Just for clarification (because I have been told off by RoG): planned directive is nothing like actual omega directive. I chose the name because it sounds cool and denotes seriousness of situation. There is not going to be any destructions.
Reference was regarding seriousness of the situation not the action to be taken.

Me nether, after all the "extremists" Left and right have well armed "security forces" as I have an armaments business as a couple of others do in the COC I can supply MBT's if it gets ugly.

We are not going to destroy anything. "Omega" refers to seriousness in which said directive is to be issued not the action to be taken.

Before this whole debacle, I actually had a shard of respect for some of the members of the Nameless Coalition. But after seeing the bullshit that went down in the negotiations, I can honestly say that every last bit of respect for anyone in that organization that I may have had is now gone, barring a select few. They can go take their coalition and shove it where the sun don't shine. All this does in my eyes is reaffirm our decision to ally with the far left in a vote of no confidence. If that's how they act when faced with the simple task of negotiating membership, I shudder to think of what could occur if they ere in a position of real power.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, that coalition wouldn't be good for anybody but the senators gaining power from it.

You would be correct friend.

The Red Greens, Communists, and USLP. Although a few Galt's Gulch members have expressed support as well, along with the CMP of course.

Indeed.

I've gained a new respect for them, and the Red Greens. Both are now level with the USLP in my book.

Haha. They reject a monarchy but are willing to abolish democratic elections that don't serve them. How quaintly hypocritical.

Executive Council Formation Act

Author: Slazliyka (C)
Sponsor(s): The Realm of God (PC), Yanalia (RG), Free South Califas (C), Costa Algeria (LD), the Nihilistic view (CMP), Blassland (TR)
Urgency: High

This act hereby:

ABOLISHES the offices of President and Prime Minister.

DECLARES that all previously established ministries shall be retained.

DECLARES that an Executive Council of five people shall be appointed by election immediately on the passage of this bill.

DECLARES that the election for the Executive Council be an instant-runoff vote, wherein voters may list their candidates in order of preference, including as many or as few candidates on their ballot as they please. The election will last for 48 hours, unless there are no more than five candidates, in which case elections will be skipped.

DECLARES that a new election shall be held every 30 days to replace the current Executive Council (however current members of the Executive Council are not barred from running again), and that each Executive Council shall remain in office until the next election is completed.

DECLARES the following to be the powers of the Executive Council, which may be carried out by majority vote from the council:

  • The right to rearrange the queue of legislation in the senate if a state of national emergency is declared.
  • The ability to appoint ministers to the various established ministries, which shall serve as long as the Executive Council which appointed them does and may be removed at will by the Executive Council.

DECLARES that the senate may motion to declare a national emergency with 10 approvals of the motion, in which case a condensed 24-hour vote will be held to declare a state of national emergency, which shall only pass by if 2/3rds of the voting senators approve. In order to end the state of national emergency, a motion with 10 approvals may be made, which immediately starts a 24-hour vote wherein 2/3rds of voting senators must approve of ending the declaration of national emergency.

The idea is that it will end all the bickering over president/PM by making those positions be held jointly, which would allow everyody from the far left to the far right to have a say in that office. With this system in place, it would effectively be impossible to appoint ministers purely on coalition agreements/partisan affiliation as other executive council members could vote against it, which will force the council to appoint ministers according to their merit.

Essentially, it would end all of the partisan bickering over the executive branch of government and leave that where it belongs (in the senate).

It's in the queue now.
