"Jesus bru. That's a nightmare and a half."

"Well where are we playing our first game?"

"No idea for the venue either."

"Huh. And who we're playing?"

"That we do know... for some reason."

"That's always good to know. Uh... do we finally have number 1 in the world?"

"Don't know that either."

"What do you mean you don't know either?"

"I mean we're unranked. Along with everyone else in this World Cup, or so it would seem. Yeah, I'm a little confused as well."

"But we've been in the top 3 for the past three World Cups."

"Unranked, bru."

"Bloody hell."

Yes, the Rhodesiah Sables had landed in mysterious Ka Mate eager to continue their success in the Rugby World Cup. The last few weeks had been an absolute blur as their precious 19th World Cup left Sable care and was back up for grabs by the world's best. Of course, defending such a championship was on every player's mind; having seen the fame and glory the roster the prior World Cup winners received throughout Rhodesiah. Former captain Danny Dinha had finally won and would lay to rest an amazing career with that fateful final four years prior. Now he was hanging on as advisor and scout, potentially Mikkel van der Merwe's replacement. van der Merwe on the other hand has since shown no sign of slowing down. The 79 year old manager was as grizzled and angry preceding the tournament as he ever was, only this time there was an expectation hanging over the team.

"Gentlemen!" He barked at his boys pacing in the dressing room, "I know many of you are new to this team. You've worked long and hard to become Sables. Some of you... have been here before. You know the challenges that lie ahead, and I trust you to show these young boks the ropes. What I do need to reiterate, the lot of you f***ing bastards, is that you're going to experience a championship hangover for a team most of you were never even a part of! You're going to find repeating as champions incredibly difficult. You've got a team we've never seen before on matchday 1 called 'The Fair Republic'. I don't expect you boys to play fair. I expect you to play mean. Determined. Driven! I expect you to come out of the gates and show this Ka Mate place who the f***ing DEFENDING WORLD CHAMPIONS ARE!"

After years in the dark ages of international rugby, Former world champions will make their return, with fresh coaches and fresh faces. the new team tonight have finalised their team sheet and look ready to take on the world. there will be no players such as jaxon or Callahan or Authement who helped win the 16th world cup for Khytenna and brought them to the final in the 18th, but now only Kazin, Li and Sergin remain on from that team.

This year's World cup will be bigger and harder then ever before with more nations fighting for that world trophy, Khytenna will need a strong leader to lead the strong team, and that man will be new man Zane Trescothick, he has been extremely impressive for Ty myr this session, leading them to second place in the Federal league with both the boot and a few tries, he told us at island network about being made the new captain of Khytenna

"oh, its a dream come true! the honour of the job.. words can not describe, best feeling ever. As for the world cup, we are all quietly confident that we can go for in this competition we just need to draw on our own strength to come other challengers, and take the game to who ever we play, first it will be Estope"

Estope will Khytenna first opponante, who narrowly missed out of getting of the group stages in the 19th world cup, they will be a great side, but Khytenna have the power in the pack, can we get of to a good start? we will find out tonight!

Polar Islandstates Rugby Union Roster

After a huge disappointment in RUWC17, Coach Pep van Housengamm lost his job, and was replaced by the enigmatic and publicity-courting Jesper Rasmussen ( no relation to the current football head coach Morten Rasmussen). He promised wide changes to the team after the dissolving of the old state-team league in rugby union brought about something of a revolution in the sport in the Federation. Teams were formed, rivalries have been springing up, and teams like Northbrook Harlequins and Citizens RFC have produced some very strong performances in the international domestic rugby tournaments. The team performed to expectations in RUWC18 and RUWC19, and so we see a team that isn't much changed today aside from retirements. Now is the time for Polarian rugby to push on from its dominant club level to begin to be the force it can be in international competition.

The opening day of the Rugby Union World Cup kicks off with the All Reds finishing Saintland with a dominating 49-7 performance, their first win since their Ur-Eight Nations finals defeat to their close rivals, the All Blacks. The summer heat in Mapletish was pricking in as the temperature for that evening was close to 30 degrees Celsius. However the high temperature did not turn the players off as they kick off the opening match of their campaign.

