OOC: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=252405&p=15570780&sid=c59886accc2fbf836f8ff0601e6e657a#p15570780

June, 2013
Shortly after the creation of the Grand Coalition, it was announced by president Maximus Tyber declared that, in the interest of creating long lasting ties between member nations, that United Tiberia would host a huge meeting of nations in the capital of Tiber City. There will be a huge fair in the city;s central district, to welcome thousands of tourists from member nations. They will flock to the many markets and witness the Grand Coalitions own version of the historic "world's fair", showcasing cultural and technological marvels from each member nation. There will also be diplomatic delegations that will arrive, to discuss important matter concerning the buildup of the region, and talks concerning trade and military alliance. At the same time, outside the city of Praetoria, a large military convention will occur, with the elite units of each nations military being invited to participate, to have friendly competitions in skill, as well as cooperating in some co-nation war games. Each nation will be allowed to send one platoon of basic infantry, one platoon of first strike forces (rangers, Tiberian alpha corps, elite soldiers), and one squad of the most elite troops in the entire country.

Rules:
1. No godmodding, especially in the military bit (remember, its not about winning, but making an entertaining story)
2. OP's word is law
3. no explicite content, some swearing may be acceptable in the right situation
4. try to make each post at least a few lines long, no tiny single liners!

July 16th, 2013
Tiber City, United Tiberia
the Capital was abuzz with activity. Streamers of every color flew down from the buildings as huge crowds began flocking to the central district park, where the great "Grand Coalition Fair" was just opening. Children flew large, many colored kites, as nine giant hot air balloons loomed overhead, each one painted the national colors of one of the member nations. The streets were filled with the cheers and yells of thousands upon thousands of denizens and tourists alike, eager to look at the many exhibits and innovations of the various countries. There was everything from street performers to prototype lasers, and everything in between.

Meanwhile, The Government district looked like an armed citadel. The heads of state of many of the member nations would be attending, along with many of their high ranking staff, so naturally security was tight. Members of the elite Onyx Guard had put the entire district under what was essentially martial law, with snipers on many of the buildings, patrols with attack dogs and machine guns, and even a few tanks...just in case. Every door of every government building was blocked by a checkpoint with sniffer dogs and several Onyx Guards, and there were attack helicopter fly-overs every half hour. Premier Maximus Tyber stepped out of the Executive Palace gates, and felt a cool breeze touch his face as he looked down to the pavilion below, where several black limos were pulling up, and members of each delegation were being searched before they would walk up the many stairs to the gates of the palace, which would be shut behind them as they would have their meeting...

Camp Requiem, ten miles outside Praetoria

The Tiberian soldiers watched as the transport helicopters tore up the forest as they landed. Soldiers sporting emblems from every member nation were being dropped off, and led to their various camps. Camp Requiem was set up so that each mini camp (on for each nation), were set up around the main base camp in a semi circle. The main base camp would store the main supplies, and where they would all meet before the war games, which would take place in the hills, forests, and even on Mt. Praetor, surrounding the camp. The Tiberian army troops felt geared up and ready, and were excited to test their new allies' mettle. They looked to their left, and saw a platoon of Alphas come marching out of the brush. These warriors inspired a sense of awe in the army troops, who knew full well exactly how effective these men were. Every one of them bore scars of both their training since the age of six, and full on battle wounds. They were among some of the deadliest forces in the region, if not the world. But even the Alphas, elite, Spartan-esque warriors that they were, kept a distance from the last group to emerge from the Tiberian side. A seven man squad, of the scariest looking men in the whole camp. The Omegas barely ever left their shadowy fort in the northern wastes of Tiberia, and even their comrades in arms were truly scared of them. Omegas are selected from only the most promising, skillful, and vicious Alpha recruits at the age of ten. They are then put through the most brutal training a child can endure, and emerge as cold, calculating killers. The Omega teams hadn't even been seen in public since the end of the last war Tiberia fought in, and even then were only seen by select members of the Alpha Scouts who helped them track their kills.

Tiber City
Zoe and Viktor Holub, the dignitaries of the CNA, walked through the park where the Grand Coalition Fair was being held. They looked at some of the stalls and displays. "I wonder if they have new mining technology, I heard the Redmont People's Mining Guild saying something about new equipment" Viktor said. "Of course you did, I mean one of your fellow Conclave members is a Redmont, she probably knows what the Mining Guild needs" Zoe said. They stopped near a food cart run by a Tiberian man and decided to get something to eat.

