One police officer calls to the Chancery, and a writ is immediately issued to summon the armed forces. Meanwhile anti-fascist demonstrations have begun in the thousands in the streets of historic Lyttonwic.

They surround parliament, preventing the fascists from entering the palace, which stood since 1001.

The Six Clerks in the Chancery escape into the vast basements that contain centuries of parchments that detail every single government transaction for the past 900 years. They are looking for the record that allows them to issue writs in the name of the Privy Council to stop the invasion.

The Foreign Secretary sees the invasion of the Chancery and sends a letter to the Fuehrer:

With news of the Nazi leaders death James got a smile across his face, Kernan was going expanding! He went to his underground War Room and watched it all unfold.
The Kernian Military had not taken half the country and was preparing to take the other half when the General sent a messenger under the white flag of truce the the government "Please surrender and stop the slaughter. We will pull out of your country just give the Nazis control. We will rebuild Themiclesia bigger and better than ever before. We have the means to completly wipe you out."

They then wrote to the Lord High Steward that they're resigning because of their inability to defend the realm. Then the Lord High Steward, acting in the King's name, dissolved parliament, which is almost completely dead anyway.

Themiclesia, being in flames, can't mount a counteraction, and the House of Lords officially fly to their summer vacation homes in the French Rivera for asylum. The Lord High Steward, along with the Lord High Chancellor, the Lord Treasurer, the Lord Privy Seal, the Lord President of the Council, and the Chief and Puisne Justices of King's Bench and Common Pleas, and the Barons of the Exchequer, and the Star Chamber, and numerous others, now flee Themiclesia into France, and carry with them their Government-in-exile.

The land has been annihilated, and the death toll is estimated at 812 million.

He turned to the radio "Kernan agressors, we had a mutual trade agreement with Themiclesia, if you do not uphold the agreement of 25 million units of grain, livestock and water per month, our forces can and will begin extracting the resources from you".

He turned to the defense Minister "Begin activation of the interception networks, and ready our air force, full readiness of all 1100 planes within 24 hours, equip our stealth bombers with the GPS nuclear devices, and the B-52s with full incendiaries. Our fighters should be equipped for full defense. Ready the longswords too, and finally, alert the missile bases to Defcon 3:midrange".

The Defense Minister bowed and walked out of the room, barking orders to his underlings. The barracks, airbases and drydocks and naval bases began buzzing with activity."