It was Farran Douglas that broke the deadlock as he dived straight in the crowded scoring zone as the Saints failed to contain the quick passing moves around the pitch by the supposed more experienced Mapletish side. This gave the Lions a five points advantage, despite the efforts of Douglas, the Reds were not as lucky on the conversion kicks as Davi failed to convert the first kick of the match.

Despite falling back in the match, the Saints broke through the Red's defence for their first time but they failed to do anything threatening as their threat was subdued. The ball was then carried forward to the centre as the Saints were denied by their best chance to put the ball past.

Douglas was at it again as he chip in fast and scored anther heroic try to put the Reds even further in front however their luck in the conversion kicks were just as bad as their best as Davi once again failed to convert the clear cut chance to put themselves forward. On the 17th minute, Douglas completed his hattrick of tries as he packed the package full and this time, Davi put the conversion kick past the posts.

By now the Reds are holding a strong advantage against the Saints, and Denny was to put three more tries past the visitors to put their chances of comeback close to nil as Denny put three tries past in a mere 4 minutes, namely on the 19', 21' and 23'. This saw off a fast and exciting first half action.

THe second half got off to a quick start and proved to be at a faster tempo than the first. The Saints proved themselves to be a threat to the Reds' defences as they put a try past and converted a neat conversion kick showing that they are not as wasteful as the Reds. This gave the Saints some consolation as they got themselves trapped in the passing movement of the Reds, as they put two more tries past the Saints in the half.

However wasteful conversion kicks were the reason as they fail to maximise their points gained. Harper tried his best to cover up their wasteful attempts by pushing for a drop goal as his drop kick flew past from the Reds' half into the opposition's post, marking the last point scoring attempt of the Reds.

The 49-7 victory also marks the biggest victory in the current World Cup.

The bonus points win may have been in the bag, but Jesper Rasmussen watched on from the stands with deep furrows of worry and concern taking permanent residence in his brow. Eyvindur Laukonen, so often one of the most consistent and reliable members of his squad, was lying on the ground, and he wasn't moving. An awkward fall from a line-out saw the big winger upended and land uncomfortably on his neck, the players around him immediately calling for the medical staff with some urgency before the ball had even gone dead again.

Jesper looked at the clock, there were barely seconds left. It was a stupid time to pick up an injury as potentially serious as that. He looked at the bench and the de-robing Adrian Geis, only twenty, of Kiel Harriers. He had always intended to give the youngster some match experience during the course of this tournament, and had Punum hot have put up quite such a strong attacking performance of their own, he might have taken Laukonen off earlier. It was a decision he was now regretting.

The manager watched with worry as his winger was stretchered from the pitch in a neck brace. A precautionary measure only, he hoped, but it was hard to shake the nagging feeling that it was his poor decision to not rest the ageing winger earlier that had allowed this to all happen in the first place. Laukonen would be sorely missed by the Polarian attack if he really going to be out, and any bad performance could be attributed to a lack of his presence on the pitch. Should they fail to perform well at this tournament, fans could turn on him for this, and he was already fearing their reaction to this. There weren't actually loads of Polarian flags visible in the crowd at the moment, no, but that would no doubt change when they reached the knockout stages.

If they reached the knockout stages, he reminded himself as Laukonen went straight down the tunnel.

A lot now rested on the young Adrian Geis, who, seemingly aware that his manager's eyes would now be on him, immediately went on a mazy run. He broke the Punum line, leapt over a tackle, and drove for the corner as he passed halfway with the clock hitting 80:00. With the crowd on their feet, he dummied a pass and continued to run, but the defender was not convinced, and the two of them bundled over the touchline to end the game on a high note. Jesper raised his eyebrows as the players raised their arms in celebration and shook the hands of their defeated opponents. Maybe this guy could handle the pressure just fine after all...