Approaching Camp Requiem
Tayla Redmont, the leader of CNA's Special Operations and Tactics, and the CNA Army, sat in the truck at the head of the convoy that was taking her and her troops to the Tiberian base for the military convention. She looked over her supplies list at what they had. "Samples of each of our incendiary small-arms munitions...less then lethal munitions for the war games...specs for our new military development programs...combat animals for the Beastmasters...equipment for my troops for the war games...it all seems to be in order" she said. Hanna, her best friend, second-in-command, and the best sniper in Seraph Team Alpha looked over her shoulder. "Yep, it all was loaded up, I oversaw it" she said. As the truck pulled up to the area where they would set up their camp, Tayla quickly drew up the layout of how she wanted the camp to be.

Roan got out of the car and stretched his legs. Another beautiful day in Tiber City. He made his way with the two members of his council he brought with him. The first was an older woman named Margret Thratch who was his minister of foreign affairs, the other member was a younger man by the name of George Sadowski, the current Minister of Defense. As they entered the building there were of course checked by the onyx guardsmen. They filed into the meeting room and quietly took their seats.

Camp Requiem

Captain Black made his way to the tent set up for the Slavicska Security Force, being the smallest military in the region meant they had the smallest camp area. It was fine though, there were only 20 of them. Lieutenant Forester came into the tent.

"Sir all personnel are accounted for. Although they are wondering just like me, why we even came to this exercise. We are a defense force for Slavicska, not an army." She said letting down her auburn hair they neatly went to the base of her neck.

"Lieutenant this is not about being an army and trying to fight another military. It is about visiting with our allies and building unity together."

"Sir I understand that. I will say though, I do not think its very fair for us to be doing many exercises on land. The SSF is a naval unit first. Lets see them try to best us on the water. They wouldn't be able to."

"Tanya, relax. It's all fun and games. No go get the men ready. I will be coming by for an inspection soon."

"Yes sir!" Lieutenant Forester said with a salute before leaving the tent.

Elijah opened his eyes. It was early in the morning but he just couldn't sleep anymore. He was to excited to go exploring downtown Tiber City. He still couldn't believe he had won the trip. He quickly got dressed and grabbed his wallet and key to his room. He made his was down to the concierge desk to find out the best place to get breakfast in the city. She suggested Tiber Cafe two blocks down the road. As he left the hot he considered getting a can but stopped. He was on vacation, he wanted to explore. He decided to walk the two blocks. When he got to the Cafe it looked amazing. Everywhere you looked you could see signs of the festival that had started that morning. When he went to take a seat at the counter he saw that all the chairs had a flag of a different nation in the region. He decided to take a seat with Slavicskas flag.

"What can I get ya hun?" A lady in a light green outfit asked him.

Elijah looked through the menu for a second then decided. "I will have the UT Omelette with hash browns and three slices of bacon. Oh and a glass of milk please."

"Sure thing hun, I will get it right out to you." The waitress said then turned to put in his order.

Tiber City, United Tiberia
Director K. Ikaro walked through the city streets, looking around at the elaborate decorations and formidable military vehicles. He was a tired old man, battered by the Revolution many years ago and now worn down by so many years of endless work in the Bureau of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations. Still, he planned to remain in service for a few more years, gradually passing the reins to his successor.

"Would you like to have a look at the national culture demonstrations over here?" asked Nikodim Miroslava, his assistant for this mission.

"No, you can go ahead," Ikaro wheezed back, sitting down on a bench to rest his legs and catch his breath.

"Very well," Nikodim said, promptly bowing to his superior before turning around and walking off. The guards exchanged glances, nodded, then split up, one staying behind and one accompanying the aide.

Near Camp Requiem
The Soodean soldiers climbed out of their canvas-topped supply trucks and stepped onto the grass, looking forward to the coming exercises. The Footsoldiers stood out from the terrain in their plain tan uniforms, holding their AK74s at their sides as they wandered into circles and began talking about the coming battle. They weren't the best-trained or the best-equipped units in the field today, but when the time came, they hoped to demonstrate their discipline and fighting spirit.

