Well. Saladin was rumored to have a 200,000 man army. But I think this was in total, as he mainly fought with around 40,000. So I think it's to much. But if Elerian can back up it right then I don't think it would be BS.

That isn't to say I don't have professionals, but you'll mainly be facing peasants. But you'll be starved out anyway.
