation fans mostly make up the Protestant West-End, PEI FC fans make up the Catholic East-End. Also, it's more likely to see other residents of the island outside Charlottetown wearing Green and White then it is Green and Red. Derby games with the Confederation are furious, as religious, political and sporting tensions come to a forefront.

However, the Halifax teams will likely do well, as will Moncton, Truro and Charlottetown. Teams on the relegation bubble could include Wolfville and Edmundston. Maritimes Premier League Season I: Part I of III

And so, for the first time ever, the Maritimes Premier League gets underway! Training camps are done, pre-season friendlies are finished, and it's time to get the ball rolling!

-Dartmouth secures inagural match victory over Yarmouth, Amherst take down Wolfville by a 1-0 score. James Bouchard's Brace helped Le Madawaska get by Truro, as Fredericton and Lunenburg would tie on that day. Halifax City and Saint John United played a high-scoring match, with Alan Woodward's goal giving United a victory, while across town, it was another loss, with Halifax FC going down 0-4 to Prince Edward Island. Finally, North Sydney defeated Moncton Town by a 4-2 score.

Truro leads the Champion's Cup race 1/3 of the way through the season, dominating the wins table, with 1 loss through 9 games, while PEI and Halifax City are nipping at their proverbial ankles. Lunenburg also joins the Globe Cup roster 1/3 of the way through the season. Halifax FC and Dartmouth City will attempt to close in on these teams in the second third of the city. Wolfville, Amherst, Edmundston and North Sydney sit in the middle of the table, and look to move up in the next half. Saint John and Yarmouth, seperated from 4th place Lunenburg by just 4 points, look to do the same. Fredericton is out of the relegation zone for now, only saved by the fact Charlottetown and Moncton have been terrible. These teams will fight to get out of the Relegation Playoff zone in the next 2 thirds of the season, with a League Title pretty much out of the way for both teams. Charlottetown's big issue is 7 goals in 9 games, and 0 wins. They have 5 draws, which leads the league. 5 draws would be OK, if some of the Confederation's loses had become wins! Even 2-5-2 would give them 11 points, out of the relegation zone. Moncton, on the other hand, has had a disastrous season so far, with 8 loses through 10 games.

With Truro in firm control of the league, and 2nd to 12th separated by 7 points, the second third of the Maritimes Premier League gets underway!

Truro continues to lead the league, by 6 points over FC Amherst. Halifax City, Dartmouth City, Halifax FC and PEI FC find themselves virtually tied, a point seperating some of them. Lunenburg and Edmundston find themselves on the outside looking in to the top 6, and will look to advance their positions in the final third of the season. Wolfville FC are 9th, tied in points with FC Edmundston, and 5 ahead of Moncton Town. 10th and below, anyone could be in the relegation playoff, with Moncton and Charlottetown seperated by 4 points. Charlottetown found the net sometimes in this third, earning 4 victories, but it wasn't enough to bring them out of the bottom of the table. Moncton drastically improved, now with 6 wins and 21 points. Truro (12-3-4) and Amherst (10-3-5) have some of the best records in the league, including a nice win streak by Truro in the second third of the season. Halifax City and Dartmouth City round out the Globe Cup cut-off, with Amherst joining them so far throughout the season.

Matchday 21
-PEI get a big victory over Lunenburg, which they hope moves them up in the table. North Sydney earned a suprising 1-0 home victory over Truro, while Moncton Town could manage but a draw with Wolfville. Marty Grant's hattrick led Halifax FC to a 3-1 victory over Yarmouth, while Halifax City could only manage a draw with Charlottetown. Fredericton defeated Dartmouth, and at Stade D'Etoiles, FC Edmundston took 2-0 defeat from FC Amherst.

Charlottetown somehow managed to draw Truro, who really slipped the last third of the season, and are facing Halifax City's coming onslaught. Meanwhile, Yarmouth FC were able to defeat Wolfville 2-0 at home.

-Heading into this matchday, the points stand like this: Truro has clinched the league title. Halifax City, as long as Amherst do not beat Truro 9-0, have clinched second and Amherst have clinched 3rd. Dartmouth City and Halifax FC are tied, with the latter holding the tiebreaker. Moncton hold a slight lead over Charlottetown, 29 points to 26, but do not play today. In the results, North Sydney defeated Halifax FC, and Prince Edward Island defeated Halifax City. So, a tie or win by Dartmouth, and they take the 4th place spot, and a Globe Cup position. Saint John beat Fredericton, Lunenburg beat Edmundston, and Amherst and Truro drew 4-4. Dartmouth gave up a 2-0 lead, but were still able to tie Wolfville, giving them the 4th place. In the last match of the day, Charlottetown avoided the relegation playoff, and defeated Yarmouth 2-1, to get 29 points. They, however, do have the tiebreaker over Moncton.