Off to one side, the ten elite Guardiya were already scouting around the terrain, their Sergeant pointing out good defensive terrains and the right paths of attack to make - or defend against. These soldiers wore dark olive uniforms and carried modern equipment, including the new AK-105 carbine that was now being issued to vehicle-transported troops. The Guardiya were a little concerned about being so far from the armored units that usually transported them into battle, but they would have to adapt to this situation.

Meanwhile, the squad of Desantn'ang Falshirvieren stood in an orderly row at the heart of the Soodean base camp. The Sergeant shouted a national pledge, and the soldiers repeated each line in perfect unison. These soldiers carried the latest equipment available in the Imperium, including light body armor and AK-107 rifles. They were serious, stone-faced troops, the very epitome of honor and discipline; the other Soodean soldiers kept their distance from these men, but many were curious to see how well the legendary Airborne Elites would fare in the coming exercises.

After getting some food from the stall, Viktor and Zoe kept walking around the area for a bit. Then Zoe recognised someone. "Director Ikaro, it's good to see you again" she said, smiling warmly at her counterpart from the Soodean Imperium. "You're here for the meeting I take it?" she said. It had been some time since they had seen the Director. Last time was when they visited their allies, UK(W), for the King's Jubilee.

Camp Requiem, CNA mini-camp Navajo
Tayla finished getting into her officers uniform. She looked at the three stars that where now on the epaulette, sighing softly. "One more promotion and I get removed from field duty, I never thought I would be in this situation" she said. Hearing footsteps behind her snapped her out of her thoughts and she spun around to see Hanna. She smiled at her friend. "Are the troops assembled, Major?" she asked. "Yes, ma'am, they await your inspection" Hanna said. Hanna would be my choice for the position of 4-star general, she'd do better then me Tayla thought. Hanna tilted her head. "Permission to speak freely?" she asked. Tayla chuckled. "You always have permission my friend" Tayla said. Hanna looked at the floor quickly, then back to Tayla's eyes. "Apprehensive about any future promotion?" she asked. Tayla nodded. Hanna stepped close to Tayla, and put her hands on her shoulders. "Your need not worry, I'm sure someone else will step up if you refuse" she said. Tayla nodded. "Thank you, Hanna, your counsel always means a lot to me" she said softly. They hugged each other quickly and walked out to inspect the troops.

Major Ivy Cooper stood at the head of the Beastmasters squad, her tiger right beside her. The one thing about Beastmasters, all of them where anthromorphic animals. Ivy was, quite literally, a fox, an Arctic Fox to be exact. She stood to attention and saluted, her troops followed suit. Tayla stood in front of her. "How do I find you and your troops, Major Cooper?" she asked. "All present and on stand-by, ma'am" Ivy said. "Any concerns or requests?" Tayla asked. "Not that have been voiced to me" Ivy replied. "Very good, as you were Major" Tayla said, walking on to the next group, the Valkyries.

Major Charlotte Zorask stood at the head of the Valkyries squad, each with either a shotgun or SMG at their hip. She stood at attention as Tayla approached. "How do I find your troops, Major Zorask?" Tayla asked. "All present and awaiting orders, ma'am" Charlotte said. "Any concerns or requests?" Tayla inquired. "No, ma'am" Charlotte responded. "Very good, Major Zorask, as you were" Tayla said.

Hanna smiled as Tayla approached her. She had snuck down to her position while Tayla inspected the Valkyries. "How do I find our troops, Major Brown?" Tayla asked. "All present and ready for your go, ma'am, and no requests or concerns voiced" Hanna said.Tayla chuckled and smiled slightly. "Of course not" she said. She walked to her platform and stood facing the troops. "Welcome, to the Grand Coalition military convention and war games. I know you shall not let our side down, and shall conduct yourselves with the utmost honour and dignity, and wont cause to much trouble off the field. Have fun, make some friends, and if we win the games, or get some military agreements, such as multinational operations, or R&D stuff, then all the better for us. I ask what I always ask, do your best, and Achieve Victory through Strength and Honour!" Tayla said. Her troops clapped. Once they went back to standing at attention, Tayla continued. "Good luck, and return to your duties" she said. Hanna, being Tayla's adjutant as well as second-in-command gave the command everyone had been waiting for. "Camp Navajo, stand at ease! To your duties, quick, march!"

Director Ikaro stood up, coughing as his guard helped him up from the bench. "I'm here for the meeting, though it may be my last trip abroad before I retire. It should be interesting, to meet representatives from other nations here. Hopefully they share our views on honorable war." He chuckled, shaking his head. "Ah, but why am I still talking about work? It's good to see old friends here."