Samson Wakala gathered the team together, as they were celebrating in the hotel with a little pizza, pork rinds and soda; their usual celebration feast. Really, they ate pizza any chance they could get because what tried to pass for pizza in Hutanjia was atrocious. A few of the guys had talked about retiring eventually and opening a good pizza joint in Chastille or Vesselle.
While Coach Malaptra and Bentley Reraptke would no doubt have something to say, they always deferred to Wakala, the team captain to initiate and lead their after-match pep talks and reviews.

"Awright, ponos! Listen up heya...Ya dun good. Great start to dis Cup, right off from de Panehu (the Hutanjian tribal strut, similar to the Haka). We gotta keep up de pressure, ya? So, Manuel..." He pointed to the loose prop, Edeptka, "ya keep up de tackles like ya did dis game, ya get de king's share o' de pizza, eh?"
There were some jeers and cheers, also, to this statement. Manuel had shut down two drives, one from one of the De Jongs from the Grandterre team, with a little help from Monte Apegku. The other tackle bringing down an O'Connor who thought he'd had an open field to plow through, when Edeptka had put on a burst of speed to catch up.

Vlad Sokota stood up and pointed,
"Ya, so...let's heah it fo' Janson Paqate! Lil' shorty is de high scorer dis match. Two trys, big meter runs on de lil' legs."
"Yeaaaah!"
"Hoowah!!"
The youngest player on the squad earned a shower of a particularly neon yellow soda.

Coach Malaptra finally stepped in,
"OK, let's not overdo it, boys. Stay fresh for tomorrow. You know de drill. Like Samson said, keep tough with de tackles, stop their drives cold and work smart, keep de flow and work with yo' squad mates on the rucks to keep the momentum up the sides. That's de way we'll get 'em, ya? I think we got Northern Sunrise Islands next. Let's bring it do 'em!"

They all cheered in agreement and dove in to the last of the pies.

"Bien-welk, Neu Engollon! Magda Wertauer here, bringing you great news! The Goats have brought in a win during their first match in the Union World Cup in Ka Mate against the host nations' team, a strong, veteran but mysterious competitor. While being able to put 35 points up versus Ka Mate's 11, it still wasn't a walk in the park for them and they had their hands full on defense. The newest second row to the team, Harrington Garpawondu, a recent Hutanjian immigrant, was able to keep the line and also to score an impressive try. As well, Jean Semmes and Julien Latrent...*sigh*, wow, my dreamy man...They were able to also get some crucial trys in. MVP for the match must go to Marcel Donette, though. If it weren't for his stacking the board with some great conversions and drop kicked goals, it would've been a lot tougher match for our Mountain Goats. They need to build a shrine to that golden foot of Marcel's. Next match, they face the Sanctii squad of Saintland in their group. Go Goats! Keep making us proud. Now to the highlights of the Women's flat track roller derby..."

Head Coach of Subramani Rugby Team Robin Singh was frustrated. His team lost a narrow match against Cyborg Holland because they could not do successful conversion after the try, which meant they lost by two points instead of drawing the game. However because they lost close, they at least got a bonus point and opened their account.

However his worries remained. Subramani has been performing way beyond expectations in the World Bowl and people have already started talking about American Football in the Coffee clubs and Tea Houses in Subramani. The sport which was virtually unknown to common man in Subramani few months back is now so famous that Robin Singh is worried his sport rugby could be the loser. Already corporate are starting to lay their eyes on sponsoring the American football teams, which means rugby players might start getting reduced pay check. That would mean, more youngsters taking up to play American Football rather than rugby, and that means more such defeats for Subramani in International events.

Robin Singh knows there is only one way to change this. He has to motivate this team and make them start winning matches. He has to make his team perform better than how the team performs in World Bowl. He was ready for the task and called for more training schedules from the next day. He wanted to prove to Subramani which is the better sport.

The ball smoothly flew through the air and hit the Irish player, Jake O'Hara.

His assistant cut him off,"Look coach just calm down," he said in a low voice.