A great season comes to a great end for some teams. Truro survived an onslaught in the final third of the season to capture the League Title, while Halifax City were able to finish second with a great record. Dartmouth City surprised many people, and were able to reach the Globe Cup. Halifax FC, although they did not reach the Globe Cup, certainly will be a good team in the next few years. PEI, who finished 6th, are certainly happy with this year. FC Edmundston did not reach the Globe Cup, but certainly put on a great show for fans of Le Madawaska, and will be proud of this season's result. Lunenburg will wonder what could have been in the last third of the season, as will Saint John and Fredericton. Wolfville's season was up and down, and in the end, they remain in the Premier Division to get back into the title hunt next year. North Sydney's late win streaks couldn't propel them out of the bottom 5, and neither could Yarmouth's. Charlottetown made it out of the Relegation Playoff on the last game of the year, sending Moncton to meet League 2's representative at this tournament. Speaking of League-2.......

It's the Scotiabank Cup! The premier cup competition in the Maritimes, the cup features teams from all 3 divisions, and sees the winner advance to the Cygnus Cup. This year's final will be hosted at the Halifax Metro Stadium, home of Halifax City. City will hope to reach that final, but they'll have a tough road to get there. With 36 teams, the Qualification Round will see the bottom 4 Division 3 teams play off. The winner will play the 32nd ranked team, and the winner will reach the finals. Then, it's single elimination, from the Round of 32 to the Finale. Here we go!

Edmundston. Le Madawaska, the 'Crown Jewel of Francophone New Brunswick'. The team of FC Edmundston didn't have the best regular season, but this cup run is certainly one to be remembered. On the other hand, Club Acadie de Shippagan are one of the lowest seeds at the start of this cup, and now advance to the finals. The only clubs based in primarily Francophone communities will play for the Scotiabank Cup. Halifax Metro Stadium is the place, and the Scotiabank Cup is at stake. Here we go!

FC Edmundston 1-1 Club Acadie de Shippagan (1-1 AET, 4-3 pen.)

Wow. What a game. Edmundston's Alain Loyes' 78th minute strike thought that would be enough to give Le Madawaska the victory. But CAS wouldn't give up, and Jerome Aubergement would tie the game in the 91st minute. Extra time would see no settlement, so the fans in Halifax had to stay put for now. Aubergement scored for CAS, Noland for Edmundston. Leland scored for CAS again, and Perselle matched for Edmundston. Pelletier scored on Pelletier for CAS to give them 3 goals in the penalty time, and Adrian Bouchard evened it again. Finally, Cloutier missed for CAS. It was hometown boy, from Edmundston, Alain Loyes up to shoot. His strike went right to the top left corner, and hit the mesh. It was a cup win for Edmundston!

AmpiSport Sicoutimont Champion's League Preview: 1/2

Transfer season's over, the World Cup is around the corner, and so is the ASSCL! Lac-Drouin St-Pierre look to defend their title, but Real Ile Perrot and Emperor Hill are right behind them, and are closing the game between Les Regulaires and the rest of the league. Due to the World Cup, the season will take place in two halves: March-May (28 games), and August-October (30 games). In between these regular season games, the Coupe Nationale, using last season's seedings, will take place. Without further ado, here are the first 15 teams of the ASSCL we will be previewing in detail. For the last 15 teams, the Starting XI will be listed as well as a projection for the year. !

Lac-Drouin St-Pierre
Last Season: 1
Offseason: Some big moves were made by LDSP this offseason. Firstly, they added Saville Berie from Wight to their midfield line for the long run, able to get him for an undisclosed fee. Northern Sunrise Islands defender Tuniquinio soon followed, joining the club for another undisclosed fee, and Guayabalnese star striker Rodolfo Zelaya joined the forward line for $6 million dollars. At the transfer deadline, the team made 2 acquisitions, gaining Louis Dubois, the Valladar midfield playing in Mytannion, and Formerio Irturalde joined the team as a striker for free. LDSP's directors hope that this will allow them to take another title.
Preview: LDSP only gained this offseason, with 3 star strikers, and a top-notch core at midfield and defence. Real Ile Perrot will provide a tough challenge, but LDSP will finish 1st.