Camp Requiem, Soodean camp "Adler"
The soldiers were now out in the field training with their comrades-in-arms, getting ready for the coming war. Two sergeants were sparring against each other with their short swords, while the other Footsoldiers sat around the practice fight and cheered for their squad leaders. Sergeant Zhang, head of the Guardiya squad, watched the tan-uniformed soldiers cheer as one fighter pressed the other back, shaking his head in amusement. For all their time at the firing ranges, the Footsoldiers were still fresh recruits at heart, while Zhang and his men were veterans of several wars and deployments.

At this point, the leader of the Desantn'ang Falshirvieren approached the footsoldiers, signaling for one of them to train with his own unit. From so far away, Zhang couldn't hear what was being said; he only saw the young soldier walk over to the grey line of statue-still elites as the sergeant relayed orders to him. Then, at the commander's signal, the recruit picked up his assault rifle and swung it like a club, striking the first of the Elites squarely in the chest. Much to everyone's surprise, he man didn't even flinch. Then, as the recruit made a second strike, the Falshirvier swiftly grabbed the rifle mid-swing and spun it around, so that the footsoldier was suddenly pinned with his back to the stone-faced soldier and the rifle across his throat. Seeing this, the other footsoldiers laughed, abandoning the old sparring fight to watch their friend try to pry himself out of his adversary's iron grip. The sergeant of the Falshirvieren smiled faintly, then signaled for the man to release his grip. The soldier complied, and the trainee backed away, still startled by the suddenness of his target's moves. So these are the best of the best, Zhang thought, watching the contrast of chattering new recruits and silent, steeled veterans.

Tiber City,

The helicopter went down into Uniaris Camp, quickly descending until it landed. When the rotors stopped turning, ambassador Al-Naghan exited. He gave a quick look around.
The first Uni squad was busy training assault tactics, even now masked.
This was nothing special, of course. All Unitaristic troops were always masked when in uniform, and they always looked threatening. Al-Naghan had seen masses of these men parade once, and it was quite a sight, but even now they looked fierce.

http://cdn.windows7themes.net/wallpaper/homefront-2.jpg

The camp itself was guarded heavily guarded by clusters of Region's Rangers. A somewhat oddly familiar name, as these men were certainly no men to be familiar with. These were hard men, trained in the favor of the Regions' hard compulsory service.
Their outfits were not made to maneauvre easily with, but they weren't made for maneauvring, as this was usually unnecessary. Where there were Rangers, there was overwhelming firepower and ground support, as well as computer guided grenade launchers. Their glowing masks only added to the intimidation.

http://www.gameland.ru/post/37675/img/Killzone2-07.jpg

But the most fearsome were the Commandoes. They had no rare names, just... Commandoes. They needed no names. Their reputation preceded them.
Graduating from a brutal training from which 80 % either died from malnourishment, wounds or genetic experimentation, or went mad from the stress, they were nearly superhuman. Equipped with the best armor and near-futuristic Gauss Rifles money could buy, no one even dared look in their direction, for fear of being stared back at...

OOC: Check my factbook for descriptions and pictures of the different groups I talk about

Camp Requiem
A few of the Alphas and Omegas were watching the other groups carefully. A few of the alphas were watching the so called elites proving their mettle with a pain resistance test, swinging guns at each other and the like. The alphas chuckled to themselves. These guys didn't know pain like the Omegas did. Several of these warriors removed their helmets to show completely bald heads, and on the back of each head, was the greek omega symbol, burned into their flesh with a poker. These men would die as soldiers.

After a few minutes, a grizzly Tiberian army commander stepped up to a podium in the center of the camp "Noble Soldiers of the Grand Coalition!" he began, shouting into a microphone "You all are here, to learn the tactics and fighting styles of you future allies. This meeting shall be known as Operation White Flag, and will be a one week, no break battle royale. Each nation will have one day to prepare, upon which time they will be airlifted to a random landing zone around the valley, without any information about the surrounding area. You will each wear chest plates, and use rifles equipped with soft-rubber bullets and bean bags. Upon hitting the said chest plate with one of these projectiles, which should knock the soldier off his feet, the chest plate will register that soldier as dead and he or she will be out of the exercise, and will be airlifted out. The nation with the most number of troops still alive at the end of one week will be declared the winner. You have exactly twnety four hours from this point to collect your gear, ammunition, and supplies. That is all."