Darmen defeats Beldonia, 42-5, to kick off RUWC 20

Darmen kicked off their Rugby Union World Cup campaign in style, storming to a 42-5 win over Beldonia. Prop Peppe Andrews scored two tries in the first twenty minutes, and Fly-half Rodney Wembley kicked both conversions. He also kicked two drop goals in the first half, driving Darmen's score up to 20-5 before the teams went inside at the break. Beldonia's only try came after a knock-on occurred in Darmen's own 22.

Outside-center Pánfilo Myers scored a try within two minutes of the second half's kickoff, finding a hole in the Beldonian defense, and slipping through untouched. Wembley added the conversion, and then went on to kick three drops goals, one after the other, in quick succession.

With only ten minutes remaining in the match, Darmeni Fullback Darío Courtney was penalized by his Beldonian counterpart. The Beldonian's high tackle inside his own 22, and right in front of goal, gave Wembley a perfect change to add another three points to the scoreboard. He was successful, and the scoreboard changed to read 39-5.

Left Winger Tristan Wilbur went on to add a drop goal of his own in the final minute of the match, giving Darmen an easy 42-5 win, and first place in Group A.

Royal Three - Postmatch Interview

Iosue Alfenus was assigned to cover the Rugby Union World Cup for the Royal Networks after the World Championship in Field Hockey finished. He is currently in the booth following Saintland's 49-7 away defeat at the hands of Mapletish.

Iosue Alfenus - Today, the Sanctii were outmatched against Mapletish. It likely doesn't matter much since this team likely isn't getting out of the group stage, but Licentiapacisterra defeated Ibex 29 to 14 and Neu Engellon defeated the hosts 35 to 11. Under Rugby Union World Cup rules, teams get 4 points for a win and 2 points for a draw. Teams get an additional point if they score 32 points and a consolation point if they lose by 7 points or less. This puts Mapletish and Neu Engellon into first with 5 points while Licentiapacisterra has just 4 points. Anyways, Josephus Funisulanus is my guest for today. He scored all 7 points for the Sanctii today.

Alfenus sounded bored. Funisulanus walked into the booth and sat down.

Iosue Alfenus - Thank you for speaking with Royal Three.

Josephus Funisulanus - I appreciate the opportunity to speak to a national TV audience back home.

Iosue Alfenus - Josephus, can you explain to the viewers at home what happened out there today?

Josephus Funisulanus - We simply were not prepared for this level of competition. As you know, the best athletes back home go into soccer, gridiron, baseball, basketball, ice hockey and basically anything other than rugby. We don't have world-class athletes on our team. We aren't expected to win every time we step on the pitch. We simply are a team of athletes that enjoy playing the sport of rugby.

Iosue Alfenus - You were blown out worse than anybody else on the first day of competition.

Josephus Funisulanus - Wasn't the gridiron team blown out in the first day of the World Bowl?

Iosue Alfenus - You are correct about that. It is my understanding that your brother Alessandro is the other Flanker on the team. Could you explain for our viewers what a Flanker is?

Josephus Funisulanus - Do I really have to answer that question? Have you ever seen a rugby match before today, Iosue?

Iosue Alfenus - I think we had to play rugby in gym class once, but I didn't bother to learn the rules because I hated the sport. I've never attended a rugby match before or bothered to watch one on TV.

Josephus Funisulanus - I know I may get in trouble for this, so I apologize in advance if I offend anybody, but why are you covering rugby if you know nothing about the sport? This interview is over. Before I go, I want to remind everybody watching at home that we are playing at Via Damascus Stadium in St. Paulus tomorrow. We will face Neu Engellon. Please come out and watch us in person.

Funisulanus left the booth. He had certainly not appreciated the questions from Alfenus. He hoped that his outburst would convince the Royal Networks to assign some sportscaster that actually knows something about rugby to the Rugby World Cup. It was an outrage that this incompetent was covering rugby matches in the sport's most prestigious competition for a television network in a country that is participating in the competition. Why did seemingly every decent sportscaster in Saintland have to be busy covering the Cup of Harmony and the World Bowl? Needless to say, Alfenus wasn't going to get more interviews with the National Rugby Team.