Preview: While the clubs around them got better, CRSD stayed put at the deadline. This could hurt them, and we think that it will. City will finish 5th this season.

Emperor Hill Rangers
Last Season: 3
Offseason: EH didn't do much, but what they did do was important. Mytanar youth star Pirmin Struud joined the squad for a fee of 8 million dollars. Struud joins the team after successful seasons in Mytannion, and joins star striker Yakoya Suzuka on the top line. Will it be enough to boost Emperor Hill to their 2nd title?
Preview: Emperor Hill made more moves then most teams below them, but with other teams gaining players (Real Ile Perrot) above them, and Real ready to challenge for the title, we think Rangers fans will see more of 3rd place.

Real Ile Perrot
Last Season: 4th
Offseason: It could be said Real won the Deadline Day for Sicoutian clubs. 3 top players come to the club, Valladar midfield Pedro Jaramillio to the club for 9.5 million. He'll definitely be the stalwart on that midfield line. 2 Mytanar strikers also joined the club, Bartolomej Ivanov, an 18 year old future star, and Mytanar National Team striker Matija Trgocevic. Real didn't know they would be getting the player until the 11th hour of deadline day, but everything fell into place, and 26 million dollars fell out of Real's hands, that being the transfer fee for the Mytanar star.
Preview: Can 35.5 million dollars buy a championship? Maybe, but not this year. We predict Real will finish 2nd.

Earthquake Champlain
Last Season: 5th
Offseason: Losing Neal Kent to 1896 Ebor was a big hit for Champlain, but they knew it was coming. That's why the team invested in Roman Ang, the Sangti defender, to replace him. The club hopes Ang can cover the hole Kent's departure caused.
Preview: Neal Kent was the only thing keeping EC top 5 in the league, and he's gone now. Earthquake softened the fall by signing Ang, but they'll still drop. We think that drop will be to 9th.

Knights FC
Last Season: 6th
Offseason: The other Sicoutian club interested in Trgocevic, they dropped their offer once it became clear Real Ile Perrot were the frontrunners. Knights did not make any other moves, and keep the same team that they had in the last seasons.
Preview: Knights didn't gain anything, but could move up to 4th due to Earthquake's drop. We think that is what will happen, as they will overcome the other clubs and finish 4th.
Starting XI: Bourdette--Felix-Girard-Daoust--Cartier-Perillard-Quessy-Bois--Moreau-Cinqmars-Chalut

FC Ile Perrot
Last Season: 7th
Offseason: Ile Perrot were rumoured to be wanting to make some moves, but could not get the job done at the transfer deadline. So, they will also keep the same lineup as they had last season.
Preview: Last season's 7th place finish was about what should be happening for this club. This year, due to the drop of Earthquake Champlain projected, will want to move up and finish 6th.

Olympique Beaudette
Last Season: 8th
Offseason: Olympique didn't do anything this offseason, and that'll hurt more than help them.
Preview: 8th was where they finished last year, and 10th is where they will finish this year.

Lac-Nord Etoiles
Last Season: 9th
Offseason: No large moves to talk about. Lac-Nord did, however, update their stadium in hopes of making a bid for the Series B Champion's Cup Finals. Lac-Nord Stadium moves up from around 50,000 seats to 62,000 seats. The club would love to bring a UICA tournament to the city, as it could attract fans from the world to the squad, and maybe even attract a few foreign players to join the club for a championship push.
Preview: This team is better than 9th. By 2 places, and we think that they will move up to 7th place this season.
Starting XI: Huot--Edouard-Divounneur-Gaetan--Leroux-Couet-Barrette-Leroy--Chalifour-Legault-Boule

Seasid FC
Last Season: 10th
Offseason: The only football club in Strait City, Manicougan, fields a lineup featuring players all from that city. It's a slice of hometown pride the bigger clubs can't afford to have for the sake of their title contention, but in a laid-back community such as Strait City, the fans would rather see a band of hometown lads finish 7th then a band of foreigners or, gasp, Lac-Drouiners, come close to the title.
Preview: A better team than 10th, but not as good as 5th, we think Seasid will finish 8th place this season.
Starting XI: Hetu--Sessi-Sciverit-Sansouci--Gaudreau-Levesque-Mousseau-Germain--Parmontellier-Labossiere-Sylvain

Beavers Lac-Seneca
Last Season: 11th
Offseason: Beavers did not do much, gaining Thiery Lampone from Pierre Beach, but that's all, and it will hurt the club once again. A team that has won Ligue-2 and advanced to the Globe Cup finds themselves at the middle of the table because they do not try to attract young talent to the squad, homegrown or foreign. Maybe this is the year they will realize they need it.
Preview: Beavers will finish 11th this season once again, and we think that's where every logical prediction would put them.