Tiber City
Premier Tyber sat patiently waiting for the other diplomats. The delegation from Slavicska was the first to arrive. All three of them entered the room, and exchanged greetings with their Tiberian counterparts. Maximus approached Roan immediately. "I can't tell you how happy we are to have you in the country, and we sincerely hope this meeting can get underway shortly."

Ambassador Al-Naghan approached the premier for a quick statement.
"Premier? I'm sorry, but... no one said we could not use our equipment. The Commandoes... The genetic experimentation has somewhat mutated them... Without their suits, they die. And well, they could use normal weapons, but they are most proficient with their Gauss Rifles. These can be tuned down to non-lethal if necessary, however."

The premier smiled. You misunderstand sir, they will be allowed to use all their native equipment and armor, just the weapons would be modified for the nonlethal rounds. If they can tune their gauss rifles to that setting, that will register on the chest plate as well.

Al-Naghan gave a happy smile.
"Thank you very much. This will make my men very happy. Or would have, if they were to have any emotion of that kind... I never did seem to find out."

Camp Requiem

Two Commando's saw the Omega's take of their helmets, saw the Greek sign branded on their foreheads.
They looked at one another through their shining eyes, and the mics in their helmets loaded sounds of horrible, croaking barks of laughter, as if their vocal cords were somehow mutated, which they were.
Other than that though, they did absolutely nothing to prove that they were somehow superior, just standing in front of their black tent and laughing. Just... Laughing.

"As it is good to see you once more, I just hope a few alliances and agreements can be made" Zoe said. She did extend her hand slightly just in case Director Ikaro fainted, he didn't look to well, not well at all, the only thing that stopped her was his guard was there, with what seemed to be a tight grip on the Director's arm. Just then, the Valkyrie who had been assigned as the second bodyguard for Zoe walked over to them. "Ma'am, I think we should go into where the meeting is now" she said. Zoe nodded and smiled at her bodyguard. "Of course" she said. "Oh, kalin taios" she added in Volarian, inclining her head towards Director Ikaro. The girl nodded and pulled a small oxygen tank and mask out of her backpack. "Here, the oxygen mask should help with your cough, I hope" she said. She was one of the newest Valkyries, only 16 years old at least.

Camp Requiem
"Well this is an interesting turn of events, we where ready for a urban warfare battle and it seems it'll be an all out battle in a valley, possibly a forested valley" Tayla said, as her command team gathered with her. "Our combat animals know it's a wargames scenario, but I don't know how we'll go with all of them, since we choose mostly the mountain breeds, because their fur would blend in with an urban setting, we have three of each animal for forest" Ivy Cooper said. "And some of our tactics wont fit, I mean now possibility of civilian vehicles for our mechanics, no security and communications for Chandra to hack, and our explosives work off the flashbang and paint setting, not pellets. The war games explosives could be refitted and used as something like an IED, I'd just need to get my hands on some of those pellets to make them" Hanna said. "No real need for medics either, but our combat training will come in handy" Charlotte Zorask said. "So it's agreed, we shall run in a guerrilla/hit and run fashion. Okay, gather the troops, get their camo set to forest, since that's the most likely biome, considering what we've seen of this nation so far" Tayla said. The three commanders saluted and moved off. Hanna did her best to acquire some of the pellets, without digging into the ammo stores to much, so she could make the IEDs.

Roan greeted the Premier. "It is good to see you old friend. It has been far to long since our last meeting. I trust that this meeting will bring about a stronger alliance between all nation of The Grand Coalition."

Roan took his seat as other delegates arrived and wished to greet the Premier.

The premier shook Roan's hand warmly, before taking his seat amongst the other delegates. "Most....esteemed leaders, of our grand coalition, we are gather here today to discuss this new, great alliance between our countries. The first item on our list of international agreements, is the free passage of both civilian and military sea/air vessels from each nations through Coalition territory. We believe that in order to safeguard our people, their must be the option to build at least two or three refueling and repair bases on soil of other nations, to increase cooperation and unity."

