Following the reorganization of the Banjamo armed forces, there was a general cry for an accurate and powerful gun. This gun was to out do the MBR-47, a staple of the Banjamo army since its inception in multiple ways. The MBR-47 was simply the Banjamo designation of the AKM. The Banjamo Ministry of Defense finally picked out this weapon among many other designs, even though it originally planned to pick out a M16 type weapon.

This weapon was created in a joint project by the privatized European Standard Defense Company and Banjamos Military Services. As of yet, it has been designated the the XM-105, the L3A1 SIR (Pending), and the ES 105 (European Standard Type 105). The weapon is renowned for its accuracy and reliability. However, it is also infamous for the series of notorious accidents that occurred during the development.


Design
The L3A1 was designed as a stop gap solution between between 2008 and 2010, it was used as a compromise between the adoption of an M4 esque weapon and a new Kalashnikov type weapon, such as the AN-94, by the Banjamo army. It uses several key features from weapons such as the FN FAL, the American M6, the Kalashnikov series of weapons, the Heckler and Koch G3 series of weapons, and the M16 series of weapons. The L3A1 is chambered in the Banjamo developed .30-06 M132 cartridge. Over the course of its design and testing, there were several incidents involving reporters, testers, and developers.

One of the most notable of these incidents was something that sent shock waves throughout the Banjamo economy. This was due to the factors involved. A Banjamo General was test firing firing an L3A1, or more appropriately, as it was in the testing stages, an XM-105, at a firing range for his own trials. He did not know, however, that due to the extensive testing he had put it and the heat of the day through, interior parts of the rifle were extremely hot, something that wouldn't have happened if he had let it cool. Letting it cool is still one of the warnings that come with the rifle, despite both ES and BMS's attempts to fix the issue. Due to the excessive heat, combined with a horribly made cartridge that had been taken from a surplus store, a cartridge over expanded in the barrel, causing an extreme failure in Banjamo R&D terms, or a "You fucked dead man" on Banjamo forces terms (aka a jam). After noticing that "nothing was coming out the business end," he took it to a scientest, who told him it was jammed. This caused the general to go into a fit, as he thought he knew how well the AKM had been with jams. This, along with the fact that the interior components were "poorly designed," compelled him to state in his report that he recommended the L3A1 project almost be cancelled. Luckily, his advice was not taken, and learning from this experience, European Standard rebuilt most of the internal components into what is seen today. Sadly, Arms manufacturing plants were also closed, "pending legal action by the State."

Firing Mechanism, Cartridge, and Magazines
The L3A1 uses a delayed roller back action similar to that of the Heckler and Koch G3. It has four firing modes. Safe,single shot, two round burst, and fully automatic. This system is designed to be placed through some abuse, but not the same kind as the famed Kalashnikov is designed to. It can be placed through a bit of abuse due to its construction. It should be noted, however, that it will not fire after being dragged through mud.
The L3A1 chambers the Banjamo M132 .30-06 Round. This round is basically a direct copy of the Ball, M2 cartridge of the famed American M1 Garand. While some would say that this round is too old, and a switch to the 7.62x51mm round would be better, European Standard and a small section of Banjamos Military Services already produce this cartridge. Since it would only be a step up from this small time production to a full factory, European Standard and BMS decided to use the cartridge.
While the cartridge does provide excessive recoil, it should be noted that this rifle is designed to be mainly used for single fire and two round burst. Fully automatic is not recommended unless the user has excessive weight on the end of the rifle, or is wanting to break their shoulder and both wrists.
The L3A1 comes with 2 Box Magazines for each individual rifle, and 5 Magazines each if the rifle is bought in bulk orders over 1000. Each magazine is either made of aluminum or plastic composites, and come in 20 or 30 round sizes. There are optional "Beta" magazines, which come in 150 round sizes.

Materials and Construction
The Rifle is made from steel, composite plastics, and in some cases, wood. The 428mm (SIR) or 300mm (SSR) steel barrel is free floating(?). The grip and hand guard are made of either composite plastics or wood (L3A1.4 ModComp SIR and SSR).
The L1A1 and its variants are made in both Banjamos Military Services and European Standard factories. They are produced in both Liev and Neliev. Domestic Production Rights are available.

Accessories
The L3A1 is compatible with most rail accessories, and in the case of the L3A1.4 ModComp SIR and SSR (which does not mount attached RIS systems), compatible with most RIS systems. This allows for a wide variety of tactical accessories, such as scopes and tactical lights, as well as other tactical gear.