Felix Vinson was annoyed, his team had gone into the tournament with hopes up high, despite knowing they would be lucky if they got out of the group stages the taste of defeat was horrible. They had lost their first game to Polar Islandstates 35-23. Felix thought the backs moved the ball round well, on the other hand though he was appalled by the forwards display.

Felix arrived to training early the next morning to talk to Billy Melton, the head coach. He waited for 5 or so minutes while he was engaged in discussion with Homer Cote, the forwards coach. He guessed they were thinking the same thing as him. During that wait Cory and Lyle Black arrived. The Blacks brothers are the flankers, they are both amazingly quick and skilful but hugely under performed in the match. While Lyle, the younger one, went off to warm up, Cory headed over to join the wait, looking rather miserable.

Felix did eventually get to have a word with the coach. Felix was very pleased that Billy had the same view on what was wrong and wgat needs doing. After Billy had finished talking to Cory, he headed over to the pitch and grouped everybody together to start the training.
"Okay guys, I have spoken to your captain, the pack leader and Homer, them and I all agree on what went wrong, while the backs did well and got us up to their 22 on numerous occasions and managed to get two tries, you lazy forwards were hanging back and not getting to the breakdowns quick enough and losing the team the ball. So, the backs will be going off with the Backs coaching team to practice techniques, while you forwards will be doing breakdown practice with Homer and his men. We're then going to group together do some fitness have lunch, then play a game afterwards. Any questions, no, good. Off you go."

Khytenna's lack of international experience showed last night as they where put to the sword by Estope, Who managed to play a wide game that proved to much for Khytenna when they conceded 3 try's, Khytenna made a small come back, taking points via penalties and a try disallowed, but they could not get past the solid defence.

Captain Trescothick was the first to get points with a very early try by Khytenna it came after a some quick thinking in the line out by the forward pack who managed to steal the ball of Estope, it was Howel taped the ball down to Ma, Ma made a dash with ball, who passed it to Ayres, Ayres bulldozed his was to the line passing the ball quick to Trescothick, with a player tackling him, Trescothick just managed to force his way over the line and under the sticks for the first try of the game, the conversion was easy and Khytenna had 7 points on the scoresheet, it looked like their return to the winning ways would be easy, Khytenna extended their lead by 3 after a penalty a short time later.

However they would get a rude awaking 20 minutes later as Estope brought used width and an created overlap to get a try on the corner, the move happened after a scrum was taken by Estopes number 8 Shambo, who powered down the field, but was stopped by Proctor but then Estope played two very fast cycles of the ball going into tackles and getting the ball out fast, they drew players in to rucks and then started to pass the the ball wide, the ball was passed all the way down to the wing , and Kapur went over for the try, Nightingale tried to get their in time but it was to late, after the conversion the game was now 10-7 with Khytenna's lead looking fragile going in to half time.

The second half did not plan out the way Khytenna wanted either, Conceding an early try in the second half, after some exceptional work by the Scrum half. The try came after a scrum 20 meters out, when Estope got the ball back, Eatmon made a run for the try line, and after a dummy pass to his fly half, he flew over the line for their second try. Another conversion was taken and Khytenna lost their lead, score now stood at 14-10 to Estope.

After Trescothick scored another penalty (after minutes of driving to the line) Khytenna where just a penalty away from taking back the lead but, Khytenna made a silly error that was easily exploited for Estopes 3rd try. Estope had been driving forward in a maul when it was brought to the ground, thinking that it was a turn over, Rowe joined the ruck to try and get the ball back, with Li now the only defence on the blindside, it was not a turn over and seeing Khytenna's error, Eatmon made a run and past the ball quick to Husk and the feild was totally open. Nightingale made the tackle to try and stop him but he just managed to stretch over to score in the corner, the conversion had a little help from the post, but now the score stood 21-13 with a late win looking distant now for Khytenna.

Two chances for a try when begging for Khytenna, first was after came when they had a line out deep in the Estope half, they won the ball and tried to push for the line, meny cycles of the ball later and Khytenna couldn't break the defence, instead after an offside call, Khytenna had to settle for the penalty, Estope was just to dug in. Khytenna almost scored from Rowe, he managed to make a break through the Estope line and went over the try line, but he he was tackled by Eatmon and Gouge and the decision went to the TMO, who ruled that ball was held up, so close for Khytenna, but you could tell that it was not going to be their day.

