I dunno, seems to me like the best way to get people comfortable with the idea of the currently underprivelaged being in certain places, and the usual people who complain about not getting into uni "because of Affirmative Action" are people who are at the shitty end of the intellectual wedge.
But you might have a different opinion, indeed I'm sure many of you will. So let fly with your words like it's about to be argument bukkake on this thread's face, etc.
I'm not really sure how The Economist is written 'for' white people - you may wish to refer to their long held editorial stances on issues such as immigration and multiculturalism - but their argument is not that disadvantaged people do not need more support to succeed but that affirmative action is a poor tool to achieve that compared to actually investing in underfunded schools in the poorer parts of the US and that accepting no bid tenders from companies owned by extremely wealthy ethnic minority businessmen does not represent the most effective use of limited taxppayer money.