FC Pierre Beach
Last Season: 12th
Offseason: Pierre Beach lost star striker Thiery Lampone to Beavers, which hurts them quite a lot. However, they covered their tracks by signing Xavier Alaindu to the squad, and will look to stay in the top 15 this year.
Preview: Lampone is a big loss, and Alaindu can't match to him. Pierre Beach will drop 1 spot and finish 13th this season.

Sporting Lac-Bouchard
Last Season: 13th
Offseason: Alianza F.C sent Sporting 25 million dollars for the services of Louis Desjardins, a loss which will be mourned for years to come by SLB fans. So much so, that they don't have a bona fide number 1 striker this year, or a midfield, or defender, or even a number 1 keeper! The power struggle at Sporting will continue onto the field, it seems, and our Starting XI can be seen as a guess at best, where as with other teams, it was confirmed.
Preview: A disaster for the team off the field this offseason, and Sporting will feel it: All the way to 20th.
Starting XI: Chicoine--Bourassa-D'Aoust-Vernais--Duplais-Blais-Gaillard-Tetrauillet--Doyon-Latimier-Beauchamps

Riviere St-Denis City
Last Season: 14th
Offseason: No news to report here. The Board of Directors met to consider changing the name of the team due to the similarities between its name and the name of the other RSD top division club, and decided to meet on it again at the end of this year. Could it happen? Possible names could be Riviere St-Denis United, Riviere St-Denis FC, or the original name for the club, River Castle. Fans would likely support the last one, as the stadium is already known as Castle on the River. The 'Castle' in question would be the first one built in the country, that still dominates the RSD skyline.
Preview: No news was bad news for RSDC. The manager retired for good, and the replacement is likely not as good. Other small moves regarding the club that weren't newsworthy could hurt them. But the loss of the manager is the biggest, and will set the club back. 11 positions, we think to 25th.

Last Season: 15th
Offseason: Not much to say here, it was a simple offseason for FCSS. A few friendlies with other SIcoutian clubs here and there, small player movements, but not much to say.
Preview: The simple offseason could benefit FC St-Simeon. The team they have was a better team than 15th last season, and will be better this year: by 1 place, moving up to 14th. If this team played as well as it should, they could make it to 10th or 11th.

Preview: Brighton, a former Globe Cup qualifier, is better than this. But the team doesn't have great chemistry, and we think they'll move up to 15th.

The Coupe is back, with a new format! 46 teams will contest the cup. The Series-2 teams will play in the Playoff Access Stage, through April and early May. The 2 final teams from here advance to the Cup Finals, and it is 1 v 32, 2 v 31, and so on. An eventual winner will be declared. So, who do we think will win the Coupe Nationale? Real Ile Perrot. While they may not be predicted to win the league title, we think they have enough depth to reach the Cup Final. What about LDSP? They have been prone to upsets in the past, and we think that streak will continue here. Who will Real beat in the finals? Brighton United. Where will the Coupe Nationale Final be held? -The season begins with a Capital Derby, with City defeating St-Pierre to grab the victory here. Formerio Irturalde got his first goal in Sicoutimont, but it wouldn't be enough, with City taking the match 2-1. Well, 'The Bloodmatch Part II' is what today's FC Ile Perrot vs Olympique Beaudette contest could be called. Down 4-0 already, Olympique decided to test the toughest squad in the league, which ended badly for them: Damien Arragne fought Alex Chapin, while Vito Vachel fought Luca Deserres. Arragne was the bloody winner in his contest, the red on the Beaudette jersey meshing well with the blood flowing from Chapin's mouth, and Vachel getting victory over Deserres, only to be tackled by Arragne himself. All 4 of those players were red carded, Arragne suspended for 5 games, Deserres 2 games, Vachel and Chapin 1 game. It was another brutal game, and Damien Arragne will have to learn to control his temper if he wants a shot at the national team. He, by the way, had 2 of the FCIP goals, so is talented enough to make the squad. By the way, if you're wondering how fights break out on the pitch, it dates back to the old rules of friendly contests, were most players in the ASSCL have played before they entered the ASSCL, and most players have been on hockey teams, where fighting is common. Sometimes, the fights carry over to the pitch. This season has seen a surge in fighting violence, however.