The game ended with an impressive Drop goal by Olea, after the time reached 80, he tried is luck from the 30 meters out and it just went over. The game ended with a victory for Estope, and bitter disappointment from Khytenna, who looks like they will need to improve much more if they will ever be a world better again.

Man of the match: Eatmon.

A great player today, who was their at every breakdown and score a try, and set up the other two, good at tackles and his vision and speed was remarkable, lots of what he did changed the pace of the game.

Khytenna time will get worse as they take on Darmen in their next game, who sit first in group A after destroying Beldonia in their first game. Khytenna will need to sort out everything if they are going to win.

The GSE Rugby team walked into the lockeroom with a smile of their faces. They knew that they did a hell of a job by blowing a team out for the first time. They also knew that they wouldn't have to hear coach Bramers' atrocious accent.

"Okay boys hell of a job," Bramer said with confidence in his voice,"Even though we won, our job ain't done!"

"But I got some good news for Mr.Jake O'Hara, since Jean-Paul Pierre hasn't done a job I thought he would do, you two will be alternating each game in order to see who will play in the championship so Mr.O'Hara you will be starting the next game."

O'Hara jumped up in glee as high fives were shared between the players, a look of satisfactory came onto Bramers' face and a look of envy on Pierres' face. It's safe to say he was pissed.

"Now time for the stats:
Pedro somehow managed to score 40 points while Pierre scored 3 points, okay men get your street clothes on and go to sleep we have a hell of a day in front of us."

A guide to Ko-orenite Rugby for foreigners

Ko-orenite Rugby is supervised by the national association, the KRA (which stands, very uncreatively, for Ko-orenite Rugby Association). Its league is officially called the KNRL (Ko-orenite National Rugby League), which has just finished its eighth season. There are 10 teams in the league, which all play each other four times, totalling to 36 games per team. Draws are very rare in the KNRL, but that goes for almost every league. The association, like other sports associations in Ko-oren, hardly try to promote parity in its league. Therefore last season had a 22 point gap between winners Vulpecula and runners-up Lyra, and a 26 point gap between second-to-last Monoceros and last placed Corona Borealis. It has to be said that last season was very extreme, and usually the teams are closer together (usually divided into a few groups: 2 title contenders, 2-3 teams behind that, fighting for Seasogs, another 3 teams behind that, and 2-3 teams trying to avoid last place).

The League has seen three different champions over the eight seasons. Vulpecula, which have been crowned champion three times, seized the first place in season 1, 3 and now 8. Lyra are the most successful team with four titles, in season 2 and then three consecutive titles in seasons 5-7. Lastly Monoceros ended first in season 4. For a while, it has been 'tradition' that last year's champion have a very bad season right after their title, but that 'tradition' was ended by Lyra when they won their second consecutive title in season 6. Until that time, no team managed to defend the title. Moreover, mostly champions struggled to secure consecutive Seasogs qualifying places (1st through 4th).

The most famous teams of the League are Vulpecula and Lyra, but Aquila, Cassiopeia, Andromeda and Monoceros ring a bell with many foreign Rugby fans too. Cygnus, Phoenix, Corona Australis and Corona Borealis are still almost unrecognized, though many talents that end up playing for Lyra or Vulpecula or a foreign club come from these five clubs.

Rugby is mainly popular in the more rural areas, whereas urban areas play football and gridiron more. Baseball is popular everywhere, though the number of baseball fans is about as high as the number of football fans. The League's clubs mainly come from the edges of the islands: (format: 'club': 'city' ('state')

Head Coach Robin Singh was a frustrated man after the second loss in as many matches in the Rugby World Cup. Once again the team competed and did their best, but there was something lacking in them, that is preventing them from going for that final push that could grant them victory. If it was 2 point defeat against Holland in the first match, it was a 4 point defeat against Slembana that frustrated the coach now.

