Not TAPCO, but why don't you just make your envisioned Saiga 5.56 conversion, Corda?

  • MagPul CTR
  • Buffer tube/space/castle nut
  • ACE LTD buffer tube folding mechanism
  • ACE LTD internal stock block
  • TWS DogLeg receiver cover
  • MagPul AK grip (those are out now)
  • STANAG magwell adapter (forget name at the moment)
  • Obligatory PMags. All of them.
  • Hogue handguards.
  • Whatever muzzle device you settled on.

The PV-BSR1 Is a cousin of the Prussian Viper It's used in elite services and has been in only one war; created by George Ingram II the son of the glorious George Ingram. The PV-BSR1 has a action grip, bayonet, and a scope; which helps the gun shoot correctly as well for hand to hand combat. It uses better ammo that penetrate through at least 2 1/2 cement bricks.

I decided to pimp out my older rifle; take a look.

Background

The C96 was originally designed and produced in Germany by Mauser, but Fink Mfg. in Columbia picked up on the design. It was realized to be a cheap, accurate sidearm for the Police and Flying Squads. During the schism of Columbia from the United States in 1900 it was used by Columbian forces to defeat the Chinese Boxer Rebels. Currently in the year of 1912 it is being used to great effect against the anarchist Vox Populi. A popular variant is the version chambered in .45 ACP, which offers much greater firepower. Extended magazines, rifle stocks, and barrel extensions convert this pistol into a powerful rifle suited for combat in the winding alleys of Columbia.

Two different assault rifles are commonly found in the hands of soldiers serving within the ranks of the Langaro National Army. The first is the R4 which was imported from South Africa during the 1990s. This rifle issued to regular troops with 35 round magazines as standard, although some Langaran soldiers have been known to privately purchase 50 round magazines. The second is the AKM which has been acquired from various sources over the years and previously served as the main assault rifle of all Langaran troops. Now the AKM is commonly found issued to local militia units which, due to the structure of the LNA, actually forms a sizeable part of Langaro’s fighting force.

I second this. Preferably with the internals visible just for good measure as these are always tricky to draw right.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Tantal folders are relatively solid. No way you're going to break a wire-folder on an AK. Cheek weld is non-existent, however, so they aren't the most comfortable nor accurate stock to use, but it's in no way "flimsy."

But why would anyone want an out of balance gun that is uncomfortable, and inherently inaccurate. In Iraq and Afghanistan for example plenty of shooting at each other from can't-really-see distances happened. Its not gonna help in that department. Why would anyone would sacrifice a good stock to save a single pound of weight?

Because when you're carrying 60+lbs in desert temperatures every little helps.

If a single pound helps so much they need more push ups. And it ought to be saved on something that will not reduce accuracy. Perhaps it would be more sensible to discard a magazine than to increase ammunition wasteage. But things weight can be saved on, better calory to weight ratio for combat rations, lighter batteries, lighter shovel, lighter knife, lighter NV/IR equipement, lighter vest, lighter clothes, lighter boots. Just not on the blody stock. Has not got the slightest sense to it, provided they want to hit anything beyond 200m.

It might actually be possible to convert the tubular magazine into a gas tube, possibly even containing a piston, which would then unlock and cycle the bolt.
It would then only require modification to affix a box magazine below the magazine, some bolt changes and a 'bolt shield' (the large protrusion behind the bolt in the top image I provided).