Lac-Drouin St-Pierre saw Rodolfo Zelaya's 17th of the year give them a win over bloody FC Ile Perrot, missing captain Damien Arragne for his 5-game suspension. Elsewhere, Olympique Beaudette certainly missed Vito Vachel, drawing 1-1 with Lions Clermont.

Once again, HandballSicoutimont are home to the current World Club Handball Champions, and the second best league in the multiverse, behind the league of perennial club handball superpower Polar Islandstates. Ile Perrot will look to accomplish a league title here, allowing them the best start to their title defence. They'll face a large challenge, however, from the La Espanola Beluga Whales, who reached the Quarterfinals of the WCHC tournament, and will look to go a little bit further this time around. Series of Hurricanes Strike East Coast, ASSCL Season Prematurely Ended

Yeah, it sucks. Sicoutimont's tropical storm season usually lasts from Mid-August to Late December. It's never happened before, but the danger has been there. And this time, it struck. Hurricane Martin hit first on the night of August 5th, before the next round of ASSCL games was to begin. Games in the areas affected were postponed, but it was Hurricane Maurice that did the most damage. Hitting the coast south of St-Simeon before moving north, it wiped out the power in most of Manicougan Province, and some of St-Simeon Province. San Cristobal took a heavy beating, losing most power. Maurice was the 3rd most powerful hurricane ever to hit the nation, and Martin the 6th. Areas were flooded on the east coast, but there was damage done. The ASSCL needed to inspect the stadiums in areas affected. Stadiums in areas affected were:

Out of those, 6 were deemed unsafe, 1 was completely destroyed (Seasid FC), and 1 was potentially play-able. With most of the country suffering from the devastation, the ASSCL decided to cancel the season. The Coupe Nationale Finals will still be played, as they were out of the affected areas. Real Ile Perrot were declared the ASSCL's Champion's Cup qualifier and Copa de Campeones (Rushmore) qualifier as they were first, and Lac-Drouin St-Pierre, Lac-Nord Etoiles and the Lac-Drouin Capitales were declared Globe Cup Qualifiers. FC Edmundston and Nordique Val-Maurice, although in the relegation areas, will not be relegated due to the abrupt end to the season. The Series-2 season, already completed before the hurricane hit, will be considered completed and will have SBCC Qualifiers.

-Matija Trgocevic's goal here shows that he probably would have won the scoring title had the season continued, and Victor Clarke added a goal in Real's 2-1 victory over FC Cote. In Ile Perrot, the game was not what it was hyped as, and with the ASSCL's President, Rene Rochefort and the SFA Director of Player Safety in attendance, there were no chances given for a brawl. Damien Arragne scored, sending FIP to take on their cross-town rivals in the Coupe Final. Can Real Ile Perrot accomplish a double, or will FC Ile Perrot steal the title away in the derby at Val-Maurice.

-Bartolomej Ivanov's 25th minute penalty turned out to be the only marker in the cup victory for Real Ile Perrot. Although it isn't technically a double, as they did not officially win the league title, it is the next best thing to fans of the club, and the team players.

LBS Season 11: Format Changed!

Yep, that's right, the format changed. Out of the 16 teams, the top 3 make the play-offs and qualify for the BCCC, and the 4th and 5th teams, 'wild cards', have a 1-game playoff for the 4th play-off spot and the 4th BCCC spot. It's expected that the LBS will move to a conference format next season, and they want to try out the smaller play-off format. Here are the results from Season 11!

Counties' Cup Rugby

Rugby is one of the most popular sports in the Maritimes, so it was no surprise when the Counties' Cup was first created. The counties of each Province will compete amongst each other, and the top 5 teams will compete for qualification to the R.U.C.T Seasogs Championship. The format will be: The 15 counties of New Brunswick: One team chosen at random gets a bye, while the other 14 are randomly paired for a 1-game play-off. The play-off format continues until the finals. The 16 counties and Regional Municipalities of Nova Scotia: Round of 16 randomly paired for 1 game play-off, and so on. In Prince Edward Island, the 3 counties will all play each other 1 time, and the winner qualifies. The 2 finalists from New Brunswick and the 2 finalists from Nova Scotia qualify, as does the Prince Edward Island champion.