Camp Requiem
The night was being spent in solitary preperation. Many of the normal army troops ate and talked, even sharing information and stories with the men of the other nations, while most of the special teams kept to themselves. The Omegas weren't even staying at the proper camp, having chosen to sleep in the branches of trees where they felt "more ready". The alphas just sat around their tent, many checking their weapons, and some even putting fresh designs on the black metal face masks that could be attached to their combat helmets (see factbook). Some campsite near them was playing an old Tiberian tune, that hadn't been played since practically the days of the War of Union. A few men began humming along, and even the foreign troops picked up a few bars. Their they sat, soldiers about to shoot at eachother, all enjoying an old war tune together, as one. In the distance, the dull drone of transport choppers grew slowly louder...

Director Ikaro walked into the meeting room and took a seat beside the representatives from the CNA. He had taken a little oxygen from the mask, and his voice was clear enough that he could speak in front of the other delegates. He whispered for a moment with his aide, Nikodim Miroslava, then nodded and turned to face the Premier.

"While we appreciate the need for military cooperation, our people will not tolerate the construction of foreign military bases on our soil unless each one is independently approved by the Emperor himself. However, we may be able to permit the construction of neutral repair and refuel stations, provided that they are owned by the Coalition collectively and not by any one nation."

The Footsoldiers sat in a circle away from the main groups of other soldiers, some of them casting concerned glances at the strange armor and uniforms of the foreign elites. The rest of them were carefully disassembling and cleaning their AK-74 rifles, modifying the magazines and barrels to fit the new rubber bullets. One of the sergeants was playing the accordion, singing an old folk song from Novaya Rus' Province.

"Listen up, men," Sergeant Zhang said, standing up in front of the other soldiers but speaking to make sure he was out of earshot of the foreign units. "The opponents we face in this exercise may be fearsome and brutal, but the terms of battle run to our advantage; genetic conditioning will do them no good in a one-shot-kill match. As soon as that helicopter lets us off on the ground, we will regroup and find a good defensive position, preferably a cliffside plateau with good rock and tree cover, to wait out the main battle and deliver prevision fire on anyone approaching."

Zoe listened to what Director Ikaro said in response to the proposition. After whispering and discussing with her husband, Viktor Holub, whom this decision would also effect, she stood up. "We agree that refuel and repair stations, or bases or whatever you wish to call them, would be handy, we think maybe being on the land of our nations might not be in the best interests of a speedy and decisive response, should one of our nations come under fire, or be in need of those facilities. After all, waiting for say, half a squadron of fighters to return from the mainland when the battle is well out to sea would put enormous strain on any of us during battle. Which is why we suggest the construction of off-shore derricks, similar to the ones used for off-shore drilling for oil, to act as such stations. This would allow our forces better opportunity to quickly refuel and rearm, and stay in the air and at sea longer due to less fuel being used during battle between the site of the battle and the mainland" she said.

As the night fell the CNA forces gathered for their final meetings and discussions before they turned in. But that wouldn't be for a few hours. As they ate their dinner they chatted about tactics. "So, since Soodean Imperium is here, should we work with them like we did in Vingartha, or see how we fair against them?" Hanna asked. "I say with, then against see who lasts, but we'd need to run it by their commander" Ivy Cooper said. "Good idea Ivy, you go see their commander" Tayla said, smirking. "I should never have suggested it" she said, chuckling softly and standing up. "I wonder how they'll receive me" she pondered as she walked away, her tail swishing side to side slightly. "How indeed....now, if we can't work with them, I suggest we either make a temporary camp and move every 6 hours at least, unless we need to move more often, or find a nice cliff or cave we can work from" Charlotte said. "Agreed, it'll also give me and Chandra the best opportunity for sniper and counter-sniper operations" Hanna said. Chandra gave her a high five.

Ivy sighed as she walked up to the Soodean Imperium camp. "Hail to the Soodean soldiers! I come bearing word from General Tayla Redmont of the CNA!" she said loudly, giggling softly, waiting for the response.

"We second that movement," Director Ikaro said. "I propose that the Coalition investigate unclaimed small islands and shallow areas to facilitate the construction of concrete bases. These sites could serve as refueling piers for ships, and as 'permanent carriers' for the landing of sea-patrol aircraft. It will require more effort and maintenance, but as Zoe Holub has pointed out, it will also substantially expand the area of sea which we are able to patrol, and serve as a major defensive advantage should the Coalition be invaded."

