@Chaos - Blaine is magnetokinetic (and he gets a ton of other goodies as a result of that power only costing 8 points). Now, high energy is listed as a weakness, but that's only because energy disrupts magnetic fields... so like, if your guy shot pure energy at Blaine, and Blaine tried to block it with a forcefield shield, the shield would not last long against the energy before collapsing... however, if Blaine chose to dodge the attack instead, using his agility, the attack would be unlikely to stick. I guess what I mean when I say they are even-footed is: Blaine relies on throwing metal as his primary attack, and your guy (depending on how fast his absorption rate is) can just absorb it and convert it into energy. Thorn relies on, it seems, energy beams as his primary attack, and Blaine, with his agility, will be able to dodge most of them... resulting in a slog-fest where neither person is offensively powerful enough to really land a solid knock-out blow, and both are too defensively powerful to be taken down. It would be amazing. Quick question though: if Blaine were to attempt to Mind-Blast Thorn with an EMP-type attack, how would he respond? I mean, one of Thorn's powers is energy manipulation, and the Electro-Magnetic spectrum is technically a form of energy, so would Thorn be affected at all, or would he simply laugh it off as he absorbed the waves? Just wondering.

If he's ready for it, he can absorb pretty much anything. I.E. Some twat with an automatic rifle could unload on him, and as long as he was aware of what was going on prior to said twat pulling the trigger, he'd probably be able to absorb or deflect the incoming shit storm.

On the other hand, if some other twat was to try to snipe him from a half a mile away, well, he'd probably end up like most people.

The same goes for energy based attacks.

And while he does tend to rely on projected energy for offensive encounters, if things take to long, he's liable to attempt to jump whom ever he's fighting with and try to turn them into a meal.

But Blaine, being skinny and agile, would almost certainly be able to outrun him... so again, our characters are going to be soooooo well equipped to counter each other that the battle would likely end in a draw... unless other people are involved.
