Delegacy Matters

Postby Skeckoa » Wed May 29, 2013 10:43 pm

If there is a nation that is WA delegate with let's say 10 endorsements, and two nations with 9, what would happen if the WA Lost two endorsements at once and there was a two-or-more way tie?

Unless the topic got moved, I do believe it is the place.

Anyway, if you had looked at the Technical FAQ pinned at the top of this forum, you'd have found this:
Mousebumples wrote:What if there are two WA nations with the same number of endorsements?
If there is a tie in endorsement count involving the current delegate, the delegacy will not change over. In order for a nation to become the new delegate, they need to have more endorsements than the present delegate.

Other than that, if the current delegate is not involved in the tie, as Pyth said, "it's ... complicated."

Pyth's comment is all Admin will say about this.

Thread moved to Gameplay, cause maybe someone there might have useful commentary for you.

If the current delegate is not involved in the tie, it seems very likely that it's a coin toss between the highest endorsed nations come update.

This raises a red flag to me. NS advertises products and accepts money. It's a legal business. You must inform people about the quality of your products/services.

I may not know what nationality Skeckoa is from, but I am a citizen of the United States of America. As such, I'm invoking my national rights of caveat emptor, under my nation's consumer rights laws and request that the quoted question below be answered, fully and truthfully.

Be gone rules lawyer Querria. Get thee to the WA forum. :palm:

Edit: Back on topic, I wonder if the nation with the highest influence wins that tie, or maybe population?

I suggest someone (possibly the OPer) try it a few times and let the rest of us know your theories.

They got a cease and desist letter from the real life United Nations because of how bad they violated copyright laws once upon a time. It's not crazy to think some of the game code here may not be alright. This is why I am making the request. Since the admins have refused when asked politely, I am forced to invoke my rights given to me by my government to find out what it is. If they still refuse, I will see it through full to the fullest extent of my abilities to try and uncover the answer.

What if that particular instance happens, and the coding causes the nations residing in the region to get a virus and the user's computers to crash. The data on those computers may be expensive, and thousands of dollars of software might be lost. It's only hypothetical, but that's exactly why I will make the effort to find out what the process is.

It could be a trade secret, under which they don't have to tell you anything.

It would be easier just to incorporate a "Grief Region" button, so you wouldn't even need to make the effort to do the actual raiding. Players could just bounce from region to region and destroy everyone else's efforts at will, without even bothering about WA status. Wouldn't that be nice. -Frisbeeteria

If memory serves me right the nation out of two that received the ninth endorsement first will become delegate; however, I could be wrong... So I wouldn't quote me on that.

Then I will go through my correct government department, whom will investigate the matter. Then I will be informed if the game code is alright, or not. At that point it will be out of my hands. But if they don't tell me then I'll perform my duties as a citizen.

I'm still awaiting an answer from an administrator. If they wish to only tell me, then E-mail or even In-game telegram system works.

Fixed your grammar for you.

I very, very much hope that you do. Sincerely. With all my heart. Do us a favor and post the word-for-word response you get back here?

We could all certainly use a good laugh.

No, the correct term is whom, not who. I should rephrase the line to say "whom investigates these matters".

While you're at it, can you figure out the following for me as well?

- What really is the stuf inside an Oreo?
- What makes kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
- The secret blend of KFC's herbs and spices
- The real difference between Coke and Pepsi

Much appreciated!
Patience pays off.

All off-topic legal nonsense aside, I suppose I'll step up and actually answer the guy's question:
Skeckoa wrote:If there is a nation that is WA delegate with let's say 10 endorsements, and two nations with 9, what would happen if the WA Lost two endorsements at once and there was a two-or-more way tie?

Length of time in the region is used as the tiebreaker; whichever nation has been in the region longer will be elected delegate at the update. There may also be a chance that the nation with more influence (which is closely related to length of time in the region, but is different) would receive the delegacy, but I'm fairly certain that it's the first one.

I always heared it had more to do with influence then the amount of time in a region, but as you said they are closely related.

Perhaps this calls for some testing...just need to find a few people willing to help.

Raiders have tested it well enough in terms of time spent. Maybe less well on the influence theory.