Sergeant Zhang turned around to face the newcomer, and the other soldiers stood and saluted. Murmurs ran back and forth as Ivy Cooper stepped into the light from their campfire. Anthropomorphic creatures were a rare sight in the Soodean Imperium, although some had immigrated to Aquilon Province in the last few decades. Some of the soldiers backed away, unfamiliar with animal features on a human; others inched forward, but most remained in place. The Falshirvieren simply remained silent, taking a mental note in the same way that they would memorize information about another nation's weapons or uniforms.

"And Hail to the CNA," Zhang said at last, bowing to Ivy. "You mentioned Tayla Redmont - I recall that name, from the Vingarthian Crisis. Welcome to our camp - what do you have to discuss?"

Zoe smiled and nodded. "Yes, the cost would be large, but if the Coalition was to maybe set up something where we would contribute money, supplies and/or personnel to the construction of these. Of course the CNA wouldn't need as much from that program, as we have some old oil derricks and sea-based defence platforms we could fix up and re-purpose" she added.

Ivy was used to people from outside the CNA treating her with suspicion and not being used to her. She returned the bow and smiled. "Yes, Tayla Redmont was in Vingartha working alongside a Sergeant Zheng, I guess that would be you" she said. "We propose, our forces work together during these war games, supporting each other, and, if we both make it to the end, we could, to use the colloquial term, duke it out until one of us is the winner. Or claim a team victory, either way it would work" she explained.

Tyber thought for a minute, then said "that does seem like a practical solution, but what of potential land locked nations? Where will the facilities be built for them?" Several of the delegations murmured in thought. Outside, a couple of the Onyx Guards shifted uncomfortably. It was rather a stressful situation they found themselves in, guarding the senior heads of government of many of the nations in the entire region. Just then, they saw a peculiar helicopter in the distance. One of the guards got on his radio "Echo HQ this is Echo 2-5, aren't we supposed to have a no fly zone for unscheduled aircraft today?"

Camp Requiem
Seemingly all at once, the carrier helicopters landed. At each base, one of these quad rotor behemoths touched down with loud thuds, and their main doors opened. Service staff began running to and fro, loading equipment and supplies into the interior. Outside, the various military forces began preparing themselves, as they would leave within the hour. Tiberian soldiers began donning facewraps and masks, as well as painting camouflage or in some cases, dark war designs on their faces. The alphas all put their masks on, now becoming anonymous killers. The Omegas remained silent, almost all of them deep in pre battle meditation.

"Well, that's the beauty of it," said Ikaro's aide, Mr. Miroslava. "Because the bases are jointly owned, they will allow future landlocked nations to station aircraft out at sea, and even permit them to field a small number of patrol crafts. As for the issue of cost, we could use existing atolls and small islands, as well as shallow areas, to avoid the need to anchor large platforms in the ocean."

Camp Requiem
"We agree to this proposal," Sergeant Zhang said, clapping a fist over his heart. "Unless the rules forbid it, we will keep a ceasefire with your forces; and if we're the last ones on the field, we will arrange a fair match to test our ability. Until then," He smiled, nodded, then turned to face the landing helicopter.

"Soldieren! Yukei!" he commanded.

"Hai!" the other soldiers answered, checking their weapons and equipment one last time before hurrying onto the waiting transport.

"You'd best hurry back to your camp," Zhang said, glancing up at Ivy as he lifted his AK-104. "The CNA's transport should arrive soon."

Camp Requiem, Pantorrum Camp Superior

Postby Pantorrum » Thu Aug 01, 2013 8:30 pm

Pantorran troops arrive late, their transport Helicopters just now landing.
3 transport helicopters landed. The first carried the platoon of regular infantry, marching off in dreess uniform, to display order and organization to the other parties.
In the second helo, a platoon of Delta soldiers walked off in full battle gear in wedge formation, in order to display knowledge of tactics.
From the third Helo, a platoon of Alpha Troopers walked off, armed to the teeth with the newest of every piece of technology, to display advanced weaponry.
Each platoon was commanded by a staff Sergeant. The joint task force, Codenamed Task Force Superior, was commanded by Major William, a member of the Pantorrum Army and 15 year Veteran of the resent war on organized terror.
The squadron exercised extreme precision and speed in setting up camp. Several portable electronic devices were halled into the 3 large tents set up. They were rolled off the helo's in metal suitcases, painted black and labeled Task Force Superior. The contents were secret and not revealed until within the tent.
The major shouted ordersto all his men, seemingly ignoring all the other groups. He was accompanied by his second and third in command, Captain Mueller and 1st Lt. Barker. Captain Mueller was a member of Deltateam and Barker was a member of the classified and highly trained Alpha team. Alpha team has never been seen on video and have unknown tactics due to their imense secrecy.
Once inside the tent, Major William contacted the minister of defense using a secure line set up using satellites and the computer systems rolled in under secrecy.
"We have landed and are set up. Operation Superior is a go."
"Copy that major. You are authorized with full comand. Operate with extreme predjudice. Do not allow emotion to get in the way of victory."
"Copy that sir."
"Minister Smith out."