Testing Results
The L3A1 is renowned within the Banjamo Arms Development market as it is known to fire reliably and accurately even after being dropped off of a 30 meter cliff. The rifle landed in sand. However, reportedly due to the fact that the rifle was on "Safe," it was still able to fire reliably and accurately out to 200 meters, the Banjamo Engagement Range Standard (ERS).

"Private First Grade Jim Yuline dropped an L3A1 off of Gorgon cliffs (located 32 Meters above sea level) , located at (omitted) in the European Standard Testing Range. The rifle landed, as witnessed by myself and Dr. (omitted) Terome, in sand. Dr. Terome Picked up the rifle and examined it, and found 5 dents to the barrel and collapsing stock. PFG Yuline was called over, and he inspected the rifle. With regards to his own safety, he took it to Alpha Range, located at (omitted). He then took it 'for a spin.' He reported accuracy in single shot out to 400 meters, and accuracy in two round burst at 100 meters. It is noted that these are the Engagement Range Standard for the army. Dr. Terome and myself, (omitted), believe that, if not cleaned, the rifle's accuracy will deteriorate within days due to the 'gunking' of the mechanism. However, due to the amount of known cleaning kits that a Banjamo soldier can requisition, this is highly unlikely."

Herbert Shizamoto created the MBSR in 2008, and currently only Banjamo Police units have begun to use the rifle. Chambered in .308, the rifle is used as a final solution to hostage situations. The M-148 Valkyrie Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV)

During numerous Urban Conflicts, Banjamo BTR-80s have not given their cargo the needed protection against IEDs, mines, and general anti tank fire. The BTR-80, even in its upgraded versions, was underclassed in its armament. Six years ago, Banjamo Arms Scientests were told to begin work on a new IFV. There were five main requirements placed before the scientests:

-A mix of reactive and normal armor was required.

-It had to be based off of the T-90, as a shared component production line would be more economical than a fully new manufacturing plant.

-Armed with an automatic cannon such as the Bofors 40mm gun.

-Had to have a thickened armored bottom for mine and IED protection.

-Had an engine in the front of the vehicle to protect the passengers and crew from frontal fire.

After about a year of planning, the official R&D department of Banjamos unveiled their new design. Within two years of this unveiling, a working prototype was unveiled before the Politburo. This design drew heavily on the Isreali Merkava tank design.

Armor and Occupant Protection
Many APCs and IFVs have their small and compact engines in the middle of the vehicle. These engines often both take up room which could be used for equipment and offer little to no protection. As stated, the M-148 draws heavily on the Merkava design. Like the Merkava, the M-148 had its engine in the front, freeing up more space in the back and offering some protection against enemy fire. Due to the layout of the vehicle, a hit from frontal fire up to and including lower range caliber tank fire will not kill the occupants. This design allows the occupants of the vehicle to escape if a tank shell ravages the front of the M-148. Other IFVs, like the BTR-80, do not offer this level of protection.
Unlike other IFVs, the M-148's armor does not consist solely of welded aluminum plates and reactive armor pads. The M-148 has a steel-reactive armor blend on its sides, front, top, and turret. However, the armor is thickest at the bottom of the tank, as to provide protection against IEDs and mines.
The M-148 also has an NBC overpressure system and an improved Environmental Control System, allowing for cooled compartments, perfect after a long day of battle. The M-148 has only three main hatches. One on the top of the turret, as to allow for crew entry. There is another placed on the back of the vehicle for passenger entry and exit. Finally, there is a small hatch on the bottom of the vehicle which allows for crew relief. Each one of these hatches can be sealed in case of biological, thermobaric, nuclear, or chemical attack.
The M-148 is also protected with a two tier system. First, specially designed for the M-148, Explosive Reactive Armor. This is placed over the second and final layer of composite armor, similar to the "Chobham armor" commonly found on M1A1 Abrams and Challenger 1 and 2s.

Armament
The M-148 is armed with a Bofors 40mm autocannon. This gun was originally developed for anti air usage by the Swedish Company Bofor. This gun has proven very capable in operations against land targets with vehicles such as the Swedish IFV Combat Vehicle 90. The M-148 is also armed with two machine guns on top of the turret and one coaxial machine gun. The two turret machine guns are MG3s. The coaxial is an FN MAG General Purpose Machine Gun. There are also three smoke mortars for smoke cover. Finally, there are mounts for TOW missile launcher. For skeleton models, which mount no computerized systems, secondary weapons, or reactive armor, a charging and sync port for the Iphone/Itouch is placed next to the main gun. The main point of this is to allow for the "GETCHUONE" fire control app available for free with the skeleton export model.