As expected, what added more to his frustration was the fact that Subramani registered yet another comprehensive victory in the World Bowl. Last year, when the rich enthusiasts in Subramani set up the first American Football League in Subramani, they offered lot of cash to any present or former rugby players who were ready to try the new sport. They offered Robin Singh a huge contract with loads of cash, if only he was ready to agree to coach one of the teams, namely Technocrats.

Robin Singh refused, saying that he would like to be remembered as a coach of the Subramani Rugby Team after his death and not as a traitor. Yes, traitor, that’s how he described all those rugby players and coaches who deserted rugby to associate themselves with American Football. Today he is wondering if he had made a mistake. By the way things are going, it looks like Rugby would soon be relegated to a second class sports in Subramani.

Fans are losing patience with the rugby team and Robin was completely aware of it. He knows he has to turn the tide soon, and the time is running out fast. He felt like there was a huge burden on his shoulder. He is fighting to keep his favorite sport alive in his nation and he felt like he is losing the battle. He was worried man. He was not able to sleep properly in the night and was just tossing in the bed from side to side. He badly wanted a win for his team. He just wished his team would reach glory and win this world cup somehow.

TAONE PANGO, KA MATE

It had been a much closer, more slogging match then their first intro match to the World Cup against the Grandterrais team. The Hutanjians had worked every meter of the pitch in Taone Pango to find a way to get around the Northern Sunrise Islanders and to the try zone. Scrums and rucks were probably their strong suit, and it had finally paid off in the end, but it was a grinding road to get there. After Grendel Lintanu put a try on the board and Fengelu had made the conversion, things had turned somewhat sour from there.

Harold Nepedku had been rucked over so hard, getting cleated in the face by NSI's Scrum half, Raffstein, that his cheek had a huge gash in it, very close to his bottom left eye lid. With the action so muddled and a sea of legs surrounding the incident from prying cameras, no call had been able to be made by the Sirs.
Nepedku had left the game under protest, but ultimately been dashed off to get stitched up.
The scrappy collegiates from NSI had been able to post one try with the accompanying conversion kick and a field goal to put themselves over the top at the half.

The Polynesians from the small islands in the Wishton Sea had rallied from there, fighting back and getting two more trys to bring the Hutanjian crowds back home out of their seats. Things bogged down after that around each squads' 22 meter line. The teams fought to get within field goal range and ultimately it was a battle of drop kicks to push Hutanjia to the win, thanks to Fengelu and Weston Ketsangu punting straight and true through the posts.

They celebrated in a subdued fashion, deciding to forego the pizza for sensible sandwiches and salads, but compensating with a couple rounds of beers at the corner bar near the hotel. Harold Nepedku had raised the first toast, back from the hospital. Coach Malaptra was convinced all the sugar and pizza from the night before had made the day's match a very near thing. Team Captain Wakala was more inclined to think it was an odd clashing of styles on the pitch. No matter, as the win was in the bag and they looked forward to their next match with Subramani, hoping to keep their top ranking in the group.

As you saw, Carsten and Alex really had some good pushes in the zone. Freddy Reitzbach had that amazing leap over one of those Ennius brother props. Yeah, we're pretty happy with our performance today."

"It looks like you were building off some base plays?"

"Yep. We really put through some well practiced plays that Saintland unknowingly did their part to make happen so smoothly."

"Really well-oiled looking Goats out there. Your pack was working hard for you."

"They were for sure, Karl. The Sanctii had that one try, missed the kick and it was all over from there. The scrum just kept them jammed up before their 22 for the rest of the match. We gotta take off. Quick round o' beers then turning in early to stay fresh."

"Enjoy Horst, you boys earned it. Thanks for talking to us."

"Always. We love our fans back home. There's a few here, but we miss them. Thanks, Karl."

Yes, Yes! The Fair Republic pulls off a 20-16 victory in Rugby World Cup 20 today pulling the toucans into 4th place in their grouping. The Coach William Small stated that he is happy with his squads performance and hopes that they can continue their good play