The minister always kept conversations short, and had no regaurd for life. He was concerned only with victory and was a true Pantorran Patriot.

Roan adjusted his shirt before standing to address the other delegates. "Firstly I would like to state that as it has and always will be, Slavicska openly welcomes any and all peoples to her island paradise, as long as they do not try to take up permanent residents. Slavicskans do not take kindly to any sort of immigration. Next, I agree that we need to have Neutral site for all coalition forces. As such the nation of Slavicska would like to offer one of its islands as a site for a Coalition base." Roan pulled a map from his briefcase and set it across the table circling a rather large island.

"I believe this will make a good centralized location for construction of the base. In addition it could be used as a neutral place of future meetings. Slavicska would gladly turn this island over to be fully under the control of the Coalition as a whole. This island has no native inhabitants and only serves as a vacation spot anyways. What do you think gentleman?"

Lucius and ambassador wright entered the conference, late due to a recent terrorist assault destroying the 4th largest tower in the country, the COM-T Tower, which is the HQ for the nations largest communications company. Luucius spoke loudly to the gentlemen as he wasn't afraid to speak up. He was gaurded by 3 Delta troopers in dress uniforms.
"I apologize for being so tardy. We recently had a terror assault that killed 965 people and wounded 1120 more. The assault was from a terror organization named Apant. The attacks have become more recent since we declared war on terror. Never the less, I am here. What have I missed gentlemen?"

Zoe and Viktor looked over the map, noting what the island looked like and how close it was to their nation. "This island certainly looks big enough to house a base" Zoe said. Viktor nodded and looked up at Roan. "What is the terrain like on that island? Is there an already established communications facility there? Any natural defences such as a reef or mountains?" he asked. When Ambassador Wright walked in and explained why he was late, Viktor and Zoe looked at him. "If you want, after the war games, we could see about helping you to take these terrorists down, although I doubt we could offer much as our forces are tied up mainly in anti-piracy and anti-smuggler operations" Viktor said.

Camp Requiem
Ivy nodded. "I shall tell Tayla that you accept our proposal" she said. As the helicopters approached she heard the Seraph squad jogging to the landing site, singing their marching cadence.

"C-130 rolling down the strip!"
"Serpah mama's gonna take a little trip!"
":Mission top secret, destination unknown!"
"We don't even know if we're ever coming home!"
"Stand up, hook up, shuffle to the door!"
"Jump right out and count to four!"
"And if my main don't open wide!"
"I got a reserve by my side!"
"And if that one should fail me too!"
"Look out ground, I'm a comin' through!"
"And if I die on the old drop zone!"
"Box me up and ship me home!"
"Tell me family I did my best!"
"Bury me in the leanin' rest!"
"When I get to heaven!"
"My deity's gonna say!
"How'd you earn your living?!"
"How'd you earn you pay?!"
"And I'll reply with a whole lot of anger!"
"Earned my pay as a Seraph trooper!"

Ivy bowed to Sergeant Zhang once more and headed back to her camp and formed up with her troops. They had three of their animals with them, two tigers and a wolf. The rest of the Beastmasters would work as regular troops for this mission. As everyone got into the helicopter Ivy reported to Tayla, who seemed to be very happy with the turn of events.

The ambassador slumped back into his chair, and mumbled: 'I would like to state that we of the Regions are happy to build peace in this place. However, we cannot let up on our military budget or go lax on our immigration policies, our Leader has stated. He hopes you understand. We could open our borders, but... our country isn't of the sort one would visit voluntarily...' He grinned. His two Commando bodyguards laughed, a horrifying, rasping noise.
Used to be a straight-edge orthodox communist, now I'm de facto a state-capitalist who dislikes migration and hopes automation will bring socialism under proper conditions.