Options
There are a variety of options that come with the M-148. One of the most inventive is the attachable combat plow. Similar to the Combat Dozers some armies use to shore up defenses, do EOD work, and clear debris/obstructive objects.

Construction
Each M-148 is based on the T-90 Main Battle Tank design. Components are built all over Banjamos in the same manufacturing plants as the T-90. This is because they share quite a few components, and only expansions were needed to begin production. No new factory was required. They are built by the large weapons manufacturing giant that is Banjamos Military Services. These components come together and are assembled in Liev, Banjamos.

The BNT1 (AKA the M-148TM)
History
Following the highly successful design of the M-148 Valkyrie, Banjamo designers decided to base another armored vehicle on it. A tank. Due to the fact that the M-148 was designed off of a tank, it already had armor thick enough to be called a tank. If such a design was based off of the M-148, it was possible that components could be built in the same factories as T-90s, which this new tank would eventually phase out. These tanks would be the first to incorporate private business built components, such as the ES-17 125mm gun.
There were a couple of requirements placed upon the designers:

-Had to be based off of the M-148

-Had to have at least a 105mm cannon

-Had to use similar components to the T-90 Tank, as to allow for production in the same factories

-Had to be well protected

These designers eventually came up with the M-148F, or the BNT1 Excalibur.

Armor and Occupant Protection

The BNT-1 is based on the same layout as the M-148. This means that the engine is located closer to the front, providing protection for the crew from frontal fire and allowing them to escape even if a tank shell penetrates the frontal armor. This layout also allows for a more spacious rear, allowing for disembarks in the case of the M-148, or protected ammunition and crew in the case of the BNT-1. This, however, is highly unlikely due to the thick composite type armor. This composite armor is highly similar to the "Chobham" type tank armor used in the M1A1 Abrams and the Challenger 2. Over this Composite armor, there is a layer of Beta-Kurious Explosive Reactive armor. This is mounted on the sides, front, and turret of the tank. There are two hatches on the tank. One mounted below the tank for crew relief and a man sized heavily armored hatch near the back for both reloading and crew exit and entry. Unlike many Armored vehicles, the BNT1 does not have a hatch on the top of the turret. This is because the top of the turret is heavily armored to protect against attack from the top. The hatch has been eliminated from the top of the tank as it is seen as a weak point in the armor, and it would have thinner armor than the rest of the top of the turret. Thus, the hatch has been taken off of the turret. The weapons that are mounted on the turret is controlled via remote control, similar to the B-52's aft turret.
The BNT1 is also equipped with a fully sealable interior and a full Environmental Control System , which allows it to be fully protective against NBC attacks. It also cools and heats the compartments when nessecary.
There are three handheld fire extinguishers provided with each vehicle, and there are also two automatic fire suppression systems. One in the engine compartment, and one in the wheel well.
The Ammunition is placed where in the M-148 there would be crew. This area is heavily armored, and thus is great for the protection of ammunition.

Armament

The BNT-1 is armed with the Banjamo ES-17 (European Standard) rifled 125mm gun. The main gun is, surprisingly, not manufactured by the Banjamo state. It is instead manufactured by European Standard, a large private corporation that has sprung up in the mixed economy that is now the Banjamo one. This is the first Banjamo military vehicle to feature such an important component made by a private company. This gun fires a wide variety of shells, including Depleted Uranium, HESH, and HEAT shells. While the tank does not have the ability to fire ATGMs, it is possible for the gun to be changed to a certain nation's specifications. The alternative gun to the ES-17 is the ES-18 Smoothbore 120mm gun, which is ATGM compatible, if one wishes.
The BNT1 also mounts a remote controlled M-2 Browning on the top of the turret in a dual purpose mounting. It is meant for Anti infantry and some anti air purposes. The BNT1 also mounts the 20mm Rheinmetall Rh 202 in a coaxial role. This gun can be used for anti infantry, anti fortification, and in extreme cases, anti air roles. Like many tanks, the ammunition is the most protected. It is near the back of the vehicle, which is very well protected. Both the main gun and the coaxial gun operate on the Banjamo M-1997 Fire Control System. The M-2 Browning is operated via a more compact Dell Laptop. In Skeleton export models, which mount no computerized systems or ERA, there is a port for an Iphone/Itouch and a free copy of the "GETCHUONE" fire control app.

Options and Variants
