I propose an average GDP of $100,000 NSD a year. Because that would equal $50k USD, which seems reasonable (or is that too high? Living in the most expensive part of my country has skewed my understanding of cost of living) and also 100,000 is an easy number to work with.

I sincerely hope that they got the exchange rate backward like I did and they meant for the equivalent of $12.50 USD. Which I still think is too high, but not nearly as ridiculous as $50.

There's no question about that. The only thing a 50 USD minimum wage would do is driving business costs through the roof and cause large amounts of unemployment, as lower-end (well in this case, lower and middle) workers can't find employment.

Just make the minimum wage 5-10 USD an hour.

Recognises that service to senate and this great nation is senators primary job and fulfil a vital task to this great nation. Furthermore, appreciates the amount of time and effort put in by the senators in this task, hence establishes following allowances and benefits to be made available to all active senators, establishing all costs associated with this bill to be mandatory spending for all governments. Salaries, allowances and benefits may be amended by order of senate however any changes will come into affect after six months.

Salaries and personal allowances: All senators will be entitled to basic salary of NS$400 per day in addition to attendance salary of NS$100 every day they attend meetings in senate. Furthermore, state will provide upon request of senator appropriate house to stay in with his family, ensuring all nessecery security arrangements to protect the senator, his family and his property provided their constituency is not within the capital.

Travel allowances: All senators will be entitled to allowance for travel cost, made from anywhere in the globe for purpose of attending a session of senate or a meeting of a Committee or for the purpose of attending to any other business connected with their duties as a senator, from their usual place of residence to the place where the session or the meeting is to be held or the other business is to be transacted and for the return journey from such place to senator's usual place of residence. This allowance will cover costs incurred by senator and senator's family, during aforementioned travels.

Free transit by railway and air: All senators will be entitled with one free, non transferable first or executive class pass which shall entitle senator alone to travel for free in any national train or in any national airlines, provided said journey is within national borders. This pass will be valid from start of senator's term to end of such term in office.

Health insurance: All senators shall be entitled to free medical insurance for themselves and their immediate family, which for purpose of this act shall be defined as "senator's parents, grand parents, spouse and children". While each senator will be responsible for arranging their own medical insurance, insurance company will be paid to by state on behalf of the senator.

Pension and after service benefits: All senators will be entitled to pension of NS$300 per day, unless they are impeached by senate or are proven guilty in court of law. After retirement, they will be entitled to full health insurance as stated above along with free travel by railway or airline in first class facility.
