Sometimes, you just have to ignore Crane when he's trying to have a session with you.

I look forward to pitting Bane' ego against Lex's. Most modern incarnations of Lex show him as somebody who honestly believes that he is doing what's right, that he's the "best humanity has to offer" fighting some kind of alien menace who never earned his abilities. He thinks of himself as a hero, though he is still an incredibly sadistic, narcissistic monster with no morality of any kind.

No way, The Joker is Batman's rival for a reason. You just need a solid writer to flesh him out.

I suppose so, though maybe I'm an odd one out for my general disinterest in Joker. Sure, there's a lot of aesthetic to like, but I've just never found too much interest there. Generally, I figured that he's Batman's primary rival because of just how much of an antithesis he is to Batman, despite not having too terribly much dynamic in his character. Though, maybe I've just not read or watched or played enough though.

I think The Dark Knight's Joker was amazing; just the apathy of everything sans his weird anarchic moral code.

TDK's Joker and Killing Joke's Joker were the best Joker's in my opinion, TDK did a good job of using him to explore the other characters, his machinations proved just how close Batman is from going completely crazy. Killing Joke did a good job of exploring his character, and what exactly could drive a person to dress up as a clown and commit horrific crimes for no reason.

Wel TDK's was based off of TKJ's, but without the whole backstory. Batman '89 did a decent job too, but not as good as TDK.

Huh. Wouldn't see them as two to work together. Though maybe that's because I generally think of Edward as seeing Joker being more of an annoyance than anything.Confederated Southern States wrote:I think The Dark Knight's Joker was amazing; just the apathy of everything sans his weird anarchic moral code.
I know I'm in the minority, but I just really didn't care too much for the interpretation there. I mean, it was really good, don't get me wrong, but I can't say that I saw the excellence most did on first viewing. Again, maybe I'm missing something.

Technically, the Joker's name might not be Jack Napier. In Killing Joke he describes his past as "multiple choice". I guess I'm just being pedantic though.

Jack Napier was his name in Batman '89, and then in Batman: The Animated Series. Throwing a bone here to Jack Nicholson and Mark Hamill
